Then my mom is gone. I smiled slightly; at least I know she's still with me.

It was time for me to return home. "Okay, just picture the place you went to return to" I said as I pictured Berk in my head. I closed my eyes.

* Hiccup disappeared*

-On Berk-

Astrid's P.O.V

Toothless had told me that Hiccup wanted to do some things before he turned into a dragon. I wondered what he had to do. I also informed my mother and father that I'd be joining Hiccup as a night fury. Oh, they were not happy. I explained why I decided to turn with him; I loved him a lot and I planned on marrying him one day. Though I guessed that dragons have different customs than Vikings do.

"Hey Astrid, you there!?" Called a voice.

I walked over to the window and spotted Hiccup. "Have you told your dad yet?" I asked.

"Uh, no not yet, I just got here." Hiccup admitted.

"How'd you get here anyways Hiccup?" I asked.

"Well I am dead, I can transfer from place to place, so that's how I got here… now would you hurry up and come with me to tell my dad?" Hiccup said.

I nodded and jumped down to join him.

We walked in black silence. The full moon casted an eerie glow of shadows on the ground as we walked through the village. Soon we arrived at Hiccup's house. We entered.

Hiccup's P.O.V

"Dad I'm home!" I said.

Stoick looked up.

"Oh thank Thor, where have you been Hiccup?!" Stoick asked.

As dad approached me I already knew what was going to come.

Dad tried to hug me, but he went right through my body.

"What in Thor's name? Hiccup, why did that happen?" My dad asked me.

I heaved a sigh, here it comes…

"Well dad, you might want to sit down before I tell you." I said.

For once my stubborn father listened to me and sat back down in his chair.

"Well last night, as you know, we didn't return home." I said. I paused to see if my dad was listening. When he nodded I continued.

"The reason for this is because I got trapped in a bola. I-it well… dad look I'm not exactly…alive, I'm dead." I said.

The look my father bared was of not only horror but sadness, shock, pain and grief.

"I know this is hard to take in right now dad, but unfortunately there's more to it." I said.

When he said nothing I continued…

"The only reason you can see and hear me is because of Toothless; his bite saved my soul from leaving completely. In saying that, his bite also made me into a night fury." I said.

My dad's eyes widened as he looked at me, then shook his head.

"I knew that you'd die eventually because of your reckless behavior, but I didn't realize you'd die at 19 son. sigh When do you turn?" Stoick asked.

"We turn at midnight." I said.

This got my father's attention real fast.

"What do you mean 'we'?" he asked.

"Astrid and I are both turning into night furies." I said.

Stoick looked over to Astrid. "Okay, how'd you get yourself to transform too?" Stoick asked.

"Well I used my powers that I got from the skrill." Astrid replied.

"Do your parents know this too?" Stoick asked.

Astrid nodded.

"Sighed Okay, you both should get some sleep for tonight's events." Dad said.

We both nodded. I kissed Astrid before she left. Once she'd lefted, I went upstairs and found my dragon looking at me.

"What's with the look?" I questioned.

Toothless just chuckled.

"What's so funny you overgrown lizard?" I growled.

"You, just everything about you." Toothless laughed.

I snarled a warning.

"You're lucky I don't have any fire Toothless, because if I did, you'd get a plasma ball right to the face!" I snarled.

"Yeah, I know, and you need to get some rest. We'll need to walk to the cove soon for your transformation." He said.

"Great, you are just asking to get hurt buddy, and yeah I know." I said.

I lied down on my bed and Toothless lied down on his rock slab, and soon were both asleep.

-Closer to midnight-

*With Hiccup and Toothless*

Still Hiccup's P.O.V

Toothless and I went to the cove and waited.

"Okay, Hiccup, when the transformation begins there's nothing that can help you; the transformation will also be extremely painful." Toothless said.

"I think I already know that Toothless!" I growled.

The moon then moves into place.

I winced at the sudden jab of pain that tore through my whole being. I was already on the ground when this happened so I wouldn't hurt myself. I growled in agony as two more jolts of pain tore through me once again. I felt my body as it began to turn from my current human frame to that of a night fury. My bones cracked as they began to move, my arms and legs moved under me- shortening for speed and agility. The rope around my prosthetic leg snapped and my left foot re-grew itself. My hands and feet became round and grew sharp claws. Next, my spine and ribcage moved and grow bigger to the sizes they needed to be. My head changed shape and size, causing my head to hang lower on my neck. My eyes move from the front to the side of my head, my nose shrunk to fit in my new muzzle, my teeth turn sharpened and retracted into my gums of my mouth, and my tongue turned to that of a snake. My body grew my frills, ears, and secondary sonar ears. My legs grew additional, smaller spikes, while larger spikes grew from the middle of my back to the base of my tail. By this point my green tunic was completely gone, same with my green pants I had been wearing only minutes before. My vocal chords changed, becoming more like a dragon's. I released a yowl before my legs gave out from under me, my body shook at it's uselessness at this point. I allowed my body to adapt to the new body. Toothless drape his wing over me and pulled me closer to his body. The warmth he gave off comforted me, and I soon I fell into a dreamless slumber.

*with Astrid*

Astrid's P.O.V

I felt a strange ping of energy as my body began the transformation. My arms and legs moved under me, and I felt my body become slightly smaller than Toothless' body. My hands and feet round and grew smaller claws. My head changed shape and lowered on my neck, my eyes moved apart, my nose grew into my muzzle, and my teeth retracted into my gums, my tongue turned into one of a snake. My body grew frills, ears and secondary sonar ears. My legs grew additional, smaller spikes, while larger spikes grew from the middle of my back to the base of my tail. Next were my wings. Specifically, my wings opened and caused my red spiked skirt and my top to be completely shredded. My tail was the last thing to grow. I whimpered in pain and collapsed from exhaustion. Despite being in pain, it wasn't as intense as I had expected it to be, and so I just fell asleep.

-The next morning-

Hiccup's P.O.V

Yawns I opened my eyes slowly. Everything was blurry at first, but then my vision focused and everything increased tenfold. I turned my head to see Toothless still sleeping so I nudged him with my snout. His eyes also opened slowly and smiled at me.

"How do you feel Hiccup?" He asked me.

"I feel great actually, I'm hungry though… think you could teach me how to fish?" I asked.

He nodded. He got up and stretched, then made his way over to the pond. I got up and did the same. Since I've been in Toothless' body before- when Alvin made us fight his changewing, - I know what it's like to be like in a dragons body. I remembered that the changewing had used it's hypnosis on the both of us at the same time, forcing me into Toothless' body and Toothless into my human body.

We sat down at the edge of the pond. I listened to Toothless carefully as he taught me how to catch fish. After three minutes of eating fish, Toothless and I were full. So I decided to take a fish with me for Astrid, speaking of whom we had to go find.

-An hour later-

Still in Hiccup's P.O.V

Soon Toothless and I stumbled upon a clearing. That's when I spotted a stunning snow white night fury. I raced over to it. The eyes opened slowly and looked up at me with ice blue eyes. This snow white night fury was definitely Astrid.

"Well, well don't we look different?" She said.

"Yeah and so do you, one your smaller then Toothless and I, and your coloring is snow white and not black." I said.

"Actually you're dark pine brown and you have your normal emerald green eyes." She said.

"Wait, what!?" I asked.

I looked at myself. She was right, I wasn't black like Toothless at all, I'm dark pine brown, how'd I miss that?

"How did I miss that while we were fishing?" I asked.

Toothless shrugged.

"You're not helping, you know that right." I growled.

Toothless nodded and sat down beside me.

"Well if my memory serves me correct female night furies are actually called light furies. Unlike you and I, they can blend into snow and clouds during the day, while night furies blend in at night; henceforth, their names. Furthermore, light furies have different fire than night furies: while night furies have blue/purple plasma balls light furies have ice blue/ice purple plasma balls. Their fire can turn either extremely hot like lava, or extremely cold like ice." Toothless said.

"Uh-oh, remind me not to get on your bad side." I said to Astrid.

She nodded and noticed the fish I had brought with me. I noticed this and moved it towards her and smiled.

She nodded in thanks and ate the fish slowly. She was braver than I was. Thinking back to my experience in the cove, I still had a very big problem with eating raw fish. Since I refused to eat the raw fish, Toothless got a smidge rough and finally had to throw a raw cold fish into my mouth, making me eat it whole.

"I see you've got a mate already." Toothless chuckled.

Both Astrid and I looked at him as if he were crazy. We aren't even dragons for a day and he's seriously talking about mating!?

I shot him with a plasma ball, which in turn made him yelp in pain.

"I told you I'd shoot you bud, but do you listen? No!" I said angrily.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'm just saying that Astrid is yours not mine, and it makes perfect sense when you look at it." He said.

He did have a point, there's two of us and one of Astrid. So what he's trying to say is, since we were together as humans, we continue to belong together as dragons.

"Sorry bud, next time I'll give you a chance to explain yourself before I shoot you." I said.

"It's okay. I walked right into that one." He said.

"You think! Be happy that was Hiccup, not me." Astrid growled.

Toothless actually backed away from my side; his fear scent strong. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I fell over laughing, struggling to catch my breath as I tried to clutch my aching sides with my new found paws. Astrid couldn't resist joining me on the grass, laughing.

Toothless gave up and joined us on the grass.

At noon we headed to the academy to meet up with our friends. I wasn't sure if they would be able to understand us.

When we arrived, everyone was there. I was glad both Gobber and dad were there too. Their presence made life easier because I could talk to Gobber, after talking with everyone else, about how things will be done now that both Astrid and I are dragons. Specifically, I wanted to talk to him about the tail I made Toothless for snoggoltog a year ago.

"Hey, you three. Whoa Astrid, you've got white scales, and Hiccup you've got pine brown scales. This is so cool!" Fishlegs said.

"Hey, Fishlegs." I said. (What comes out is more like grunts and growls.)

"We can't talk to them Hiccup, they can't understand us." Astrid whimpered.

I nudged her. "Hey. No worries, we can still write ruins can't we?" I purred.

"I guess you're right, but that means we need something to write on with either ink, charcoal or our claws," she said.

She pointed out a good amount of ideas. I nodded and looked around the arena for something. That's when I remembered that I had hid ink and a charcoal pencil. I decided to use the ink, so I wobbled over to the barrel where I had hid it. I took it out, using my teeth, and I wobbled back over to Astrid's side, setting the ink down gently on the ground - in front of Astrid and I.

"Ready for this?" I asked.

Astrid nodded.

We both dipped one of our claws and began to write. Once we were done we stepped back to allow everyone to read; my father read the message aloud:

Okay, as you can see, you guys can't understand us at all. So, writing will be our substitute for communicating on the ground. In the air, Astrid and I will communicate with your dragons demonstrating moves. As well, there will be some information for Fishlegs to write down in the book of dragons, about night furies. Female night furies are actually called light furies. Unlike Toothless and I, they can blend into snow and clouds during the day, while night furies blend in at night; henceforth, their names. Furthermore, light furies have different fire than night furies: while night furies have blue/purple plasma balls light furies have ice blue/ice purple plasma balls. Their fire can turn either extremely hot like lava, or extremely cold like ice. Now I know this is going to be hard to get used to, but we will have to make do with what we have for the time being.

"Wow! So that also means that female night furies, well light furies, are smaller than night furies?" Fishlegs asked.

Astrid and I both nodded.

"Oh this is going to be so cool. We will be able to learn new things about dragons even more, maybe, about night furies and light furies!" Fishlegs said happily.

I wrote again.

Hey Gobber, you remember that tail fin that I made for Toothless last Snoggoltog?

Gobber nodded.

Well I'll need your help to make it for him again because he broke it-

I glared at Toothless.

"What? I like when you controlled the tail!"he said stubbornly.

"I don't see why not Hiccup, we'll get to work after you're done here." Gobber said.

I nodded and continued.

"Ha-ha, well well, the beautiful snow white light fury needs someone to help her, hmm?" Hookfang purred.

"Oh leave my rider alone. All you are is rubbish!" Stormfly scoffed!

"Stay out of this natter!" Hookfang hissed.

Hookfang strolled over to Astrid.

"Hey there Astrid, you're scales look beautiful in the sun's rays." Hookfang purred.

"Um, thanks Hookfang." Astrid said.

"You're the most stunning dragon on this island; any natter would be jealous of your beauty." He purred again.

This made her blush.

My ears flicked, I turned to see Hookfang trying to get a hold of Astrid. My eyes instantly turned to slits. I ran and jumped between Hookfang and Astrid.

"Are you okay Astrid?" I asked.

Her whole form was shaking, I couldn't tell if she was frightened or not.

"I-it started out w-with compliments then-" she couldn't finish what she was going to say.

My eyes widened at this, then narrowed at the nightmare that stood before me.

"You sick… how dare you try to hurt her?!" I snarled!

"Me? I'm only doing what I want, and no one tells me what to do. If I want something, I get it; and I want Astrid." Hookfang snapped.

"Oh –no, not in your life Hookfang, keep your talons off her!" I snarled!

"You aren't listening, are you Hiccup!? She's going to be mine!" Hookfang said, licking his lips.

"Toothless, could you please take Astrid to the other side of the arena? I don't want her to get hurt in the cross fire." I said.

Toothless moved her over with the others who had moved to stay out of our way.

I turned back to Hookfang and tried to put him in his place.

"No, she's not Hookfang. You can do whatever you dang well please… as long as I'm around, Astrid will never be on your little list of things you wish to have. She turned so she would be with me! I will protect her with my life! I am not afraid to die again, Hookfang, and I will see to it that you will never mate with her!" I snapped.

Hookfang snorted at me, and I snarled back.

"You're weak Hiccup, as a human and as a dragon!" Hookfang smiled evilly. "Okay here's the deal: if I win the fight I get her, and if you're lucky enough to win against me I'll leave her alone, deal?"

"Hiccup no! D-don't do it! You haven't had experience to learn all of your abilities yet!" Toothless cried.

Growling "Deal!" I snarled.

Then all heck broke loose.

Hookfang lunged forward. Using my legs' new abilities, I jumped easily out of the way of his oncoming attack. I ran around the arena dodging his attacks.

"Stop running away Hiccup, or are you a wimp?" He shouted.

I kept my pace. If I knew anything about stoker class dragons, it's that they're hot headed, vicious fire breathers, and that a Monstrous nightmare's flame skin can only burn for five minutes; at which time it dies out. In addition, its shot limit is 4. If I can tire him out, I can make my final attack without having to walk away with wounds. How I love still having my human knowledge?!

Just as I predicted, Hookfang activated his flame skin and shot fire at me. I dodged every attack he threw at me. Five minutes later, he was all out of fire. I smiled. I used the arena wall to ricochet myself at him, and I bit down hard into Hookfang's soft neck. Hookfang cried out in pain and I threw him away from me. I landed nicely on the ground.

"Never try to harm my mate again!" I snapped.

"Y-You win." Hookfang said.

Hookfang fell unconscious.

I was panting heavily, with my chest rising and falling quickly. My lungs felt like they were on fire. I growled one last time at the nightmare, before my body became heavy. "Hiccup!" I heard a woman scream. Then everything went black.

Astrid's P.O.V

I waited with Hiccup as Gothi checked him over. Something had happened to Hiccup after he protected me from Hookfang. Hiccup had told Hookfang that he would die all over again to keep me safe; I believe him when he says this because he made the same vow to Snoutlout when he had tried to make a move on me. Hiccup made this first vow when I was caught by one of Snoutlout's so called 'love traps.' I had woken up in the arena, my body subdued by chains and shackles, from which I tried to break free, but couldn't. Snoutlout had begun to touch me inappropriately, at which time I screamed for help. I had cried…no, that was an understatement. I sobbed. I didn't care who came but I needed help. That's when Hiccup flew in on Toothless. He promised me that he'd free me as soon as he finished kicking Snoutlout's butt; all the way to the deepest depths of Hell. Hiccup, given the extra adrenaline rush from his anger, actually kicked Snoutlout's butt. Once he had done that, he freed me from my prison and held me close to him. He was shaking all over from the earlier adrenaline rush. I've never been so happy to have him as I did in that moment. It was then that I knew that he was the only one for me. That wasn't more than a few months ago. Despite not being physically strong, the bravery and courage that he has shown me cannot be compared to anyone else on Berk, or anywhere else for that matter. I-I felt so weak and helpless…I felt…scared. I'm never scared, except when I feel like Hiccup's going to leave the world…or…leave me. I watched Gothi as she walked over to her sand and wrote something down. Once she was done I turned to face Gobber, to know what she had written.

"Astrid, what you're going to hear may also happen with your new body as well." Gobber told me.

I rolled my eyes and snarled at him to get on with it.

"Gothi said that Hiccup's transformation is trying to alter something inside of him. She can't tell what it is but she thinks that it is going to happen preotichlly and that he's in a trans-like dream. She what's to know if you feel weird at all?" Gobber said.

I could only shake my head from side to side, and then I used my tail to erase Gothi's pictures that she had drawn in the sand it was her way to communicate. I then began to write ruins with my claw about my transformation:

My transformation is probably extremely different than Hiccup's

* I felt a strange ping of energy as my body when it had began the transformation. My arms and legs had moved under me, and I had felt my body become slightly smaller than Toothless' body. My hands and feet had round and grew smaller claws. My head had changed shape and lowered on my neck, my eyes had moved apart, my nose grew into my muzzle, and my teeth had retracted into my gums, my tongue then had turned into one of a snake. My body then grew frills, ears and secondary sonar ears. My legs then grew additional, smaller spikes, while larger spikes grew from the middle of my back to the base of my tail. Next were my wings. Specifically, my wings opened and caused my red spiked skirt and my top to be completely shredded. My tail was the last thing to grow. I whimpered in pain and had collapsed from exhaustion. Despite being in pain, it wasn't as intense as I had expected it to be, and so I just fell asleep.

Then Toothless piped in.

"T-this doesn't make since you took half of Hiccup's venom for the transformation how does he take more of a fuller transformation with greater effect that didn't affect you?" Toothless snarled.

"In case you've forgotten may I remind you that I have the skrill's powers!" I snorted.

His face softened in realization that what I had said to him was true. My powers must have been the reason why I'm awake and not asleep like Hiccup is. I sighed and turned to face Hiccup's sleeping form. I just hoped he would wake up soon. I turn away and faced Toothless again.

"A-Astrid?" I heard a voice call.

I turned around and saw Hiccup's emerald green eyes staring at me; I smiled and ran over to him, connecting my forehead to his.

"What's wrong my lovely snowflake?" He asked me.

I felt tears in my eyes but nothing fell, I whimpered into his chest, I didn't care who saw me crying, I was just happy to be beside his warm body. To be in his embrace makes me feel as if nothing could hurt me.

"Had a hard first day huh?" He said.

I nodded and stared up at him. He licks my check and smiles.

"You're a strong, beautiful, dragoness Astrid, if you're happy, then I'm happy, if you're sad, then I'm sad too. I won't pretend you don't exist and I won't let anything happen to you." Hiccup said.

His words, they were always so powerful and always so true. That's one of his best qualities. If his knowledge and kindness didn't exist, he would have been just another Viking to me, but he's more than that, much, much more.

"I-I love you Hiccup and I have for a long time." I said.

"I love you too Astrid." Hiccup purred.

We embrace for what felt like hours, taking in each other's scents in that knowing that the other cares. We broke apart and Hiccup gave me a kiss, or in dragon terms we touched snouts.

"You always know how to make me feel better." I said smiling.

He smiled. "I know, I'm doing well at it aren't I?" He asked.

"No, you're perfect." I said.

"Get a cave!" Toothless said half playful, half angered.

We both chuckled and walked over to him. Then, I swatted him with my tail.

"OW hey what was that four?" Toothless growled.

"Uh, ooops, sorry, I haven't gotten used to a tail yet." I lied.

"Growled Sure… you've both have had seventeen hours as dragons you should know the basics!" Toothless growled.

"Snarled Hey lay off she was only playing around. So back down bud!" Hiccup snarled.

"Well aren't your instincts up to date. Your aggression is pretty impressive for a human turned dragon." Toothless said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Hiccup growled.

"HEY! Enough! No more fighting! Toothless, close your maw and sit in the corner. You're on a timeout! Hiccup stay put, and cool off!" I snapped.

"What! No way! I'm not a hatchling and you can't order me around!" Toothless snapped.

I shot an ice purple plasma ball at him which in turn, threw him into the corner. Then I shot a ice blue plasma ball and froze his feet and tail to the ground; still keeping the temperature fairly warm so it'd wouldn't freeze him.

"Hey, let me go!" He screeched.

"Well you asked for it. Never question me again. If I say act like an idiot, you act like one understand." I hissed.

"Yes ma'am." Toothless sighs.

"Good for you, Astrid… you're learning quickly." Hiccup purred.

"I was born ready to fight, and learn, Hiccup." I said.

He smiled and turned to Gobber.

-At the forge-

Hiccup's P.O.V

After Astrid unfroze Toothless, he began telling us more about dragon society, as we walked to the forge. He explained that as dragons, we are all 'kin'. On our way we were greeted by several of the dragons species that reside in Berk, their new home since Toothless and I defeated the Red Death. Once we arrived in the forge I felt like I was at home, well one of them that is.

"Well Hiccup, can you get me the plans and some of the things I need?" Gobber asked me.

I nodded and grabbed the supplies that Gobber would need to make Toothless a working tail fin. Surprisingly my mouth worked well without having teeth unshed. I achalley can carry heavy objects in my mouth that I could never lift when I was human.

Gobber chuckled when he saw my face.

"Hiccup, stop acting like an overgrown puppy dog." He said.

I chuckled at his joke. I did feel like an overgrown puppy dog.

"Okay, now that I have the supplies I need I can get to work." Gobber said.

I nodded and laid down with the others.

"So, Hiccup, how are you feeling?" Astrid asked.

"I'm okay." I said.

She smiled.

"Okay, now for more on dragon customs." Toothless said.

"Okay bud, let her rip" I said.

He nodded and began.

"As you know, Vikings have their customs and we have ours. You haven't fully learned them yet… so it's my job to teach you them. First off, we believe in other gods much different than your own. The Dragon Prince of the Sun and the Princess Dragoness of the Moon - those are our main gods of the dragon world. Now comes the class system. As you have written down in the book of dragons, we have our own kind of village. We have the lowest ranking dragons, the Terrors; who used to be known as the little biters, while under the reign of the evil Queen Dragon. Then we have the Natters (a.k.a., the two-legs), and the Gronkles (a.k.a., the Rock-eaters.) The Gronkles had a much easier time living compared to us because they could live off of rocks; unlike us who needed food like fish or livestock to survive. Next is Thornato (a.k.a., the Sound-blasters), and the Nightmares (a.k.a., Flame-skins). The highest ranking of all these dragons are the Night Furries (a.k.a., the Shadow-blenders , or Night-stokers etc.) Also, you must already know that dragons don't get married like humans; we just mate, and that's pretty much all you need to know. Now comes skills, abilities, and things that you'll do separately depending on if you're a guy versus a girl . . ." Toothless said as he got cut off.

"Hey Hiccup, mind helping me for a few minutes?!" Gobber hollered.

I arose. "I'll be right back bud." I said as I walked into the forge.

"Ah, there you are. Mind re-heating the ambers?" Gobber asked me.

I nodded and used my blue plasma ball. The ambers sizzled and crackled with new life.

"Thank you Hiccup, that's what I needed. You can go back to talking with Toothless and Astrid." Gobber said.

I nodded and returned to where I was previously laying down. I gestured for Toothless to continue.

"Okay… so the things we guys do is challenge each other to fights, races etc. Meanwhile, Astrid has the pleasure of relaxing and talking to the other females on the island. To be honest, I don't know too much about what the females do because we guys are not allowed to go to their side of the island; unless invited to do so." Toothless said.

"So what happens you know, for dragons that have mates?" Astrid asked timidly.

"Well, that all depends. I've seen dragon parents take turns with their hatchlings; one day they'll be with their father, the next day they'll be with their mother." Toothless replied.

Astrid heaved a sigh.

I really think this is going to be hard for her to become accustomed to. The information Toothless has given us so far resembles what our lives were like when we were human. As kids Ruffnut and Astrid hung out by themselves while the boys played contact sports and other things I was never capable of doing.

"Hey, don't worry Astrid. I think it'd be better to be with the other female dragons than with me and the other male dragons, because I really don't want to have a repeat of what happened in the arena this afternoon." I told her.

She nodded in understanding.

Gobber emerged later with Toothless' new prosthetic tail and attached it.

Toothless whipped his tail around, again, and the tail flew open.

"Now we can all fly together, right?" I said grinning madly.

Both Toothless and Astrid smiled and nodded.

-Later that night in the great hall-

Astrid's P.O.V

As we walked through the doors of the great hall, everything felt new. We're going to be eating here tonight. Most of the dragons here on Berk get fed by their riders, but, since the three of us can't exactly have that, we've just decided to take what we can get from Legs. Yeah apparently that's Meatlug's advice: if you act cute and adorable he'll give you food.

Hiccup snarled to get our friends' attention.

"Huh oh hey you two, Hiccup are you okay now?" Fishlegs asked.

Hiccup nodded and purred or from our point of view he said:

"Yeah Fishlegs I'm fine. I'm still feeln' the effects though."

"Yeah, so where's Snoutlout? Did he stay in the arena with everyone else when we left with Gobber?" I asked.

"If that low life Hel forsaken nightmare dares to show his face to me again, or tries to hurt you, or tries to mate with you, I'll make sure he doesn't live to see tomorrow!" Hiccup growled angrily.

"Hey, calm down Hiccup. You don't have to go crazy. He'll probably think twice before he messes around again." I said calmly rubbing my head against him.

He purred and smiled at me.

"Thanks Astrid, that makes me feel a lot better." He said nuzzling me.

"giggles You're welcome." I said.

Then I saw Snoutlout walking towards us. He grabbed a table knife and ran at Hiccup.

"Hiccup! Look out!" I screamed.

Hiccup moved like lighting and now sat by the fire pit, growling threats and a curse or two; nothing too bad considering what just happened.

"What are you thinking, Snoutlout? Are you trying to kill Hiccup?" I hissed.

"You will not be let off this time, Hiccup. That stunt you pulled today in the arena shows that you're a dangerous threat, and threats must be dealt with!" Snoutlout sneered.

"Growling you wouldn't know what a threat was even if it bit you in the butt Snoutlout!" Hiccup hissed.

"I've talked to Uncle Stoick and he's decided that I can destroy you before you take a human life!" Snoutlout said.

Everything is silenced right then and there. Did he really say that Stoick wants his own son…destroyed?

Hiccup's eyes were wide with shock and fear. The blazing fire burned in his emerald green eyes, as he backed up shaking his head.

"No, no… that doesn't sound like my father, this can't be true, it has to be a lie. I-It just has to be!" Hiccup cried.

He turned and ran, bursting out of the great hall; knocking over some Vikings. I knew I had to go after him, but right now he needed time alone.

I looked back at Snoutlout and screeched in fury in his face. He is so lucky I'm not using my fire, or this would be a very painful day for him. I just hoped Hiccup would be okay for a little while.

"He'll be okay Astrid, I promise." Toothless sighed.

"Hey, this is Hiccup we're talking about. He's got to learn things too." Stormfly interjected.

I nodded and looked back at the door and sighed. "Be careful…Hiccup." I thought sending a prayer to the gods or whoever was watching over Hiccup's spirit.

Hiccup's P.O.V

"Breathing hard, while running through the forest No, that can't be true. It can't be true, dad would never say that about me! I'm not a monster! I don't have to be destroyed! All I did was protect Astrid! How does that make me a monster? I don't understand. I won't let anything hurt her, and I'd lay down my life for her. I would fight a battle against the gods to protect her, but all anyone ever sees is that we, dragons, are monsters! I want to know all I can about dragons' secrets." I cried/yelled.

I came to the cove and glided down into it. I tried to cry but there were no tears.

Apparently, dragons can't cry. All we can do is whimper sobs. I sounded like a complete idiot. Dragons are stronger than this…I- I shouldn't be like this, then again, I'm still part human.

"I wish I didn't have to see you like this, Hiccup." A voice said.

I turned to see my father standing not far from me.

I moaned a half-growl of confusion, and a half-wine, I didn't want him to see me like this - all weak and sad, - so I turned away.

"Hiccup I-I, need to talk to you." He said.

I glared at him; pain and anger welling up inside me. He must have noticed and took a few steps backwards. I snorted and looked away.

"Hiccup- I'm so sorry. I didn't realize what I had said until after he left." My dad said.

I whipped my head around, and my eyes widened in disbelief: my own father wanted me dead, and he thinks that a simple sorry will cut it!? I can't accept that! I will never accept that my own father wants me dead! My eyes narrowed and my pupils turned to slits. I bared my teeth, growling as I stocked towards him. I cannot let him go without showing him that I'm not a threat. I felt like attacking him but stop myself before I hurt him. But the thought, it's not right, and I know it. So why am I so confused to make my move? Suddenly, my body made the decision for me…

I bolted forwards, ready to strike him down. When, suddenly something hit me hard and I stumbled backwards. I shook my head and looked up to see Astrid standing in front of my dad.

"Stand down Hiccup. He has no weapon!" Astrid said.

"Y-You don't understand, he wants me dead. He told Snoutlout to destroy me because I'm dangerous. All I did was protect you, but all they ever see is monsters! Well, when I'm done, I'll really be the so called monster they claim us dragons to be! Dragons are not our enemies, they're our allies, and I'm done listening to people who are afraid and talk badly about our Kin. I will no longer stand around and watch when another war is so imminent! So get out of my way Astrid!" I snarled.

"No, Hiccup. If you want to fight, you'll have to fight me. I can't let you hurt your father." Astrid said calmly.

"That man is nothing but the enemy, Astrid. He's never been there when I needed him! No one was! The only ones who ever really cared, and were there when I needed them the most, was my mom and Toothless. They were there to take away my frustrations and sadness." I growled.

"Now you have me…Hiccup. I understand that you're upset and angered by his actions, but you have to learn to forgive again. As a dragon, your emotions have changed. Ever since the transformation, so have mine. So, we have to work together to fix up our broken personalities." She said softly.

She walked over to me and held me close to her. Her scent calmed me and I whimpered.

"I-I didn't mean to say all those things. I-I didn't have any idea I would react that way and it scared me." I said sadly, my body shook from the now dropping adrenaline rush.

"I know my dark knight." She said.

"Thank you my beautiful snowflake." I purred.

We touched snouts then hugged each other. I knew, in that moment, that Astrid needed me as much as I needed her.

I turned back to my dad who looked too stunned to move. Did I really go too far?

I wrote in the dust, and then backed away so my dad could read it without having to worry about me trying to kill him.

About what just happened… I was sad and angry, something I had never experienced at the same time before. So, I just went crazy and I want to say that I'm so sorry. I forgive you, can you forgive me?

I looked at my father with pleading eyes, hoping… searching for a sign.

"Come here you!" Dad yelled.

I tried to run but dad grabbed me and pulled me into a death hug.

I released a squeak and he released me. My lungs could finally have access to air once again. Then I smiled and he did too.
