Chapter Two: What Has Been Hidden Shall Come To Light
Remi's P.O.V.

5:45 AM- Ukitake Residence- Remi's room
My phone alarm is ringing, I just pushed the snooze button, and I laid in bed for a few minutes. I was raised by my papa and his lover Kuchiki Byakuya. Ironic isn't it "uncle" is my taicho. I know my grandfather had something to do with me being in his division just like how "uncle" had something to do with his sister being in papa's division. I swear a couple of overprotective roosters if I ever met any. Oye!
Fifteen minutes later, my phone alarm and my alarm clock started to ring breaking into my thoughts. I sat up and stretch and yawned when I heard "uncle" grumble about alarms and pesty bratty nieces. I heard Papa chuckle. I turned off my alarms and headed for the bathroom before they used all the hot water. I know I need to find me my own place soon because according to "uncle" it is unseemly for me to be living with papa. I didn't answer because I had my reasons for not moving out.
I took a shower and in a deep thought about how everyone in my life thought I didn't know who my father was. I was seven when I found my mother's trunk, where it stored my parent's wedding picture and my birth certificate and my baptism certificate. I would often hang out with my best friend Izuru Kira, my fukutaicho and close friends Abarai Renji, and Hisagi Shuhei during lunches or whenever they went to the bars to drink just to spend my time with my father. I saw just how he would glare at anyone who would look at me crossed-eye or even in a romantic. I notice Ikkaku doing the exact same thing. I would chuckle which would draw all eyes to me. I would just give my father and godfather a rather pointed look. I would just smile when they would look away. Izuru, Abarai, Hisagi would just chuckle and Hisagi would pull me on his lap and kiss my temple. I was quite aware Hisagi and my father had been dating for seven years and been living together for three.
Sighs.
I shut off the water, dried off, and dressed in my uniform and brushed out my knee-length hair. I decided to just let it hang loosely today. I came out of the bathroom and patted quietly to the breakfast room where I found tea and my usual toast and honey waiting for me as was Papa and "Uncle" Byakuya. I gave them both a mischievous smile as I sat down to eat my breakfast and drink my tea.
"You are a wicked young woman, Mochi," Byakuya grumbles under his breath while Papa watched quietly.
"Yes, yes, I know, bad little dragon. I suppose you are going to put me through my paces and laden me with half of Abarai Renji fukutaicho's paperwork and my own and make me scrub all the men bathroom's or send me to the Eleventh as my punishment for waking you up this morning."
Byakuya only glared in reply.
"I swear you do this on purpose or do you enjoy getting a rise out of me before the workday?"
I leaned over and kissed his cheek before looking at Papa who was smiling at us.
"No, Bya-chan, it's her way of making you loosen up whenever you are off the clock. And because she loves you as much as she does me."
"I know, she does and I love my spoiled brat of a niece. " Byakuya said smiling.
I finished off my tea and toast. I kissed Papa good-bye knowing full well it was "Uncle" Byakuya's day off. I could drive Renji crazy, but I knew I would get so much scoldings if I did especially from Papa.
The day went by, fairly slow considering I had to glare at my fukutaicho and close friend who had tried to sneak off several times and I ended up threatening him with "I'll tell taicho if you leave fukutaicho". I groaned inwardly and practically ran out the door when the long, long day was over.
I was a bit surprised when I got home to find Papa gone well not surprised. I knew where he was and it didn't bother me one bit. I showered and slipped into a plain black kimono for the night. I was lounging on the floor when I heard the alert go off. I grabbed Asuka and ran out the door.
I got to scene and saw it was the Eleventh Division battling a horde of Hallows. I just jumped in without thinking about it. Kenpachi-taicho watch as I took out three Hallows with two swings from Asuka and I tackled a third who tried sneaking up on my father unawares.
The battle would have been over but a high-level Hallow made an appearance and it even took down Kenpachi-taicho. I raised Asuka said called out,
"Okiro Asuka"
The once blue sky turned black with lightning firing off as a midnight blue-black dragon appeared beside me and together we faced the Hallow. With every slash and crash I fought hard against an enemy who was strong then I, but I didn't back down because I knew Asuka and I can beat this piece of shit.
I didn't sense the presence of its mate until I felt claws piercing my skin and I'm coughing up blood. At that moment, I heard Chire Senbonzukura and I was caught by my father who looked like his heart had been torn out. I touched his cheek,
"It'll be okay, daddy."
I blacked out soon after.
I woke up a few days later, in my room at Papas with Isane hovering over nearby. I saw her go to the door and call for Papa and my father. I smiled at them as they came in.
"Remi, how long have you known Yumichika was your father because we can't figure it out," Papa asked in a soft voice.
I shrugged my left shoulder and muttered, "I found mom's trunk with their wedding picture in it among other things. I just have one question, why didn't either of you told me the truth. I'm not angry just curious."
Papa and my father just exchanged a look with each other and they both looked at me.
"I was a coward and I was mourning your mother that I gave you to the one person who I knew would love you like his own and I watched you blossom into the young woman you are today and I am so proud of you, my girl."
I smiled at my father who beamed brightly at me.
"I just have one request for both of you?"
Papa and my father nodded for me to continue
"Just don't hide things from me anymore. I'm a big girl so just tell me the truth."
Papa and my father both nodded.
My father lifted me up blankets and all took me to meet his division who were all outside the house. I saw "Uncle" Byakuya glaring at them.
My father then introduced me to his division,
"Boys, this is my daughter Ukitake Remi and no one is allowed to mess with her or you'll answer to me."
The boys cheered as I hid my face in his shoulder and laughed.
