The "The Loyal Shinobi Who Are Mistrusted But Are Actually Loyal" and the "Shinobi Who Wants/Needs To Reinstate Back To Konoha And Are Currently Trying To Prove Their Loyalty" Groups' Joint Meeting
Itachi stared at the people around him, feeling a strange blend of apprehension, nervousness, and exasperation creeping into his being. He didn't show his discomfort, of course, but a shudder ran through his spine when Anko - who was fortunately seated far from him - flashed him a saccharine smile.
The others stared back.
Itachi cleared his throat; it was now or never. "Hi…" the group leaned towards him in interest, "I'm Itachi."
"Hi Itachi," they chorused.
"I'm an untrusted loyal shinobi of Konoha," he said, as per the 'rituals' of the group, intending to stop at that, but his audience was still expecting more. He glanced at Yamanaka Inoichi, the councillor, nodding for him to continue. Itachi inwardly sighed.
"I am S-classed former nukenin belonging to the terrorist group Akatsuki. I massacred my clan," his eyes flickered to his brother's whitening knuckles," under the orders of the Sandaime and the Council. But I continued to serve Konoha even after everything," Itachi finished, masking his emotional exhaustion with his perpetual poker face. He saw no reason to announce the reasons for his crimes when everybody already knows why he did them.
"Please take care of me," Itachi bowed, his hands clasped on his lap.
Inoichi nodded, satisfied, as the group replied in unison, "Thanks, Itachi."
