CHAPTER 2
CANNON POWER
INTRO:
CUT TO:
OPEN EXT. BEACH CITY/ BEACH CITYWALK FIRES – AFTERNOON
The scene opens back up to show Beach City bathed in the golden lights of the afternoon sun. As the day was winding down to end and night would take its place several residents of the town were making their ways home or closing their businesses and locking up. One such individual was Mr. Fryman, the owner of the Beach Citywalk Fries fast food restaurant. His day had been typical; serve his customers fries, help his youngest son, Peedee with learning how to eventually run the business one day and helping his older son, Ronaldo with... well actually he left his elder son to do his own activities – no matter how bizarre they were. However, as he was returning to his store to end his shift, he did not know that he had some enthusiastic last-minute customers racing towards him.
Steven, Cat's Eye, and Amethyst ran as fast as they could across the beach toward Beach Citywalk Fries. Though when they finally reached the restaurants counter, Mr. Fryman had already entered the building.
Steven (slightly out of breath as he's running)
"Hey, Fryman," (finally reaches the counter, throwing his hand down on it) "give me the bits!"
Mr. Fryman (flips sign from open to close)
"Steven! We're closed."
Steven (disappointed)
"Aww, what?"
Amethyst (hits counter)
"Give 'em the bits!" (chants while continuously hitting the counter) "The bits, the bits…" (Steven and Cat's Eye join in)
Steven, Cat's Eye & Amethyst (all chanting and banging on the counter)
"The BITS! The BITS! The BITS!"
Though Steven was just joining in on the fun, he had forgotten that Trix was still attached to the Omnitrix, which Steven was repeatedly and unintentionally shaking with his banging.
Trix (voice shaky)
"S-ste-ven-n!"
Mr. Fryman (gesturing for them to calm down)
"Okay, okay! Take it easy on the counter, will ya?" (goes to cook fry bits)
Steven, Cat's Eye & Amethyst
"Yes!" (high-five each other)
Steven (cont., seeing that Trix dizzy, his digital eyes spiraled)
"Oh, hey you ok buddy."
Trix (dazed, shacks head, pops out of the Omnitrix and stands on the counter)
"Geeze, Steven I know you like your fry bits, but could you next time try to warn me before you do something like that?"
Steven
"Sorry."
Minutes passed as Mr. Fryman prepared the fry bits for Steven, while Steven, Trix, Cat's Eye, and Amethyst waited.
Mr. Fryman (hands Steven a bag of fry bits)
"I can give you actual fries if you want."
Steven
"Just the bits, please." (takes bag) "Thanks."
As the group was walking away from the Beach Citywalk Fries heading for the Beach House, Steven began eating some of his fry bits while Amethyst was picking a handful of bits from the bag to eat herself. Cat's Eye was walking on all fours behind them, letting Trix ride on top her head who had created a holographic version of a bag of fry bits to eat, or at least pretend to eat.
Steven (cont.)
"Ah, sunset, my favorite time of day. When the sun goes down, and the second sun gets bigger and bigger in the sky."
Amethyst (bursts out laughing)
"Yeah, that big hot second su—" (gasps, notices the mysterious large orb that looked like a sun)
Trix (shouting, seeing the mysterious orb)
"What the fuck!" (jumps off Cat's Eye to Steven and reinserts himself into the Omnitrix)
Steven (to Trix)
"Trix, language!"
Cat's Eye (panicking)
"Oh no, what is that doing here?"
Steven
"What is it?" (Amethyst picks him up and runs, Cat's Eye running behind them, while Steven drops his bits) "Ah, my bits!"
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH NEAR CRYSTAL TEMPLE
Garnet and Pearl were standing on the beach looking up at the mysterious orb, with Pearl peering through a telescope to get a better look at the thing.
Garnet
"This is bad."
Pearl
"Look at the size of it, I had no idea these things were so big!"
Amethyst (running towards them carrying Steven, Cat's Eye behind them)
"Garnet! Pearl!"
Pearl
"We saw. Some of us are trying to protect humanity." (angry) "Where were you?"
Amethyst (puts Steven down)
"... Eating fry bits." (Pearl sighs)
Steven
"Oh, can I see?" (peers through the telescope)
As Steven looked through the telescope at the mysterious orb, the panels on its sides began folding back, revealing a large eye with a Red Diamond pupil that stared right back at Steven and the Gems.
Steven (cont.)
"Woah. It's a giant eyeball! Awesome!"
Pearl (angrily)
"NOT awesome! It's a Red Eye!"
Steven
"A Red Eye?! It's going to infect us all!"
Garnet
"That's pink eye, Steven." (Amethyst laughs)
Trix (popping out of the Omnitrix)
"Ok, so what's a Red Eye then?"
Cat's Eye
"Red Eye's are scout drones that Gems use."
Pearl
"And it's going to crash into Beach City and crush us, along with a bunch of oblivious, innocent people! We have to stop it."
Steven
"What are we going to do?"
Garnet (adjusts visor)
"The only thing powerful enough to destroy it is a Light Cannon that belonged to Rose Quartz."
Steven
"My mom?"
Amethyst (moans angrily)
"If Rose were here, this would be so easy."
Pearl
"I know, but she's not, and the cannon is missing. We'll have to find another solution."
Trix
"Ahem, I think we've got this." (motioning to Steven)
Garnet
"Mm, probably not. The Red Eye is made of Painite, one of the most strongest materials in the world."
Pearl
"And I doubt any of your creatures could hardly scratch it."
Steven
"Well if the canon belonged to my mom, I bet my dad knows where it is." (eyes become stars) "He can help us save the day!" (silence) "Huh? Eah?!"
Pearl (sugarcoats her opinion of Greg)
"Greg is... nice, Steven, but I doubt Rose would entrust someone like him with such a powerful weapon."
Amethyst
"Your dad is kind of a mess, Steven." (puts hand on Steven's shoulder)
Pearl & Cat's Eye (shouting)
"AMETHYST!"
Amethyst
"I'm just sayin', even if she did leave it with him, he probably broke it, or lost it, or dropped it in the ocean by now."
Garnet
"True."
Steven
"No way, I'm sure he's just keeping it somewhere safe. I'll go ask him."
Garnet
"We can handle this, Steven." (to Amethyst) Ready?
Garnet picked up Amethyst and tossed her at the Red Eye, though when she impacted the orb, it caused no effect, making Amethyst fall into the ocean.
Steven
"Ugh, I'm gonna go."
Pearl (half-heartedly)
"... Okay, good luck."
As Steven ran off for his father's car wash business IT'S A WASH, he brought the Omnitrix up to look at. The highly advanced watch glowed brightly with an activation beep sounding, Trix's dial rose up and changing from a digital face to a diamond-shaped interface with silhouetted icons. Steven adjusted the dial, switching through a few of the icons until he stopped on an insectoid creature that resembled a fly. Steven held his hand over the core and pressed it down. The Omnitrix gave a burst of bright green energy which surrounded the whole area as Steven's DNA began to change.
Steven's bones began to elongate and reform, unnaturally changing their shape, with him growing a green exoskeleton over his skin. A black exoskeletal like material with a yellow stripe on the middle began covering his head with four pedunculated eyes growing out of the sides of his head, each glowing green energy from the eye holes. Sharp fangs and insectoid pinchers on the sides of his mouth replaced his teeth. His waist began elongating and his legs fused, with both his waist and legs becoming an abdomen with six insectoid legs sprouting from the sides (each pair has a slightly different appearance from the others) his ankles becoming a long tail and his feet becoming a large and sharp black stinger-blade. His arms became skinny with three razor sharp, black claws. From his back sprouted long lime-green fly wings, each being protected with dark green and dark pink beetle-like shells. His clothing morphed into a bodysuit the same shade of pink as Steven's shirt, with yellow lines separating each pair of his legs, black shoulder pads, each with yellow hollow stars on the center, and the Omnitrix on his chest and Steven's gemstone on his belly.
After a flash of green light signaled the transformation's completion, Steven/ Bugbomb flew off in search of his father.
CUT TO:
EXT. IT'S A WASH
It took a while, but Steven/ Bugbomb eventually made it to It's a Wash. Located at the corner of Waterman and Thayer, the car wash had two main sections with the car wash being in an "L" shape and what seems to be an office adjoined to the wash. On the top was a logo with an elephant presumably dousing itself with water and the business name. And in the parking area was Greg's Van. The Van was a white mid-1970's Dodge Tradesman with an elaborate custom paint job; an outer-space mural with asteroids, shooting stars, and planets combined with a purple and white "Mr. Universe" logo and red, orange, and blue stripes.
Steven/ Bugbomb (bangs on the van's back door)
"Dad, it's me! Dad, are you in there? Wake up! We have to save... the— WORLD!" (climbs on van) Dad! (trips and sets off car alarm, smiles)
Bursting out of the van with a waffle iron in his hand was Greg. He was a plump middle-aged man with a dark-beige beard surrounding his mouth. Greg had taupe hair styled in a mullet that went down to his waist, with a large bald spot on the top of his head. He had a tan line on his shoulders and feet and bushy taupe eyebrows. He was wearing a white tank top, with long or short gray pants.
Greg (shouting)
"Who's there? I have a waffle iron!"
Steven/ Bugbomb (on top of the van)
"Dad, it's me!"
Trix
"Hey, Mr. Universe."
Suddenly, a bright flash of red light enveloped the alien on top Greg's Van, and when it vanished Greg saw his son sitting in its place.
Greg (looks up, his eyes squint tiredly, turns the van alarm off with keys)
"Steven? Trix?" (Steven jumps down and hugs his dad) "I almost waffled your faces! What are you guys doing up so late?"
Steven
"What do you mean? The sun just went down an hour ago."
Greg (blushes)
"Oh, heh. It was a... slow day at the carwash. Anyway, what's up? Just needed to see your old man, pal around, learn some lessons about life?"
Steven (blushes)
"No! We need the light cannon that belonged to Mom, to blow up that eyeball!" (points to the Red Eye)
Greg
"Eyeball?"
Trix (points)
"That one!"
Amethyst (Amethyst is seen flying towards the Red Eye but falls back into the ocean)
"Raaaah!"
Greg
"Wait, is that a magical thing? The Gems told me not to get involved with magic stuff. It... it could be dangerous or interfere with what's left of my hair." (rubs hair)
Steven
"But they need Mom's cannon. You've gotta know where it is, like a cave dungeon or a cloud fortress!"
Trix
"Or in a clam at the bottom of the ocean!"
As the boys listed off locations of where the light cannon could be, Greg picked up the waffle iron and threw it back into the van and closed its back doors.
Greg (turning back to the boys)
"Well, I don't know about all that. But I have an idea where it might be."
CUT TO:
EXT. U-STOR
Greg, Steven, and Trix were walking towards a storage unit. It's logo, which was painted on the side and on a larger building behind the one the guys were walking towards, was a large yellow U with STOR painted in red and in smaller letters.
Steven
"A magical storage unit!" (rushes to U-Stor)
Greg
"Ha, not exactly. But some would say there's magic inside. (winks as Steven and Trix who looks at him cluelessly) It's just a shed I use to keep things that don't fit in the van. If it's anywhere, it'll be in here."
He opens the door and reveals a shed filled to the brim with boxes and clutter.
Trix (notices that there wasn't a lock on the door)
"Greg, I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but invest in some security."
Steven walked up to the shed and examined a stack of boxes which fell over at his touch.
Trix
"On second thought, I don't think you'd need it. There's so much stuff that no one would know what to steal. I'm not sure if we're gonna be able to find the canon Steven."
Steven
"Well we could always turn into Ghostfreak and phase our way through."
Trix
"Yeah, but you know I can only keep our alien forms up for so long, and going alien twice so soon would shorten the time we could be Ghostfreak. We'd get stuck in there."
Steven (puts his hand to his chin as he thinks)
"Hmmm, aha!" (slams fist in hand) "I think I've got an idea." (ties a flashlight to his head with a sock and wraps an electric cord around his waist) "This way you can pull us back out dad." (gives the other end of the electric cord to Greg) "Alright, here we go."
Steven brought the Omnitrix up to look at. The highly advanced watch glowed brightly with an activation beep sounding, Trix's dial rose up and changing from a digital face to a diamond-shaped interface with silhouetted icons. Steven adjusted the dial, switching through a few of the icons until he stopped on a ghost-like creature. Steven held his hand over the core and pressed it down. The Omnitrix gave a burst of bright green energy which surrounded the whole area as Steven's DNA began to change.
Steven's bones began to dissipate and reform, unnaturally changing their shape, with his skin becoming deathly pale until it became completely grey with glowing green lines all over his body and a single black line running across his spiked head, containing a single, slit pupiled, green glowing eye. His legs dispersed and morphed into a long tail, with the end shaped like a spear. Pieces of his tail, spiked arms and shoulders were halfway morphed into green flames, burning brightly with a ghostly feel. His hands had four razor sharp-clawed fingers. Around his chest was a golden metal star that had the Omnitrix in the center, with five glowing green lines connecting the Omnitrix with each point of the metal star. Keeping the metal star attached to the ghost alien were golden chains around his neck, arms, and tail. His gemstone was located on his belly.
Greg
"Good luck!" (Steven/ Ghostfreak fly up and phase into the shed, Greg shivers) "Man that one freaks me out."
As Steven/ Ghostfreak flew through the shed he passed all sorts of old belongings, some that Greg had totally forgotten was in there. These items included a painting of a cat, a lamp, stacks of newspapers, a giant fish, a giant hat, some chess pieces, a boom box, a chair, a giant bottle, a lance, two mattresses, a fishing rod, an umbrella, a pool table, Li'l Butler VHS tapes, a T.V., a pet carrier, and more.
Steven/ Ghostfreak (flying through the shed, voice creepy)
"Woah, cool! It's like a dad museum." (goes deeper) "There it is!" (pulls down golf clubs)
Trix (beeping from the Omnitrix on Steven/ Ghostfreak's metal star)
"Do you golf?"
Greg
"Eh, I'd like to think of myself as someone who would golf... eventually."
Steven/ Ghostfreak (notices cannon shaped object)
"Hmm, yes! ... A drum." (flew away, only to fly back and hit the drum, before continuing to rummage) "No, no…" (gasps at seeing what looks like a cannon) "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Is this—" (instead it was a T-Shirt Cannon, which he shoots) "'Buy T-shirt Cannons'?"
Trix
"Why would anyone have this!?"
Steven/ Ghostfreak (notices box full of CDs)
"Hey, there's a bunch of copies of your old CD!"
Steven/ Ghostfreak grabbed one of the CDs, labeled Let Me Drive My Van (Into Your Heart), and stored it inside his ecto-body, which would later appear in his pocket as Steven.
Greg
"Huh. Oh, man, I couldn't give those things away. You know, before I ran the car wash, when I was a one-man band, I traveled the whole country."
Steven/ Ghostfreak (chuckle)
"I know, Dad."
Greg
"When I came to play a concert here in Beach City, no one showed up except—"
Trix
"A homeless guy?"
Greg
"No."
Steven/ Ghostfreak
"An ALLIGATOR!"
Greg
"No, it was your mother."
Steven/ Ghostfreak (goes deeper)
"Hahaha, I know."
Greg
"And we were always together after that. Until she gave up her physical form to bring you into the world. I don't know what a magic lady like her ever saw in a plain old dope like me."
Trix
"Steve, I don't think I can hold anymore."
Steven/ Ghostfreak
"It's ok buddy, you rest up."
Trix
"Thanks."
Suddenly, a bright flash of red light enveloped the alien and shined out of the shed, and when it vanished Steven landed on the ground from having been floating as Ghostfreak. Steven checked the Omnitrix, which had its dial being red instead of green and Trix's digital face snoozing, complete with digital Zs coming from his snoring mouth. Seeing that Trix was ok, Steven began to continue but heard glass cracking. Looking down he saw that he had landed on and broke a photo frame of Greg and Rose.
Steven (gasps, turns to look back to where his dad is)
"Uh, Dad, I broke a photo."
Greg
"It's okay buddy. If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs."
Suddenly, a bright pink light began glowing behind Steven.
Steven (notices glow)
"Huh?" (gasps, turns and sees the cannon) "The light cannon!"
Greg (looking at Red Eye)
"Oh boy, that thing's giving me the willies." (rubs stomach)
Steven (voice echoing)
"Dad, I found it!"
Greg
"Really?"
Steven (tying cord around the cannon)
"Get the van!"
Greg attached the cord to his Van, revved it up and started pulling on the cannon, his tires screeching and smoke rising. Finally, he managed to pull the cannon out, along with the entirety of the shed's contents which comically stayed in shape for second before collapsing.
Steven (running to his dad, both out of breathe)
"This thing could save the city, we've gotta get it to the beach!"
Greg
"How? It's too big for the van."
Just as Greg finished speaking, a red wagon rolls by the two and stopped when it bumped into a box, a few moments later, Greg attached the electric cord to the handle of the wagon, and he and Steven began lifting the cannon to set it in the wagon; though, it was incredibly heavy and difficult for them to lift.
Greg (cont., straining)
"Easy does it."
Finally, the two managed to put the cannon in the wagon, though its bottom collapsed from its sheer weight. Seeing as this would be more difficult, Steven and Greg looked at each other in worry.
CUT TO:
INT. GREG'S VAN
The light cannon, somehow still in the wagon, was being pulled behind Greg's Van as he drove to the beach with Steven sitting in the passenger seat. As they drove the cannon was creating scratch marks on the asphalt.
Steven (looking back at the cannon from the back window)
"Is it gonna be okay?"
Greg (shrugs)
"If every pork chop were perfect—"
Steven (chimes in)
"We wouldn't have hot dogs!"
Greg (watches enlarged Red Eye)
"That thing's getting huge, it's freaking me out."
Steven
"Can't the van go any faster?"
Greg stepped harder on the accelerator, making the van speed up to 50 mph-though it seems like it's only going 10.
Greg
"This is faster."
Steven
"Don't worry. Come on, let's put on your CD."
Greg (embarrassed)
"What? Really? Come on, you've heard it."
Steven (chuckling)
"You come on." (inserts disc)
Van Stereo/ Greg (younger)
"I know I'm not that tall
I know I'm not that smart
But-"
Steven (singing along with "Let Me Drive My Van (into Your Heart)")
"Let me drive my van into your heart!" (song continues to play in the background)
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH CITY
Sadie walked by in her jacket looking at Greg's van while Lars looked at the Red Eye and Mr. Smiley looked at the van passed him by.
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH
Greg pulled up his van next to Garnet, Cat's Eye, and Pearl, who were looking at the Red Eye. When the noticed the van they were shocked, not even changing their expressions as Amethyst washed up back on shore; though the moment Cat's Eye noticed she was now standing water she freaked out, hair standing on end, and leaped into the air and onto Garnet.
Amethyst
"Throw me again, I think I'm cracking it." (notices Steven) "Is that...?"
Steven (running around the front of the van to the back where his dad was)
"Hey, guys!"
Pearl (gasps)
"He really had it!"
Amethyst (jumping in front of Garnet and Pearl)
"We're SAVED!"
Gems (collectively)
"Woah!"
The Red Eye's gravity began to become even stronger, causing everything to pull towards it, from shingles and ceiling boards from the Beach House to power lines from nearby transformers.
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH CITY/ BEACH CITYWALK FIRES
Mr. Fryman sees that the Red Eye's gravity was destroying his restaurant, such as pulling out the fires in the logo and toppling the logo on the ground.
Mr. Fryman
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy!"
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH
Trix (waking up, the red light on the Omnitrix turning green)
"What I miss…" (a fry from the Beach Citywalk Fries lands near him and Steven) "whoa, whoa, what the hell!"
Garnet
"We have to use it now."
The gems ran to the Light Cannon to try and get it to work, but none of them knew how to do it.
Pearl
"I don't know how it works, it was Rose's!"
Steven (turns to his dad)
"Dad, how do we use it?" (Greg shrugs)
Pearl
"Steven, this is serious." (realizes) "The gemstone. You have Rose's gemstone."
Amethyst
"That's it!" (lifts Steven and rubs him against the cannon) "Ah, come on!"
Garnet
"Stop that."
Cat's Eye
"It's no use."
Amethyst
"Fine, forget it. Throw me again."
Pearl
"That's not going to work."
The gravitational pull intensifies and pulls the van and cannon.
Greg (unhooks cord from cannon and tries to stop the van)
"I got this." (gets pulled) "Ugh, wait, nope, maybe I don't!" (tries to stop the van)
Steven (to cannon, banging on it)
"Please work, unlock, activate, go, please!"
Trix (scanning it to see if there are any switches or buttons)
"Open Sesame! Abracadabra! Oh, for the love of, come one!"
Steven (to cannon)
"Please! Everyone's counting on you, you can't just be useless! I know you can help."
Greg
"It's okay, Steven. We'll figure out something else, something even better."
Steven
"R-r-r-right, if every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs."
Suddenly the cannon began to glow and activate; it's top unfolding like a flower's petals. Meanwhile, Pearl was trying to stop Cat's Eye from being pulled away while Garnet was doing the same for Amethyst.
Pearl (noticing the canon)
"It's working!"
Just then the cannon unlocked and fell, not aiming at the Red Eye. There was a collective gasp. Steven adjusted the dial on the Omnitrix, stopping on a large four-armed humanoid alien, before slamming his hand down on its core. The Omnitrix gave a burst of bright green energy which surrounded the whole area as Steven's DNA began to change.
Steven's bones began to elongate and reform, unnaturally changing their shape, with him gaining eight feet in height. His skin began hardening and changing color until it was replaced with red armored skin. His arms became much more muscular, with an additional smaller pair sprouting out from beneath his main set. His head had four green glowing eyes (two on his forehead and a pair below them), black markings on both his forehead and chin, larger lower canines and a black ponytail. His feet had two toes in the front and a shorter third one on the back, each equipped with a razor sharp claw. His clothing morphed to where he was wearing a shirt with the same yellow and pink as Steven's, with stripes going over the shoulders and arm sleeves. Around his waist was a dark pink belt, with a black and yellow metallic belt buckle. On his shoulders were double layered and spiked bronze armor, which matched his metal knee caps. He wore black and dark pink fingerless gloves, each having a yellow brass knuckle attached to it. The Omnitrix was located on his chest, with his gemstone on his belly surrounded by a large yellow star.
As soon as Steven had finished his transformation into Fist-thrash, he began trying to lift the cannon, but it was still too heavy. Luckily, the Gems came to help him.
Pearl
"Steven!"
Together the five aimed the cannon at the Red Eye as it charged it's attack.
Amethyst
"This is it!"
Garnet
"BRACE YOURSELVES!"
The cannon fired an intense beam of peach-pink light that morphed in the air to take the vague shape of Rose Quartz. When the beam impacted the Red Eye, it began cracking before it exploded and rained shrapnel, destroying parts of the city boardwalk.
Amethyst
"Steven, you just saved most of Beach City!"
Steven/ Fist-thrash (to Mr. Fryman)
"Sorry about that!"
Mr. Fryman
"What?"
Pearl
"How did you get it to work?"
Steven (a red light flashing as he returned to normal)
"I just said that thing that Dad always says."
Pearl
"That thing about pork rinds?"
Garnet
"Hot dogs."
Greg (tears up, looking at where the energy form of Rose had just been)
"Rose…"
The tide suddenly came in, causing Cat's Eye to freak out again and leap into the air and land on Gra's van, which was washed towards the beach but still surrounded by water. There was a burst of collective laughter from everyone. As the tide began pulling back out towards the sea so was the van and Cat's Eye.
Greg
"My van!"
Steven
"It's okay, Dad, if every pork chop were perfect—"
Greg
"I LIVE in there!" (rushes towards van)
Cat's Eye (sitting on top the van, knees curled up to her chest, shouting)
"GET ME OFF THIS THING!"
Steven
"Wait up!" (goes towards van)
Greg
"Oh geez, wait, wait, wait!"
FADE TO BLACK:
FADE IN:
INT. CHIMERIAN HAMMER
In the dark ruins of the Chimera Hammer, several of the surviving Dreadnaughts were busy working tirelessly on repairing the warship. The ship was severely damaged, with the red interior lights barely flickering, water pouring down from the ceiling, and sparks of electricity as the Dreadnaughts tried fixing the control panel. So far, they managed to repair some of the ship's functions, including the control monitor.
The video feed on the monitor was static as the connection had been severed, before rewinding to show the last moments of video. On the screen was Beach City moments ago, with several structures and items being pulled towards the screen, from shingles and ceiling boards from a nearby Beach House to power lines from transformers. Suddenly from the beach came shooting forth an intense beam of peach-pink light that morphed in the air to take the vague shape of a woman. When the beam impacted the screen, the static returned.
The Commander (off-screen, robotic)
"Hmm, interesting." (the feed rewound again) "Stop." (the screen stopped just before the energy blast from the beach was fired) "Zoom in." (the screen zoomed in to where the energy beam originated, showing the light cannon, the gems and Steven/ Fistthrash)
The scene then pulled away to show a tank filled with green liquid in the middle of the room, where the command chair had once been. Next to it where three Dreadnaughts who were constantly checking the machines attached to the tank, reading off medical notes and adjusting the devices when needed. Inside they could see the vague, shadowy form of their commander as he floated in the healing liquids. His red eyes glowed in the pool, glaring at the screen as it projected the new bearer of the Omnitrix.
The Commander (cont.)
"Very interesting." (eyes flash)

Planetary Index:
Planet: Alark
Alark is a metallic planet located in the Andromeda Galaxy. Originally, Alark was a neutron star that had collapse thousands of years ago and was experimented on in AGW (After the Gem War) 400 by the Galvanic Intergalactic Terraforming program. The plan was to harness the star's energies to create a planet that would have an endless surplus of power. As such, the planet is more akin to a large space station with a neutron star as a core battery than an actual world. Nevertheless, over the course of thousands of years of neglect from the Galvan who abandoned the project in AGW 500, the station has evolved into a unique, thriving planet with energy-based lifeforms and vegetation. There are several layers of the station-planet, with multiple cities throughout the structure of the planet; each with their own core colors of electric energy that reflects the appearance and culture of the Roboloex that live in them.
Etymology: Alark
Alark was the name of the Galvan that first found the world, he was the one that convinced his leaders and team the star was of value, after he died his leaders renamed the star after him for his dedication for it.
Dominant Species: Roboloex
The Roboloex are a species of sentient beings made from pure electrical energy, which can vary in color depending on geographical origin (Yellow-North, Red-West, Blue-East, Green-South) and can assume quasi-humanoid forms. However, due to their loose anatomical structure as 'living energy,' the Roboloex have designed robotic suits that they inhabit when dealing with other races. The male and female Roboloex can be quickly told apart, as the males have short and stubby bodies while the females are more humanoid and taller. As for mating, this is done by a female and male Roboloex fussing their electrical energy together and creating a new life form from it. There are four main subgroups of the Roboloex, each distinguishable by their core colors and having evolved to encompass specific roles to maintain their world. They are the Yellow, the Red, the Blue, and the Green.
The Yellow Roboloex, also known as the Voltaics, are the most abundant of the four subgroups. Having had the most contact with outside races, the Voltaics were taught more advanced sciences and thus became one the most scientific races in the galaxy; second only to the Galvan and Gem. Such developments include creating the robotic suits that the Roboloex wear when dealing with other races, highly advanced starships, and neutron batteries.
The Red Roboloex, also known as the Solenoids, are the second most abundant of the four subgroups, as well as the largest and most aggressive. Unlike their more peaceful cousins, the Solenoids developed into a warrior race and have waged many wars against themselves and the other Roboloex, such as the Great Core War against the Oscillators. However, near the end of the Great Core War, the Solenoids began to run low on resources and were forced to surrender to the Voltaic-Oscillator alliance, who graciously accepted their defeat and gave them aid. In exchange, the Solenoids were stripped of many of their rights and would act as the army for Alark, with their children being conscripted at the age of five.
The Blue Roboloex, also known as the Oscillators, have evolved differently from their cousin Robolexi due to living so close to the star core and do not possess limbs, relying instead on their more advanced electromagnetic powers to levitate themselves and objects in their environments. Having lived for centuries close to the neutron star core in isolation from the other Robolexi, they developed their own religion and believed that the sun was a goddess named Mosfet. As such, when the other Robolexi first encountered them, there was some hostility at first, but after 200 years of war, the four races made peace. Today, most Oscillators dedicate their lives to their religion, with them more often than not assume the roles of the religious leaders, with the highest position known as the Cathode.
The Green Roboloex, also known as the Joules, are the smallest of the four the subgroups, being roughly the size of a small child. They are the engineers of the planet, overseeing repairs and maintaining the star of Alark. The Joules have the unique ability to solidify their electrical energy, such as turning their hands into non-complex tools for repairing or protection.
Etymology: Roboloex
The name Roboloex came from an old message the habitents received. They found an abandoned station on their world and learned that alark had a name he had planned to give the world, Roboloex. "Robo" for the robotic evolution that was possible thanks to the endless free energy provided by the star, and "loex" because in old Galvan history it meant "endless possibility." The Roboloex decided to use the name for their species, as saved the video as the only record they had of other life besides them.
Roboloex Society: Socialist Society
Alark, thanks to the secrecy of its origins, thousands of years of isolation and endless supply of natural energy, allowed the populace to advance in technology far quicker than any other culture. As a trade-off, however, the isolation of the four subgroups of Roboloex caused hostility between their societies for hundreds of years until a peace was established. With the lack of contact from outside forces and constant maintenance of the planets systems, the need to stick together became more in ground in the populace, especially the Voltaics and Joules, so the communities of Alark formed around group efforts to keep the planet functioning. Eventually, a leader emerged to govern each nation and shape each project; this leader becoming known as the High Capacitor. The current High Capacitor is a Voltaic named Ohm.
Roboloex Natural Predator: Energy Leeches
Energy Leeches are a slug-like species that prey on the energies of Alark. Not native to the planet, the Energy Leeches were deposited on the planet when an asteroid carrying their eggs impacted the surface of Alark. Ever since they have spread and infected the planet, becoming an infestation epidemic that feeds on the planet's neutron star core and the Robolex. When attacking a Robolex, they attach themselves to their bodies and draining the electric from their energy bodies.
