Artemis pov:
"Someone has to stay here and look after mom when she gets out" I whispered, holding my stuffed bear tight. "haven't you learned anything. Here it's every girl for her self." My sister snarls.
It, is here. "Get up. Let's go! You have training in five minuets and don't sleep with that teddy bear anymore! That's weakness!" It yells pulling me out of bed. "Mom!" I yell. "Artemis please!" She pleads and begs but I can't see her. I reach out "help! Please!" "she's dead Artemis." "Your weak" "ugly! Get up!" "real warriors don't cry!" The voices grew louder and louder. "No! Please!" I screamed.
My eyes snapped open. It was just a dream. A painful nightmare. I woke up crying and gasping for air. I climb out of bed but on a t-shirt, black sweat pants, put my long blonde hair in a pony tail and walk to the kitchen. I see Wally and my heart stops. I try to wipe the tears as fast as I can. "What are you doing up? It's like 3 in the morning." I ask. "Well I was hungry." Wally sighs looking for food." What about you?" He questioned with a look of concern. "I couldn't sleep." I said with a small shrug. "Artemis? Your crying." I touch my cheek and feel the wet tears sticking to my face. "I-I'm sorry." I stuttered walking away. Wally grabs my hand and pulls me to him. I felt my cheeks grow warm. "Whats wrong tell me." He urged. "It's nothing okay? It's nothing." I pull away. "Don't lie Artemis! You just lost your mom! How is it nothing?" Wally's voice rises. I shake my head and turn away from him. "Artemis please." He whispers. I glanced into his emeralds green eyes and quickly look down at my feet. "It's nothing." I lied. I walk back to my room and slowly fall back asleep.
"Beep Beep Beep."
I fall off my bed hearing the siren. I suit up and run out of my room to join the others. "It's Cheshire" says Aqualad."Lets go." Robin growls getting ready to attack. We arrive at our destination and jump out of the Bioship (Megan's ship) on attack mode. The forest... great. The goons emerge from the trees and starts attacking the team leaving me with Cheshire. That's not right. They usually don't start attacking like that. "Hey" says Jade smiling behind her mask. "What do you want?" I growl aiming a arrow at her ready to shoot. "Just saying hi thats all." She says still smiling. She took out her dagger and swings at me. I dodged and shot my arrow at her hand. She let's go of her dagger in surprise. I knock in another arrow, ready for her surprises. A goon grabs my leg and I accidentally let go of my arrow. "Jade!" I scream wanting her to get out of the way as the arrow shoots through her heart. No. "No!" I scream. I punch the goon in the face and run towards my sister. "Jade you have to stay with me." I said putting pressure on her chest as blood seeps out. "Its okay Artemis. You have to get away. They want the kid flash. At least now i can be with mom. Remember don't turn your back on dad." Jade gasps in pain. Hold on. Hold on! My hand is now covered in blood but I won't give up. How could this happen? How is this happening? Jade grabs my hand and breaths her last breath. She's gone. The goons suddenly disappear. I stay there holding her lifeless body crying. "No! Jade please come back! Please." I cry. Wally and megan put there hands on my shoulder. "She was my sister and i killed her." I whisper. I killed my own sister.
" No its not your fault."Says Robin. "Yes it is! It's all my fault!" I scream still holding her. "Come on lets go."Says Super boy pulling me away from her. "No! I wont leave her!" I scream. Aqualad is pulling me to go. He takes my hand and looks at me in sadness. "Please! No!" I plead. Wally pulls me off the ground holding me as I cry . "No! Put me down!" I say screaming and crying. "Please" I whisper. Shes gone. My mom and now Jade. Gone.
