The students in the cafeteria stared at the girl in shock after hearing the sudden clatter of the trays hitting the ground; they were that much more surprised when she broke off into a run. Skye paid no attention to the mess that was now on the cafeteria floor or the reactions of the students because, at that moment, the whole world had faded away and it was just her and that boy. She dashed through any student that got in her way, scared that she might lose her chance and he would disappear. Her heart was beating fast as she began to approach him, reaching out to grab his shoulder so he wouldn't walk away at the last second.
Tightly grasping his shoulder, she finally came to a stop and held her head down. Taking in gulps of air to get her breath back, she made sure she was ready to face the mysterious guy.

"You're…" She barley voiced and glanced up, not knowing what to say, or even expect next. The boy then turned around to see who it was that had grabbed him, revealing his face…
"Y-Yosuke?" She called out in disbelief, her pounding heart immediately going back to normal after seeing him. The whole world began to return and everyone in it; did she mistake him as someone else or did she really dream the same nightmare of Yosuke for two months?

Meanwhile, Jachan had made it back with her lunch money to see the whole scene unfold. She looked over at the students that Skye had dashed through, some of them spilling their food on others sitting at nearby by tables. The entire cafeteria, including Jachan, were very stunned by all of this.
"You would think she's been possessed by a buffalo demon" Jachan thought.
Although, once she saw Skye suddenly come to a stop, gripping on to Yosuke's shoulder and staring up at him, she believed she had finally cracked the case.
"I can't stand guys like that? I would never fall for someone like that? What are those girls seeing? Well, looks more like a confession to me!" She smirked, believing she had caught her friend in the act. Quickly, she began to dig through her briefcase to find her camera so she could show it off to Skye to embarrass her once she came back to her senses.

"That's quite a grip you got, girl... I bet you too are dying to see me or something?" Yosuke smirked as he flirted at Skye.
"Bu-But…the figure. I thought that you were…but you couldn't be!" She stumbled over her words while pointing at him, an embarrassed blush on her face.

"I'm sure it took a lot of courage" He placed his hand on her shoulder in an understanding manner, "But, there's no need to nervous around me, baby"
Skye simply stared at him for a few seconds until…
"…Bye!" Skye turned away before fleeing out of the lunchroom, trying to get away from everything she had caused as if she was the criminal of the day. In an instant she passed by her best friend at the exit, not even seeming to notice her, and Jachan knew something was off about her; a few tiny tears streamed down her face.
Skye then disappeared out of the sight of all the witnesses.

Jachan, by noticing the tears, could sense the sadness reflecting from her and believed Yosuke had said or done something horrible to Skye.
Jachan looked over at Yosuke with an angry expression due to her hotheaded temper, something she often acted on before fully understanding a situation. Quickly taking a step forward, she put her money back into her suitcase and pushed it to the side so it wouldn't get in the way of what was to come next. She then grabbed Yosuke's collar with both of her hands and pulled him close to her face.

"Okay, hotshot! Mind to update me on what you did to her or should we do this the hard way?" Jachan barked angrily.
"W-w-wait! It's not how it se- WHOA!" Yosuke tried to defend himself, but thanks to Jachan's ill-informed impatience, she quickly cut off his honest answer by throwing him over her shoulder to crash on the table just behind her. The nearby students had just managed to get away from the spot in time and also made sure to keep some distance between themselves and Jachan.

"So you want it the hard way, huh? Fine with me!" She said.

"No, no, wait!" Yosuke halted her while he tried to get up off from the table, but with the pain he had taken from the crash he fell face down on the floor instead.
"Waiting is not worth my time!" She jumped on top of his rear and roughly pulled his legs backward to form a wrestling type of submission.
"Answer me!"

"All I did waaaAAAH!"

Once again, she cut him off by pulling his legs backward a bit harder to cause him deeper pain. He began to pound his fists rapidly against the floor to signal that he surrendered, but she simply ignored it. One of the female students from the "audience" plucked up her courage and tried to step in, but just two steps so she could get close enough for Jachan to hear her and not risk getting hurt herself.
"Hey Jachan, calm down! All he did was just say hello to her" She made sure to adjust her tone to a nice one, otherwise things might get worse.
"And then she suddenly left just after that."

"Huh? Oh, is that right?"

Jachan blinked, wondering why Skye felt the need to do that. She then began to feel something struggling against her for some reason and realized that she was still holding Yosuke's legs in her arms due to her blinded anger. Quickly letting go and backing away, she laughed nervously.

"Oh... I just... thought I saw something like a cockroach climb up in his leg, so... I tried to get it out!" She chuckled, but the whole cafe was silent. They had already seen the whole thing so none of them bought Jachan's embarrassing words.
Realizing this, Jachan quickly ran away with top agility to escape the school crime, much as Skye had done earlier.

As soon as she had left, the male principal calmly entered the other side of the cafe before realizing that it was completely destroyed. "What happened to my café?!" He asked with panic as a shaking arm rose up from the ground to get some help from the principal; it was Yosuke still lying there.
"W-w-why... did it... have to happen... on my first day...?" Yosuke asked himself before his arm dropped back down and he fainted from the table crash.

The rapid tapping of her shoes could be heard against the school's marble floor as she hurried down the hall, "Skye! Where are you, Skye?" Jachan shouted while searching for her friend, wondering where she had disappeared to.
Just then she noticed a female adult walking along the hallway; maybe she might have noticed where Skye went.

"Hey, teacher!" She eagerly called.
"Oh, Jachan? What is it?" The teacher inquired, surprised by her sudden energy and wondering why she was running along the halls during lunch time.
"Have you seen Skye anywhere? She suddenly left the café and I can't find her!"
"Skye…Ah, now that you mention it, I believe she decided to go home for the day. Perhaps she is sick?" The teacher recalled.
"She went home? Well…okay! Thank you! Bye!" She said before running off towards the entrance of the school to leave.
She was more confused than ever. Why was Skye acting so weird all of a sudden? In either case, if she wanted to question Skye she would have to find her first.

Skye was sitting on a bench at the train station, waiting for the train to arrive. She felt sad after she had gotten such high hopes during that moment, only for it turn out to be for nothing. It was almost as if the repeated nightmare of hers were trying to make her look funny in front of others and cause her to become a crazy person that would be required to be sent to the mental hospital. She felt so silly to believe Yosuke was the one after seeing his silhouette. Sure, from the back it was a perfect match, but not the front…
Even though she had never seen the boy's face in her dreams, she was somehow able to tell in her heart if Yosuke was the correct one or not.

Suddenly, a soda can appeared in front of her face as an offering. She was confused for a second about two things; what kind of soda was it and was it for her? She then looked up at the person who was offering it and they had an extra soda in the other hand; that person was none other than Jachan. She still had some sweat on her brow after her big sprint through the city to find Skye. Even though this town was not their hometown, they could only get lost if they didn't go straight from the school to the train station.

"I bet you ran just like I did, so why not have something to drink?" Jachan gently smiled at her.

Skye sighed lightly with a tiny smile, knowing there was no way she could have been able to disappear completely since she couldn't make the train arrive instantly; it had a heavy schedule. She grabbed the soda can and thanked her friend for being there for her before she took a sip.

"What are friends for?" Jachan giggled before taking a sip of hers as well and sitting down next to Skye. An incoming train passed through, but it wasn't the one Skye had to get on. Instead the train went on full steam ahead to arrive on time at the right station.
Once the train and the loud clattering of it had gone, leaving things quiet, Jachan jokingly asked her friend.
"What's up with your new boyfriend?"
"Huh? O-oh, it's nothing. I did nothing with him, really!" Skye finally realized who Jachan was talking about and tried to defend herself.
"Yeah, I saw you run through some students to get to him like a buffalo that saw red." She sighed, doubting her friend's reply was completely true before taking another sip and looking around at the view.
"I did?! No way… Skye replied with embarrassment. She didn't realize she had done any of those things! Her focus had just been on Yosuke until she realized he wasn't the one in the dream. She dropped her head down in shame, fearing the talk she would likely have to have with the principal once she came back to the school.

"Tell me about it." Jachan sympathized, thinking about the own mistake she had made then. But it was her hotheaded actions toward Yosuke without asking first that was to blame.

"Jachan... Can I ask you something? Do you think it's really possible to meet... the person you've always dreamed about?" Skye asked at length as she looked at her friend.

"Depends... but I think it would be nice if that person was really your lover. Why do you ask?"
"Well... I didn't tell you everything about my dream yet. There was... a guy... That Yosuke's rear perfectly matched. But his front didn't, his face was completely different... somehow I can feel it." Jachan now knew why Skye had dashed through the students to reach Yosuke earlier as Skye continued, "This guy in my dream... We were running away from something together and, just before we reached the dead end at the edge of a cliff, he was suddenly in front of me with his back to me... It's like... he was protecting me from something..."
"Protect you from something? What do you mean?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out! But besides the figure becoming a little clearer, nothing new since the day I first told you about it. There has to be something to it repeating over and over again!"

"So... let me get this straight; not only you, but you and this guy, run away from something together in a forest until you two accidently run into a dead end. Then he shields you to protect you?"

"And then," Skye jumped in to add something she hadn't mentioned about the guy to Jachan before, "The next thing that happened was he told me this; 'I am sorry, Skye...' right before he pushed me away from him. I mean... behind us was a cliff, so why did he push me away? It doesn't make any sense..."

"Hmm... Anything more after that or do you usually wake up at that point?"
"Let's see... Well, I'm sometimes able to keep myself asleep a bit longer than usual, that way I can find something new, you know? And because of that, there was one time I did found something strange after the push. Just as he pushed me away, I was..." Skye paused for a bit to try and find the right word to describe it.
"In this strange space rift instead of hitting the bottom of the ravine; I felt like I was floating through it."
"Really? Are you sure you two fled to a dead end with nothing but a cliff? Couldn't it just be a fantasy dream?" Jachan found this all a little strange and hard to swallow; it was more like fantasy since a space rift in reality is nearly impossible. Actually, it is possible, it's just nobody has successfully created one outside of science fiction TV shows and movies.

"Geez, you don't really believe me, do you? It's just like my parents." Skye sighed heavily with a saddened tone. She was hoping Jachan would be the one to believe her, but it seemed it didn't work out that way. Clueless Jachan remained silent, wondering if it actually was for real and not just a fantasy dream, so Skye continued.
" I remember well that I was going down to the basement at home to do a bit of cleaning one day... And then the next minute, I woke up in my bed and was told that I passed out in the basement after a few weeks of being labeled as a missing person. Ever since then the dreams haven't stopped."

Jachan stood straight up and pulled her friend's wrist to get her to stand up as Skye's train had just arrived. She then pulled Skye on to the train with her, leaving her flummoxed as to what her friend was trying to do. Did she really hear everything she told her?

"Skye, I think we should check your basement out! I may watch Japanese superhero shows a little too much, but I do believe what you just said is very suspicious. Going to that place, where it all began, might trigger something in your brain about the time you were a missing person like you said." Jachan declared.
"You... think so?"
"Well, if not, we'll just have to investigate somewhere else to learn more until we can finally find a way to solve your dream problems and find Yosu- I mean, your guy!"

"Geez... That's why I didn't want to mention this guy to you before..." Skye sighed with a chuckle, annoyed to be teased from Jachan over Yosuke, whom she didn't want a date with.

The train's automatic doors sealed shut before the train's engine accelerated on ahead…
