Hey guys! I decided to keep going with this story instead of putting it up for adoption! Yay! I looked back at all of my stories and realized how utterly terrible they were. Now, about a year later, I'm pumped up and ready to go! So, here's a short chapter!

9 POV

Back at the house, Angel sat on the arm of the couch, me and 3 on the cushions. My younger sister was curled into a ball, resting while we waited for the results. Max came down the hallway and I looked at her hopefully.

"She is asleep now, but you can check on her if you want." Angel leapt up, dragging me with her.

"Thanks, Max!" She squealed. We rushed through the long corridor of rooms and into the "Nurse's Office" of our large house. We were all working together to finish up the expansions. Phoenix was already in there, sitting in one of the two heavily cushioned, blue chairs.

"How is she?" I put a hand on her shoulder and she looked at me.

"She's gotten a lot better since yesterday. Max says she'll be awake any time today." Jay had been a team member for quite some time. Maybe a month after Max found us, we'd discovered her while goofing off in a forest by Dr. Martinez's place. She was a like able person whom we all respected. When she was happy, we all were. When she was sad, a cloud of misery surrounded everyone.

"Where's Blaze?" Angel asked.

"She went out to hunt, said she needed some air." Blaze and Jay had been together in School 42, where they were created and raised. They'd always been close. It hit her the hardest when Jay was hurt. During the explosion, she'd shattered four ribs, punctured a lung, and gotten a major concussion. It had been roughly two weeks since the mission. We'd all been scared she wasn't gonna wake up. However, due to our fast healing and Jay's healing powers, her ribs and lung had actually fixed themselves up without a lot of medicine. She was breathing on her own now, which was amazing.

"I'm going to go look for her, then. She might blow something up." Angel waved goodbye and left, leaving me a Phoenix alone.

"Hey, you guys want some lunch?" I heard Iggy call from the kitchen. I looked at Phoenix.

"Hell yes!" She exclaimed, rushing out of the room. I sat in the chair where my 'sister' had been and took Phoenix's hand.

"Okay Nix. You need to wake up, okay? We need you out here. Okay?" I told her firmly. Nothing happened. "Phoenix. You have to wake up!" I told her. "Everybody misses you. It's been two whole weeks." Still nothing. I gripped her shoulders and shook her firmly. Her emergency monitor screamed and Max rushed in.

"9! What did you do?" She yelled, ushering me out of the room.

"I just told her to wake up!" I replied as the door was slammed in my face. The rest of my team stood standing across the hallway from me, staring. I told them the same thing, but they refused to believe me. I packed a backpack with some money, food, water, and fresh clothes.

"Where are you going, mister?" Max walked up behind him as he was about to leave.

"I'll be back in a week. I'm going to look for a cure." He told her. "Bye mom." And shut the door behind him.
