Chapter 2: The Meeting

Here's another chapter guys. I would've updated sooner but I was kinda caught up with watching How I Met Your Mother, Hahaa. I am so glad I have so much free time on the holidays. I love not having to any school work, although on the holidays I like disappear to most people which kinda sucks. I don't have any phone credit and I don't go on Facebook – because it sucks - so I don't really talk to my friends that much. Hahaa.

Thanks for the reviews, favourites and follows I really appreciate it. XD I hope this chapter isn't a disappointment.

EDIT – 31-01-16: Okay, so when I originally wrote this; the manga hadn't finished the Grand Magic Games part of the arc… if I remember correctly. So I guess this could be an AU where the eclipse gate didn't exist...? Oh well, it is fan-fiction and anything can happen… right?

I was meant to post the rewrite of this chapter over a month ago – but life got in the way.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Fairy Tail. Hiro Mashima does.

Chapter Two

At the end of the games, Fairy Tail prevailed. The last day was tough, but they managed to pull through. Fairy Tail – along with many of the other guilds – decided it would be fun to celebrate their victory. Shouts were heard throughout the streets nearby, guild mates were getting drunk and brawling.

Lucy

Walking down the streets of Crocus, Lucy had decided to leave the party early. It was close to midnight and far from the bar – it was rather quiet and peaceful. Looking around the city; she could see the colourful flowers that decorated the walkways that had made the city famous. Pausing at the bridge she was crossing, she stared at the river that had reflected the full moon – if she was here a few hours earlier, she might've gotten to see the eclipse.

"What are you doing out so late girly?" Looking over to the direction of the voice, she saw a hooded man. "Especially when you're all alone." You could practically hear the dirty thoughts running through his head as he walked closer. "Come on you're not scared are you?" Lucy couldn't help but shoot the man the nastiest look she could muster – men like this was what she hated the most in this world.

"Aw, don't give me that look sweetie. I know a girl like you would like to have some fun." The pervert claimed as he looked her up and down, slowly – making Lucy feel a little self-conscious.

"How dare you think of me like that – who do you…" pausing as he was right in front of her.

"Oh so you haven't done it. Just looking at you makes me think you're rather experienced." With that statement, he had crossed the line. Before either could blink, she had smacked him right across the face.

"Shut up." Lucy growled, turning so she could get away from the man - but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him; into his chest. "Let go of me." The blonde shouted.

"Come on princess, don't you think you need to make it up to me for that slap." The man said as he roughly grabbed her other wrist, unknowingly restricting her use of magic.

"Let go of me!" She hissed, struggling to get free from his grasp. It wasn't long until she was let go – causing her to almost tumble over, grabbing hold of the bridges railing to regain her balance. Turning her head to look behind her – she saw her harasser unconscious. Her attention was then brought to the young man standing near her – with messy black hair and red eyes, though his face was hard to see due to the lack of lighting.

"Thank you for helping me." Lucy got a smile in response; he walked up next to her and took in her appearance – obviously inspecting her for any possible wounds. "I'm fine; he didn't have a chance to hurt me." Nodding, his smile softened before disappearing completely.

"Why did you help me?" She asked, there was a small silence before he finally replied.

"Why wouldn't I? You did obviously not want the attention – so I had to help." Looking away, the man seemed to be thinking hard about something before looking back at her with a smile.

Why did I help you? Because you were being attacked – I guess the real question is; why am I here? Peeking at the blonde he saw that she was distracted – there was something on her mind. Why is it that I can't stop thinking about you? Taking in her beauty – the glow of her skin caused by the moonlight, her eyes sparkling from the star filled sky – she was other worldly. Rogue noticed that her injuries from Minerva were healed – which made him feel relieved.

"Is there something on my face?" Lucy asked, snapping him out of his daze.

"No, there isn't. Sorry for staring." There was an awkward silence before he spoke again. "I'm Rogue Cheney, a member of Sabertooth."

"Lucy Heartfilia, Fairy Tail mage." She had her hand out, signalling she wanted to shake his hand- which he quickly accepted, placing his hand on her own. "Did you want to go for a walk?" She asked hopefully, nodding – Rogue let his hand fall to his side before following her.

They spoke to each other as they walked throughout the streets, learning simple things about one another. Somehow during their walk they found a deserted plain – they had decided to rest there until they wanted to leave to the comfort of their beds. It was maybe hours before she had realized she should return to her hotel – but thinking of the distance just made her realize how tired she was.

"I think I might just go –"Her speech was cut off as she fell asleep. Rogue looked at her when he heard her coarse voice but was surprised to see her resting peacefully on the ground. He wasn't sure what to – taking her back to her own hotel would raise suspicions with Fairy Tail, anyone would get the wrong idea if a rival guild's member brought back one of their treasured members back to them unconscious – especially at this time of the day.

Shaking his head, he lifted her up – her head resting on his chest as she searched for warmth. Walking through the streets as the lights began turning off he kept his guard up in case there was anyone looking for their missing comrade.

I hope you liked it. This is basically all I did this afternoon/night; in between watching HIMYM and reading updated fanfictions. I would write something down then not like it and then rewrite. Such and annoying circle. It would be the longest I have spent on writing a chapter for any of my fanfictions, it's usually around an hour or two. I think this chapter is alright but not as good as it could've been. Hahaa.

Anyways please review or PM, I would appreciate to know what you think of this chapter. Oh and any guesses as to who was following them? (;

31-01-16: I will try to upload the rewritten chapters soon – I start my TAFE course in a few days so I will be busy, though I will be using a computer more often – if I finish my work early I will try to spend my spare time in rewriting this, but TAFE is my priority.
