Chapter 2
Run In With Old Friends
(Amu's POV)
I woke up late, at least 12:30 with something warm around me. I turned my head warily, having a good feeling what would be in store for me. As I expected, there was Ikuto, arms around me tightly, his eyes were closed. He looks so peaceful... I thought, then I sighed. I freed my arms and pushed him hard onto the floor. He landed with a loud thump, making the charas wake up lazily. Kira and Lulu snickered at Ikuto on the floor, while Yoru flew over quickly.
Ikuto looked angrily at me. "What was that for?" He asked me while he rubbed his head. I smirked at him and stretched my arms behind my head. I yawned widely, and scratched my head slightly. "Because you were in my bed, even though I told you not to." I answered simply as I stood and walked out of my bedroom. My cell phone was on the counter, and I picked it up and opened it. It said I had a message, I sighed and listened to it, from Yukari.
'Ne Amu-chan, you have a performance tonight at the theater, it's at eight o' clock. Don't be late!' My phone made the beeping sound indicating that her message was over. I pulled the phone away and snapped it shut. I felt something warm settle on my shoulder and I sighed. I turned my head to see Ikuto's face only inches away. He wasn't leaning down as far as he used to, but he had the same smirk in place.
"You've gotten taller Amu." He said quietly, and I looked away from him. I started to walk away when his arms snaked around my waist. I blushed, and looked down at his arms, they were very warm, and I sighed. He quickly blew into my ear, making me push him off of me. I walked off and into the bathroom, and shut it in his face before he could walk in. I didn't forget to lock it before I started to undress.
After showering
I walked out of the bathroom, my hair was dripping down my back. I had on a short black skirt, black boots, and a dark blue shirt. The shirt's sleeves only came to my mid-arm, and the whole shirt only came to my belly button. It had a black cat on it, and seeing me wearing this made Ikuto raise an eye-brow. His gaze also lowered to my stomach as he took in the belly-button piercing I had, my ring also had a small cat on it. I felt my gaze stay in-different as I plopped onto my small red couch. I felt his hand caress my cheek, and I slowly opened my eyes. Kira and Lulu were picking on Yoru, which made me smile slightly, and Ikuto was standing above me, his hand on my cheek. I sat up and jumped away from the couch, and walked toward my bedroom.
"Ah, so sleepy still. Shower's there, food in the fridge. Stay out of my room pervert." I called to him as I shut the door behind me, and sighed at there being no lock. I set a alarm on my phone and lied down, soon falling back asleep.
5 hours later
I woke up to the sound of my noisy alarm clock. I sighed, and opened my phone to shut it off. I walked out of my bedroom rubbing my eye slightly. I saw Ikuto sitting on the couch watching some little kid show. All the charas were watching too, and I noticed he was eating some chocolate ice-cream. I smiled slightly, He hasn't changed either... I thought as I noticed he didn't know I had come out. I quietly walked over to him and leaned close to him. I rested my arms on the back of the couch and watched him carefully.
"Wow, I didn't know you liked kiddy shows Ikuto." I smirked as he jumped at being caught watching this. He looked surprised that I had emphasized his name like he does mine. He sighed and closed his eyes and turned his head away from me. They opened again when I snatched the ice-cream out of his hand and started to eat it myself. He stood up, ears and tail now in place, as was a smirk, and he started walking toward me, obviously trying to snatch it back.
"Kira..." I murmured, and she jumped up, excitement in her blue eyes. "Hai! Chara change!" she called out to loudly as usual. I got ears and a tail just in time for me to dance out of Ikuto's grip. I smirked and took another bite. Then I dropped it and Lulu caught it, carrying it off. I wiped my mouth as the pink tail swung back and forth happily, and Ikuto started for me again. I moved out of his grasp and smirked, but determination was now on his face.
"We need to talk." He said simply, making me smirk even wider. "So talk." I answered as he kept reaching for me, yet I moved just in time. This continued for about fifteen minutes until he finally gripped my wrist and yanked me back, only to result in us falling onto the ground. I closed my eyes just in time for the impact, the wooden floor felt cold against my back, and I felt Ikuto's warm presence over me, I opened my eyes carefully, only to see sapphire eyes staring back at me. His body was pressed against every inch of mine, and my face was very red. He slowly pushed himself up, yet he kept his hands on either side of my head, and his knees were pressed against my thighs, keeping me in place.
"Now that I have you still... I'll talk." He murmured, his voice husky yet silky sweet. Our chara changes had disappeared now, and he looked serious and intense. "You said your family died, but why did you have to quit the guardians and leave your friends? Why didn't you try to stay with a family member?" His questions caught me off guard, and I felt my heart turn cold again, starting to close up on me. I pushed him off and stood up, Kira and Lulu at my sides as I began to walk away, heading for the door. I grabbed my bag, I looked inside and saw my key and phone and other things inside, Lulu must have gotten it ready. I slung it over my shoulder and grabbed for the door, only to be pulled back for Ikuto to look at me intensely.
"Why won't you answer me Amu? I'm being serious." I felt my teeth clench tightly together as I pulled away from him. "Stop acting like you own me! You haven't been around for three years! Don't just show up out of no where and expect me to tell you everything!" I shouted at him before running out of the apartment and hurling myself down the stairs. I didn't care if someone broke in, or if he didn't lock my door. I didn't care, and tears were on my face now, streaming widely. I ran outside and kept going. It was pouring outside, and my hair was getting soaked. Lulu and Kira were looking at me worriedly, and they were sitting inside my bag as I ran.
I heard loud footsteps a few feet back, Ikuto must be following me. I didn't care or stop, I just kept running. I ran and twisted and turned in dark alleys. When I didn't hear his footsteps any longer I stopped, and leaned against a building's wall. I slowly lowered to the ground and hugged my knees to my chest, breathing heavily, shivering a bit from the cold. Lulu was flying around me frantically, trying to figure out what to do. Kira sighed and pushed her sister.
"Jeez Lulu, can't you see that Amu-chan is sad? Stop worrying about where we are." I pulled them to me, hugging them against my face, not letting them even start to disappear. I wouldn't be able to take it.
"This seems familiar..." I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up warily to see Yukari, she had an umbrella in one hand, and the other was held out to me. I took it without hesitation this time and she slowly walked with me towards Eater Co. so I could get ready for the show.
(Yaya's POV)
I held a newspaper in front of my face, and didn't pay much attention at my friends Tadase, Kairi, Nagehiko, Rima, and Kukai as they watched t.v. My eyes widened at the headline, and I nearly choked on the cookie I had been eating. "AMU-CHI?!" I shrieked as I stared at the paper. There was a picture of Amu, standing on a stage, and singing in front of many people. The headline said 'This wonderful singer, known as Hinamori Amu, shows everyone her talent again at the Ojiyuko theater last night!'
"Yaya-chan? What is it?" Nagehiko asked as he peered over my shoulder, and then his eyes widened at the picture. "Amu-chan?!" His response was the same as mine, and everyone came over to see what was going on.
"AMU-CHAN?!" They all shouted in sync, making me nod in shock. All the charas stared at us, shocked looks on their faces. "Keep reading!" Kukai shouted and I did.
A few more shocking moments later
"Apparently Amu-chi has been a singer for two months!" I said, still confused.
"Isn't that when..." Tadase trailed off, and we all nodded sadly. "Look there," Nagehiko pointed towards the bottom of the page. "Amu-chan is having a concert tonight! We have to go see her!" We all nodded and jumped up, going for the door instantly.
7:45 PM
(Amu's POV)
I sighed as two girls were continuing to put things on my face, do my hair, and find me clothes. I wouldn't let them dress me since my clothes were dry now, and they looked fine. They curled my hair at the bottom, and I was surprised how healthy it looked considering I had slept on it when it was wet.
I walked out of the dressing room, and Lulu was close behind me. "Where's Kira?" I asked quietly, not looking at her. "Kira ran off with Iru." Lulu answered, and we soon arrived at the area behind the stage. My eyes widened as I saw Ikuto standing there with Utau and Yukari. Yukari came forward first, and grabbed my wrists in excitement. "Okay Amu-chan! Go below stage for your big appearance!" I nodded and did as she told me.
I stood directly under a door, and when the music started it raised me up onto the stage, along with Lulu. I had my eyes closed as I grabbed the microphone, listening to people shout my name. The music slowed and I knew it was my turn to sing.

The music started it's beat again and I opened my eyes. They widened and I froze as I saw six familiar faces stare at me with shock. The music kept playing, and people expected me to continue, yet I was frozen in place. Lulu looked at me worriedly, and I felt tears fall down my face. "I'm sorry!" I yelled before I turned and ran off the stage. Yukari tried to stop me but thankfully Kira chara changed and I jumped out of her reach. I ran off as she started to go after me, only to be stopped by Ikuto. "Have Utau delay them" He whispered as I heard his footsteps come after me.
I felt his hand grip my wrist as he pulled me back and pushed me against the wall. My golden eyes were more honey colored from my tears as I stared up at him. My chara change had worn off, and I was shaking and struggling. He pinned my wrists on either side of my head, yet I continued to struggle against his grip.
"Let me go! Get your hands off of m-" I was cut off as his lips pressed tightly against mine. My eyes were wide, yet his were closed and I felt his tongue trace my lips, licking the tears off of them. He pulled away slightly, and I felt his warm breath against my lips as he slowly breathed. His eyes opened and stared into mine as he released my wrists and wiped the tears from my face.
A few minutes later of consoling.
I walked back to the stage, and I apologized to Yukari as she scolded me for running off. I nodded as I heard the music start again, and I went to take my place quickly. I listened to the music and people cheered as I came back to the stage and started again.

I watched as my friends' eyes widened as fifteen peoples' hearts eggs turned into X eggs. They looked shocked, trying to decided whether or not to get up and fix things.

The X eggs all came floating towards the stage, and Lulu grinned, pleased by how many there were. This is my new fate... I decided on this... I thought as I closed my eyes.

Everyone cheered except for twenty-one. Those fifteen people, and my old friends. I opened my golden eyes and then turned and walked away, Lulu and the X eggs following me. I heard as people stood and were beginning to leave, but some people were running. I watched as Yukari was cheering, and she hugged me. "Good job Amu-chan!" She said excitedly as the X eggs were caged and taken away by people I didn't know. Ikuto leaned against the wall, and then the door burst open, causing Lulu, Ikuto, Kira, Yoru, and me to look.
"Amu-chi!" I heard Yaya call as she ran towards me, along with the other five. I flinched and Ikuto decided to intervene, he walked in their path, his back pressed slightly against me, and I rested my head on it.
"Tsukiyomi Ikuto! You thieving cat, what did you do to Hinamori-san?!" Tadase shouted, and I laughed with no traces of humor. "Hinamori?" I walked around Ikuto, glaring at them. "Hinamori-san, Hinamori-san, HINAMORI-SAN?!" I shrieked at him, and he flinched. "After all these years you can only call me Hinamori-san?! You people called yourself my friends! When my whole family died no one even bothered to find me! I guess I know what friendship is to you...especially me." I turned and began walking, Lulu and Kira close behind. "Amu-chan..." I flinched as I heard Nagehiko speak my name.
"It wasn't like that Amu-chan..." He spoke quietly, I didn't turn, I just began walking again. I heard footsteps behind me, and then Ikuto was at my side. "Yeah right, I know what you were thinking! I was a big pushover who believed anything someone told me!" I quickened my pace and exited immediately, heading for my home, and Ikuto grabbed my arm. He stopped me and turned me around so that I faced him. He placed his hand on my cheek, and it was then I realized that I was crying. I wiped them away immediately, red marks appearing on my cheeks from my fingernails and Ikuto grabbed my hands in his.
"You don't have to act that way in front of me... I can see right through you..." He whispered as he placed his forehead on mine and more tears flowed out. He hugged me to his chest and let me cry, and eventually I fell asleep in his arms.
(Ikuto's POV)
I carried Amu carefully to her apartment, watching as Lulu rummaged in her bag for the key and unlocked the door, and somehow closed it. I looked at Amu, she was still so small despite the fact she'd developed and gotten a little taller since I saw her last. Her face was peaceful yet pained, I wasn't going to tell her anything. It was none of my business. I set her down on her bed, and when I pulled away her fingers locked around my collar, and I turned to see her gold eyes open, they were red from crying.
"Stay with me Ikuto..." She murmured quietly, and I simply nodded, and lied down next to her and watched as she lied her head on my chest, falling back asleep.
