Hi Everyone,
I am glad you all seemed to like the first chapter, that makes me really happy!
I have soooo many ideas and directions I could take this story in. So it may sometimes be a while between chapter updates as I think it all over. I also don't always proofread properly, just skim through it. So if you notice anything that seems off, or doesn't make sense. Please let me know! 3
- Snowleopard3564
Bakugou stormed through the door into the confines of his dorm room, yelling profanities as he slammed it closed behind him.
He couldn't believe he wasted that opportunity. There she was laying on the roof not ten meters away from him. Yet he didn't do shit. He had the chance to interrogate her. So why did he decide to just stand there and watch like some peeking tom?
"FUCK!"
"Oi Bakugou!" Kirishima banged on the door.
"Fuck off!" He snarled through the wooden barrier.
"Aww c' mon man, Todoroki is here too." He called back, and Bakugou could tell from the sound of his voice he was pulling a pouty face.
"You have a serious screw loose if you think I'm letting icy hot in here!"
"We wanna discuss what Aizawa spoke about earlier."
Bakugou had to fight the urge to tell them to shove it, he didn't want that bastard in his room, but he did want to find out why this girl had Aizawa on edge.
A moment passed in silence. Kirishima looked at Bakugou with a more focused expression than usual. Todoroki tried to appear just as stoic as ever, but it was obvious he was interested in this as well.
They were just as curious as him.
"Tch. Fucking FINE." He turned away from the door and walked into his room, and the other two followed as he flopped onto his bed with a groan as the door click shut behind them.
Kirishima stepped into the room with a big grin before claiming his desk chair as a seat and Todoroki remained standing, leaning his back against the door.
A few moments passed in silence, and Bakugou was beginning to regret even letting them in. Damn his curiosity.
Kirishima cleared his throat as he stared at the floor. "So, its right to assume we are all a little bit curious about this...situation." He looked up at Bakugou who lay on his back staring up at the ceiling with a grunt. The blonde had no intentions of talking about his thoughts on the matter.
His eyes shifted to where Todoroki leaned against the door, arms folded across his chest. "What do you think Todoroki."
Another moment went by in silence until he gave Kirishima a thoughtful look. "I believe she is one that has caused trouble somehow. She is here to either be protected or because she is believed to be dangerous. Didn't you notice how Aizawa went on edge when she snapped at him? He kept moving his hand up to his broken arm, almost protectively."
Kirishima nodded. "Yeah, I did notice that. I have never seen Aizawa seem scared."
"Tch, you fucking morons!" Bakugou bolted up from his spot. "He wasn't scared, he was simply preparing. It's obvious that she was the cause of those injuries. I could see it in his eyes. Whether she did it to him herself, I don't care, but he was obviously preparing for a fight."
"You think so?"
"Would I say it if it wasn't obvious shitty hair?"
"In any matter," Todoki spoke up. "We need to organise a roster for night duty. I was thinking maybe we do three to four-hour shifts."
"Tch, whatever. As long as I get the first shift." He said. That way he wouldn't lose any sleep, seeing as he stays up to study anyway.
"Alright, I don't mind what Shift I get." Kirishima grinned.
Todoroki frowned at Bakugou. He wasn't too happy about him making demands, but it was easier to just go with it rather than argue.
"Fine, Kirishima can do the midnight shift. Guess I'll do the early morning then."
"Fuckin fine. Now get out of my room?" Bakugou growled with raised palms, popping tiny explosions.
"Okay okay, calm down man." Kirishima waved his hands in surrender before turning to follow Todoroki out the door.
As soon as it clicked shut he slumped back onto his bed. 'Thank Fuck!' He released a heavy sigh as he lay down with all intentions of taking a nap until later.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"FUUUUUCK OFFFF!" He screamed and sent a pillow flying at the door with an explosion.
Asuko effortlessly wove in between tables and chairs through the dining room of class 1A's dorm building, balancing two boxes in front of her. Blasting Bring Me The Horizon in her ears as to try and cope with the anger welling violently from the pits in her gut.
Why the hell had those damned pro-heroes feel the need to try and 'help' her. Forcing her to go to UA? She'd rather go to Tartarus! Not to mention that idiot Eraserhead had the gall to think so little of her abilities. As if shit like that could disorient her sense of direction.
The chill of porcelain tiles seeped into the bare skin of her feet as they slapped against the floor with each step. She sucked in a deep breath, finding the cold soothing.
She was glad she was on the fifth floor. That way she got a good view, and it was further away from the common area so people wouldn't really bother her.
Lost in thought, she hadn't noticed the multiple pairs of eyes that focused on her the moment she stepped through the door. She was too pissed to realise anything.
"Mizuki-Chan!"
"Kya!" She dropped her boxes and reeled around, phasing to the other side of the room before Yaoyorozu even had a chance to react as she stumbled back into the wall with a yelp.
"Mizuki-chan are you okay?" Yaoyorozu appeared in front of her, holding out her hand.
Asuko looked up at the black haired girl with wide eyes. "Tch, I'm fine. Don't you know it's rude to sneak up on people!" She snarled, making the creation hero flinch as she ripped her earphones out, shoving the device into her pocket.
"S-sorry. I just wanted to ask if you needed any help with you're things!" She exclaimed, waving her hands in the air defensively.
She took in the girl's smile as they both remained still, her mind reeling in thought of what to do next. She looked at her outstretched hand and cringed. 'Fuckign Heroes'.
Something clicked in her mind and her eyes widened. That was it. If she could befriend them. If she could fool the teachers into thinking she was becoming more like them. Then they would let her go!
A grin broke across her face, almost sinister looking that made Yaoyorozu look concerned as she had to fight back the need to laugh at her idea.
Asuko noticed Yaoyorozu's face and forced her smile to deflate to appear more genuine.
"Oh well, then it's okay." She beamed up at the girl, who's eyes seemed to brighten up as she smiled back. She reached up to clasp Yaoyorozu's hand and felt herself pulled to a stand.
She walked towards where she dropped her boxes but stopped when she noticed they were no longer there. She glanced around, a frown forming on her face. Had someone taken them?
"Ah, Mizuki-chan!" She turned around to see a bubbly looking Brunette bouncing towards her. "It's lucky I was so close when you dropped everything. I used my quirk to save all your stuff from falling." \She pointed up, and Asuko's eyes moved up to see her boxes bouncing across the ceiling like a pair of balloons.
She held out her hand. "I'm Ochako Uraraka!" She beamed happily, and Asuko felt the urge to yell at her to give her stuff back. But managed to stop herself at the last second, remembering her plan.
"Nice to meet you Uraraka." They shook hands, and she looked up at her belongings. "Ummm."
"Oh! Sorry heh." Uraraka rubbed the back of her head, giving her a sheepish look. "I'll get them down for you."
'Damn right you will.'
She watched Uraraka press her fingertips together and mumble something along the lines of 'release' before everything fell towards and Asuko shot forward to catch them with ease.
"You have good reflexes Mizuki-chan." Yaoyorozu praised.
'Oh honey, if only you knew what those reflexes were for. Maybe I should show them what my skillset is for-' She shook her head at the thought. She can't be doing any of that here. It would seriously screw her over.
"Here." Uraraka touched her boxes, a pink glow appeared and then her boxes felt lightless again. "That way they're easier to carry."
"Uh, thanks I guess," Asuko mumbled, a little taken aback by the girl's eagerness to help. She was both confused and grateful. She would never admit it, but her boxes were starting to feel a little heavy.
"Is there anything else you need to bring in Mizuki-Chan?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Please just call me Asuko, I can't stand being called Mizuki-Chan." She deadpanned. "And no, this is it."
"Really, this is all you have?" The girls looked surprised.
"I don't have anything else." She replied curtly. That wasn't true though. She had plenty of things, plenty of money, plenty of clothes. Even a well-hidden apartment that she had worked hard to furnish and decorate to her liking. But those damned bastards took it all away from her, claiming all of it was 'confiscated because she couldn't have any association with that life anymore'. But it's not like she could go telling these people about that.
She sighed, at least they had the decency to let her keep all over her finances. So she would be able to go to the shops and get new stuff.
"Ehhhh! Really? What about a bed? Or even a pillow?" Yaoyorozu exclaimed, and Asuko was once again shocked at their concern. "What are you going to use to sleep on?"
She shrugged, "I was just going to use a sleeping bag."
"WHAT?" Uraraka bellowed.
"Oh no, no, no, no we can't have that." Yaoyorozu shook her head with a scowl. "C' mon." She grabbed one of the lightless boxes from Asuko's arms before she could say anything and turned towards the elevator.
"Hey, wha -,"
"I refuse to let a fellow classmate stay under this roof in such conditions." She said over her shoulder
Asuko paused. Feeling something well from deep within her and she cringed. It felt so strange and foreign that it made her uneasy.
'What the Hell!'
"What floor are you assigned to?"
"The fifth floor."
"Really?! That means we're neighbours!" She exclaimed and jumped about pumping a fist into the air. Asuko was a little surprised by the girl's bright demeanour towards a complete stranger, but she soon became completely horrified for Yaoyorozu's mental health when she reached out and grabbed her hands, pulling them to her chest. "Please feel free to come to my room whenever you want okay!" She beamed, her face only inches from Asuko's, who blushed a deep cherry red at the sudden proximity.
"Uhhh o-okay." She stammered, trying to pull her hands from the tall girls grasp.
"OI Kirishima!" Kaminari called out as he stepped out of the elevator, catching their attention as he strode towards the red-head sitting on the couch. "Can you help me with this homework?"
"Wha- I thought you were gonna ask Bakugou to help? He is the top ranking in the class."
"I was gonna, but as soon as I knocked on the door, he exploded a pillow at me and threatened to tear out all the feathers and stuff me with them," Kaminari pouted.
Uraraka snorted before bursting out into laughter.
"Oh, Kaminari." Another girl spoke. She had short purple hair and Earphone jacks hanging from her ears. "All he would be doing is help you become your true self. A chicken."
"Bahahahaha!" Uraraka lost it and fell to the ground, rolling in fits of laughter.
This caught her attention as the two students began to bicker with each other. Kaminari feigned hurt as he clasped his chest and Jirou started to destroy him further with insults.
Whoever this Bakugou guy was, he sounded interesting. Sounded like the type of person who liked to raise hell.
A sinister grin spread across her face before she could stop it and she had to fight back against the chuckle that threatened to escape her lips.
'Maybe I should say hello.'
"Who is this Bakugou?" She blurted and cursed herself for not being able to stop it. She groaned, knowing there was no escaping it and that now they'd have a reason to talk to her about things.
"Eh? Bakugou?" Yaoyorozu's eyes widened in surprise. It wasn't all the time people bothered with someone like Bakugou. He wasn't exactly the type of guy one usually tries to learn more about. "He uh -."
"He's the hothead of the class." Uraraka interrupted, having calmed down from her laughing and managed to catch her breath. "He is a prideful ass with a MAJOR superiority complex." She placed her hands on her hips and puffed out her chest for emphasis, drawing a giggle from Yaoyorozu.
"He isn't that bad." She corrected the brunette as they all stepped into the elevator. "He is prideful, yes, but once you earn his respect, its there forever."
"Oh please he's a jerk to everyone, and he never calls anyone by their name." She turned to Asuko. "You will surely come across him before the day is -."
"He calls you by yours." Yaoyorozu interrupted
Uraraka froze, eyes widening. "Well y-yeah, I guess he does." She rubbed the back of her neck, pink flooding her cheeks. "But that doesn't make him not a jerk." She snapped.
"He is the only one who has taken you seriously in a fight. He didn't care that you were a girl."
"He does that with everybody." The elevator doors slid open with the 'ding', and they all stepped out into the hallway of the fifth floor. The conversation grew from a casual back and forth to an all-out debate.
Asuko sighed, eyes shifting from one girl to the next as they bickered. He definitely seemed interesting to her. If he takes people seriously, maybe she could use him to burn off some steam.
"Y'know he defended you right?" Yaoyorozu snapped, and Asuko was brought back to the conversation by Uraraka's confused face as it morphed into shock.
"What do you mean." She asked.
"The boys were calling you fragile." She shrugged. "He piped up and said there was nothing fragile about you."
Silence passed as Uraraka contemplated the possibility that Bakugou could actually do something like that. Asuko watched an array of emotions pass across the brunettes face. Confusion. Embarrassment. Appreciation.
After another few moments, Asuko grew tired of the conversation and looked around, her eyes only then catching the wall-sized window on the other side of the small sitting room for this floor.
She stepped over towards the window, completely unnoticed by the other two and the moment she reached the window her breath caught in her throat. Beyond the window were rolling hills of green trees that reached out to the very borderline of UA's estate.
Nostalgia hit her like a tidal wave, and Asuko looked to the side, only to see green surrounding her from all sides. Her head lay on something soft but solid at the same time, and she brought her hand up to the back of her head, feeling a soft bed of grass acting as a pillow.
"Eh? Asuko?" Yaoyorozu called out, and Asuko snapped back to reality as she turned to see them watching her. "Is everything alright?"
"Y-yeah." She blinked in confusion. Was it a memory? A dream perhaps? She searched through that void in her mind, but she couldn't recall experiencing such a moment of, well, peace.
"Asuko?" Uraraka frowned in concern and reached out to grab her shoulder but Asuko's eyes widened, and she quickly pulled away. What was she doing? She couldn't sit here thinking about things like that! She had to figure out a way to get out of here.
She grit her teeth. "I'm fine." She growled as she turned away from the window, from them and walked towards the door to her new jail cell.
"A-Asuko-chan I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." Uraraka stammered, and Asuko's shoulders went rigid as she glanced over her shoulder at Uraraka. The brunette looking at the floor with a sad expression all over her face.
Why was she apologising? She didn't do shit. Goddamnit, now look at her.
"I said to stop using chan at the end of my name didn't I!" She snapped and reeled around to the girl with a scowl. "And stop looking like such a crybaby. You were just bickering about how everyone thinks your fragile all the time. So stop giving them a reason to."
With that, she turned back towards her room and called over her shoulder. "Are you two gonna help me or what?"
Yaoyorozu and Uraraka shared a glance with each other, smiles spreading across their faces as they stepped towards Asuko's room.
The girls shuffled through the door before placing the two boxes on the small desk provided by the school.
Asuko spun on the spot, taking in the room with a scowl. It was a lot smaller than her old apartment had been. At least it came with the essentials, a bed, mini fridge, toilet, balcony, even air conditioning.
Now she just had to resupply herself with all the crap they took away from her. If the situation were different and someone stole her stuff, she would just take her crap back, probably mess the person up in the process. But that wouldn't happen in any other situation, every villain knew who she is, and knew that bothering her wasn't worth the hell they would have to pay later.
She had almost forgotten Yaoyorozu and Uraraka were there until the former spoke. "Wooooww Asuko what is this?"
She turned around to see the girls holding up a black fabric, and her eyes widened, taking in the now opened box on the floor.
Without thinking she quickly snatched the item from their hands and shoved it back into the box. Both girls flinched, and Uraraka stammered, "S-sorry, we didn't mean to upset you."
Taking a deep breath, Asuko sighed. "It's fine, I just don't like people going through my things."
"O-oh, well sorry about that." Yaoyorozu rubbed the back of her head. "I guess we were just eager to help you settle in."
Asuko could feel her tolerance of the two girls beginning to waver. Anger and annoyance started to flare in her stomach, and she had to stop the scowl from appearing on her face.
She needed to get away from them before she lashed out even further.
"Sorry but I think I need some air." She brushed past the two girls and left the room before they had a chance to say anything.
They turned to each other with sad looks before looking around the room. Uraraka glanced to her friend again, the tall girl looked around the room eagerly. Something sparked in her eyes, and she quickly turned to face Uraraka, determination written all over her face. She knew instantly what that look was, and gave her a soft nod.
3 hours later:
Asuko spun around in the air, bringing her foot down against the tree trunk with a heavy thud and she winced at the jolt of pain from the impact as it travelled up her leg.
But she kept going anyway. Mercilessly attacking the tree with punches and kicks, flipping in the air with dangerous speed. She hadn't even used her quirk yet. She hardly ever did. It took a lot to make Asuko use her quirk when she was in a real fight. In her opinion, the less people knew about it, the better.
She kicked the tree again, this time using its weight to push herself away, doing a flip in the air and landing on her feet a few meters away.
She had been at it for hours now. The anger and frustration she felt just wouldn't go away. Those damned heroes for ruining her life as she knew it. The damned school for forcing her into this situation. Those damned girls. They were so kind, and she couldn't figure out why. She had given them no reason to act like that, no reason to even talk to her. Yet they jumped at the opportunity to speak to her, also going as far as forcing themselves upon her by taking her stuff and carrying it upstairs. All of it completely threw her off, confused her, made her uncertain of certain things deep down, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was, and that made her angry.
So she resorted to bashing a poor tree. Punching until her knuckles turned bloody and her joints ached from the impact. But she kept at it until the wood began to groan in protest of her abuse, and then kept at it some more.
Minutes flew by, or maybe it was hours, Asuko didn't know. All she knew was that it was late. The sun was setting rapidly, and it was beginning to get cold.
"Tch, I'll be fine." She mumbled to herself.
"Oi! The fuck are you doing here?" She jumped in shock and quickly spun around with a kick towards whoever barked at her. But her foot never made contact with the intended spot. She blinked up at her foot and the hand that kept a grip on it tightly.
Her eyes drifted across to the face mere inches from her foot, still being held in the air. Firey crimson stared back at her, reflecting anger she believed to be much like her own.
'So this must be Bakugou.'
She glared up at him. He was tall, had ash-blonde hair spiking all over the place, accentuated by his red eyes, and she couldn't help but notice how muscular he was for their age. His skin was clean and almost spotless. He clearly took pride in his appearance.
"Tch, I said what the fuck are you doing here?" He snarled, and Asuko winced slightly at the burst of heat that suddenly spread from where he held her.
She hid the pain almost immediately, standing straight on one leg and cleared her throat. "What does it look like? I am training."
"Tch I can see that you idiot!" He barked. "Why are you training in my training spot?"
She raised her eyebrows, anger swelling inside her. Who the hell did he think he is? "Tch and who said this was your training field?" She made a show to look around then shrugged. "I don't see a name on it?"
He clicked his tongue, the heat on her foot intensifying and she could feel the burn spreading across her skin. "Get the fuck out of here."
"I would if I could." She grit her teeth in frustration, wanting nothing more than to punch him in the face. "But unfortunately your 'heroes' seem deadset on keeping me locked up like a prisoner!" She spat at him.
The two of them paused, and her eyes slowly widened in realisation of what she just said.
A sadistic smirk grew on his face, and he leaned forward and gripped her collar with his other hand. Smoke instantly billowed from the fabric as it burned from his touch, and the tendrils snaking up her nose sent her into a small coughing fit. "Let's talk about that shall we?" His voice was low and almost dangerous. "I don't usually care about other people, but when they start interfering with my personal life, it pisses me off to no end."
"What are you trying to say? I stole your hairbrush without asking?" She grinned sarcastically. "Sorry princess, but I had to, I don't even own a hairbrush at this point in time."
He scowled. His eyes turning almost livid and his grip tightened on her shirt. "Tch. I'm talking about that bastard Aizawa!" He snarled, and her eyes widened. "That idiot put up to the task of keeping an eye on you." He pulled her closer, so his face was only inches from hers. "I want to know why."
Panic surged within her. That was enough.
Before he could continue she quickly twisted in his grip, pulled her leg firmly and planted her feet firmly on the ground before she grabbed the hand gripping her collar. She spun around, hooking his arm over her shoulder and heaved with a strength that shocked him as he flew over her shoulder and slammed hard into the ground.
She stood for a moment as he caught his breath. Then just stared down at him and huffed. His face instantly scrunched into a look of hatred as she stood over him.
She waited another moment and smirked. "In order to watch me, I guess you'll have to be able to find me."
His brows furrowed in confusion, but she didn't give him time to speak before she used her quirk. Feeling the familiar pull at her limbs as she phase jumped to the very top of a nearby tree.
She found a branch thick enough to bear her weight and sat down. She shuffled a bit, making sure she was secure before leaning against the main trunk of the tree.
A sudden boom sounded from where she previously stood, and she glanced down to see Bakugou go into a full rage. Explosions erupted everywhere as he demolished the clearing. It was a shame really that was a nice training ground.
'The girls weren't lying about him being a hot head.' She smirked, watching in amusement as he used his explosions to fly through the trees searching for her.
Asuko stepped out of the elevator doors and onto the fifth floor. She glanced out the large window and into the blackness that enveloped the world in darkness. She had watched that Bakugou guy rampage about for an hour or so, then she grew bored and decided she should probably head back to at least settle in to her prison.
Reaching her door, she inserted her key and it unlocked with a twist of her hand.
"Oof!" She paused and her eyes snapped upright at the door as if she could see through it. The realisation that someone was in her room dawned on her and she stepped to the side of the door.
Fear flooded her as she twisted the door know and thrust the door open, quickly hiding against the wall, waiting for someone to jump out or attack. But nothing happened.
She peered around the corner and scanned the room and her eyes instantly widened. She straightened up in the doorway and glanced from one side to the other, taking in the now fully furnished room, topped with electrical appliances of the highest quality. Even the bed had been replaced.
She ran to the bathroom and saw it was filled with plush towels and good quality hair and skin products. The bed had been changed from a single to a double, fitted with green sheets that brightened up the entire room and there was a laptop and tv placed neatly on the desk. There was even a Hammock set up on the balcony.
She heard a thud coming from the closet and paused again. With a frown she stepped towards it, her hand grasped the doorknob and she yanked it open.
"Gyahhh!" Uraraka shouted in sudden panic as she fell flat on her face.
"What are you doing?" She asked with a flat expression.
"Geez Uraraka, I told you to be quiet." Yaoyorozu snapped with a frown, then relaxed with a heavy sigh. Her frown shifting to a look of disappointment. "I wanted to see her reaction." She pouted.
"What?" Asuko looked around. "What are you guys doing?"
"I told you I refuse to let a fellow classmate live in such conditions." Yaoyorozu looked at her, a gently smile gracing her face.
Asuko noticed Uraraka was still laying on the ground and quickly bent over to help her up.
"Thanks." She mumbled.
"How did you- ." Asuko began, but was interrupted.
"It's all thanks to Yao's quirk!" Uraraka cheered and pat Yaoyorozu hard on the back. The girl cringed at the impact and rubbed her shoulder.
"I told you." Yaoyorozu smiled. "You are my neighbour. Come to me for anything."
Something warm and bubbly burst in Asuko's gut, filling her core. She had no idea what the feeling was, and it terrified her, but it made her feel kind of, happy.
For the first time since she arrived at UA, a smile spread across her face, a real smile. "Thanks so much!"
The two girls looked at her, shock on their faces before being replaced with their own smiles. "No problem!" They said in unison, drawing a giggle from Asuko.
