Fox Xanatos looked on at the scene, an actually very adorable scene. In a small corner in the back of her head (reserved for freaking out), she knew that this was very bad. However, the only thing she did in the situation was call her husband—because he'd know what to do about it. When David got there, the first thing he did was pull his wife into a secluded room.
"How long has he been like that?" He demanded in a hushed whisper.

"Since before I came in to take him upstairs" She answered. They both looked back in the room, where Puck-not Owen-Puck was playing with Alexander. "What do we do?" She asked him, a twinge of fear creeping alongside her words with the remembrance of Puck's curse. "If he's out then our baby is in trouble." He looked back in the room.

"We wait" He answered. "We waited this long, we can wait until sunset. They do know more about magic then we do."

After sunset found Fox, David, Elisa, and a few that could be spared from patrol sitting in a circle around Puck, Alexander, being rocked to sleep by a cloud of magic. "I felt it around mid-morning" the fey said, uncharacteristically serious. "It was pulsing, I only felt it once then it vanished again. It was a wave of magic like I've never felt before. It was strong, it was unstable, it seems to be getting stronger, and worst of all-it keeps vanishing. I can't find it to protect him from it or to neutralize it."

"So whatda we do about it?" Lexington asked.

"There's nuthan to do lad. We jus have ta hope it's friendly." Hudson murmered

"It can be friendly all it wants" The mischief maker replied. "That's not what I'm worried about. Unstable magical core like that—the slight bump could make it blow!"

"Slightest bump? You believe it be some sort of artifact scheduled to go off at any time?" Goliath asked him.

"Haven't you been listing to me strong man? I don't know what it is, where it is, how it's gaining power—nothing. The only hints I have are that it's somewhere in the Manhattan area and that it's organic."

"Wait" Lexington said. "You just said you don't know what it is—how do you know it's organic?"

"Aye lad—and how do ye know it's in Manhattan?" The group looked back at him, aware that they were talking to a trickster. Puck at least looked mortified when he explained to them

"I thought it was an artifact. Even Oberon doesn't feel like that, closer to the Phoenix Gate. So I cast a spell to lock out all inorganic magic for a twenty four hour period so that I could try and dissuade it from being used, at least long enough to find it and figure out what it was. Except if it's an artifact, it must be wearing a meat suit of some kind. It felt my magic and now it's probably tracking me." Fox looked over to the sleeping baby.

"If it finds you…what will it do?" Puck shrugged.

"I have no idea. Any and everything I suppose, from trying to get my signature off to forget about me if it's sentient…or an attempt to destroy anything with my magic on it if it's scared of me." He looked at all of them, seeped inn his magic as they were. "Either way—sounds like a roaring good time, now doesn't it?

"Demona!" They all looked at Lexington. "She's in danger to isn't she? Being a sorceress and all, do you think it'll go after her first, Maybe…give us a chance to defend ourselves if we see what it can do" Everyone looked to Puck hopefully, a hope that was crushed as the fey simply started laughing.

"Demona gets her magic from a spell book, granted-she has a core, but it's the rough equivalent to a meal vs. a buffet. That thing is after me and Alexander." At the confirmation of her fears, Fox snatched her sleeping son out of the cloud he'd been resting on and cradled him to her chest.

"Why is it after Alexander?" She asked, keeping her voice controlled.

"Oh it'll be after you too. The amount of magic I've got will attract it. Then him, then you, then the Gargoyles-starting with Demona, Elisa, and lastly David-he has the least magic clinging to him. The atmosphere of the room became heavy and dark.

"So" Elisa broke the silence. "We have to find this thing…which may or may not be sentient, and convince it not to kill us all." Puck smiled widely.

"That's the general gist of it yes."

"And what about the interim?" David asked. "How do we keep Alex safe? Everyone safe?"

"You keep an eye on me" He said. "So long as I feel the magical disturbance, I'll be like this. And so long as I'm alive-it hasn't hunted me down yet."

"Yeah" Lexington murmured "that's a vote of confidence. We won't know anything's wrong unless you either change back or die!" Puck shrugged and nodded. Goliath growled deeply and curled himself up in thought.

"How easy would it be to destroy it?" He asked Puck. In response the fey shrugged again.

"It's impossible to tell. I can't figure out what it is until it reavels itself, until then—it's shooting at meat suits until we hit the right one"

"NO" The police officer in Elisa came out in full at the prospet of hurting innocents. Goliath thought a bit more, then spoke again

"If it is sentient, we are lucky. If not…it may destroy Manhattan in an effort to eradicate whatever it senses. We may all have to leave the area if it proves to be malicious…which means we will also need to get Demona." He growled again. "She may prove difficult. We cannot let her know what her resistance will assure; she hates humans enough to have…what did you call it? The object of war used in the battle of cold?"

"The Cold War" Elisa corrected. "And it was mutually assured destruction…though Demona won't be destroyed." She glared at the thoughts inside her mind, when her phone rang. She answered the call, stepping away from the group as she did so.

"There any way to force this thing to give itself away?" David asked all business. Puck shook his head.

"I'd 've put a tracking spell on it when I felt it if it weren't so short. Like I said, just a pulse, nothing to really go with." The ancient being shrugged once. "This is literally all I can do at this point" Fox took a deep breath as Elisa rushed back into the room.

"We've got more problems! That was my brother. He said that no one's seen Claw for days! On top of it-when they were looking for him, they discovered one of the tunnels has been closed off by five feet of steal and a passcode" Goliath growled.

"Hudson, you and Bronx watch Alexander, Lexington-We will accompany Elisa to the newest problem. Puck" The fey looked up, only to have Goliath's glowing white eyes fixed on him. "Find more information on it, or at least figure out how to distract it". With that, he grabbed Elisa and he and Lexington left. Puck glanced to David, who nodded and the fey simply vanished. David turned away

"Where are you going?" Fox asked her husband. He turned back to her, and walked over, kissing her and Alexander both.

"I'm just setting up a little…insurance" With that, he left abruptly.
