Chapter 2
Cassie entered the drab building after getting searched and made her way to her office which, like her apartment was messy.
Old case notes from old Arkham inmates were piling up on her. She was proud to boast that nearly all her cases hadn't committed any more crimes since she had last seen them. Even though she had only had three cases. Cassie checked her schedule. She had no appointments so far as her last client had been let out yesterday.
To be honest she thought I didn't really need to come into work today. She lent back on her chair and took a bite of her banana. She could feel herself falling back to sleep when there was a knock on her door. Making her jump so much that she tipped off her chair backwards. Whilst on the floor she called out "come in "
"Doctor Jenner are in here?" asked her boss Doctor Arkham,
"Yes sir I'm right here! "Said Cassie picking herself up and sitting on her chair again. "Ah, good. I'd first like to congratulate you on the success of your last client. She's doing very well so I hear" complemented Doctor Arkham
"Well all in a day's work sir, hopefully Batman won't be bringing her back in"
"I'm sure he won't Doctor Jenner. Now there is a reason that I wanted to come and see you, I'm assigning you a new case"
"Really Doctor Arkham? Who?"
"Room 12666"
"Sir, why am I now on the Joker case? I thought that Doctor Lock was handling it?"
"He was Doctor Jenner but he was taken off the case due to his Doctor signing him off for a while due to a high amount of stress levels. Most of the Doctors I put on the case seem to be unsatisfactory actually. That's why I'm transferring you to him. I'm sure that you'll be straightening him out in no time. Fortunately you be starting till tomorrow so you can go home or stay here and catch up on some….. Erm well some filing" Doctor Arkham informed and with that he got up and left.
Cassie just sat and stared at the chair where her boss had been sitting in. Sure she thought I've proved myself on the other cases I've been assigned, but I can't do this! Compared to the other Doctors I'm just a newbie. After all I've only been here for a month! How do they know I won't be signed off due to high stress levels? Banishing all thoughts of the Joker from her head she stared on her growing amount of filing.
