Notes:

Writing Style - This is my first attempt on writing a fanfiction, a cross-over fanfiction, and it is in English, English is not my first language, it may contain grammar errors, spellings and redundancy of word usage (because my English is limited to the stuff I read and hear from).

Universe – Nura takes place after the end of the manga (Nue is defeated), Inuyasha takes place after three years from Naraku's defeat in the anime (just a few weeks after Kagome returned), and Kamisama Kiss takes place before Tomoe's curse (from Kuromaru) activates.

Characters – A lot of characters might fall out-of-character especially from InuYasha because it's been years since I last watched that anime.

POVs – I'll mostly use the third person's point of view.

Culture/References – I'm not familiar with the Japanese culture so I might point out some wrong information (please correct me if I get something wrong ).

Other – BOLD means a word is emphasized or an onomatopoeia and ITALICS means thought and /UNDERLINED/ are author's notes.

DISCLAIMER- I do not own Nurarihyon no Mago, Kamisama Hajimemashita/Kiss, and InuYasha.

Chapter 2

At Nanami's school

"NANAMI!" Tomoe excitedly slams at nanami's desk trying to wake her up.

Nanami, who was always awake, just diving her head on the desk and sulking, shocked at Tomoe's action.

"What's wrong? Don't tell me you're sick again?" Tomoe asked in an annoyed tone.

Nanami ignored Tomoe and watch the nice scenery outside the windows, she's still mad, but most-likely jealous, that Tomoe actually loved yukiji and treats her like a princess, while he treats nanami like a burden.

Facing Tomoe in a joyful expression.

"I'm listening... What did you say?" Nanami asks. Tomoe got a bit creeped of Nanami's instant expression change.

"I received a message from Mizuki, he says that next week a middle school field trip is going to visit and they chose our shrine as one of their places."

"Really!? ...is that great?" Tomoe grew a vein on his forehead.

"It's more than great!" He angrily answered. "If we get more visitor then our shrine will surely get known, and your power will increase if they pray and be able to maintain the shrine by yourself."

"Really!? That's great!" 'Well, there's some good news' Nanami thought.

At the Mikage shrine, Mizuki and the Onikiri are busy preparing and cleaning while Tomoe is busy yelling at them. Meanwhile, nanami is excited and nervous at the same time.

"Tomoe, where are the bells!?" Mizuki shouted outside. He was talking about the bell for the praying table/AN: I know nothing about shrines/. Nanami felt guilty for not helping so she picked up her wallet and Tomoe's (lol) and ran outside.

"I'm going to buy groceries!" She shouted at Tomoe after leaving the shrine grounds, Tomoe was against her plan but he was too late to stop her due to him glued with chores. He just hope Nanami won't get into trouble.

Then he noticed nanami wasn't wearing her hood to hide her power. "NANAMI!" Tomoe's voice cracked and angrily do the chores 10 times faster so he could follow nanami. .

"Wait! I still have to clean the torii gate, swipe the stairs, pluck out weeds..." Tomoe muttered a whole lot of chores he needs to finish to himself and gave up on the thought of following nanami. He faced Mizuki, the look on Tomoe's face made Mizuki scared and hopes he's not planning on making him work till his feet gave up.

"I can't believe this..." Tomoe muttered "Mizuki, go follow Nanami!" He commanded.

"Wha- what about the chores!?"

"You're a shinshi! You don't hesitate on protecting your master!"

As Tomoe finishes his last sentence Mizuki summoned his snake friend and flew away to look for nanami.

"You're a shinshi- You don't hesitate on protecting your master-" mizuki mutters, imitating Tomoe in the most insulting way possible, to himself as he hovers down the city . "He's a shinshi too, why can't he leave those chores to us!?" Mizuki argued with himself. Normally he would be excited and happy for looking after Nanami but he was too busy ranting about how Tomoe acts.

Then suddenly a piece of paper flew towards him, blinded Mizuki's eyesight and outbalances him while he tries to pull the paper off his face. As he squirmed, he heared a young girl's voice from below. A small bit of paper was lifted from his face able to let him peek at whoever the voice belongs too. He struggled to see who it was when his legs slipped off his snake's back and he plummeted to the ground.

Cries of pain can be heard from Mizuki. "Who are you?" He peeked at the person who asked him. "Why didn't my talisman repelled you?"

Mizuki was able to pull the paper off his face, taking a look at the paper it was indeed a talisman. He took a quick look at his surroundings only to see that he fell on a part of the market with less humans around, he then averted his eyes to the person in front of him only to see a surprised girl with a fish (shikigami) on her hands.

"I asked who you are!?" The black haired girl asked again and was posed ready for combat.

"Are you an omniyoji?" A vein popped out of the girl's forehead as he asks a question rather than answering.

"Omniyojis these days, they are so young~" Mizuki said. Still ignoring the questions.

"Ren Te-" The girl was about to shout something but she got distracted with how Mizuki just slapped the paper on her fish shikigami without any fear of being attacked.

"How were you able to resist the powers of the talisman!?" Her voice starting to crack in a surprised way.

"Little Omniyoji, please take a closer look at my aura. I'm no ordinary spirit wandering aimlessly." Mizuki casually answered.

"I'm a shinshi."

"A God's familiar!?" She asked. She stuttered in thought *oh no, I didn't notice his aura, indeed he has a small presence of a God! I-I should apologize! Hope his master won't curse me for this* the girl cried inside.

The omniyoji, about to apologize, got cutt off by Mizuki's question.

"Hey! Did you see a high school girl wearing a pink top and shorts!?" Mizuki paced towards the omniyoji.

"Wha!?" The girl got confused of the informality Mizuki shows. She learned that Gods and their subordinates are formal and that their status is not to be laughed at. Then to her surprise, Mizuki's hands grabbed the girl's shoulder.

"Are you listening!? Did you see a high school girl wearing a pink top and shorts around here!?" He shook the girl really fast which annoyed her. "Please answer!? Tomoe's going to kill me if he knew I wasn't beside Lady Nanami!" Mizuki cried.

"Mizuki!" Nanami cried from behind the girl, she was still a few meters away. Mizuki pulled the girl beside so he could see Nanami from his view.

There they saw Nanami being chased by a headless yokai from who knows where she got it, the questionable look Mizuki gave made Nanami cry more.

"Don't just stand there Mizuki! Help me!" She cried, tears overflowing. When she was near approaching Mizuki and the omniyoji, with her limited physical abilities, tried to do a 90 degree turn and hid behind Mizuki.

Mizuki, surprised, pulled out tricks to stop the yokai. Summoning his snake venoms and sprayed it to the yokai without hurting the omniyoji. /AN: I have no Idea what Mizuki's power is other than his sake and shikis./

But that didn't do much damage at all and had Nanami the time to insult him. "Mizuki! Your attacks are useless" she cried.

"Lady Nanami-" Mizuki stopped and faced her "You don't have to state the obvious" Mizuki too cried.

During Nanami's and Mizuki's pathetic moment the headless yokai already dissolved as a proof of defeating it.

"Are you alright!?" the omniyoji asked Nanami while slowly releasing her shikigamis.

"You defeated it?" Nanami asked. Walking beside Mizuki.

The omniyoji nodded and thought about the reason she was chased. "Why do you have such a powerful aura? It's as if you're not much of a human."

Then the omniyoji saw a light on Nanami's forehead, she got a bit paled realizing that the light serves as proof of being a Land God.

'Ah! She must be the Land God of that shinshi! I'm definitely going to be cursed!' the omniyoji thought in despair.

Waking up from her thoughts, a hand hovered in front of her, gestured to shake.

"Hi! I'm Nanami... You were able to defeat that monster and saved us, thank you very much!"

"You-you're welcome..." The omniyoji hesitated to shake hands. But still managed to do it.

"Are you an ayakashi too? I haven't encountered any humans with the power to defeat ayakashi easily." With that surprising question the omniyoji girl giggled.

"What's wrong?" Nanami flustered, she felt she said something funny.

"I'm not an ayakashi, I'm an omniyoji, Kekkain Yura, pleased to meet you Land God, and I'm surprised that you didn't know I'm an omniyoji."

"An omniyoji?" Nanami questioned, Mizuki though tried to move between the two girls and told nanami to stay back, it confused her.

"What's wrong Mizuki?" Nanami asked.

"Thank you for saving my Lady and Mistress but... I won't tolerate the fact you know Lady Nanami's secret of being a Land god." Mizuki uttered while having an offensive stance.

"Mizuki..." Nanami got confused. "Huh? I don't think it's a bad thing if she knows me being a Land God..."

"That's an omniyoji, they exterminate ayakashi and masters the art of supernatural etc., they drool over power and takes-" BAM cutting off his sentence, Mizuki crouched and massaged his bump on his head.

"We don't DROOL over power!" The omniyoji shouted, her face fuming red. "As an ayakashi yourself, you must be referring to the omniyoji hundreds of generations ago. Tell you the truth, there's only a few omniyojis nowadays and my family, the Kekaiin, are one of those few omniyojis left. And we don't crave for power nor kill any ayakashi we want." She lectured Mizuki's crying face.

The long lecture made nanami in the background interested at the little omniyoji.

"Yura-chan, I think mizuki had enough of your lecture, I could already see the blood gushing out of his ears." Nanami called out.

"Su-sure... Nanami-sama..."

"Eeeh..." Nanami blushed. "You don't need to address me, just simply call me by my name.

Within a few days, it was the day of the middle school field trip to visit the Mikage Shrine. Hours before the students arrived Nanami asked Yura to help her with fixing the time-turning incense burner because neither Nanami nor Mizuki know much of it.

"It's only a crack and a bit of it fell off, but it's dangerous to use it this way." Mizuki said while holding the insence burner infront of Yura. "When I asked a friend of mine to fix it he said that omniyojis are most skilled and perfect for this job."

"So we would like to ask if you could fix it. I'm sorry to bother you with it but it's really important." Nanami pleaded. Meanwhile Tomoe is still busy with cleaning, although he noticed that Nanami brought an omniyoji, he didn't care.

"A time-turning incense burner? We do have one of these but much smaller and its power is weaker than this." Yura asked.

"That must be human-made. This one is the original passed down on to me. Do you know how to fix it?" Mizuki answered.

"Hmm..." Yura held her chin and thought for a few seconds, springing back up and facing Mizuki she said "There was this one time when one of our time-turning objects broke and my brother Akifusa used a special type of paste to glue it together."

"Brother? Aww you have brothers? "Nanami gleamed in awe.

"Actually he's just a relative but I do have a brother and he's such a pain to be with" Yura explained and changed the subject immediately "anyway, what do you use the time-turning insence for? Fortune-telling?" /AN: When mizuki first introduced the time turning incense burner he said that it sends the soul back to the past where the body remains in the present. The soul would know the events happening in the past hence Fortune telling can be used here./

Nanami nodded.

"Hmm...Since a Land God is asking, I'll try to ask brother Akifusa then, luckily he's here with me at one of our mansions."

"Ma-mansions?" Nanami got surprised. "Ah, take the incense with you then, it would be rude to ask your brother to come here just to fix this...take Mizuki too, it's faster to fly than walk"

"Lady Nanami! It's an omniyoji mansion filled with omniyoji! I'll definitely be killed!" Mizuki complained.

"Not to worry, if you're with me, they won't think you're an enemy." Yura explained thinking about the visiting Yokai from the Nura clan.

"See? It's okay." Nanami said. Then after a few more complaints from Mizuki, the two took off and Nanami waved goodbye.
