Chapter 2

Everything was so surreal. It was like I wasn't there. It was like I watching a movie. Then the gunman spoke.

"All of the girls to the right. All the guys to the left" He barked at us while motioning with his gun. I really didn't notice at the time. Like I said it was like I was watching a movie. It didn't feel like I was living it. Everyone starting doing what the gunman ordered. I just sat there shocked. I must have been really scared.

Then I felt someone pull on my hand. I look up and see Meghan. Meghan and I didn't have the most pleasant of histories. Actually at one point I openly hated her. Like I've said before girls are mean and I was no exception. We were best friends in elementary school but then in middle school something happened. I don't remember what the fight was about. It's not important anymore.

I got up and followed her. She didn't let go of my hand when I sat. Meghan was on one side and May was on the other. We sat with our backs against the wall. I could feel that Meghan was shaking. I was surprisingly calm. Scared to death but calm. There were two quick knocks on the door.

"Maybe someone is trying to save us." Megan said, her voice laced with hope. I hated to shoot her theory down.

"They wouldn't knock." May retorted beating me to it. The man walked to the door.

"Who's there?" He asked.

"It's me." Came a muffled reply from the other side of the door. The man opened the door and in came Gage Roberts with a gun. Gage was a huge guy at least 6'5 and he was very muscular. He played on the football team before he was expelled from the school.

"Is she here?" Gage asked roughly. The man nodded.

"Yeah she's over there. " He said pointing in our direction. I thought he was pointing at me, but what would Gage want with me? I look over to May who was looking towards Meghan. Meghan was pale white and her eyes were bulging with pure terror. She was staring at Gage. That's when I realized that is was her. He was here for her not me. Then it all clicked. Meghan and Gage used to date, before she cheated on him. Plus she was the one who got him expelled. She was squeezing my hand so hard it hurt.

"Thanks a lot Tim." Gage said before making his way over to us. All eyes were on us. Meghan started to scoot closer to me. So I did the same and May joined in. We huddled into the corner. All of the other girls got as far away as possible.

"You and I are going to have lots of fun." He said to Meghan. By the look on her face, I thought she was going to faint, but she didn't. Then Gage grabs her by her hair and rips her from my arms. Meghan lets out a blood curdling scream.

"Leave her alone you stupid jerk!" I hear May scream from beside me. I look over at her in shock. She looked confident and defiant. She faltered when Gage turns and glares and her. His eyes were full of rage. She was in trouble now. He drops Meghan and puts his gun in his pants. He then starts over towards us. I push May into the corner and I put myself right in front of her. Physically protecting her. I can't tell you why I did it. I just did.

"Move." He growled at me. I looked up at him defiantly.

"No. You aren't going to touch her." I say calmly, but with a hint of malice. We stared each other down. Then he grabbed my hair and dragged me to the front of the class. I kicked and screamed the whole way. This wasn't going to be easy for him. He held me up and slapped me hard. I felt the burning pain across my cheek. I wanted to cry out but I wouldn't give him that satisfaction. I lay on the floor on my side gripping my cheek. He then proceeded to kick me in the ribs over and over. I could hear May screaming. I look over and Tim is holding her back.

"Let me have a go." Tim says as he slings May down. Gage gladly starts to punch May in the face before kicking her. I crawl through Tim's legs and grab onto Gage's. He shakes me off. May reaches for me and I reach for her. Our fingers almost touch but Tim grabs my legs and pulls me back. I scream and kick. I decide I'm going to get up and fight. So I pushed myself onto my knees. Before I could do anything else Tim takes his gun and pistol whips me with it.

I feel my head snap to the side and my head hit the ground. He hit me so hard it knocked me down. I taste the blood in my mouth. I can feel it leak out of my mouth. My jaw hurts. I want to kill him. I want to pull myself off of this cold floor and kill him, but my body refuses me. I look over just in time to see Gage slam Mays head onto a desk. She landed on the floor. She doesn't move. For a moment I thought she was dead, but I saw her chest moving.

"I must have knocked the bitch out." Gage said with an evil laugh. Now I really wanted to kill him. Then Gage walks over and he and Tim started beating me together. They started by kicking me. I could feel my eyes water, but I refuse to cry for them. Where are the police? Why aren't they here stopping these monsters? It felt like ages. Then they force me to my knees and I feel something slam into the back of my head. My world goes black.

I don't know how long I was out for, but I wake up to hell. I wince at the bright lights. I hear crying and Gage's grunts. I look over and see Gage on top of Rachel, one of my classmates. She's crying for him to stop. I look away. Did they rape me while I was unconscious? I sit up and look to my right. There's Lexi her clothes were torn and she was staring off into space. Tears running down her face. She must have read my expression or my mind.

"They didn't touch you or May. They like you awake when they… "Her voice cracked and she started to sob. I looked away from her. How could they do such a thing? I look over and see May awake in a corner. Her eyes locked with mine. She was petrified. I was mostly pissed off.

"Well look who's awake." Gage says as he gets off Rachel. Poor thing. He pulls up his pants and he smiles at me. Tim comes over and drags me up.

"Your turn" He whispers in my ear. I feel the urge to throw up. I begin to kick and scream. Tim puts his hand over my mouth and holds me tighter. Gage starts advancing towards us. I have to do something. So I bite his hand and I elbow him as hard as I possibly can. He lets me go and I drop to the floor. I feel someone kick me hard in the ribs. I can feel my ribs break.

I look over and see Meghan. Her dress is ripped. They had undoubtedly raped her. With tears running down her face she looks me in the eye and mouths 'I'm so sorry'. I blink back tears. This wasn't her fault and I wish she knew that.

"I'm tired of this bitch. Let's kill her. "Tim tells Gage. I want to run, but I don't think I'd get very far. Tim forces me on my knees and I look up at Gage. He stands in front of me. He raises his gun to my face, but before he can pull the trigger May tackles him. They struggle. I try to make a run for it but Tim grabs me. May puts up a good fight but Gage is just too strong. Gage beats May down to the point where she can't get back up. Tim forces me to my knees.

I feel Gage put the gun to the back of my head. I look at May. She's screaming but I don't hear her. I don't hear anything but the gunshot.

Then there was nothing.
