Ariella walked inside her house and was greeted by her mother. "Ari is that you?" Rachel called from the kitchen. "Yeah mom. It's me. I'll be in my room if you need me." Ariella called back and then walked upstairs. Ariella walked into her room, threw her bag on the chair in front of her desk, and then belly flopped onto her queen-sized bed.

After a few minutes of relaxing on her bed she decided to go downstairs to get a snack. Ariella walked into the kitchen and saw her mom sitting at the kitchen table reading over her new script. "Hey mom. How was work?" Ariella asked opening the fridge. "It was alright." Rachel replied looking at her daughter. Rachel noticed what Ariella was wearing and set the script down. "I don't recall you wearing that shirt to school this morning." Rachel said. "Oh, yeah, um, funny story. I was slushied by my prom date and this really nice guy helped clean me up. My shirt was sticky and he let me borrow one of his. We're also going to prom together." Ariella said and walked out of the kitchen before her mom could question her. Rachel got up and followed her daughter into the living. "Not so fast. You were slushied by your prom date and now you're going to prom with someone you barely know?" Rachel asked angrily. "He's really nice one you get to know him." Ariella retorted. "I really don't want to get into this right now. I have too much going on at work right now." Rachel explained. "I understand." Ariella said. "But it doesn't mean that we aren't going to talk about. We're just going to talk about it when your father gets home." Rachel replied. Ariella nodded and then walked back upstairs to her room.

A few hours later Noah arrived home. He walked inside and saw his son in the living room playing video games. He chuckled as his son yelled at the TV screen. Noah walked into the kitchen and saw his wife viciously cutting up vegetables for dinner. "Hey babe. Why are you murdering the celery?" Noah asked walking over to the fridge and grabbing a beer. Rachel turned around and pointed the knife at her husband. "Your daughter is going to prom with someone she barely knows." Rachel snarled. "What do you mean?" Noah asked as Rachel set the knife on the cutting board. "I'll let Ariella explain it to you." Rachel said and resumed cutting up the celery.

"Let me get this straight. Your prom date slushied you and some guy you barely know helped clean you up. And now you're going to prom with him?" Noah asked incredulously. "Yes dad. That's what happened." Ariella said hanging her head. "I'm very disappointed in you." Noah said looking at his daughter. "I'll invite him over tomorrow so you guys can meet him." Ariella said looking at her parents. "Alright. Invite him over. I want to meet the boy that is taking my little girl to prom." Noah said smiling. Ariella got out of her seat and hugged her dad. "Thank you daddy. You're the best." Ariella said pecking his cheek.

The next day Ariella arrived at school and looked around for Aaron. "Hey girlie. What are you doing?" Tatiana asked looking at her friend. "I'm looking for this guy." Ariella said looking around to see if she missed him. "A guy? What guy?" she asked. "His name's Aaron. I met him yesterday. He helped me get cleaned up after my prom date slushied me." Ariella said looking at her friend. "Logan Emerson slushied you?" Tatiana asked putting a hand on her hip. "Yes, he did." Ariella said as she spotted Aaron walking down the hall. "I'm going to kick his ass." Tatiana said as she watched her best friend walk away.

"Hey Aaron." Ariella said as she caught up with him. "Hey Ariella." Aaron said smiling at the girl next to him. "I wanted to thank you for helping me yesterday." Ariella said blushing. "No problem. Um, not to be rude or anything, but do you need something?" Aaron asked as they continued walking down the hall. "I was wondering if you wanted to come over after school." Ariella asked him. Aaron stopped walking and then looked at her. "I don't know." Aaron replied. "It's just that my parents want to meet the guy that helped their daughter after being slushied." Ariella explained. Aaron ran his hand through his short hair and then looked at her. "Do you need a ride home?" Aaron asked smirking. "Does this mean you're coming over after school?" Ariella asked smiling. "Yeah, I'm coming over. I'll meet you at your locker." he said pecking her cheek before he walked to his class.

The final bell rang and Ariella bolted to her locker. When she got to her locker she saw Aaron leaning against it. "I told you I'd be at your locker after school." Aaron grinned. "I didn't doubt you." Ariella said smiling. "You ready to go?" Aaron asked as she closed her locker. "Yep. Let's go." Ariella said and looped her arm through his.

The car pulled up in front of Ariella's house a few minutes later. "You nervous?" Ariella asked looking at Aaron. "Me nervous? No way." Aaron said shaking his head. "Okay, Mr. Badass, let's go then." Ariella giggled as she got out of the car. Aaron rolled his eyes at the nickname she gave him and got out of the car too. Ariella grabbed his hand and led him up the driveway and into the house. "Mom. Dad. You guys home?" Ariella called out. Aaron followed her as she walked into the living room. "Ben have you seen mom or dad?" she asked her younger brother. "Mom's at work and I think dad is in the basement." Ben said looking at his sister. "Thanks Ben. Oh, by the way, this is Aaron. The guy I was telling mom and dad about last night." Ariella said introducing him to her brother. "Aaron this is my pain in the ass little brother Ben." Ariella said as Ben stuck his tongue out at her. "Nice to meet you Ben." Aaron said smiling at the fourteen year old boy. "You too dude." Ben said picking up the game controller and returning to his video game. Ariella grabbed Aaron's arm and pulled him out of the living room and towards the basement. "Are you ready to meet my dad?" she asked putting a hand on his bicep. "As ready as I'll ever be." Aaron said and they walked downstairs.

They walked into the basement and saw Noah sitting on the couch playing his guitar. "Hey daddy. I'd like you to meet someone." Ariella said watching as her dad set the guitar down and got up. "It's nice to meet you sir. I'm Aaron Roth." Aaron said extending his hand. "It's nice to meet you Aaron." Noah said shaking his hand. Aaron noticed the guitar on the table and spoke up. "I like your guitar sir." Aaron said looking at Noah. "Do you play?" Noah asked picking up the guitar and extending it to Aaron. "A little bit." Aaron said blushing. "Can you play something for us?" Ariella asked enthusiastically. "Sure." Aaron said grabbing the guitar and sitting down on the couch to get comfortable. Aaron strummed a few chords and then looked at Ariella and her dad. "I'm not sure what to sing so I'll just sing a song on the radio. I hope you like it." Aaron said. He cleared his throat and began to sing.

Hey oh oh oh
Hey oh oh oh
Hey oh oh

You're the perfect part of me
You're the oxygen I breathe
You're a superstar
A work of art
It's electricity
You're a yes in a world of no's
You're the Beatles to my Stones
It's a sweet romance
A spotlight dance
Girl you shake me to my bones

But every now and then I'll start to slip away
I gotta' hear you say

Take me out spin me around
We can laugh when we both fall down
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
When I sing out of key
Still play air guitar for me
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
Don't feel all kind of right

Hey oh oh oh
Hey

And when we fight we fight
And it ain't a pretty site
Well it's not complex
It's the make up sex
Though we always get that right
Well they don't make a pill
That can give me the thrill
When you look at me
Then I hear you say

Take me out spin me around
We can laugh when we both fall down
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
When I sing out of key
Still play air guitar for me
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
Don't feel all kind of right

It's quite clear to me
That we were always meant to be
You're my bird
Baby I'm your bee
You got me a to z

Take me out spin me around
We can laugh when we both fall down
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
When I sing out of key
Still play air guitar for me
Let's get stupid dancing with cupid tonight
Don't feel all kind of right

Hey Oh oh oh
Hey Oh oh oh
Hey Oh oh oh

"That was amazing. Why didn't you tell me you could sing and play guitar?" Ariella asked sitting down next to him. "You never asked." Aaron smirked. "That was really good Aaron." Noah said putting a hand on the young man's shoulder. "Thank you sir." Aaron said smiling. "I think mom just got home. Why don't we all go upstairs and talk." Noah said as the three of them walked upstairs.
