AN: still don't own HP, still looking foward to reviews and follows, still working on the next chapter! Shameless Plug: You know, I'm on break right now, so I'll be updating often, following my story would be the easiest way to keep up. wink wink nudge nudge :D
~later that night~
~Harry's POV~
Harry crawled into bed, knowing it was a futile gesture. Thoughts of the DA swirled in his head, headier than Butterbeer. Lesson plans, jinxs, and counter-jinxs came to mind one after another, each superimposed with elaborate fantasies of helping Cho learn them. Holding her hand to show her a wand movement, holding her when the spell saves her life and she subsequently throws herself into his arms in thanks. His brain filled as it was with pleasent daydreams, Harry didn't notice the stealthy approach of footsteps, stocking-clad and silent on the worn flagstones of the Griffindor dormatory, until George's quiet whisper snapped him out of his reverie.
"Harry."
Harry started up in bed, eyes cast wildly about and reached instinctively for his wand.
"Steady on, Harry, it's just me. George."
Harry felt his heart return to a normal rate. "Bloody hell George, you gave me a start. What is it?"
George's voice, still lowered to a whisper, came out of the dark from the food of his bed. "Remember that.." A moment's hesitation. "...Item Fred and I gave you? I solumnly swear-"
"'Course I do."
"Could we borrow it back for a few days? We'll give it back before the next DA meeting."
"Blimey, George, 'course you can, you gave it to me didn't you?"
Harry retrieved the Maurader's Map from its place in the bottom of his trunk and handed it to the unseen presence in the dark.
"Thanks a million, Harry." The softest of sounds signeled George's furtive exit.
Wonder what they'll use that for? Still dreaming of Cho, Harry drifted off to sleep.
AN: First two chapters have been pretty short, thought about writing more instead of splitting it into another that i'll write tomorrow, but it's 2:30 am and I have work tomorrow, and I want to update before I go to sleep. Message me or leave a review telling me whether you like the rapid-fire short chapters, or think I should opt for longer, more sporadic updates. Thanks!
