"No! Lucy!" Natsu Dragneel cries over Lucy's unmoving body. "Please don't be…"
He couldn't say that word out loud.
Porlyusica and Wendy pushes through the sea of Magnolians gather around Lucy's body.
Wendy instantly tries a healing spell on Lucy, but it did not take effect since her flesh is physically unharmed, yet.
Porlyusica, being older, instantly checks Lucy's pulse and her breathing. It was weak and, almost unnoticeable.
Natsu's mind is blank. He had no idea how he managed to walk back to the guild behind Porlyusica and Wendy.
Without noticing, tears dripped slowly from his eyes. There had only been a few times since he cried. When Lisanna and the future Lucy died, and when Igneel left him. Every single time he felt so useless, and this time, if he had only gone with Lucy, to protect whatever—whoever did this to her!
But little to Natsu's knowledge, a certain ash white haired man is watching him cry, from the shadows, smiling to himself, if only his mouth can move…
When they sat down at the guildhall and put Lucy on the table, Porlyusica explained Lucy's physical and mental problems.
"Lucy Heartfilia's body is untouched, like there is no harm or anything on her body, but her brain…"Porlyusica mumbled something under her breath.
"What is it? What is wrong with her brain? Tell me!"Natsu suddenly found himself yelling across the table at Porlyusica.
"Well, unlike other parts of her body, which are using minimum energy, her brain is actually burning up a lot more energy than normal. My hypotheses are either she is under a sleeping spell, or someone is manipulating her mind, or her mind is out of her body somehow."
All of the possibilities seem harsh towards Natsu. How could his friend, best friend, or maybe more than a friend, be under a coma? Natsu realized that Lucy is something more important to him, more than just a friend. She isn't like Erza or like Gray or even like Happy. Why does he go on missions with Lucy anyways? She is not particularly strong and sometimes—sometimes she is a little weak and needs help. He could've gone with Lisanna or other people!
Meanwhile on the other side of the guild hall…
Lisanna and Mirajane sat behind the bar. Anyone who can see Lisanna's face can obviously tell that she is angry. But the problem is, everyone turns their attention on Lucy, even Master Makarov did. She hasn't been an "important" member ever since she came back from Edolas. Only the first couple of days people crowded around Lisanna. But after they finish catching up with her, they left her alone. Natsu went on jobs immediately after. Most of the time, Natsu does not even look at her when he picks up guild requests with Lucy from the request board…
Lisanna smiled to her self: "Now she can't anymore. I will have Natsu to my self…"
But Mirajane looked at her angrily.
"Lisanna, Lucy is one of your fellow guild mates! You cannot think of her so badly, or curse her. She will wake up somehow. I am sure Natsu will find a way."
" Mira-ni-chan! Can't you see? She is the one taking my place, I am the one who is supposed to sit beside Natsu everyday, walk with him, play with Happy, cook for him, go on job requests with him, do everything with him, not Lucy!" Lisanna snaps.
"She has been the center of attention on every big event that happened! She was the one who went on Galuna Island on a S class request, yet she was not punished? She was the one who brought Phantom Lord to our guild and destroyed because she was foolish enough to have ran away from the home of a millionaire! She was also the one who went on The Tower of Heaven and fought with Oración Seis, she was also the one who had the clock piece when Zentopia attacked. She was chosen to participate in the Grand Magic Games, not me! She only has 12 keys, yet I have way more animal souls to take over!
She got to fight with Dragons and see her future self while I got to stay in the hotel and watch…" Lisanna sniffed "I was the one supposed to be in her place…"
Mira put her hand on Lisanna's shoulder.
"It is alright. But never try to put yourself in Lucy's place anymore… Only Elfman and me cannot save you from Zeref. We don't want to lose you again, this time, you will not end up in Edolas."
Meanwhile on the other side of the guild hall…
Natsu listens intensely as Wendy tries to heal Lucy's brain. She had done it with the priest from Zentopia already, but Natsu cannot allow her to make any mistakes. He did not notice that Carla moved silently between Natsu and Wendy.
The guild's door bursed open. The newcomer is no one except Lucy's Celestial Spirit Loki. He looks very panicked.
"I just felt Lucy summon me and something is preventing the gate to open. It happened several times… I thought she was in danger but…"
He fell silent as he saw Lucy's body lying still on the table. "Impossible! But I just felt her summon me!"
Levy picks up her keys and shows them to Loki. "That proves the third hypothesis that Porlyusica made was correct, if her mind is controlled, then her body is as well. That means her spirit is out of her body right now. But the question is, who put her there?"
Levy said out loud.
Natsu clenches his fists tightly. It must be one of their pervious enemies… Fairy Tail has made many enemies in the past, it is too hard to count…Oracion Sais, Grimore Heart, Raven Tail… it is impossible to count. For now, all he knows is that Lucy is in grave danger.
Ignoring people's shouts, Natsu runs away from the guild hall towards Lucy's house. All he can think of is Lucy. He did not even bring Happy with him. He wants to be alone. He has always been abandoned. First by his parents, then by Igneel, and now by Lucy again? He cannot stand this any longer. He runs into Lucy's room and jumps on her bed. He sniffs again and again, until Lucy's scent is completely gone from her room. Natsu sat there, and cries when he sees a picture of him and Lucy on the nightstand. He is desperate for Lucy again.
But Natsu had no idea.
More than half a year has passed by in the dream realm. Since it had only been half a day in the real life world, it is impossible for Óneiro to send his creations to Lucy. Over the half years, food wasn't a big problem, the boredom is.
Lucy Heartfilia's body is tanned with muscles under her skin. Her every movement is precise and she has enough skills to use her celestial whip. She changed. She hasn't talked to anyone in this half year and she is lonely. But when she saw Natsu run into her room on the lacrima TV and cry like a baby, her tears drops and she runs to the exact same spot Natsu sat in the other realm, and rests her head on the shoulder of the Natsu on the other world.
"Oh Natsu…"
But then, both of them felt a connection. Lucy feels fire through her veins, and Natsu felt something heavenly flowing in his body.
They have a connection.
