UPDATE (1/15/17): I've finally gotten around to rewriting this chapter, and man was it a pain in the ass. Not as big of a pain as CH 3 will be, but still a considerable nuisance. Had to listen to Super Survivor on repeat to pump myself up enough to even start…

Anyway, I won't bother saying much up here, I hope you enjoy! Here's the original A/N:

*Insert Pyrrha's "I'M SORRY!" here*

So yeah...it's been awhile, huh? Things have been busy. I had to deal with final exams, and then I needed to rest. Then it took forever to write. Then my editor (who's awesome, don't get me wrong) added a bunch, which ALSO took a while because he's busy too. It was a mess. Now it's here, though (Which means we can finally check on Trunks after this). So...uh...enjoy?

Side Note: At one point, dmoose18 (the editor, in case I haven't mentioned that yet) made a joke about how he was basically the co-author (HA! If only you knew how accurate that statement would turn out to be). Well, I'm taking that seriously. At least for this chapter, he basically co-wrote it. It's not like I don't talk to him about ideas anyway.

Chapter 2: What Is This Place? More Questions To Be Answered!

Spending 7 days without training was a lot harder than it sounded. For most people it wouldn't be a big deal.

However, Son Goku was not 'most people'.

When he'd first ascended past the Super Saiyan state, Goku quickly realized its problems. Sure it gave you unimaginable power, but with that power came incredibly bulky muscles. The increased muscle mass made it difficult for him to move quickly, rendering the form useless in a fight. After all, power is pointless if you can't even hit your opponent with it. Thus, Goku decided the best way to train for his fight against Cell was to master the normal Super Saiyan form.

How? He wondered to himself, pondering the weaknesses of the form for a while. Eventually though, he came to a simple conclusion. Since the initial transformation required some energy to do, and even more to maintain, the way to master it would be to eliminate the strain on the body. His training solution was to stay in the Super Saiyan form at all times, so that eventually it would be nothing to him. It was hard at first, but Goku was getting the hang of it.

What he wasn't getting the hang of though, was not fighting at all. Some would call that silly, but Goku would disagree. He enjoyed sitting back and relaxing as much as anyone, but he usually found time for at least a little training each day. Now though, he couldn't even throw a punch without going against his words. He felt trapped; he had so much power inside him that he wasn't allowing himself to tap into.

After much internal deliberation, he finally decided to go flying across the planet. Once he was done, he made his descent back to his little home on Mt. Paozu. When he opened the door, he expected to see his wife's smiling face. Instead he faltered a little when he saw her distressed expression.

"Chi-Chi?" Goku asked, confused. "What's wrong?"

"Goku…" Chi-Chi began. "Have you seen Gohan anywhere?"

Goku raised an eyebrow. "I thought he was with you. Here, let me try and sense for him…"

The Saiyan began to search for his son's energy signal all across the planet. He could clearly sense Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, even Cell…

...but no Gohan…

"That's weird…" Goku said after a moment.

"What's weird?!" Chi-Chi said, jumping out of her seat. The mother looked even more concerned than before, if that was possible.

"I can't sense him anywhere," Goku explained. "Even if he's suppressing his power for some reason, if I search hard enough I should be able to find a small trace of it."

"So...what does that mean?" Chi-Chi wondered.

"Well...hopefully he's just knocked out somewhere…" Goku started, but Chi-Chi almost instantly interrupted him.

"WHAT?!" Chi-Chi screamed. "Then look for him! Go! Now!"

Knowing better than to go against his wife's word, lest she bring out the famed frying pan of doom, Goku flew out of the house as fast as he could. Once again, he was flying across the planet, but this time with a goal in mind.

However, during his search Goku had a few worrisome thoughts. What if he couldn't find Gohan? He knew he might not be the world's best dad, but he cared deeply for his son. Dragon Balls or no, to lose his only child would be a tragedy. Then there was another thought that invaded Goku's mind. He had been counting on Gohan to beat Cell, in case he himself wasn't capable.

Now though...whom could he count on?

It was late at night in Patch, and Gohan lay on a couch in the Xiao Long home. He'd decided that until he figured out where he was, and how to get back to his home, his current quarters were acceptable. At the moment, he was doing some much needed reflecting on the events of that day.

From the little he had gotten to know about Ruby, Yang, and Taiyang, they seemed like nice people. After they'd gotten home, a pleasant dinner had ensued. Even though there wasn't enough food for the hungry Saiyan boy to have a full meal, at the same time he was grateful that for not having to explain his wild appetite yet. One night with a smaller portion of food wouldn't kill him. On the subject of explanations, thankfully he was not asked too many questions since they still believed he was being affected by amnesia.

Much to his amusement, every time Ruby tried pronouncing that word she couldn't get it right. He certainly didn't think less of her for it. After all, his father was the same way, one of the growing list of similarities he'd found between the young redhead and the Earth's greatest warrior. Ruby was an interesting girl, the young Saiyan had spoken with her a little more at dinner and discovered she was as much of a fanatic about weapons as Goku was about fighting. When she initially started to tell Gohan about the latest in Remnant's weapons, he got the impression that she talked about this a little too often for her family's liking. This was because Yang and Taiyang began their own conversation the second Ruby had started gushing. However, due to his scholarly curiosity, Gohan was enthralled by her descriptions about weapons she loved and new designs she was thinking of. Since he fought with his body and ki, it was interesting to hear about a different way of combat. It was true that he had used a sword as a boy, and his father had the Power Pole, but those seemed like nothing compared to the weaponry Ruby was describing to him. He asked many questions about the specifications of the weapons, how they worked, and even gave his own ideas to the excited redhead. As the conversation went on, it seemed to him that Ruby was pleased someone was truly listening to her ramble for once. Gohan thought she was fun to talk with, and as he reflected on it more he was glad that he had a new friend closer to his own age to talk to.

Next was her father, Taiyang. He was kind man, a good cook, and had a good sense of humor. That was the furthest extent to which Gohan could speak of his personality, since his daughters had done most of the talking at dinner. The only other piece of information he had picked up was that the man was a teacher at Signal Academy, another school for training Hunters and Huntresses. However, despite Taiyang's lack of meaningful conversation, he had a warm presence about him. He was kind enough to allow Gohan to stay in his home, and considerate enough not to pry about the young boy's situation. That was enough for him to be seen as trustworthy.

Then there was Ruby's older sister, Yang. She had just as warm of a personality as her father and sister. It was clear to him by the end of dinner that she was a bit of a prankster, and enjoyed some friendly teasing. She also loved making bad puns, and most of them were able to garner a laugh from the young Saiyan despite Ruby's insistence that they weren't funny. As he'd learned earlier in the day, she was preparing for her first year at Beacon Academy. From what he had gathered between their conversations in the forest and over dinner, she had already gone through Signal Academy (where Ruby was now), and this was her second step in being trained as a Huntress to protect the people of the world from the creatures of Grimm. Gohan was still confused about this, since up until that day he had never heard of these creatures. However, he couldn't deny their existence, because he'd seen them earlier that day for himself. They spoke of the Grimm as if it was an issue the whole world had to deal with, but if that was true then Gohan surely would have had an encounter with them before, and if not him then one of the other Z-Fighters.

Not particularly sleepy, and curious to try and learn more about his situation, Gohan began searching with his ki sense for any of his friends. He was still hoping to find at least one person that he recognized, but eventually his face took on a saddened expression. He couldn't find his father, Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, Piccolo, Trunks, Vegeta…

...not even Cell…

That discovery threw him for a loop. Now he knew something was wrong. He scolded himself mentally for not realizing it earlier, he should have been able to sense Cell no matter what! For lack of better explanation, he had assumed that his friends were suppressing their ki for some reason, but Cell would have no need to hide. Continuing on that train of thought, he had found it strange that there had been no mention of Cell by Ruby, Yang, or Taiyang at all that day. In the days leading up to the Cell Games, it would only make sense that the world's biggest threat would come up in conversation at least once. But they hadn't said a word about him, hadn't even hinted that they were worried. That was not normal behavior.

Immediately jumping off of the couch he flew out the door. Ignoring any sense of subtlety, he ascended into the air and began flying to find the location of the Cell's arena. True, he couldn't sense the bio-android, and he didn't know where to go, but a simple dash to the skies would clear his location up…

...if only he recognized the land.

This was not the Earth that Gohan was familiar with. As he flew further he realized that the continents were completely different, and there was far more forest than there should be. When Gohan actively tried to sense the general populace, it became clear there were far less humans on around than usual, as if millions of people had simply disappeared. But Cell hadn't…

He came to a screeching halt mid-air and his eyes widened in shock as he came to a realization. Even with all of the people Cell had absorbed, there was no way the population of Earth could have dwindled this much. Sorting through all the information in his head, he could only come to one conclusion. Land he couldn't recognize, a dramatically smaller world population, he couldn't sense any of his friends or family, the people he had met so far acted like Cell was not a threat, and instead were worried about these "Grimm" creatures. There was no way that this was Earth, that much he knew. Even though these were obviously humans, he could only imagine that this was either a different planet, an alternate reality, or he had somehow traveled through time. Where the heck was he, and how would he get home?!

No...no no no no no…this can't be happening right now! I can't be lost, I don't have time for this! I need to be at the Cell Games in a few days to help my friends! But if I don't even know where I am, or how to get home...well, I'll either remember or I won't. The best I can do is try to make my stay here worth it, and take every opportunity I can to learn more about this place. Maybe that way I can eventually get home. For now though, I'll have to put my faith in Dad and the others...I know he'll find a way to win.

Sighing, he decided it was futile to panic any more about this situation at one o'clock in the morning. Trying to remember the direction in which he came from, Gohan began to fly back to to the Xiao Long household. It took some searching, but luckily Patch was an easily locatable island, so once he found it again it was easy to get to the cabin. He lowered himself to the ground slowly, trying to be as quiet as possible. He didn't want to wake anyone and have to explain what he had been doing. Once he landed on the grass below, he slowly tip-toed his way through the house, carefully maneuvering himself back towards the couch, so he could…

"Gohan?" a tired voice asked.

Crapbaskets.

"Ruby, what are you doing up?" the saiyan asked, hoping to persuade the conversation away from any awkward subjects. She was sitting on the couch that he had gotten up from a few minutes ago. She had a glass of milk in her right hand, and a half eaten chocolate chip cookie in her left.

"Couldn't sleep, so I decided to grab some food," Ruby said, simply. "Was it just me, or did you fly off a minute ago?"

Double crapbaskets. Gohan froze, unsure of what to say, while Ruby watched him with tired eyes.

He hated lying, and never did unless it was completely necessary. He hadn't lied to Ruby or Yang yet, he had just withheld information about himself. They allowed him to do so since they believed he had amnesia. The only thing they had asked about were his fighting skills and ki abilities, which they believed were his 'semblance'. Gohan hadn't said anything then either, they had made that assumption on their own. The only reason he hadn't corrected them was because he was so confused about the situation himself, it didn't seem important. The young Saiyan was at a crossroads; he could trust Ruby by telling her the truth about himself, or he could try to make up a lie about where he just was. Both choices had risks, but one choice forced him to go against his morals.

He decided that the jig was up, he needed to at least tell her part of who he really was. "Ruby…" Gohan said, whispering loud enough for the girl to hear. "I need to tell you something important. But you have to promise to keep this a secret for now, okay?"

Ruby suddenly looked awake and surprised. "Um...I mean...I'm not very good at staying quiet...but...I can…" the girl stuttered, before calming herself down and changing to a serious expression. "Yeah, sure. You can trust me Gohan."

She seemed to doubt herself a little, but Gohan knew he could trust Ruby. It was hard to explain why he knew that, he just...did. Since he had her attention, Gohan supposed he should get the big surprise out of the way. He looked down at his feet, unable to meet Ruby's eyes for some reason, and began to speak. "When you found me in the forest earlier today, I told you that I didn't know how I got there. I wasn't lying to you, I really don't know what happened to me. However, there is one thing I do know. Wherever we are, this is nothing like the place I call home. I don't have amnesia as Yang suggested. I remember pretty much everything about my life except how I got here."

The crimsonette smiled and clasped her hands together, speaking softly but still with a tone of excitement. "That's great Gohan! Even if this place doesn't seem familiar to you, now that you remember your life, you can get back home."

He shook his head. "No, it's not that simple. I can say for sure that my conversations with you were the first time I have ever heard of Semblances, Grimm, Dust, or anything related to them. The history of the world you've told me sounds nothing like the one I'm from. There are many more pieces of evidence that I have to back up the claim I am about to make, but I can't seem to think of any other explanation for what's happening to me…" Gohan looked back up at Ruby, her face having taken on a much more expectant and curious look, head tilted to the side in confusion.

He sighed and mentally prepared himself for the barrage of questions he was likely opening himself up to by telling her this. "Ruby, I have good reason to believe that I am not from this world. I don't know whether I am simply on a different planet, in a different time, or in a separate dimension. But this is certainly not my home."

Ruby gasped in surprise for a moment, shock evident on her features, before calming down and chuckling. "Funny, Gohan. You almost had me for a second."

"Ruby, this is serious," Gohan responded, not a hint of humor in his voice.

She immediately stopped laughing, instead resorting to nervous shuffling. "...Really? You mean that you're an...an alien or something? But that can't be, you look human!" she whispered.

Gohan thought about it for a moment before responding. "Well...yeah I guess I am an alien to you. Since I figure that this isn't my home world, that would make me an alien regardless of race. Even then, I'm still not entirely human myself. I'm half human, half saiyan. So that makes me at least part alien for sure, although I don't like to think of myself as one."

Ruby nodded her understanding, she seemed to be taking this better than he thought she would. Soon after though, she seemed to be confused again. "Wait a minute, what's a Saiyan?"

Gohan sighed, he'd figured that would be her next question. He didn't want to tell her that the Saiyans were conquerors of planets, who killed people without a second thought. Not because it wasn't true in the past, but because it wasn't true anymore. All of the remaining Saiyans were protectors, not killers. Even Vegeta had turned himself around. Gohan decided not to paint the Saiyans in a bad light, for his personal reasons but also since it could scare Ruby away from him.

He turned back to her after choosing his words. "The Saiyans were a proud warrior race, one of the strongest in the universe. They lived to fight and they grew stronger with each battle. Unfortunately they were forced to do the dirty work of a galactic dictator, and because of that they committed many atrocities. They were mostly tasked with wiping entire planets clean of their inhabitants to make them ready for sale. At some point though, the dictator realized that the Saiyans were getting much stronger with every mission he sent them on. Just like any tyrant would, he feared that eventually they would be able to rise up against him. His solution was to blow up the Saiyan home world, killing almost every Saiyan in the universe. The only survivors were Prince Vegeta, Nappa, my uncle Raditz, and my father Goku."

Again, Ruby gasped. "That's terrible! How can someone be strong enough to just blow up a planet?!" she exclaimed, trembling in shock and fear. For a moment, she wondered if Gohan was that strong as well.

"Don't worry, that guy has been dead for a long time," Gohan reassured her. "But anyway, like I said, my father survived the destruction of Planet Vegeta. He was sent to Earth as a baby just before the planet exploded, with the task of eradicating all life on the planet. But he ended up hitting his head and forgetting everything, growing up to be a kind and pure hearted protector of the Earth."

"So he has...amne...sia like you, right?" Ruby asked, before realizing something. "Wait, you said 'Earth'? What is that? Don't you mean Remnant?"

So this was a different world. At least he now knew the name of where he was. "No I mean Earth. That's my home world. I'm not from here, remember what I said before?"

Ruby blushed as she realized her mistake and muttered an apology, to which Gohan gave a little chuckle. "When you asked me earlier if you saw me fly off, you weren't crazy. I did fly, I decided to take a look around the world and see if I could figure out where I was. My problem was that I didn't recognize the continents I saw. It wasn't even close to what I was used to, and now I know why. This isn't Earth, where I live, this is Remnant."

Gohan shook his head. "I must sound crazy, but I'm telling the truth, Ruby. I swear."

Ruby was silent for a minute, processing everything she'd just heard. Gohan's story did sound crazy, but at the same time he seemed to be telling the truth. She couldn't just immediately believe his story, it was too insane, but she could do something else.

"I trust you," she responded, giving her warmest smile. "Maybe I don't quite believe you yet, because yeah, your story is definitely crazy...but I still trust you."

Gohan sighed in relief. He hadn't expected the girl to truly believe him, but at least she didn't think he was insane. That was a start.

"Thank you, Ruby. I'll explain the rest to everyone tomorrow," Gohan stated, laying back down on the couch. "For now, I think I need to sleep on my situation."

"Alright," Ruby nodded as she got up and began to walk back to her room. "Night, Gohan."

Gohan responded with a nod. "Goodnight, Ruby."

"Wakey wakey!" Said an upbeat voice. It was a bit lower than Ruby, but it was obviously female, so that meant it was…

"Yang…?" Gohan responded, groggily.

"Uh-huh." The voice confirmed. "Get up, breakfast time!"

Gohan groaned. He wasn't sure what time it was, but he knew he just wanted to keep sleeping. He attempted to do so for a moment, before a sharp pain hit his arm.

"I'll do it again Gohan, get up!" Evidently the blonde had punched him. Even though he knew it wouldn't hurt if he was preparing for it, Gohan had to admit the punch was rather well done. Still, sleep was far more appealing at the moment, and so he continued to lay there.

"Yang, you're doing this the wrong way. Watch me!" Apparently Ruby had an idea of her own, which was either a good thing or a bad thing. Considering that the first time she'd tried to wake him up was with a sharp stick, the Saiyan wasn't holding out hope.

As he heard her footsteps grow closer, he tensed in anticipation. His senses sharpened by instinct, and he was able to hear...panting?

Before he knew it, there was something on top of him. Whatever said thing was stood there for a moment, then began to lick his face relentlessly. "Wha-AHH!" The saiyan yelled in surprise, opening his eyes to see...the cutest dog he had ever laid eyes on. The corgi sat on its hind legs and wagged its tail happily, tongue hanging out from the side of its mouth as it continued to pant.

"Looks like Zwei couldn't wait to have his breakfast, huh?" Yang joked, barely holding back her laughter.

Gohan turned his head to the side and saw the cheerful crimsonette admiring her handiwork. "Good job Zwei! Now get up, you're going to miss the waffles!" With that, she turned around and skipped into the next room, Yang trailing behind her and chuckling softly.

Groggily, Gohan got to his feet and closed his eyes for a second, then reopened them slowly. Man, I wish I could sleep some more. I barely got any rest last night...wait, what did Ruby say was for breakfast?

He didn't have to wait long to know the answer, as he could smell it from across the house. When the scent reached his nose, he was immediately awoken from his tired haze. Bolting for the dining room table, with his saiyan instincts running wild, he was slightly underwhelmed at the sight that awaited him. There was only one plate of waffles at his seat, and there didn't look to be many extras. Still though, he was very happy for the food, and sat down quickly. He said a quick thank you to Taiyang, and then began to eat.

Gohan knew that this wouldn't be a normal breakfast, where he could eat insane amounts of food like his mother cooked, but that didn't stop him from instantly devouring the food on his plate. He was certainly more hungry than usual. From what little he remembered of his last day on Earth, he had missed dinner. At the sight of the young Saiyan practically inhaling the food given to him, Ruby and Yang barely stifled a chuckle.

"I see someone is hungry." Taiyang joked with a smile. Gohan swallowed the remaining food in his mouth and politely nodded. Like his daughters before him, Taiyang chuckled. His food eradicated, Gohan silently waited for the family to finish their breakfast. It took Ruby the least time out of all of them, though it wasn't anywhere near the speed of Gohan. The next to finish was Yang, who looked perfectly satisfied. Finally, Taiyang finished, after taking his time to savor each bite of the meal he'd prepared.

After everyone was finished, Gohan spoke up. "I...I have something I need to tell you guys." He received curious looks from Yang and Taiyang, while Ruby simply smiled in understanding and waited for him to begin.

Gohan explained his story the same way he'd told Ruby the night before. Yang and Taiyang responded exactly as he'd expected them to, with pure confusion. The half Saiyan did his best to explain the situation, though it likely still wasn't enough. Even Gohan wasn't quite sure what happened.

"I don't remember what I was doing before I was sent here, but I do remember some sort of green vortex."

"Like some sort of dimensional portal?" Yang asked. The blonde was still bewildered by Gohan's story, but she had to take his word for it at the moment. "I think I've read about something like that once."

"Where would you have read about that?" Taiyang raised an eyebrow.

Yang shrugged. "Comics."

"As I was saying…" Gohan continued. "I saw that green vortex and then I blacked out. Next thing I knew, I woke up in the forest with you two."

"So the long and short of it is that you have no idea how you got sent here…" Taiyang thought out loud.

"Pretty much, yeah." Gohan confirmed, before whispering to himself. "Maybe someone messed with the Dragon Balls...no that can't be it…"

"A Dragon's what now?" Yang suddenly asked.

"Oh!" Gohan reacted in surprise. "Sorry, I forgot to mention them to you. The Dragon Balls are 7 mystical orbs that when gathered, can summon a dragon that will grant almost any wish."

Everyone stared at the Saiyan for a minute with blank expressions. Yang was the first to break the silence. "Are you SURE you didn't hit your head?" she wondered.

Gohan chuckled for a moment. It was odd, he was on a completely different planet, probably a different universe, but he didn't feel any tension or fear at all. Of course he was worried about his father, and especially about Cell. Still though, at least he was in a good situation on Remnant. There were definitely worse planets he could have been stuck on.

"Gohan, can you tell us more about your world?" Ruby asked, practically bouncing up and down in excitement. She seemed eager to learn about this new place.

"Well...I don't want to go in depth on my entire planet just yet…" Gohan stated. "...but there are some other important things I need to explain."

Gohan walked over and took a seat on the couch, motioning for the rest of them to follow. This explanation would take quite a bit of time, they might as well get comfortable. "You see, before I came here, I was training to fight a monster named Cell."

About half an hour later, Gohan had gone over all of the pertinent details that he figured they should know about his situation. He'd left out pretty much all of his battles and travels up until the arrival of Trunks, as well as the Super Saiyan transformation, figuring that there was no need to tell them about those things.

Even with him leaving out a lot of the crazier stuff, it still took a while for him to convince them of his truthfulness. Most of their belief came from the fact that they knew he could fly and shoot ki blasts, which at least validated part of his story. It was still insanity to them, but they trusted him nonetheless.

Now he was just finishing the last part of his story. "Cell, seemingly bored of being so far beyond Vegeta and Trunks in power, decided to hold a tournament with the entire fate of the Earth at stake. He gave us a week to train and become stronger, and it was during that period of time that I exited the time chamber, had a few days of rest, and ended up here somehow." Gohan finally finished.

"Wow. I...uh...can't really manage to make a joke to lighten up the mood," Yang said, rubbing her head in response. She'd originally had a field day with puns about the Z-Fighter's names, but those quickly stopped once she realized the seriousness of the situation.

"I can't believe you have to deal with that stuff, Gohan!" Ruby yelled. "I don't think I could live in your world!"

"You've suffered far more than any boy your age should have to," Taiyang added on solemnly. "I only regret that there was nothing I could do to help."

"Thanks...I guess," Gohan sighed. "The good news is that my Dad seemed pretty confident about the Cell Games. So even if I can't get home, I think that the Earth will be safe in my absence. I can't help but worry though, he said that Cell was stronger than him! I don't understand why he was so calm, he has to have some secret plan..."

"Yeah, that has to be it, right? I bet your dad will be fine..." Ruby said, trying to smile. She failed, and sat down in a slump.

After a moment of silence, Ruby realized something that made her perk up. "Wait, can you tell us more about that 'key' thing you mentioned earlier? That sounds really cool!"

"Ki?" Gohan clarified. "Well, it's a power that's driven from our life energy. It's something every living thing has...but some just don't know how to use it."

Yang perked an eyebrow. "Like aura? It's the manifestation of our soul, which sounds like the same thing as what you said."

"Huh?" Gohan said flatly.

"Did we not explain that to you?" Yang asked. "Whoops! Uh, well, like I said before, aura is the manifestation of our souls. It can be used for a lot of things. Some of its uses are for defense or offense in a fight, healing wounds, triggering Dust, and for our semblances."

"Huh…" Gohan said, looking at the floor. "Interesting, it's certainly possible that they're the same."

Ruby seemed confused, but also excited. "Are you saying we could do the stuff you do? Like fly, and shoot lasers?"

"Maybe," Gohan answered with a smile. "Even if aura and ki aren't the same thing, everyone on this planet should still have ki within them..." the young Saiyan shuffled in his seat, his brain hard at work. "...but then again, that would mean I should have aura, and I guess having two different power sources in the body wouldn't make sense...So yeah, I believe aura and ki are the same, or at least connected."

"Wow!" Ruby yelled. "Well, if that's the case, maybe we could teach you how to use aura!"

It didn't take long for Gohan to come up with an answer. Even if his main focus would be trying to get back home, learning how to use ki in a new way isn't an opportunity that Gohan would be willing to pass up. "Why not? That sounds like it could be fun."

"YAY!" Ruby cried, leaping into the air out of excitement. Taiyang merely shook his head in amusement at his daughter's antics.

"Well, I guess with that out of the way…" Yang spoke up, playing with her hair. "Shouldn't we get Gohan some new clothes? The city isn't that far away, and I should probably get some supplies for school too."

Taiyang perked an eyebrow. "You're heading to Beacon tomorrow. What have you been doing all this time?"

"I...uh…"

"Hey, if you're taking Gohan to town, can I come too?" Ruby asked. "I heard that Dust Till Dawn has the new edition of Weapons Magazine."

"Go on ahead," Taiyang answered. "Just stay safe."

"Stop worrying, Dad," Yang chuckled. "We're just heading to town."

"We'll be fine," Ruby reassured the older man.

"I appreciate the concern, Taiyang…" Gohan said, getting out of his seat. "...but I think we can handle ourselves."

And with that, they began their journey to Vale.

UPDATE: Alright, CH 2 rewrite is in the books. The main change that you'll notice are the radical decrease in useless exposition, since that was the major complaint of most reviewers on the original. I cut it out in favor of simply using a time skip line break, and I also cut down the amount of information Gohan actually told them. He's not giving his entirelife away, just the parts he thinks he can trust them with. He knows that Ruby, Yang, and Taiyang are good people.

Anyway, I think that's all for this chapter. Now I have to get back to writing CH 11, then the Valentine's Day Special, thenthe CH 3 rewrite...Xman is a slave driver.

Just kidding, I asked to do most of this. Expect the next rewrite to come out after CH 11 or 12, maybe even after the Special depending on when the dates line up. Here's the original post-A/N from Xman...

A/N: If someone doesn't know where this is going, I am going to laugh.

Ok, not really. Just in case you haven't gotten it, we're heading to Episode 1 of RWBY next chapter, so that ought to be interesting. Since it took so long for this chapter to come out, I've gotten a bunch of reviews, so...let's respond!

Guest (1): No, he's in his base state. I don't think "getting sucked into another dimension" is a state in which Gohan's used to holding the form. The reason he had trouble was (In universe) because he couldn't gauge the Grimm's strength properly, and (meta) to show how overly strong Gohan is compared to the traditional grimm. Apparently that flew over a lot of people's heads, so sorry!

Hoodini: I'm only spoiling this cause it'll get people interested. Gohan's not gonna be home for the Cell Games. Though he MIGHT still go SSJ2 (That's code for yes, of course he will, do you think I'm an idiot?!)

Connor: It's always nice to have a review simply praising me. It's not the most helpful thing in the world, but it DOES raise moral. Glad you liked it, dude!

Jackalope89: Let's say (if you don't agree, just pretend it's another dimension or whatever) Gohan's 12, and Ruby's still 14 (but almost 15). Funnily enough, that would make Ruby my age. (UPDATE: THIS IS A GODDAMN LIE! Gohan is 13, and Ruby is still 15. That is all, carry on…) Anyway, Gohan's pretty mature for his age anyway, so if nothing else it'll make for a fun scene when Ruby finds out (Yes, they're still not entirely sure. They've never asked.)

Guest(2): I love guests who hate what I'm doing and yet prove that it needs to be done.

dcsonic10: Maybe not "train", but they'll get some knowledge on it, yes.

drake202: Thanks, man! I'm trying to please both parties, and have Gohan be OP, but slightly less so.

Krispy the Wonder-Cat: No, he's in base, as stated before.

Guest(3): Good questions. You almost sound like the DBZ announcer guy (Not the tournament, the guy who yells the episode titles). Anyway, minor spoiler. Ozpin's not gonna be sending Gohan home. Why? Well...I'll let you figure that out.

Guest(4): I've been yelled at about cliches far more than I can count, so I'd rather not do that. Besides, you don't even KNOW how Gohan got sent to Remnant. I haven't explained it yet.

Merge: What? Yeah, he's nerfed a little bit, and later on, he'll be holding back more to not gain too much attention. Maybe he won't hide his alien identity (I haven't decided yet, actually) but he WILL be holding back. Him being nerfed is just for later on.

123GOHANZ: All good points! I want to focus on the quickness of the fight, though. The main reason it was so short was to show how strong Gohan was compared to the basic Grimm. Later fights won't be that short. Why did Gohan fight with no mercy? Logic and Deduction. They have NO Ki, so they're basically not alive. Not to mention they're trying to kill two innocent girls, so...yeah. Makes enough sense to me.

Guest(5): Gohan hasn't fought Cell yet.

Guest(6): I hope you liked this chapter too!

Alright, that's it! See you next chapter!
