Brothers cometh.
I own nothing.
Seto pov
Despite our childish altercation in grade school. Yugi, the twins, and I turned out to be, after some time, good friends. When I learned about what their parents did, my older brother, Seth, and I put together everything we could to make them feel happy and safe again. All seemed a waste, sadly. No matter what we tried they were never the same after that night. Yugi never challenged me to duels, Romulus never picked fights, and Sharea never cast a spell. Now, they've been missing for a year. I hadn't stopped searching for that Halloween night when they seemed to go up and vanish into thin air.
Seth walked into the room and sighed "Seto, you need to rest. If you keep this up you'll be a zombie and maybe Yugi and they will find you and add you to their Halloween party." he laughed good naturally, but this made me freeze in thought. "Of course, why didn't I think of it before? The one time of year they spirits would be raised." I stood and looked out the window wondering how many down below were not truly of this realm. "Tell me, brother. Who comes out on Halloween in olden tales?" Seth looked confused "Um, ghost, goblins,..." I continued in his place "Witches, Werewolves, and Vampires, perhaps." Seth's eyes got wide "You don't think that,...I mean logically it's..." I threw him a glare "When it comes to Sharea, Romulus, and Yugi, logic is nothing. Logic doesn't explain my broken arm being heal in a matter of seconds, or the wolf the seemed to love to mess with us. Or the constant fear from those who tried to go against them before their parents attacked them. No logic means nothing when their names come into the mix."
I turned from the window and went downstairs to my younger brothers' rooms. "Mokuba, Noah, would you mind if I came with you tonight?" the two boys looked up at me in surprise. I struggled not to laugh at their costumes. Mokuba was dressed up as a skeleton and Noah was a zombie. They were both given the chance to bye the best, but they insisted on making their own. I admit they didn't do bad, but they still looked ridiculous. "Sure, big brother, but why?" asked Noah. I rolled my eyes, "Noah, have I mentioned today that you are too suspicious?" he thought for a moment. "Nope, not today."
'What did I get myself into?!' I thought as I dragged along my bag of candy. "Geez, you'd think people would ask if we were too old for this?" said Seth helping me with my bag. "I like candy as much as the next guy, but I'm here to see if Yugi and the twins will die..."
A yell interrupted me "Hey, let go!" we turned and saw a gorilla-like kid trying to get a kids candy sack. I started to speak up, when a young trio I knew all too well seemed to appear out of the mist. "Sir, I must request you release that sack and continue on your way," said Sharea as she lovingly stroked the pendant around her neck. "Tell you what, girly. I'll ignore you and you and your two freaks will go away."
Romulus crossed his arms and glared at the boy "Okay, you warned him. Can I do my thing now?" the two next to him laughed "Alright, Romy." Sharea's eyes flashed at the boy "I'll hold him." the boy was suddenly stiff as a board and hoisted, as though by an invisible rope, into the air. The stiffness vanished and the boy fought, throwing curses and yelling at the three. Romulus vanished and in his place was a juvenile wolf cub. It ran under the boy and started jumping up to bite him. Yugi put his hands on his hips and tilted his head upward. "I don't know, maybe Jack should take this one. We've had eight already and the sun is coming." I looked at the horizon. Sure enough, the sun was starting to rise. Sharea sighed "True, you're right. Romy, he gets it. Let's get home before Lupa starts to get worried." the boy fell to the ground and, with one final growl at him, Romulus ran to his sister's side and changed back.
They looked toward the rising sun. "We better go. The gateway will close soon and we'll be stuck here until Thanksgiving," said Yugi and they ran off into a wooded area. I got up and ran after them. "Seto, Seto, don't!" yelled Seth coming after me. I heard him turn to Mokuba and Noah "Go home, we'll be there soon."
The three slowed down at a circle of trees. In the center were gathered creatures of all sizes and shapes. They all looked worried and scared. "Momma Le Fay, why is everyone still here? The sun is coming, the vampires can't last under its rays." a tall woman came off from a group of witches "The way is sealed, my little spell caster." Yugi groaned and the sun touched some of his skin. He yanked away and ran to the vampires under the shade of a tree. They welcomed him with open arms and shielded him from the coming rays.
A booming voice called over everyone's heads. "What is the meaning of this? You all should be back in town by now." A very tall skeleton made his way through. "Jack, the door to home is sealed." whimper Sharea in fear. "Sealed? The only thing that seals the door is a non-believer's presents." I froze at this and turned to Seth. "Seth, go home," I whispered. He was about to protest when one of the vampires, a tall version of Yugi, cried out in pain and the sun burnt his entire arm. Yugi broke through the ranks and pulled him into the group with him.
Seth got up and ran away, once he was a good ways away. The door with a pumpkin opened. The group cheered and the skeleton took charge "Covens, use your cloaks to shield the sunlight from the vampires. They need to go in first." the witches and warlocks swiftly untied their cloaks and used them to shield a path for the vampires. Yugi and his tall look alike were the last to go in. Yugi turned and looked right at me. He smiled a fanged smiled, mouthed "Thank you." and ran in supporting his friend. Next were the wolves. Like Yugi, Romulus was the last. He looked at me and gave a slight bow before going in the door. Sharea's coven and others went in and left only the skeleton and young girl. Sharea tied her cloak back on and looked at me. "Thanks, Seto," she said with a small wave before throwing up her hood and going in. The skeleton looked at my hiding place, which I just gave up at this point, and smiled. "You take care of them, hear? If I find out next year they aren't happy they're coming home with me, got it?" I said shaking a finger at him before going after my older brother.
