Adrien POV:
I sit down on a bench that overlooks the field in front of the Eiffel Tower.
"Bonjour Monsieur."
A tall blonde woman walks over to me. She's pretty.
"Hello." I adjust my posture.
"Are you-you Adrien Agreste?" She fiddles with her hair.
"Yes." I nod my head. She reminds me of how Marinette used to act around me.
"Could I um, po-possibly get an autograph?" She hands me a piece of paper.
"Yes of course." I smile. This happens quite often. I'm always happy to do it.
"Um, I saw your photos in the newest edition of Vogue. They're really good. You look really good. Not that I'm like uh like stalking you or-or something." She rambles.
"Thank you." I smile.
"No problem, thank you so much." Her face lights up as I hand her the paper.
"No problem." We both giggle. I look up just in time to catch a glimpse of red flying by. "It was nice meeting you…"
"Andrea." She says.
"Nice meeting you Andrea but I've got to go," I say. I practically run away.
What if there's an Akuma?
Mari POV
I dry my hair out. I put on something nicer than what I was wearing earlier. I decide on a light blue polka dotted dress. I apply a heavy coat of concealer and a light dusting of blush. I quickly curl and coat my eyelashes. I check the time on my phone, 11:39.
I've got time. I snatch my sketchbook. Might as well work on the stupid fucking project.
I walk back down the stairs.
"Hey Maman, I'm just going for a walk." I walk by my mom and she hands me some iced coffee.
"Okay, Mari. By the way, Nathaniel called he said to meet at Le Katrina." She pats my wet hair down.
"I'll text him. Merci." I walk out of the door and dart into an alley. "Tikki spots on."
I run over the rooftops and find the spot I'm looking for. I land in the nook on the Eiffel Tower and pull out my book.
Adrien POV
"Plagg claws out!" I smile. I can't stop thinking about my Lady. Even if it's because of an Akuma. I'll always enjoy her company.
I use my baton to scale the tower.
There she is. She looks beautiful. She's focused on something. She places a cup down and scribbles something down. I watch her for a moment before announcing myself.
"Is something wrong?" I ask. She turns around.
"No, I've just got some time to kill." She responds. She shuts whatever she was working on.
"Are you okay?" I frown.
"I'm fine. Tired, you know from last night." She lies back.
"Me too. I'm sorry." I bite my lip.
"For what?" She rubs her eyes.
"I don't know." I sigh.
The silence grows. She just sits there. There's a strong amount of awkward tension in the air.
"Is something wrong?" I scowl and sit next down next to her. She isn't looking at me. I place a hand on her cheek.
"N-no." She stutters. I lean towards her and press my lips onto her forehead. She places her hand on the back of my neck and pulls my lips to hers. I'm the one to deepen it. I run my tongue along her lips, she lets me in.
There's a series of melodic dings. She pulls back and pulls her yo-yo out of her pocket.
"Shit! I'm late. I'm sorry I have to meet a friend for lunch." She waves and jumps off the beam.
"Wait-" I try to get something in but she's already gone.
Well, I have time. I might as well do some patrol.
Mari POV
I run to Le Katrina.
"Oh god, Nath I'm so damn sorry. I didn't mean to be late." I catch my breath.
"It's fine Mari I haven't been waiting long." He smiles. He gestures for me to sit. "I already ordered your favorite sandwich is that alright?"
"That sounds great!" I fold the back of my dress and sit down on the metal chair.
"Did you make that dress?" He starts the conversation.
"Yes. How does it look?" I gesture to it.
"Beautiful, you really do have talent. I'm excited to see the pieces that you'll make for the show." He bites his lip.
"Oh yeah. About that maybe you should come over to my house. We can work on our project." I nod.
"Yeah, our groups pretty good besides Lila." He frowns.
"Oh god. Don't remind me." I huff.
Adrien POV
I walk across my baton that's extended between two buildings. I catch a lock of blue hair in my peripheral vision. I follow it immediately until it leads me to my second favorite bluenette.
Mari.
She looks happy. She's cleaned herself up. She's wearing a pretty blue dress. My instincts tell me to follow her.
She sits down at a table with Nathaniel. Is that her secret boyfriend? I have to get closer. I sneak forward.
"Yeah no, you can come over to my house tomorrow. My parents won't be home." Marinette fidgets with the strap of her dress.
Nathaniel must be her secret boyfriend.
"I AM MEDUSA! I WILL TURN EVERYONE TO STONE!"
Shit!
Mari POV
"I AM MEDUSA! I WILL TURN EVERYONE TO STONE!"
Shit!
"Nathaniel we need to get to safety. Come on!" I grab Nathaniel's hand.
"Hey, Princess."
I turn around to see Chat. He seems unamused. He sneers at Nathaniel.
"Who's this." He hisses.
"That would be Nathaniel." I scowl.
"Kurtzberg." Nathaniel swallows hard as Chat sizes him up.
"Down Kitty." I step in between them. "Don't you have a job to do!" I scold and point to a stone person. He snaps back to himself and darts off. While Nath is distracted I run off and transform.
I swing down back to the cafe. Nathaniel is searching around calling my name.
"Listen Nathan- uh civilian your friend is fine! I need you to get inside." I land next to him and try to push him to the cafe's door.
"I'm not leaving my friend." He pushes against me.
"Look, I need you to trust me she's fine!" I look him in the eyes.
"But...fine." He gives up against my strength and enters the building.
"CHAT?" I call out. He doesn't answer. "Damn, where are you, Kitten?"
I pull my yo-yo off my hip and call him.
"Bugaboo. Listen the akuma's at L'arc de Triomphe. The butterfly's in her glasses." His voice sounds strained.
"Are you hurt Kitty?" I scream into the yo-yo.
There's no response.
"Kitty? CHAT?" I slam the yoyo shut and fling it to a nearby building.
I arrive at the landmark. No one's around.
"Chat?" I whisper. My voice is hoarse. The air is still. Cars are stopped. That's not what's wrong. It's protocol to get to shelter and out of the streets when an akuma's around. I see them. A cluster of stone statues. I run towards them.
Fuck fuck fuck.
I see him. He's frozen.
"Chat." My mouth drops. "No." I grind my teeth and hold back tears.
"LUCKY CHARM!" A mirror drops into my hands.
"Well well well, it's famous Ladybug."
I don't turn around. I've heard the story to many time. Don't look her in the eyes. I close my eyes and turn with the mirror.
"Do you think I'm dumb." The Akuma scoffs. I follow the sound of her voice with my ears. I hold the mirror in front of me.
"Not there either. Geez, this is like a game of Marco Polo. It brings me back to my childhood."
I follow her voice. There's no response, she must have frozen. I open my eyes.
"Oh, you thought…" The akumatized victim stands far from me. She's laughing hard. I can feel my feet freeze over. But now that my eyes are open I can see what needs to be done. My powers highlight a nearby building, my yo-yo and my mirror. I throw the mirror. It bounces off the building. As the victim is momentarily distracted I seize her with my yo-yo and yank her forward. She stumbles towards me and I yank the glasses off her forehead. I squish them in my palm. Like usual a black butterfly pours out.
"No more evil doing for you little Akuma! Time to de-evilize!" I yell and capture it in my yo-yo. A purified white butterfly flutters out. "Bye bye little butterfly! Miraculous Ladybug." I throw the mirror into the air.
As soon as the frozen feeling wears out of my legs I sprint over to wear Chat should be.
"Lady-" He starts. I slam into him and wrap my arms around his shoulders.
"You're such an idiot. Why didn't you wait for me?" I say into his shoulder.
"I'm sorry." He wraps his arms around me.
"We should go make sure the victim's okay." I pull away from him.
