Hymn Potter
Important AN: I will use the gender pronoun, during the thoughts of a character, appropriate to the sex the character thinks Hymn is.
Chapter 2: We have sortage, and first day.
"HUFFLEPUFF!" the hat shouted to a stunned hall.
Then the house most overlooked started cheering, they had unexpectedly obtained the most famous celebrity since Dumbledore.
The other three houses were in shock, they had expected him to go into Gryffindor like his father, or Ravenclaw like his mother. Slytherin was a remote possibility, but for the hero of the wizarding world to be in the most overlooked and second most derided house, was unexpected.
They apparently didn't expect loyalty and hard work from a 'hero'.
The boy in girl's clothing met Miros on the way to their new table, and nobody noticed that the headmaster was glaring at the piece of cloth that was being placed on the head of the next student. He had needed the 'girl' in Gryffindor, so that she could become friends with the Weasleys, and push her further into the light. If she happened to fall for any of them that would be best.
The coldness of her best friend worried him though.
The table that the two reached on the other hand had clapped boisterously at the fact they had obtained such a famous individual and Hymn had ended up sitting next to the minister's daughter.
The rest of the sorting went peacefully, until a boy with red hair started cursing at the hat for making him a lion, and not putting him with the savior, and earned three records. The fastest person to get a detention, the fastest to loose points, and the only time a house ever went into the negatives for points. The boy moved to his table, and sat sullenly until the food was brought out. He then started to eat fast and sloppily.
Soon after the deserts were set out, and eaten it happened.
The school song.
Sung by over two hundred students, all to a different mental tune, and almost none of them with any talent.
Reyvateils have a natural talent with singing, and an instinctive grasp of vocal music. Hymn was raised by having a mother whom was one, his father's 'friends', his sister, his best friend, her mother, and several family friends, all of which were said song maidens. He himself was contaminated by whatever happened in the dive machine.
This caused another record for the school. One not nearly as amusing. It was the first time the school song was interrupted by two students being sent into seizures by the song. The two were rushed to the hospital wing by a concerned school medi-witch. This wasn't a record for timing though, that was the one time a student needed the attention of the resident medic three minutes into the train ride. That student died midway to school.
The headmaster's face was pale, he hadn't expected any students to ever have that reaction. It was unfortunate that a previous headmaster made the song the way for every student to help maintain the wards so it couldn't be avoided. He would have to remember to block the noise from their ears next year... or get them the same earplugs he used to filter the song into some nice Beethoven.
Speaking of the wards, there had been an odd resonance in them ever since the new students arrived.

The next morning the two attended breakfast in the great hall with their peers, although they were pale and shaky. They wouldn't be performing magic in their condition, and would be exempt from anything but theory work for the first day, but were mobile.
Madam Pompfry dragged Dumbledore out by his ear to have a privet conversation.
"That boy, and the girl, have had some serious injuries in the past headmaster, and all are too old to correct. Hymn's back has been severely injured years ago, and is mainly supported by a corset like back brace. Without that, his spine is relativity delicate. I'm going to have to insist that he be banned from Quidditch.
Miros on the other hand is in better shape, except for a large amount of scarring on her torso, and her missing eye.
They both are recovering from the seizure that they endured, and should be back to normal by tomorrow."
Dumbledore frowned, that was the second time he had heard Hymn be referred to as male, but dismissed it as unimportant. He also realized that getting the girl to be a heroine to the light would be more difficult with such long term injuries.
"Thank you for the update, I'll prevent the same thing from happening next year. Any other concerns?" the old man asked. At receiving a negative he went back to finish breakfast. Upon entering he saw the two extradimensional students heading out, most likely to collect their books.
They wouldn't bee seen for the rest of the day, between the unhelpful Peeves, equally unhelpful portraits, the shifting layout of the castle, and the fact that they had neglected to ask for directions after assuming a logical layout of the buildings. They were found near suppertime passed out with their hands lightly entwined, exhausted and hungry, by a multi tailed fox, whom brought the first professor she found with her. Even if the man was slightly singed and smoking.
Snape looked at the passed out students and wanted to sneer, he really did, but the paleness of the two, combined with the issues the night before, merely gave him a migraine. Levitating the two students back to the hospital wing he started grumbling about stubborn idiotic students, the Weasley twins, bossy foxes, the Weasley twins, Longbottom melting his cauldron on the most basic potion, the Weasley twins, the youngest Weasley, the Weasley twins again, the fact that the potion he applies to his hair to neutralize the potion fumes from his cauldrons so that his hair wouldn't dissolve is so damn greasy, the Weasley twins yet again...
The fox tuned him out after fifteen minutes, with a sweatdrop as large as she was somehow on her forehead without bursting on the ground or dehydrating her. Apparently the twins had been in rare form this day. They had earned enough detentions that any sane headmaster would've expelled them, but the old man refused stating second chances.
Every cauldron except in his first year classes had exploded after the two had put a disillusioned film of some custom mixture they created on the cauldrons. The mixture seemed to have a mind of it's own and only reacted at exactly the worst time. How they convinced a house elf to help was another question. The hospital wing was overflowing with cases. The two had been gloating about their prank when Snape discovered them. He had, somehow, managed to not get hit by the explosion.
He then realized that the school medic had no room for the two he was levitating. They were just tired and hungry, not actually inured, so he turned towards the great hall with his passengers in tow. He hoped to wake them and make them eat. Then get them to their dorms and find someone to make sure they don't get lost again.
Dumbledore noticed the grumbling man come in with the two students in tow, and his grim mood spiked. That is until he noticed the two were uninjured, and his potions professor was sticking them to some seats at their table, and giving instructions to the nearest prefect. That made him smile, his most... prickly professor taking care of students not of his own house warmed his heart, and made some of his families patented eye twinkle come back. Not for the first time after he had seen it in his eyes he cursed the fact that an ancestor had turned their eyes into magical mood rings with the damn twinkle.
The two were revived, and while still obviously out of it, forced to eat, then the prefect led them to their dorms.
"The girl's pet fox led me to them," Snape said as he sat down, and put hands to work setting up a plate. "I have also instructed that the prefects assign someone to lead them to their classes for the first week or so, the fox's hair made a potion explode..." it was then that the man stopped and his eyes focused on the fox. The multiple tails would normally of been a clue, but he had just been so annoyed they didn't register. The fox was a kitsune, as further evidenced by the potion blowing up, a normal animal's fur would've just turned the potion into a black sludge with the consistency of tar, and made him dispose of the cauldron since cleaning it would me more hassle than a new cauldron was worth.
The fact that the fox was so willing made him think she had some sort of submission kink, especially if she allowed herself to be bought.

Back in the dorms the two slightly more coherent students were meeting with their head of house, whom had read the medical reports for the two. This led to an issue.
Hymn would be unable to communicate without Miros. Miros was female so she cant stay in the same dorm as Hymn. Then it hit her, there were what was called lord's quarters. They were intended for engaged couples, so they could have privacy. But one could be modified to allow the two to share, something Miros sleepily stated they often do, even to the point of cuddling in each others arms, dressed in their sleeping clothes, while doing so. She had the house elves move the large bed out for two smaller ones, hoping that they would get the hint.
She led them to a painting of a young girl, about fourteen years old, dressed skimpily with uneven silver hair, silver eyes, and some badly treated scars (EN). Noting the glazed expression on the faces of the two, she urged them in to sleep, stating that she would talk to them in the morning. She knew anything she said now would be out of their heads in less time than it would take for their heads to hit the pillows.
The two were asleep cuddling half on a bed as soon as the portrait closed.
Two trunks were popped in silently by two beings wearing nice pillow cases with the Hogwart's crest. They looked at the two and shaking their heads in amusement moved them fully on the bed and tucked them in.
Thus day one of the term came to a close... with the Weasley twins breaking the record for the most students sent to the infirmary outside a war situation.

EN: yes another character being used to guard the privet rooms from the Fate franchise. I MIGHT bring her along, but probably NOT as part of the pairing. If you don't know, she'll be introduced next chapter anyway.
EN2: bit shorter than normal but this seamed like the best place to end it.
