The darkness hid his face from her gaze, something which he was grateful for because he couldn't bear for her to see the pained look across his face. Draco only ended things between them to give her chance to become who she wanted to be in life.
Someone with a decent career without being held back by her ex death eater boyfriend. His heart was breaking, but still it was what was best for her.
Not that she sees that yet, but one day she will look back and realize that it was the best thing that happened to her.
His life was ruined the moment he was branded with the dark mark, but he wasn't going to ruin her life too. He loved her way too much to be the reason she didn't get where she worked so hard to be in life.
Letting her go is the first unselfish thing he has done in his life and it hurts like hell, but it's for her the only person who saw how sorry for the things he'd done.
It would make her friends happy to know that he'd no longer be in her life holding her back.
They had never liked him or really forgiven him for the past not that he blamed them if the roles were reversed he'd be the same way.
He knew that they would say he'd probably ended it because he found someone else or just grown bored with her but it wasn't true.
