10th March 1985
Years went by, nothing changed. The Lupin-Blacks lived in the house which Orion and Walburga let them live in-No 12, Grimmauld Place. True, Sirius saw the bad side of his 'demented' parents but Remus, Victoire and Regulus managed to find out that Orion had a good side to him- he somehow loved Remus and his very own grandchildren. True, they came from the child his wife hated the most but they were so well behaved.
The Lupin-Black twins had their flaws. They had mischievous streaks and the infamous Black, combined with the Lupins, temper. But other than that, Remus couldn't be any more proud. Victoire and Regulus were at the Black library researching 'something important, Papa'. There was suddenly a shout of 'Holy Cow!' and muffling then the stomping of the 4-year-old feet down the stairs.
"Papa! Look what we found!" Victoire said, jumping up and down. Remus sighed and put down his quill, 'guess I have to finish the gossip column later.' He saw the book in his son's hand and his eyes bulged out.
In his hand was a book was fantastic beasts. 'Why do they have that book?'"Papa, we found this section-" Victoire started."About your symptoms and says you are-" Regulus continued straight after."a werewolf." They finished together. Remus just simply nodded and felt relief that he doesn't have to tell them later.
Then he felt a pang of fear, what if they don't want to live with him anymore and want to live with their aunt Rhea? He then waited for the words he dreaded the most but it never came
"Papa, we don't care!" Victoire said, her curly strawberry-blonde hair shook around her neck, revealing her black streaks tangled in her thick hair."Yeah! Who cares you turn into a monster once a month." Regulus stated."You are still our Papa!" They said together and Remus' vision started to blur, filled with happy tears. He hugged his children."Papa, can we go to Hermione's? We along with Justin are going to the park with Hermione's family!" Regulus asked."We sorta made you not finish…what were you doing?" Victoire rambled."Yes, you can. As for what I was doing, I needed to finish a story for Witch Weekly. I need to finish it so it can be published tomorrow." Remus said as he chuckled.
Regulus and Victoire walked out of 12, Grimmauld Place and their papa felt the huge weight of relief released from his shoulders. He didn't have to tell them about his furry problem, they found out themselves. He wished Sirius was here sometimes so he can see how their twins grew up.
He felt rage at the man he trusted the most, the one which let him go to Hogwarts with his sisters. Dumbledore caused this. He caused him to raise the twins without the man he loved, the man who helped conceive Regulus and Victoire was not here, due to Dumbles wanted Courtney to grow up in a house with no werewolf tainted stains embroidered in her environment.
He felt his anger in the quill in his hand. He got a new parchment and wrote to the ministry of magic demanding for a trial for Sirius Black (Sirius was a gifted Unspeakable and the best in the force) After Ares, the family owl flew off, he carried on the article.
He thought about his children' s best friends: Hermione Jacquelyn Montague, half Italian and French girl who her mother famous for being the main photographer of Vogue and a famous food critic for a father but does not act spoilt herself, and Justin Freddie Finch-Fletchley, a Scottish boy who has a mother that is an event organizer and a father who owns a bakery in England. They met on their first day in the nursery which was nearest to all of them, Northbrook primary.
What they didn't know was that werewolves can sense magical traces and felt it on Hermione and Justin when they are visiting. Only time will tell if they are of magical traces. Regulus tells him that Hermione's mother is the sister of Antoine Delacour -known in France.
He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't even see Ares back with a letter. When he did notice he grabbed the letter before giving Ares an owl treat.
The letter states:
'Dear Mr Remus J Lupin,
Due to so many letters sent to us about the trial of Mr Sirius Orion Black including Mrs Walburga Black (nee Black) when she was ministry had to give Mr Black a trail. The trail will be on the 15th March 1987 at 9:00 am.
Hope you are well,Millicent Bagnold (Minister of Magic)
15th of March… Remus can see his mate. He was so happy! He can see his husband again!
He called Rhea via telephone, he mentally thanked that his mother was muggleborn so he knew how to use muggle technology. He heard the phone ring in the receiver then a voice he recognized as Courtney, his niece."Hello, Evans resistance. Courtney Potter speaking." Remus heard in the receiver."Hello 'Ney, can I speak to Rhea please," Remus said in a calm tone."Oh okay." Remus heard a shout of 'Aunt Rhea! Uncle Remy wants to talk to you' and ruffling."Hi, Remy!" He heard."Rhea, I got a letter from Millie saying that Siri can have a trial in 5 days!" Remus said in a ramble, like father like daughter. He heard a sequel in his ear."I am going to be there. What time?" Rhea asked as she grabbed a piece of parchment."In the 15th of March at 9:00 am," Remus told in an 'I am a boss' tone."Great see you then!" He heard the ring that indicates one's end to a call.
He heard the doorbell go off. He went to the door and saw his children, grinning. He told them the news about their Dad might come back in 5 days. Like he expected, they jumped up and down.
15th of March 1985
At cell 2E, Sirius looked out of the windows of Azkaban. He heard two men coming closer to his cell. Why would they come here? -Sirius thought.
"We are here to escort you to the Ministry of Magic by Ms Bagnold's commands." The first auror said, to whom Sirius recognized as Kingsley Shacklebolt.
"Why exactly?" Sirius asked why the minster of magic would want him in the Ministry...unless.
"So you can be escorted you to your trail late by 3 years." The second auror or a hit witch (a new recruit maybe?) stated. Is he hearing properly? Is he, the infamous Sirius Orion Black, getting an overdue trail? He grinned which he only gave to Remus, Victoire, Regulus (both his son and brother), James and Lily. The two aurors guided Sirius to the Apparition spot and Apparated out of Azkaban and near an abandoned telephone booth.
Shacklebolt dialled 62442 into the phone. Sirius heard a voice but it didn't come from the receiver, it seemed to come from inside the box. He remembered this when he was applying for the job of Unspeakable.
"Hello, please state who you are and the business."The voice said.
"Err- Kingsley Shacklebolt, auror and Bailey Ares, hit witch, here to escort Mr Sirius Orion Black to his hearing." Kingsley said to the receiver.
"Thank you. Enjoy your visit to the Ministry of Magic."The voice said in a fax happy tone and a button came out of the dispenser, where the change normally comes out, with 'Sirius Black, Hearing' inscribed on it.
The booth went in to the earth and he saw the ministry. It hasn't changed since he last been there in 1981.
"Come on Black, your trail starts in 5 minutes." The hit witch said Bailey Ares was it? He went to the lift with his escorts and got off at Level 10, Wizengamot Courtrooms.
They got in and Sirius saw his nieces and nephew, seated while talking, his brother-and-sister-in-law sitting down calming down his children. He saw his husband sitting down being hugged by London. Remus saw his beloved husband and gave him a helpful smile.
"Good morning. Can everyone state their name and job and state of the matter at hand? I will start. Millicent Bagnold, Minister of Magic and Interrogator." Millicent stated."Dolores Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary and Interrogator." A woman with the physique of a large pale frog spoke."Rita Skeeter, journalist for Daily Prophet and court scribe.""Amelia Bones, Head of Department of Magical Law Enforcement and Interrogator.""Sirius Black, accused and former Unspeakable.""Filius Flitwick, witness and charms master of Hogwarts.""Remus Lupin, witness and gossip journalist for Witch Weekly." He heard his husband and saw a wink in his direction."Brandon Evans, Muggle Studies professor of Hogwarts and witness.""Rhea Evans nee Lupin, publisher of Daily Prophet and witness.""Victoire and Regulus Lupin-Black, unemployed." They said at the same time."We are kids, can't get employed!"Regulus stated he looked like his deceased uncle, his younger brother, but he seriously (no pun intentioned) acted like Sirius."Oh and here for moral support." Victoire said who looked like her aunt Lily. The rest of the court giggled, apart from toad face who sneered, at their antics."Andre and London Evans just like Victoire and Regulus' reason." They both said at the same time."Courtney Potter, like my cousins' reason." The rest of Wizengamot introduces themselves which included Lucius Malfoy.
"Right is that everyone?" When Millicent saw everyone nodded, she continued."Good. Today, we are here to do the trail of Sirius Black. Accused for assisting of You-Know-Who who murdered Lilly Potter nee Lupin, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew, how do you plead?"
"Not guilty." Sirius Black stated. How can he be guilty? He wasn't their secret keeper, how can he sell them off?
He heard Bagnold ask for Veritaserum and asked Sirius to drink it.
"What is your name?" Umbridge asked in a sickly sweet and high pitched voice.
"Sirius Orion Black III." He said in a monotone voice.
"What was your relationship to the Potters?" Lucius Malfoy asked in his usual sneer though he knew his cousin-in-law's relation to them.
"James and Lily Potter (nee Lupin) were my brother and sister in law through my husband, Remus Lupin. Courtney is my niece by marriage and my goddaughter."
"Were you the secret keeper of the Potters?" Amelia asked.
"No, Peter Pettigrew was." A collective gasp, minus the witnesses, can be heard.
"What do you mean Peter was their secret keeper?"
"I thought Voldemort-a shudder is seen- would come after me and anyone who they considered was close to me since it was well known me and James was best friends. So I persuaded James and Lily to choose Wormtail because it was the first choice."
"You called Pettigrew 'Wormtail', why is that?" Millicent asked.
"In 5th year at Hogwarts, I, James and Pettigrew were animagi to Remus with his werewolf transformations. Our nicknames were: Padfoot, Prongs, Wormtail and Moony respectfully. I am a dog, James was a stag and Pettigrew was a rat."
"Thank you that will be all. Put Flitwick on the stands." Bagnold stated.
After confirming Sirius wasn't the secret keeper by Flitwick's veritaserumated state, Remus and the Evans were called up again confirming. Now they were waiting for the results.
"All in favour that Sirius Black is guilty." Amelia stated. One person's and flown into the air and that's toad face.
"All in favour that Sirius Black should be cleared of charges," the rest of the court had their hand up.
Sirius was free of charge. He was finally free!
"The Wizengamot court had decreed that Mr Sirius Orion Black is free of charges though due to admitting being an Animagas a fine of 100 galleons and 3 years in Azkaban. But you already covered that. The fine will be taken out of 711, your family vault." Sirius' eyes lit up, he was free!
When everything was sorted, Skeeter was muttering words while her Quick Notes Quill wrote what she was saying. Sirius got out of the stands and he was tackled by his husband, and twin children.
"Dad /Siri!"They said at the same time respectively.
"Aw! The Lupin-Blacks are finally back together," Rhea teased before winking at her brother. Sirius asked about the twins. Remus said everything about their friends and Sirius' parents being nice and Walburga actually wanted him to have a trail.
"I am so glad to have you back Siri," Remus said before hugging his husband.
"Me too, Remy, me too," Sirius said before kissing his cheek. They heard the sound of a camera and turned their heads. They saw their daughter and son with a camera and Rita as well.
"What? This is for the album at home. You know the one about the life of the Marauders." Victoire said while Regulus took another picture of Bagnold, with her consent, with the trail's succession parchment in her hand stretched out.
"This is for the Daily Prophet. Tomorrow's article: Lupin and Black reunited!"Rita said before she ran out of the court to get started.
The Lupin-Blacks, Evans and Courtney came out of the court and they went back to their respective houses.
Remus and Sirius Apparated to No 12 Grimmauld Place, more specifically, to the living room. The twins developed their pictures, using developing solution, and placed their pictures into the album. Victoire and Regulus left the living room and told their dad: 'it is great to have you back!' This made Sirius smile. Sirius and Remus departed the room and made love in their bedroom with silencing charm on, of course. They fell asleep in each other's arms, feeling contented. Little did they know at that moment, a baby started to merge in Remus' womb- a baby boy.

*-I think Walburga would think that a child should be raised by both parents.
