FLOWERS
Gohan, Erasa and I start getting closer to the movie theaters. This time, Gohan is in the middle, between Erasa and me. We mentioned things about past events, but we haven't started a conversation yet. For some reason, he's been trying to... avoid me. He has never been that way before. I felt we were closer than anybody else, but I guess that's not really the case.
We were now standing in front of the movie theaters. We already knew what we wanted to watch, but we didn't want to buy the tickets yet because we wanted to wait for the rest of our friends.
"I should call Sharpner and see where they are"
Erasa takes her cellphone and calls Sharpener. When she does, she looks for the closest bench to sit down and chat. It was only Gohan and I alone now.
"So" I start. "How's your family? I haven't seen them in a while."
He looks everywhere else but me. I stare at him while he tries to answer my question.
"They're doing great. Thank you. How's your father?"
"Well, you know, he's still the same old, proud Hercule."
I smile. He laughs but continues avoiding me. He may be embarrass for what happened earlier. I'm not sure if he knows about my feelings. What if he knows and was afraid of making me feel bad? I hope he doesn't know, but I can't think of another reason for him to act that strange. I try to act as normal as I always do. I adore that guy, and I don't want to make things awkward between us.
Erasa stars walking towards us. She mentions that Sharpner and the other two friends met the rest of our other friends in one of the stores and that they were coming to the theater.
"They should be here in about 10 minutes." Erasa turns off her phone and puts the flowers Gohan gave her in her BIG purse.
I look at them for a minute. What if...
"Hey everybody! Sorry we took so long"
"Yes, Sharpner you took longer that you mentioned!"
Suddenly I discovered the 10 minutes passed right before my eyes without even noticing. I was so into my thoughts.
"Let's go get our tickets!" mentions Gohan while getting money from his wallet.
We all get our tickets, although Sharpner paid for all the girls. We walk inside the movie theaters and start wondering what to do before getting into ours sits.
"Are you guys going to get something?" Asks Erasa.
Gohan walks close to her and answers her question by saying yes. They turn around and look at the rest of our friends, and everyone else gets into the line to buy some popcorn or something else. I'm not sure.
Erasa grabs Gohan's arm and they both start walking to the line of people waiting for service. I don't know what to think about. I prefer to walk back and observe the posters of all the movies that the theater is showing.
"Videl, are you okay? Do you want something?"
Sharpner notices my isolation and decides to ask me how I'm feeling. I look at him for a moment and then I look back where Gohan and Erasa are located. "I'm... okay.." My last words sounded like I wanted to hide them instead of speaking them. Sharpner looks back where I was staring, and then back to me like he knew what was going on.
"Uh.. Erasa mentioned something about some flowers in her purse. What was she talking about?"
I looked at him for a moment and then back to Erasa and Gohan. "Gohan gave Erasa some beautiful flowers." I start looking back to the posters again.
"What?!" He almost yelled. "For Erasa?"
"Yes." I answer.
He started to look stressed out for a reason that I couldn't understand. He couldn't stop touching his forehead and staring back at Erasa and Gohan like I did seconds ago.
"I really thought that you guys... dammit!" He tried not to yell but some people around us were able to hear his last word pretty well.
"What... What do you mean? Is everything okay, Sharpner?" His reaction definitely surprised me.
"Uh! Nothing. Let's go be the first to save our sits." He seems nervous, but better than before. He grabs my arm and we both look for the right sits.
It's been nine minutes since the movie started but luckily they have been playing the previews. Sharpner and I sit down together, both forgetting to save more sits for the rest of our friends. I think we both are in shock. I am sure that his reaction was the reflection of his real feelings for Erasa. We both have to calm down and relax. Now I want to try to act normal, like I have been saying the rest of the evening.
Three minutes later, everybody else appears. Seems like Gohan and Erasa wanted to sit down close to where Sharpner and I were, but the others were faster than they were and won. For that same reason they sat six sits away from us, but still on the same row. I looked at them and laugh at them for having to go that far. Erasa and Gohan laughed, and said they'll be throwing popcorn at us from their sits.
The movie starts. While we watch it I notice Sharpner falls asleep. The movie is an animated, romantic comedy. The romance was probably boring for him, I guess. I suddenly receive the popcorn Erasa was talking about. I turn around, wanting to throw some to her but I forgot I didn't buy any. I tell them, silently, that she's going to get it later. We will definitely talk about something tonight. I look at Gohan, and he's also looking at me. Finally.
The movie ends. We all run to the nearest bathroom. Then, we all go outside from the movie theater, and start discussing where to go next. I was still next to Sharpener, and Gohan and Erasa are still together. I prefer to maintain myself a little far from them. Erasa should know what's going on with me. She should.
"Okay then!" Starts Sharpner. "We should be going to the Golden Cue."
I have never been there, but I heard that place has video games, pools, and other entertaining stuff. I don't really want to go. I just want to go home, and exercise. I haven't done that in a long time.
"We will be going home. See you at school" mentions one of our friends.
"Okay, guys, see ya!" Yells Erasa while waving at them.
"Well, then, Erasa and the others, let's go. We will meet you there Gohan, unless you don't want to go because it's too late and your mommy will get mad at you."
Now that was rude. I guess he's REALLY mad.
"No, I'll be there." Gohan replays with that big smile on his face, like he never heard Sharpner's last words. Then he turns to look at me and then Erasa, and he mentions, "I brought my own car today. Any of you want to join me?"
I was going to say no, but Erasa came to me, grabbed my hand, and yelled yes.
"What? I know the other two are coming with me, but Erasa, you came with me earlier. Leave Videl and Gohan alone." Sharpner was definitely worried.
"I..." I try to say something, but Erasa always speaks before I do.
"Sharpner, honey, I didn't forget about you. I'll just ride with them for four miles. You will be taking me home and I'll drive like I did earlier today." Erasa winks at him and then grabs Gohan's arm and we all start walking to the parking lot.
I turn around and I see a really mad Sharpner not listening to what their other two friends were saying. His car was located in another direction, so they walked away from us for that same reason. While we were walking, I try to make conversation. "Gohan, since when did you buy a car?"
Gohan, finally looking at me, responds. "One week ago. Bulma informed me that she was selling some cars from last year. She mentioned they were very ship since that was the last model they were going to sale and they wanted to create a new model, and in order to create the new models they have to get rid of the old ones. And she also gave me a discount." He starts laughing.
"Are you talking about Bulma Brief?" Erasa asks Gohan a little bit surprised.
"Yes, my father and Bulma have been friends since they were adolescents."
"Wow, there's always something new to learn from you Gohan. I can't believe you're friends with one of the most recognizable persons in West City. You're always so mysterious."
Gohan starts to laugh again. Then he reach his pocket and gets some keys. I'm trying to guess what his car was, but it was easy to guess since the car had a Capsule Corporation logo in the back.
"Is that your car?!" I run to the car and start wandering through the windows. "It's beautiful Gohan!" I notice there's something inside the car. It seems, it's, I think it is... "What is that?"
Gohan opens one of the doors, and grabs what I believe is, a BIG stuffed animal from the back sit. I stare at him, surprised! Turn at Erasa, who for some reason took a photographic camera out from her purse.
"Videl..." Gohan mentions my name. He just mentioned my name! My heart beats faster than it did before.
Gohan was now standing in front of me. I was still paralyzed. The stuffed animal had a heart in the middle. I pay attention to the heart and notice there was something written in Gohan's hand writing. I just can't, I just can't believe it.
