I looked up at him and he stared down. His eyes were different. The teme usually had cold or angry eyes. Well he did. Three years may have passed, but I know he would never betray us. The teme had nothing in his eyes. They were blank.
I thought back to what Kabuto said. It doesn't matter because I know he's lying. Sasuke and I were brothers and you can't ever just throw that away. It was Orochimaru who interfered. He fed the pain and hate Sasuke felt. Then he shoved lies and whispers of power down his throat.
I know better. I know the Sasuke that risked his life to save me in the mirrored cage. He always pushed me away, but that time he stood in front of me and protected me.
I know best. I know when the seal on his body was devouring him and he couldn't move, how his only thoughts were to protect us. We were his family then. We are his family now. He told me he didn't want to see anyone else close to him die.
He was in front of me. He moved so fast I could barely keep track of his movements. Barely but I did. I kept my eyes trained forward to ashamed of my self to look into his empty eyes. He landed beside me. His face near mine so we could speak privately.
"Those bonds are worthless. I broke them a long time ago. Leave now and I won't have to kill you."
"Brothers are for life. I'm not leaving until I save you."
"I have only one brother and one goal. And I don't need saving." He raised his sword. "Worthless." I cringed. He was wrong. We were brothers and he's needed saving more than ever. He is gonna get saved. . .
