CHAPTER TWO... BREAKFAST WITH THE GOLDEN TRIO
Winding her way down the stairs Hermione made her way to the the kitchen to join the others for breakfast. Luckily most of the order were with their families, happy to not have to stay at Grimwald awaiting orders now that the war was over. Hermione smiled over at Molly timidly, and bid her good morning. The Weasleys were far more somber than ever in Hermione's memory. Fred's death weighed heavily on everyone's mind. But no one more so than George. He was barely present for meals, and when he did deem his presence necessary he rarely spoke. She sat at the table across from Harry who looked like he was trying to hide his happiness. It didn't feel right, being to happy around all the grief. Hermione looked from him to Ron silently trying to convey with out spelling out her wish to speak else where. Luckily Harry caught on quickly enough. Shoveling his last bite of breakfast into his mouth he explained to Molly that the three of them would be back shortly in order to clean up after themselves. She waived them on saying to not worry about it, she would get the mess. She felt the need to keep herself occupied as of late anyway.
Hermione Snatched a scone off of the table and quickly followed them out of the room. As soon as the trio reached the boy-who-lived's room, Hermione tackled her best friend of seven years. " Harry, I am so happy for you! You and Ginny deserve to finally have a chance to be together." Harry looked between his two friends smiling widely. " I do right!?" Ron looked at Harry and slapped him on the back. " I'd give you the speech Potter, but I think Ginny can more than handle herself. Speaking of which, Hermione Jean Granger, would you..." Hermione clamped her hand over Ron's mouth. "Don't even say it Ron. You and Harry are like my brothers, you know that. We've already had this discussion anyway. We bicker too much for us to last as a couple. I appreciate the sentiment, I really do . But we both deserve the chance to be happy. Better one of us than neither of us." She cut him off quickly hugging him.
Ron looked slightly relieved. He knew she was speaking the truth. "I had to ask though 'Mione. Your my best friend. Well you and the boy-who-lived here." He said, wrapping both of them in a group hug. This was why she loved her boys, they would always try to protect her and she would give her life for either of them.
"So, when are you and Ginny going to tie the knot?" Hermione asked Harry as the three friends sat on the bed. Harry's cheeks turned red. " I already talked to Kingsley, my appointment is tomorrow, and Ginny's is Thursday. So long as everything goes well, as soon as Molly can plan it." Hermione's eyes grew wide at that. Before she could say anything though Harry continued speaking. "I had already talked to Arthur and Molly a couple of days ago. I would have talked to you both about it first, but I didn't want to chance being over heard." Harry looked away guiltily. Hermione and Ron both looked slightly shocked. " You already had this all figured out, huh? Blimey mate. Well I bet dad appreciated you talking to him first." Ron said looking him in the eye. Harry was beginning to look slightly uncomfortable at all of the attention his friends were giving him, so Hermione finally took pity and changed the subject. "So, Ron? Have any witches in mind?" Hermione teased. Ron's face turned a slight pink, even his ears tinged with color. "Luna Lovegood..." Ron mumbled. Harry and Hermione both looked taken aback for a second. "Ron that's wonderful. Have you talked to her yet? She is such a sweet person. Even tempered. You would even each other out." Hermione gushed. Ron looked relieved that his best friend didn't think he went round the twist for going for "Loony Lovegood" as she was unfortunately nick named in school. The next hour was spent with Ron explaining to them what about the blond caught his attention, and discussing his insecurities over his possible rejection. "Well you will just have to talk to her Ron. That's all I can tell you." Hermione reasoned.
Soon it was time to meet everyone for lunch, so the trio left the confines of Harry's quarters to meet with the family downstairs. " Hermione, do you have anyone in mind?" Harry asked as Ron rushed past his infamous Weasley appetite hurrying him along. Hermione shrugged her shoulders, Harry would have to talk with her about it later he supposed.
Authors note: if any one has read please review . I'm not certain who I wish to pair Hermione with just yet it's a toss up between between George or Severus Snape. I know polar opposites, right? I love to read both pairings. So if you have a preference feel free to review to let me know.
