(SONG: "Yasashii Kibou" — Snow White with the Red Hair OP1 — Lucinda E. English cover)
YOUNG GUARDIANS
At the beginning it all seemed so unclear/I try to speak fluidly but lose my words/the things that I want to say/get tangled up and fade away/in the end/does it seem like I have a voice/counting to three/I start to breathe/hoping that these tender feelings I hold dear/can stay till the end!
Can you see me here/in this place where I'm making my own way/as I draw my plans into the sky/will they reach to you/today I will hope/that I'll come home to you with open arms and rejoice/ah/and you'll smile/just like I always knew you would/I know/I know it!
(End of the song)
Episode 2 – Spirit of Light
OOOOOOO
Jack ran through the snow in Iris' home, laughing and having a good time with the young 16-year-old Princess of Winter. Iris was a beautiful teen girl, with her waist length wavy pale blond hair hanging loosely out of a messy ponytail, and her lilac eyes showing pure joy. It was the year 2000, a month after Jack and Iris first met, and so far they were having a blast together.
"Could you slow down, Jack!?" She called while laughing, which in response, made Jack laugh.
"Try and make me!" He called before feeling the impact of a snowball hit the back of his head, making him fall forward and land in a pile of snow. Iris couldn't contain the belly laugh that erupted from her perfectly pink painted lips, and once she calmed down, she noticed Jack was still in the snow, not moving or doing anything to retaliate.
"Jack?" She called, worry slowly creeping into her blood stream. And it stayed in it's new home for Jack never answered her. "Jack!?" She called again as she rushed up to him and fell to her knees beside him. She went to turn him over to make sure he was legit okay, when he shot up and tackled her with a battle cry, making her yelp and start laughing as they rolled down the hill slope together, ending in the position of Jack on top of her.
Iris looked into Jack's icy blue eyes, her laughter stopping immediately, as he looked into her lilac ones, a small blush forming on their cheeks. Their faces were mere inches away from each other. Iris could feel Jack's cold, minty breath hit her face, cooling down the heat that had risen up to it.
"Iris," He spoke with slight hesitation. "I-" He didn't finish, for Iris reached up and placed a sweet kiss on his lips, shocking the young Winter Spirit. She pulled away after a while, looking at him for what seemed like hours.
"I'm sorry. I-" It was Iris' turn to not finish as Jack planted his lips back onto hers, which surprised the princess for a short moment. But as soon as the shock came it went as she returned the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to deepen it further, as he wrapped one of his arms around her waist, the other still latched onto his shepard's staff.
They stayed like this for a minute, maybe two or three, before the need for air made them part ways and looked at each other as their foreheads touched.
"Please, be my beloved?"
"Of course," Iris said with a smile.
"JACK!" Bunny's voice broke out, making Jack jump at the sudden sound and look at the Australian rabbit. "Are you listening?!"
"I'm sorry, I was busy having a pleasant memory of Iris," Jack retorted. "If you would have known her as I did, maybe you would be like this too!"
Crystal looked at him from her spot on the couch in North's Workshop, while nursing a cup of hot coco that Tooth brought her. After everything she heard, after being told she was the daughter of the Snow Queen herself, kind of rendered her speechless. And that was a tough phase to get to with her. She was always a Chatty Cathy back with her friends and foster parent, unless she was pulling pranks.
"What's going on?" Jack finally spoke again after the glaring contest he had with Bunny. Thankfully, a little fury bunny hopped in and went straight up to him, causing the Easter Bunny to relax and calm down.
"AW!" A sweet voice spoke up as a girl rushed in and knelt down to the little creature. She had pink hair that stopped at her waist, in curls and waves. It almost reminded Jack of Princess Aurora's hair from Sleeping Beauty. Crystal also found her eagerness and hyper-activity to be a little too much for her in this moment of time.
"You must be Faith Cross, Spirit of Spring?" North asked, making the young girl look up at him.
"Indeed I am!" She said, making Jack nod in understanding...even though the conversation wasn't aimed at him. Oriana had walked in at this point, and rolled her eyes at the peppy pink clad spirit.
Unlike Faith, Oriana looked more like Princess Ariel, with her full head of golden locks hanging behind her back with nothing to hold them up. For the Spirit of Summer, you'd think she'd have shorter hair. She did, however, wear an outfit of plain denim jean shorts and a yellow tank-top with an orange sun on it. She also, to Jack's delight and deteste, was barefoot.
"Ye're too peppy, Cross!" The Summer Spirit said with her Scottish accent before noticing Crystal, staring at her coco.
"Thank you!" Faith exclaimed as she stood up with a big smile.
"Oh, I like you!" Tooth said as she fluttered towards her.
"Oh great," Bunny began, "just what Tooth needs: another friend."
"Oh, relax, dad!" The tiny bunny said as swirl of water wrapped around her, rising and then dropping, revealing a cute girl of 15 herself, with grayish white hair in two low pigtails, poofy white hairbands holding both up, and bright green eyes like Bunny's. She too had an Australian accent. "Every girl needs at least one or two gal pals!"
"Dad?" Jack asked with surprise, making the girl look at him while Crystal looked up at her.
"Yeah, mate!" She exclaimed with a smile. "I'm Lily Hope, Bunny's daughter! Nice to meet you!"
"You too. I'm sure the kangaroo's told you about me already," Jack said with a smirk, which made Crystal stifle a snort from escaping her lips. But it seemed to have failed for Jack looked at her and grinned.
"He has," Lily said as she looked back at her father.
"Lily, why are you here?" Bunny asked, wiping the smile off the little bunny's face.
"Why should I not be here?" She asked in return. "It's not like I'm forbidden to-"
"He's probably just trying to keep you safe from me," A voice spoke up, making everyone look over to see Malvado Black, with her pumpkin orange hair flowing down her back like a waterfall. "I mean, I am a Black after-all."
"A Black?" Crystal finally spoke after hours of being there now. It seemed to have surprised Sandy, for he looked right at her. He tapped her hand and got her attention. He made images of the last battle with the Boogeyman himself, but he could tell she was having trouble understanding him. So, he resorted in using words with his sand. Once he got to spelling out Pitch Black, she understood.
"Oh, I get it now," She said, making Sandy smile in response. "Thanks for the explanation."
"Malvado," Oriana began, trying her best not to shoot a stream of flames at her. "What brings ye here?"
"Didn't North tell you?" Malvado answered as she walked in further. "I was chosen."
"Chosen? For what?" Crystal asked as she finally stood up and set her cup down on the coffee table.
"First off, nice to hear voice from you, Crystal," North said, making the young girl grin at him.
After the encounter with Blanca, Jamie took Sophie home to help her get through it, and Jack brought Crystal to the North Pole to get answers. She met everyone, minus Bunny since she met him at the park. North seemed like the grandpa she wished she could have had.
"Secondly," North began again as he walked to the front of the Globe Room, standing in front of the Globe itself, "you four were chosen to be guardians."
"All at the same time?" Oriana asked with surprise.
"But, from the looks of this girl, I'd say she's mortal," Faith interjected.
"Actually," Crystal began, as she made a little snowflake in her hand, "I'm Queen Iris' daughter."
"WHAT?!" Oriana screamed, her hair going into flames like Hades. This made Crystal back up some in fear as the snowflake she made melted in her palm.
"Ana, calm down!" Jack yelled as he rushed up to her, not caring if he got burnt. He whispered into her ear, and her hair calmed, making her look right at Crystal again. She sighed as Jack backed up as she smiled over at the young girl.
"Sorry," She began, "I'm Oriana Heat, Spirit of Summer."
"Crystal Marie," Crystal began, feeling confused yet again, "Princess of Winter? I don't know." Faith giggled at that statement before linking her arm with the white haired girl's.
"Oh, it's alright! You'll figure it out soon!" She said with a big smile.
"I'm sorry," Malvado broke the moment, making everyone glare at her, but she ignored it. "If she's a Winter Child, then she's not needed because Jack's already a guardian."
"Actually, Malvado," North began, trying not to pull his sword on the fear-making girl, "Manny chose Seasonal Guardians."
"Seasonal Guardians?" Crystal asked. "What are those?" She figured if she was apart of this world, she'd learn everything she could off the bat.
"Seasonal Guardians are those who have the powers of Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring," Tooth explained. "So far it's an all girl team. Usually Manny chooses at least one boy to join as well."
"Guess he switched it up," Bunny stated under his breath to Tooth.
"But, I thought Mal was the Spirit of Halloween," Faith spoke up, still with her one arm linked with Crystal's.
"I'm also the Spirit of Fall, Faith," Malvado said in return. "Which I can see why Manny chose me."
"Why would he choose you, mate?" Bunny asked with a glare. "You're the sister of Pitch Black, Spirit of Fear and Nightmares! You're probably just as bad as him!"
"That's where you're wrong, kangaroo!" Malvado yelled, causing Jack to snort at the remark. "I maybe Pitch's sister, but that doesn't mean I'm evil like him! I may cause fear on one night of the year, but I do it out of fun!" Jack perked up at that word, since he was the Guardian of Fun, after all. "Halloween shouldn't be about scaring people or giving kids nightmares! It should be about freedom to express who you are and who you want to become! That's what I strive to prove to you all, but y'all to dumb in the head to realize that!"
"I'm all for individuality," Oriana began, "but Halloween is one of yer brother's most prominent nights! How can we be sure ye aren't helping him out?!"
"ENOUGH!" Crystal screamed as a blast of cold filled the room, making everyone go quiet and look at her. Faith even moved back some. "I can't take this anymore!"
"Hey, kiddo, it's okay," Jack began as he walked up to her and placed a comforting hand on her back. "just calm down."
"Calm down!?" Crystal yelled as she pulled away from him. "How am I supposed to calm down when my whole world is now turned upside down!?"
"Crystal, dear," Tooth started.
"No!" Crystal yelled. "No...I have a right to feel like this!"
Malvado looked right at Crystal and after seeing how Jack treated her with her outburst, she knew immediately. Jack was Crystal's father. It all made sense how her snow was more powerful. First of all, Iris could never let the room go chilled that quick like Crystal could. It usually took the young queen a few tries before finally getting it below freezing. And secondly, the snowflake she had made earlier looked identical to Jack's when he was doing the "nipping at your nose" bit. A trick that she, herself, didn't enjoy much.
But there seemed to have been a problem: Crystal didn't know.
"I need some time alone," Crystal finally spoke, before racing out of the room and right passed Grimhilde who was walking back.
"Did I miss something?" The Spirit of Death asked with confusion as Malvado walked up to Jack and whispered in his ear.
"Go to your daughter...be there for her," She had said, making Jack look at her out of confusion. How she knew Crystal was his daughter, he didn't know, but he knew she was right. So, he raced out of the room after her.
"Crystal!" He called.
OOOOOOO
Crystal ran through a double door into a room with a bay window and old scraps on a work bench. On the window itself, she noticed a little frost figure of Sandy, making her grin before walking over to the window.
Jack was about to walk passed the door, only stopping when he saw Crystal inside the room, looking out of the big window he sat by when Sandy was defeated.
(SONG: "Everything I Ever Thought I Knew" – Tangled: The Series) [Lyric change – pretend it's a girl singing]
A single tear fell down Crystal's cheek as she stared out it.
CRYSTAL: I thought I was an outcast/I thought I stood alone/an orphan with strange powers/no place to call my home/I thought no one could love me/and how could I have known/I was wrong/oh so wrong (Thinks of a JAMIE and grins) and then I thought I found it/a dream that had come true/I thought I was so lucky/I didn't know what to do/I thought I knew my purpose/I thought that I knew where I belong/but I was wrong! (Her grin falls as she remembers the events of earlier) Everything I ever thought I knew/where I've been/where I'm going/everything I counted on turned out to be untrue/could've guessed/should've known/now, I do.
Jack sighed through his nose as he watched Crystal turn around from the window, showing the anger now in her lilac eyes.
CRYSTAL: Everything I've yearned for/everything I've known/all my sweetest memories were castles made of snow/now that it's all crumbling/help me understand/if none of it was really me/then who am I supposed to be!?
And everything I ever thought I knew/every hope/every feeling/all the trust and happiness are done, they're gone, they're through/and what's left/me alone/once again/should've known/now I do.
The young guardian went to go inside as the young girl sat down in front of the window, but stopped at Crystal's last statement, feeling tears prick his own eyes.
CRYSTAL: I guess he is important/I guess he never showed/I thought that he had loved her/oh, dad where/did/you go?
(End of the song)
Jack stood in complete shock, as the memory of the day he found out about Iris played through his mind.
Jack was laying in a tree near the park, seeing a little 4-year-old with brown hair and brown eyes playing on a swing with his father pushing him.
"Higher daddy! Higher!" The little boy yelled, as the mother was holding a little bundle in a pink blanket.
This made Jack smile, thinking of what it could be like being a father himself. Sure, he was a spirit and really couldn't, or shouldn't, have children with anyone, but he was in love with a newly crowned Queen Iris. Well, two years of being queen still counted as "newly crowned" in Jack's book. However, he couldn't wipe the smile of maybe finally popping the question to Iris. To be with her for the rest of eternity had a nice sound to it...and to be called Prince of Winter didn't hurt either.
'It sure would get Bunny to respect me, that's for sure,' He thought to himself before he saw Oriana rush through the brush of the woods with a quickened step.
"JACK!?" She screamed. "JACK! WHERE THE BLOODY HECK ARE YOU?!"
Jack's heart quickened as he quickly flew down to Oriana and rushed up to her. "Oriana, what happened? What's going on?" He asked with worry, making the Summer Spirit look at him, tears burning her tear ducts.
"It's Iris," She began, making Jack tense up and fear driven now as he went to rush towards the kingdom he knew his beloved was placed, only to be stopped by Oriana's hot hand grabbing his wrist. "Jack!"
"I have to protect her!" He yelled at her.
"Ye're too late!" She yelled back, making him stop struggling as he looked at her with his own tears now freezing his cheeks.
"What?" His voice was quiet and hoarse, like he just lost it to a sea witch.
"She's gone. She used all the power she could to save her people...and to protect you," Oriana explained, as she let go of Jack's wrist, revealing the forming burn mark in it's place. "She loved you so much, Jack."
"No," Jack began as he backed up out of fear, "no...she-she can't be..." He didn't want to believe it. He had to see. He needed to know for himself. So without warning, he took to the sky at full speed towards Iris' kingdom.
"No, Jack!" Oriana called after him, only for it to be in vein. "Dang it, Frost."
Jack was fast as he flew in the sky, seeing the big castle of his beloved in his sights. He quickly landed in the kingdom, seeing the frozen structures as the snow gently fell here. He even noticed some of the citizens and servants, even maids, were frozen in place. It was like Iris used a powerful magic to keep her kingdom frozen in time until the time came to thaw it out.
"Iris?!" Jack called as he ran up to the castle doors and bursted through them, running down the halls in a quickened pace. "Iris, where are you?!" He called again, only to stop in the throne room where he saw her crown on the polished tiled floor...but no sign of Iris.
"IRIS!"
Jack shook his head as if trying to forget that memory, before looking back at Crystal and walking into the room. It seemed to have startled the young teen, for she jumped at the sound and looked up as Jack stopped and stared. She stared at him too, hoping he'd be the first to speak. Even though she met him already, there was something about Jack that she couldn't place really. Something she felt connected to. Maybe it was because they both possessed the power of winter. Or maybe it was all in her head.
"You okay?" He finally spoke, making Crystal sigh and look at her hands. "Hey, I know it's hard to control sometimes. But-"
"It's not my powers, Jack," She began, "it's all this...this new life that I'm about to live." Jack just nodded as he walked further in and sat down beside her at the window. "I mean, I'm ecstatic to finally know who my mother was. She sounded like a beautiful woman."
"She was," Jack replied, making Crystal look at him, "inside and out."
"I take it you knew her?" She asked with a grin.
"Knew her? She was my best friend," Jack began, knowing that saying that was a lie, "correction...she was my girlfriend."
"For how long?" Crystal asked with a hint of surprise.
"Four years," He answered. He began telling her everything he could about her mother, leaving out the years they were together. Mainly because she probably could figure it out on her own. From what he'd witnessed from meeting her and seeing her use the magic she was born with, to now, she was a pretty smart girl.
At the end of his tale, he finished with a little phrase that Iris used to say: "'Love is your wings, use them.' That's what she always said to anyone who needed a helping hand...it's actually what she told me when we first met."
"Oh, that's beautiful," Crystal said with a sigh. "I wish I could have known her."
"I wish you could have too," Jack began, "I'm sure she was a wonderful mother."
"I'm sure she was for the 3 years of my life," Jack looked at her confused. "I know I was 3 when I was taken to the orphanage. I just, don't know who did."
Jack grinned at her before standing up and looking right at his daughter. He should tell her the truth of who he was, but he chose to wait. She was already dealing with so much with a new life and new home, he didn't want to burden her with anymore news. So he decided to wait for the right time.
"You know, I know what you're going through," He said, making her look up at him. "In 2012, after 300 years of asking what I was made for, I had gotten the answer to be a Guardian of Childhood. And boy, was I not wanting any part of it."
"Well, what did you do about that?" Crystal asked.
"What did I do? I tried to get out of it," Jack began again as he sat back down next to her, "but before I could, Tooth's palace got attacked by Pitch Black, the Boogeyman. Here's hoping you'll never meet him. His sister, from what I hear, is bad enough." Crystal giggled as Jack continued his story. "Anyway, all the teeth had been stolen and a lot of Tooth's little fairy helpers, the ones you've seen her bark orders at, were kidnapped."
"Oh no!"
"Pitch had done all this to get the Guardians in one place and I was an idiot to follow them. But I'm glad I did," Jack smiled at the memory. He told it like it was just yesterday, even though it was 7 years ago at this point. But he stopped when got to the ending, trying not to tear up as he thought of it.
"What's wrong, Jack?" Crystal spoke, making the Winter Spirit look at her again.
"Nothing, just a memory," He answered as he wiped a quick tear away. "After I got my memories back, I realized I was a Guardian, for I had saved my sister from falling through the ice, which-"
"Which is how you became Jack Frost!" Crystal exclaimed with a smile. "How clever of the Moon."
"Yeah, you could say that," Jack said with a chuckle. "I managed to get back to my first believer and kept him as the only light left for us to stay in childhood memories. And in the process, I found my center."
"That's why you're called the Guardian of Fun...that's you're core."
"Exactly," Jack smiled at Crystal's enthusiasm of his story. Even if she still didn't realize he was her father, he was glad he could tell her his story like a father should. "We eventually defeated Pitch, brought the belief back to children, and I was sworn into being a Guardian."
"Wow, quite a story there," Crystal exclaimed as she smiled a beautiful smile...Iris' smile. "It almost doesn't seem real."
"Oh, trust me, kiddo...it's real. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't," He stated, making Crystal giggle at his statement. "I know you can do this, Crystal. Be a Guardian of Winter."
"But I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole, Princess thing."
"Well, let me give some advice," Jack said as he took her hand into his and gave it a slight squeeze of reassurance. "Forget about that for now. In this moment, you are chosen to be a Guardian, and your fellow seasons need you to accept. If Blanca is to ever be destroyed for good, you're needed."
"But what's my center?" Crystal asked, hoping the friend she had in this moment could help.
"Honestly, I don't know," Jack answered. "But I'm sure, just like with me, it'll come to you in due time. You just have to wait."
Crystal looked at Jack, her eyes showing that she wasn't ready for any of this. He sighed at the sight before he wrapped his arm around her and pulled to his chest, letting her rest there for a while. "Just relax, hun." He spoke as he leaned back against the wall behind him, making Crystal move closer, still with her head on his chest. "We'll go back when you're ready."
Crystal grinned at the scent of mint coming from Jack's hoodie. It calmed her down as she closed her eyes, letting sleep overcome her. Jack heard the silent snores and just chuckled at the sound as he brushed his hand through her long hair, which somehow and at some point, was taken out of it's ponytail.
"Sleep well," He began with a grin, "my little snowflake."
OOOOOOO
Jamie walked out of his house, zipping up his hoodie to keep warm. For some reason, the weather dropped drastically in the evening this summer. Why, he didn't know, but it was a nice change from the super hot days.
He walked down the path, seeing the little pond in his backyard and stopping at the edge of it. He looked at his reflection, memorizing his face, his eyes and hair color of the same brown. But he also saw memories of him and Crystal running around in her backyard as little kids, and in the park when they were both 9 and 10. It was hard to believe they grew up so much.
But this moment had to end as the images faded and another reflection appeared behind him, smirking with evil delight and making the young teen jump out of instinct to the side.
"What do you want?!" Jamie demanded as he stared daggers at the dark man before him.
"What do you think?" The man asked as his golden eyes looked right back at him.
"I don't even see how you were able to get enough strength to get out!" Jamie exclaimed, putting his fists in the pockets of his hoodie. "You're supposed to be trapped underground."
"That's what you say," Pitch said with his smirk back. "But if it wasn't for the fear of that beautiful girlfriend of yours...maybe I'd still be there."
Jamie's eyes widen at the realization. Crystal was afraid of her new life. A life she only had 3 years with. A life that she barely knew thanks to a wicked woman attacking her birth mother's home, her home. She was afraid and he couldn't go to her, to keep her calm and to show her that he was there for her. No matter what.
I sure hope Jack's doing something, He thought before looking back at Pitch, seeing that his smirk left and his gaze was set on the giant rock at the other end of the pond. Then, it hit the young teen in the head as to what Pitch had called Crystal, and made him blush slightly. "She's not my-"
"However," The Boogeyman began, interrupting Jamie's protest, "I'm not here to cause fear this night."
"Yeah, right," Jamie declared as he looked at the stone as well.
"I'm here to warn you, Jamie," Pitch looked at the boy again, who refused to look at him anymore than he already had. You could see in Jamie's eyes that he was trying to convince himself that the Boogeyman didn't exist anymore. "Blanca's evil. Wicked even. She's more powerful than I was back in 2012. She'll stop at nothing to get what she wants." Jamie continued to keep his gaze on the stone. "And what she wants...is Crystal dead."
Jamie tensed as he looked at Pitch, forgetting what he was doing moments earlier. "What?"
"I know you like her, Bennett," Pitch began again, making Jamie blush a bit and look at the water, "so I'm only telling you this because I know you'll do whatever you can, to protect her."
"Why tell me at all?" Jamie asked, still with his gaze at the pond. "I thought you'd like having Jack be miserable with losing his only daughter."
"Well, as much as I would like to see that," Began the evil man, causing Jamie to scoff, "I don't want to see the world go under a Dark Winter." Jamie looked at him again, and kept his gaze. "Protect her...be a guardian to her. Maybe then will she realize what she has in you." And with that, Pitch Black disappeared from Jamie's sight.
Jamie just sighed at this before looking back at the pond and grinned. For a guy who was once trying to take over the world, he sure didn't act like it now. Eventually, however, his grin faded as he thought of Crystal dying because of a wicked woman's power...or even Jack for that matter. Maybe even all the Guardians if that was the case! He couldn't bare the thought of losing any, or all, of his friends at once to a former Princess and sister to the Snow Queen. He couldn't bare it.
He looked up at the moon after a moment with concern in his eyes, trying to get some kind of idea in his mind to help. "As much as I don't want to listen to Pitch," He began with another sigh, basically talking to Manny at this point, "what choice do I have? Tell me, Manny...what do I do?" Just like with just 307 years ago, he got no answer. Why would he get one anyone? He wasn't a spirit like Jack or the Guardians. Heck, he wasn't even like Crystal who would soon stop aging with her her mother and father were. How the young girl didn't see the resemblance between her and Jack was beyond Jamie's knowledge. He could see it a mile away! And he knew Jack saw it almost immediately as well.
"You called for help?" A mature, but sweet voice spoke up, making Jamie spin around with a jump of a start before seeing a young woman, leaning against a tree trunk in the shade. From what the young teen saw, she had a white and pink gown on that looked mostly white, with silver accessories on her wrist, neck, and waist. He even saw the long light brown hair that was resting on her shoulder.
"Who are you?" Jamie asked with heavy breathing as he stared at her. She just smiled at him and pushed off of the trunk of the tree, before walking into the moonlight. Now that he got a good look at her, he saw her peachy pink eyes and a white crescent moon on her forehead. Her lips were even as red as a rose.
"I'm Celine," She began, "Celine Lunaire, Spirit of the Moon."
"I thought Manny was the Spirit of the Moon."
"He is," Celine began with a giggle as she walked further towards Jamie, "I'm his second in command. The one who says who would be a perfect fit as a Spirit, or a Guardian, or both."
"So you call all the shots?"
"Not, technically. I just say who is suited for the job, he has the heavy work," Celine answered as she stood in front of Jamie now, folding her hands in front of her and having them point to the ground. "Now, I understand you were asking for a hand from the Moon?"
"Well, yeah, but I wasn't expecting an actual answer!" Jamie declared, making Celine giggle again. "I mean, I'm a mortal...not a spirit like Jack."
"Yeah, I know that," Celine began as she took one more step closer to Jamie, "but we saw something that was unusual for faithful believers."
"What did you see?" Jamie asked, a bit tense now in hopes they saw good, and not evil.
"We saw a pure heart," Celine answered, making Jamie grin right back at her. He tried to keep as pure of a heart as possible, tried to keep his friends and family first before thinking of himself. Even Crystal witnessed most of his good deeds, mainly because most of them were towards her.
"A young boy who waits for the right moment to approach, and one who never backs down from a fight," Celine continued with her speech. "We also saw a magic in you. A magic just as pure as your heart."
"What are you saying?" Jamie began, sounding extremely confused at the sound of, well, any of this.
(SONG: "True Sisters" – Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess) [Lyric change – I'll say it again...don't ask.]
JAMIE: I'm just a normal, human teenager! I'm not a spirit (sighs) or magical.
CELINE: Only you see that. But what I see...is a Guardian in the making.
JAMIE: (Looks at her confused)
CELINE: Oh do you remember that day/when you saved the world from Pitch/you witnessed all the wicked ways/and darkness a nightmare can bring/now ever since/that battle won/we slowly saw a light/a light so pure/a light so true/that shines inside your heart.
JAMIE: Meaning...?
CELINE: The Man in the Moon has chosen you/to show the world your light/for even the seasons aren't enough/to battle this wicked sight/if only you/could see it's true/how your heart is the key/to win it all/prevent their fall/and set our/people free!/CHORUS/You are a true, spirit/even if your a mortal/true, true spirit/and an ever/after/friend.
JAMIE: Me? A spirit?
CELINE: Now Crystal feels like her life is lost/she's frightened and alone/but she is not the only heart/who is sinking like a stone/her world is now/turned upside down/she's looking for a friend/please say yes/just do your best/and be there till the end!
JAMIE: (Smiles with determination) What do I need to do?
CELINE: (Grins at him) Just do what you do best: be you. You are a true, spirit
JAMIE: Spirit
CELINE: Even if your a mortal/true, true spirit
JAMIE: Spirit
BOTH: And an ever/after/friend.
(End of the song)
"You ready?" Celine asked as she held out a hand to Jamie, making him look on in confusion once again.
"Ready? For what? To do what?" He asked, making the Moon Spirit smile once more.
"To unlock your powers."
OOOOOOO
Jack woke up to a loud bang of the door, making him jump with a start and wake up Crystal. Thankfully, she didn't hold a grudge like her mom did some times, for she just giggled and stretched out her stiff muscles.
"I needed to wake up anyway," She had said before noticing North at the door. "Hey, North!" North grinned at the young teen, seeing the beauty of her heart shine through her bright eyes. "What's up?"
"We need you two. Guardian meeting," He had said before walking away with a smile on his face. If only she knew, He thought.
"Guardian meeting?" Crystal asked as she looked over at Jack. "But I'm with the Seasonal Guardians."
"You're still a Guardian, Crys," Jack answered as he stood up and stretched before grabbing his staff again. "You still have to be there."
"Dang it!" She exclaimed as she groaned and stood up, making Jack snort. She was just like him at times. "I don't know how you do it, Jack!"
"I still don't know how I do it," Jack answered. "7 years, you think I would." Crystal giggled at this before that glint of mischief entered her eyes and pushed him quickly. "Tag! You're it!" And with that, she ran out of the room quickly, heading towards the Globe Room.
"Hey! No fair!" Jack yelled with laughter before racing after her. That's something I would have done, He thought with a smile as he ran, seeing her long white hair blowing behind her with the wind picking up both their speeds.
Before they knew it, however, they were both in the Globe Room, with Crystal doing a little victory dance. "I win!" She exclaimed, making everyone in the room laugh while Jack leaned against his knees, acting winded.
"You're pretty fast there, kiddo," He stated. He could hear Bunny laughing the hardest out of them all. He's lucky I'm in a good mood, He thought with a smile before standing up straight and looking at the smiling face of his daughter. I really need to tell her the truth of who I am.
"I always have been," Crystal said with a smile. "Now I'm starting to think it could be the wind that helps me with that."
"Oh, it is," Jack answered as he looked at North, who nodded his head, his way of saying 'tell her'. So the Winter Spirit took a deep breath and went to say something, when an alarm sounded in the air. Crystal yelped at the sudden noise before looking over at the Globe, seeing that Burgess was turning black. Her mind went straight to one person.
"Jamie," She spoke under her breath with worry. Jack seemed to have heard her though, making him look at her. He had feeling she liked him in that way.
"Uh, what's happening?!" Faith asked with fear in her voice.
"Burgess is turning black there," Oriana said. "Could yer brother be up to something no good?"
"He's trapped underground! I doubt it!" Malvado exclaimed. "But then again...maybe Blanca recruited him?"
"If so, then we have an even bigger problem at hand," Crystal spoke up, making everyone look at her with surprise. "Burgess is my hometown, where I grew up from when I was 3. If it falls under both Blanca and Pitch's hand, then all my friends, what I grew up with, will be gone." She looked at her new team-mates and smirked. "You Seasonal Spirits ready for our first battle?"
Malvado smirked as well. It almost looked like Pitch's, but instead of dark intentions you could see the good in her eyes. "I'm in."
"We're a team now! Of course I'm ready!" Faith yelled with excitement.
"Ready," Oriana spoke as she looked at Jack. "We have yer back." This made Jack grin at her and mouth a 'thank you' to her out of gratitude.
"Then let's go!"
OOOOOOO
Blanca let some black ice sculptures appear in the empty clearing of the woods, while Pitch hid behind a tree as he watched. He was intrigued by Blanca Storm and her magic. He knew it from many years ago. Now in 2019, it seemed to have grown stronger, even though she was frozen in time for 12 years.
"Do you think this trap will work?" Another female voice asked, before showing herself from around a tree near Blanca. She had short, chopped black hair and red eyes like Blanca. She wore a black and red dress with black flats and a dark, deep red lipstick was painted onto her lips. There were even two sets of big, black dragon like horns on her head. Pitch didn't need clarification on who this girl was. He already knew.
"Lust?" He asked quietly.
"Of course it should work!" Blanca yelled as she made a little throne and sat down. "Once that little brat, Crystal and her chosen three show up...they'll be goners."
"I hope you're right," Lust began, "because if you aren't, then we'll have problems."
"Be patient, hon," Blanca stated with a smirk. "It'll work."
Pitch had heard enough of this. Hoping that Jamie would come if they needed help, he disappeared in the shadows.
"Blanca!" A voice spoke up, making the female duo look over to see Crystal with her chosen three by her side, standing there. "Leave Burgess alone!"
"Oh, perfect timing!" Blanca declared with a smirk.
"What are ye doing to Burgess, ye wicked old witch?!" Oriana yelled with venom in her voice and eyes.
"Oh, nothing," Blanca said, the smirk now showing in her evil eyes. "It's just,"
"Just what?" Faith asked as she stepped forward a bit.
"Princess Crystal has just fallen for my trap." And with that, she flicked her wrist, making each and every black ice sculpture explode into pieces. A green mist shot through the air and went straight to Crystal. Even some shadows from Lust's magic appeared.
"Oh crap," She said as the others dodged out of the way quickly, before rushing into battle. However, the mist was getting closer and closer to Crystal before a beam of light shot through the air and dissolved it instantly, making Blanca stand up in shock.
"What the...?!"
"Surprise!" A male voice spoke, as another beam shot at Blanca, hitting her and sending her through the throne and hitting a tree as she fell down.
"Blanca!" Lust called as she raced up to her and helped her stand up. They both looked and saw Jamie standing in front of Crystal all of a sudden, with the young female excited to see him.
"Jamie!"
"What?!" Blanca exclaimed with surprise, before gesturing for Lust to get to fighting. The demon obeyed. "What is this nonsense?!"
"What nonsense?" Jamie asked with a smirk. "I'm just showing my light." With that, he shot another beam of light from the palm of his hand at Blanca, who blocked it with a black ice shield in front of her.
"Whoa!" Crystal exclaimed with surprise of her own. "When did this happen?"
"Earlier tonight," Jamie began, "I guess you could say I'm the fifth member of your team now." Crystal smiled with excitement. Even in this messed up new life of hers, she still had an old friend from her childhood staying by her side.
"Don't think it's over, you two!" Blanca yelled with venom as she shot a piece of black ice towards Jamie. Thankfully, Crystal ran in front of him and took the hit. Thankfully, it was only a nip on her arm and nothing major.
The young teen grabbed her arm after the hit but didn't show pain or anything really, just anger. Crystal should have known this was a trap at the start to get rid of her. She should have saw it coming. Which is why she was so angry now. She was smarter than this.
A blizzard started to form around her and Jamie, showing that her emotions were getting the best of her, before icicles popped up on either side of her. This caused Oriana, Faith, and Malvado to stop their fight as the shadows had died down (since Lust had retreated at this point), and looked over at the Winter Princess.
Crystal's hair was blowing all over the place as Blanca took a few steps back out of surprise and fear. "What's going on?!" She yelled, right as Crystal shot out her hands, making more icicles form down in a straight line, kind of like an airplane strip.
The icicles grew and grew until they got to Blanca, forming a circle around her at her feet. The dark princess looked around with fear before looking back at Crystal. Her blizzard had finally calmed down, as she smirked and stomped her foot, making a giant snowflake appear under her feet...but also under Blanca's feet, making the blizzard start up again, but only around the wicked woman.
Jamie shot a beam of light towards the blizzard around Blanca, and it hit dead on one of the icicles, giving them electrical currents and static was now shooting at Blanca. She screamed and yelled out in pain as the power of the two hit her, making her fall to the ground with staggered breathing. She looked up at them all, venom in her eyes as black snow and ice found it's way around her.
"Watch your back, Princess!" She yelled before disappearing, and making the magic of both Jamie and Crystal die out.
"Wow," Oriana stated as she walked up to them with the others. "That was some powerful stuff there!"
"I'm not surprised," Malvado began, "she is Queen Iris' daughter."
"Who are you?" Faith asked as she finally spoke Jamie, making the others, even Crystal look at him. But she already knew who Jamie was.
"I'm Jamie Bennett," He began, smiling as he looked over and into Crystal's eyes, "Spirit of Light."
END OF EPISODE 2
Quick little note. I will be skipping next Sunday on the update to this story, mainly because I have to work and it's also Mother's Day next Sunday. I won't be anywhere near my computer to update this story since I'll be spending it with my mom once I get off work. Therefore, I will be skipping next Sunday and posting the Sunday after that. This way, it also gives me a way to come up with what Chapter/Episode 3 will be mainly about (Writer's Block sucks).
If any of you have ideas for what could happen please, let me know, because any ideas I do have are for later down the line. The start of the "show" is what stumps me most of the time. So I like hearing ideas from others, gets my creative juices flowing.
Anyway, thanks for reading, God bless, and see you in two weeks for this story. Others might get updated throughout the week. Key word: MIGHT (lol).
Happy Mother's Day to all those mom's out there!
Au avoir!
