Well hello there world! Yeah, I know I suck. I still haven't gotten a computer and I probably won't. My family's financial situation just plummeted so it is unlikely that I will be posting more often. But I have been writing a lot. I have the last few chapters of Clearwater done and two new stories, one for Harry Potter and another random vampire story. Descriptions will (hopefully) be posted on my profile. Okay, so obviously this is another and probably the last chapter of the story, In Saving You Killed. A lot of people pointed out that Edward is not really in the first chapter. I left him out on purpose because I thought that though his part was small, it was also very complex and needed at least half of its own chapter. This chapter will also include insight into Bella and maybe even Seth.
Edward:
Every day that goes by, I feel guilty. I feel empty. Useless. I feel exactly how I'm sure Leah did in her last few weeks. I should have seen the signs. They we're so obvious. But Bella's immortality changed her. Her blushing no longer gave away her lies. Her eyes no longer portrayed her every emotion. This gave her confidence. Too much confidence. It also gave her strength and cunning. She learned to bend her mental shield to protect only certain thoughts. One of the many reasons he had been unable to see what she was doing. She left her innocent thoughts unshielded and the ones that show her true guilt, she guarded well. Bella had always been a selfish person. Years ago, when Victoria had used her newborn army to attack them, Bella had asked him to stay with her. If Victoria hadn't attacked Bella directly, people would have thought her selfish. And she was. Selfish enough to have already married him and had his child, and yet still want to keep Jacob with her forever. He remembered it like it was yesterday…
"Edward!" Bella called for him and he immediately sought her out. She was standing in their yard, looking anxious.
"Are you alright Bella? You seem… flustered." She simply shrugged and quickly glanced around.
"I'm going to go see Leah, she seemed a little down and I think some girl talked would be comforting to her." Leah never came across as the 'girl talk' type to me, but I nodded anyway and kissed her before she left. After all, Bella was a girl, as was Leah so maybe she knew something I didn't.
When she returned a few hours later she was smiling, but something seemed strange. Her hair was wet, as were her clothes.
"Bella, why are you all wet?"
"Oh, on the way back I was a little upset and I misjudged the distance across the river. Stupid, right?" She laughed, but I could see something was bothering her.
"Well, come on, we need to get you dried and into warm clothes." He took her arm and they walked towards the house.
"Edward, I'm a vampire. I don't think the state of my clothes affects me much anymore." She laughed again and this time it seemed genuine but something was still there.
"I know, but your shirt is white and Emmett is going to knock the house down with his laughter." Something was wrong, I was positive now. She hadn't noticed Emmett's laughter or the creaking sounds emanating from the house because of it.
When she had changed and fixed her hair he questioned her again.
"Bella, what's bothering you? And don't tell me it's nothing."
"Okay. It's just, well, I'm worried about Leah. She was very upset today." She told me, her eyes reddening, though she couldn't truly cry. Sympathy for both her and Leah welled up inside me and I pulled her into my lap, wrapping my arms around her.
"What's bothering her?" I asked, but she wouldn't tell me. She claimed that Leah wanted it kept a secret.
I had been so wrapped up in Bella and how hard she was trying to 'help' Leah with her private problems that I ignored the smug looks, thinking them smiles of triumph because she had made some sort of breakthrough with Leah and things would look up soon. But they didn't and it was too late. I was too late. I divorced Bella soon after Leah died, trying to atone for my part in her death. But I could never make up for the part I played in the death of a wonderful person.
Bella:
I remember the day so clearly. Leah, blood, a knife, and over 20 people mourning the tragic death of a girl they hardly knew. If they had truly known her, they would have seen it my way. But they were fools, all of them. They said I was crazy. Heartless. Cruel. A bitch. But none of it was true. I had a heart. A heart so big that it held love for more than one man. Jacob Black and Edward Cullen were the men I loved. I would have done anything to keep them with me, both of them. I would have killed for them and some say I did, though I did not wield the knife myself. No, Leah did that. Leah killed herself by the river where she had spent many days with Jacob. She always was melodramatic. Maybe I was crazy. I stood in the exact spot Leah killed herself on, the spot she had been buried in. If they found me here, the wolves or the Cullens, they would all kill me and dance around my pyre. But there would be a pyre. I, Isabella Marie Swan, would commit the ultimate offense against Leah Clearwater tonight. I would win this battle that continued after her death. The fire was burning strong. I could feel the heat radiating off it, beckoning to me. I answered its call, stepping into it. As the flames consumed me, I smiled. Leah would be furious. My body was being burned on top of her grave and no matter how much they scrubbed, my ashes would always remain. As they emerged from the forest, the concern faded from their faces and was replaced by a hate so intense, it burned me worse than the fire. But no matter, they were of my concern no longer. I had won. Raising my arms, I shrieked my joy to the sky, but I don't know if anyone heard me.
Seth:
I froze along with the rest of the pack and the Cullens. Bella Swan stood in a fire atop my sister's grave. Fury burned through me and I saw red as Bella lifted her arms and shrieked, whether in pain or ecstasy, no one could tell. I charged forward, wanting to tear her body from the fire and have the satisfaction of killing her myself, but I was too late. She fell into the fire, the venom in her body accelerating the incineration process. Rosalie grabbed me and I fought against her. Bella needed to get away from Leah. I needed to get her away from my sister. Emmett helped Rosalie restrain me and they held my down together. It took me a few moments to understand that the loud growls and hoarse shouts echoing throughout the forest were mine. Esme's soft sobs reached my ears, as well as Edward's whispers of 'it's all my fault'. But it wasn't his fault. It was Bella's. I tried to tell him, tried to make him understand, but my voice wasn't working. All that came out was a sob that wracked my whole body. Rosalie said something, no, it was a scream. My name, I realized, she had screamed my name. But the darkness consumed me and I couldn't tell her it was okay. Everything would be okay, eventually. Leah would have wanted that.
I feel like there is more to add to this story, but not in added chapters. It needs a story of its own, with its own name. Also, I got the name of the song backwards. It's actually called "Three Rounds and A Sound" by Blind Pilot. Every time I searched it, a different version came up so I just picked one and posted it. Thanks for reading! Review and tell me if I should make another story about this and idea's for it and its title!-
