First off I want to apologize for the long wait for this chapter. Don't worry I will most definitely finish this story because I hate it when I start to read a story only to discover it's not going to be finished. So no worries there it will be finished. At the moment I'm trying to figure out a plot for this story because this was only suppose to be a part of a different story I ended up not doing. So that leave's me with trying to figure out where I want to go with this story. I want to say thank you to all who reviewed my first chapter. It made me so happy! And I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully you'll like this one to. ^_^ well Here we are with chapter two. Enjoy!
Chapter Two: Not a walk in the park
"Master, I'm sorry."
"Well, you should have thought about it before you disobeyed me boy. Strip."
Ventus striped down until he was only in his undergarments. It was cold and damp in the basement and he shivered. Xhanort motioned for Ventus to turn around and walk towards the wall. "you need to be taught a lesson." Xhonort said. Ventus screamed out of pain as a whip connected with his back.. "M-Mast-" Ventus tried to hold back a sob. "Master, please" Xhanort began to repeatedly hit ventus with the whip. Each time Ventus screamed out in pure agony.
Knock, Knock, Knock. Ventus sat straight up in his bed with sweat covering his brow and breathing heavily. "Ven, are you up in there? It's time to get ready for the day." Terra's Voice rang form outside the door. "Y-Yeah. I'll be there in just a minute." Ventus replied. It had only been a nightmare. Only a nightmare. He no longer lived or worked for his previous master. Still the flashback dreams had not subsided. Sighing Ventus hopped out of bed and began to get ready.
It had been a month since he had moved into the Fair estate and given the title personal servant. Looking out of the small window above his bed he could still see the moon. Servants had to be up and ready well before there masters. Ventus yawned and stretched. "okay" he said to himself.
There were many things he had learned since he first came. One being that his master did not like to be around others. He ate breakfast alone, most of the time lunch alone and dinner he had to eat with everyone. The only other time he associated with anyone was only during lessons and mandatory parties and such. Ventus wished more than anything to at least see Vanitas smile once. Ventus couldn't understand how someone who had everything could be so unhappy and angry all the time.
He made sure to knock before entering Vanitas's chamber and proceeded to enter when he heard no reply. It was a routine thing. Vantias never got up on his own. He always had to be woken up. "Master. Master." Vetnus spoke. No response. "Master Vanitas it's time to get up." Ventus said as he lightly shook him. "nnn" was Vanitas's reply as he slowly opened his gold eyes. Ventus helped dress him and put his breakfast on the table that sat near the far side of his room. "is there anything more I can get for you Master Vantais?" Ventus asked. Before Vanitas could reply his bedroom door burst open to reveal Sora and his own personal servant. "Vanitas you have to come with me!" sora exclaimed. "and why would I want to go anywhere with you?" Vanitas said with irritation evident in his voice. "Because I don't want to be alone with Kairi again." Sora answered. "you won't be alone. You and her have servants right?" Vanitas spoke. "But Vani.." sora sighed. "Please come with me." he said giving Vanitas puppy eyes. Vanitas let out an aggravated sigh. "fine. Only if you stop being so annoying." Vanitas said. "thank you Vani!" sora said as he hugged his brother and then left. "well there go's my day." Vanitas said under his breath. Ventus smiled warmly and couldn't help the small chuckle that left his lips. Vanitas snaped his head in the direction of the said chuckle. "and what could possibly be so amusing?" Ventus stopped as gold eyes bore into his blue ones. "forgive me master." he said bowing. Vanitas looked at the blonde before him curiously. Never had a servant felt comfortable enough to laugh in font of him. "that did not answer my question." Vanitas said as he turned his full attention to Ventus. Ventus first looked surprised and then his features softened. "it's just, it reminded me of me and my brother." Ventus answered. Vanitas lifted an eyebrow. This was the first he had ever heard Ventus speak of any kind of family let alone any part of his past for that fact. "Master, shall we dress you in something more fit for an outing?" Ventus said. Vanitas took that as a hint to change the subject.

The weather was cool and the wind gave sign for an upcoming storm. "why is he here." Kairi asked looking quite disgruntled. "oh come now Kairi it's only my brother." Sora said trying his best to salvage the situation. They had arrived at their destination. A large park full of many different kinds of flowers and trees. The kind of place that made Vanitas want to puke. He sat on a bench not to far from where the whole scene was unfolding. His head resting on his hand; his face giving no sign of interest what so ever. He was vaguely aware of sora's servant Zexion who sat beneath a tree reading as it were and Namine, Kairi's servant who was beside her mistress trying to calm her down. No his attention was drawn to his own servant. It utterly perplexed him as to why Ventus found the flower's he was currently hovering over interesting. The boy looked as if he were in a candy shop. What confused Vanitas even more was the fact he was becoming increasingly interested in the blonde not to far from him. There were many thing's Vanitas found odd about the guy. Or would the word mysterious fit better? For the most part Ventus seemed largely unaffected by his moody and disconnected aura. Where his stare's would frighten others Ventus only stared back or looked down, given the fact that his station was a servant Ventus mostly looked down. Still he never backed away or stuttered in his presence. Another thing Vanitas found odd was Ventus seemed to enjoy the daily tasks given to him. No matter how ridicules or tedious the task was the smile on his face never wavered. Of course he didn't actually smile all the time. That would be just plain creepy. But he had never heard Ventus complain once about any of his duties.
Vanitas suddenly felt eyes on him. Looking over he saw Sora looking down at him with one of those looks like he had just caught some one in the act. "I'll take a wild guess as to what your staring at and I know it's not the flowers." Sora mused. "and what would that be?" Vantias asked completely monotone. Sora looked over at Ventus. "you were staring at him, weren't you?" sora said and then smiled. "and why could that possibly matter to you?" Vanitas asked knowing full well where his brother was taking this. "you like him don't you." sora said playfully. Yup, how did he know that would be the next thing out of his idiot of a brother's mouth. "don't be ridiculous." Vanitas said quickly. Maybe a little too quickly he thought to himself. He knew his brother would take that to his advantage. Sora only snickered and then took a seat beside his brother. "so then where did miss priss go to?" Vanitas asked. Sora's face fell a bit. "apparently I did something wrong but I just can't figure out what I did. The only thing I can think of that she seemed remotely mad about was the fact that you had come along." Sora said. "so, then just let her go. You don't seem like you actually want to be with her in the first place." Vanitas sighed wondering when he had ended up getting involved in his brother's love life. Sora sighed heavily. "but there in that lies my problem." Vantais didn't say anything else not even giving any kind of sign that he was actually listening. "it's not Kairi I'm in love with, it's her servant Namine. God vanitas I just don't know what to do." Sora huffed. "not my problem." Vanitas said shortly. "of course you'd say something like that." sora huffed. "so is she coming back or can we leave?" Vantias asked. Sora sighed. "you'll find any excuse to go home won't you?" Vanitas simply nodded.
"sora, I will forgive this little mishap. Only if you promise not to bring him along again." Kairi spoke. Sora looked up into her cold gaze. "o-okay…." Vanias wondered when she had appeared and at what point of their conversation. What was wrong with him today? He didn't quite feel like himself. How could he have allowed his brother to walk all over him? And now here he sat in between Sora and Kairi's argument. He needed space. He hated being so close to other people. Not like anyone would understand why. "Ventus probably thinks badly of me." Vanitas thought. Where did that thought come from? He wondered. Thinking of which he had forgotten about Ventus during the whole thing between his brother and Kairi. He looked over to see Ventus was no longer around the flowers but in fact standing in font of his old master. "Xehenort?" Vantias thought.
The look on Ventus's face suggested that what ever they were talking about was not pleasant. What disturbed Vanitas the most was the fact that Xehenort was standing so close to Ventus with his hand on Ventus's cheek and his head next to Ventus's as if he were whispering something. Why did this piss him off? It made no sense to Vantais. None the less he stood and made his way over to the unfolding scene. When he got closer he could see Ventus's whole being shaking lightly; his face filled with fear. "I believe you are standing entirely too close to my servant." Vanitas spoke in a low dangerous tone. Xehenort turned around and smiled.
This sent a shiver down Vanitas's spine but he did not waver only glared as hard as he could. Ventus looked from Xehonort to Vanitas. "my apologies young Master." Xehonort said. He then turned back to Ventus. "until next time boy." and then Xehenort made his leave.
Vanitas kept his eyes on the creepy old man until he was out of sight. He looked around just in time to see Ventus drop to the ground on his knees hugging himself still with that fear filled expression. The whole thing was bizarre and raised Vanitas's curiosity and suspicion to an all time high. Just in that small amount of time many questions came popping into his head. What exactly happened between Xehenort and Ventus?
What did it matter. It wasn't like he actually cared, right? Vanitas shook himself out of his thoughts and back to the blonde before him. "get up you idiot. You look stupid just sitting on the ground like that hugging yourself like some kind of weirdo." Vanitas spoke as he began to walk away. No he couldn't get involved. Why should he? Ventus was only there to serve him. Just like every other servant that lived in his house. He stopped and looked back. Ventus still had not moved from where he was kneeling. Vanitas sighed. He wasn't good at this sort of thing. He went over to Ventus and kneeled before him. "Hey!" Vanitas said as he flicked Ventus on his forehead. This seemed to break Ventus out of what ever he was in. He looked up at his master and then down again. "I-I'm sorry master I-" Ventus was cut off by Vantias grabbing his arm and pulling him to his feet. "enough, lets just go." Vanitas said as he took Ventus's hand, not caring that other's were staring, and headed towards the stage coaches. As he passed Sora he said "Sora I'm leaving. You can go home on your own." Sora and Kairi stopped there conversation for a split second but Kairi gave Sora no time to respond back to his brother.
Vanitas had Ventus get in first and then sat beside him shutting the door a little harder than he meant to. "M-master?" Ventus questioned. "Ventus. I'm not going to ask what that was all about." Vanitas said. Ventus only nodded. "Master, I don't understand. Why am I riding with you? Isn't that not proper?" Ventus asked. Vanitas looked at Ventus. He still seemed shaken up but still he thought of educate? He sighed heavily. So many things about this day had gone wrong. "just shut up and calm down." Vanitas said as he looked out of the window. "o-okay" Ventus said quietly.

The rain outside poured the clouds were thick and dark. Occasionally a flash of lighting could be seen followed by the sound of thunder. The storm had finally rolled in; sora had come home not long after Vantais and was now sulking on the cough in the morning room. Vantais however was in his room sitting at the table. Ventus entered with a tray of tea and set it in font of Vantias and then stood not to far from him. Vanitas's head was full of questions and many different thoughts. He was still quite agitated from the day's events and found it difficult to calm down. The room was silent the only noise that filled the room came from the storm outside. "master, is there anything I can do for you?" Ventus asked sensing Vanitas's dark mood. Ventus felt bad. He couldn't believe he had froze. Ventus was grateful to his new master. Even though to most people It would have seemed like Vanitas was being cruel ventus knew better. He had tried to help him in his own way. "no, I will need nothing further. Ventus you are dismissed for today." Vanitas said as he took a sip of his tea. "yes master. I wish you a good evening." Ventus said before he bowed and made his leave. Vanitas looked out of the window by his table and sighed. He wondered what exactly was going to happen next.

Not entirely sure where I'm going with this one yet but I will come up with something lol. Hope you liked.
