(A/N: So hi again. It's been a while OTL I don't even have any excuses other than laziness. Additionally, I'm seriously debating on whether or not I should have Kuroko jump. No promises about the end of this multi-chapter fic. Haha…yeah, it's multi-chapter. Whoops. Disclaimer- I don't own Kuroko no Basuke or Sherlock.)

"It'd taken roughly two to three days for Kagami Taiga to fully move in to the new and spacious apartment he'd now begin to call home. He came to three stunning realizations: he had to get used to Kuroko's presence soon, he was the only one to ever use the kitchen for cooking purposes, and his pathetic excuse for a bilingual blog was wasting away with nothing to keep it from disappearing completely. Lately, he'd been occupied with moving into his new environment (which meant restocking the kitchen if he wanted to have decent meals at home) and finding a new job so that he'd have something that would serve its recreational purpose as well as a place to get money in order to pay rent. Luckily, Kuroko had told him that as long as he paid for groceries, he'd cover the full rent while Kagami was out looking for job.

Speaking of which, Kagami had only seen Kuroko working in the lab and had automatically assumed him to have a job that kept him in the field of science. He decided, once and for all, that a little research on his new roommate wouldn't hurt. Just as he pulled out his laptop and found Kuroko's website, his eyes widened in both shock and surprise, knowing that, while he hadn't know Kuroko for too long, any leads or theories Kagami had were false.

"If you wanted to know about me, you could've asked, Kagami-kun. This interests me a little, though…so tell me. What did you find about me?" The teal haired male sat himself down on the opposite facing chair, shifting until he found himself comfortable in the beige material. With his small frame, he seemed to be drowning in the much larger chair, causing quite an amusing sight for the much larger male. As if knowing what was so funny, Kuroko gave him a glare, threatening Kagami's life should he decide to continue his pointless teasing. It was too bad for the teal haired male, as Kagami the opportunity to tease him priceless.

Stifling his laughter with the back of his hand, the former PF shook his head, taking in deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself down. As he began to scan his eyes over the long list of accomplishments, the thought of him even needing a roommate was foreign. Where was all of his money going? It was apparent that there were high chances of it being a completely personal matter, and something that he should not involve himself in at all. Maybe later, when Kuroko trusted him more, he would ask. For now, he figured that silence was the best choice, even if it wasn't one of his strongest points. Additionally, Kagami would like to add that his loud mouth usually was not one to let him get away with anything, so the most "quiet" method of research was probably the best; there was no way he could sit quietly and just...

Eh? It seemed like Kuroko had a blog and a website? Shrugging, Kagami decided upon clicking both links, opening them in two separate windows for maximum organization and information gathering. At the top of the blog seemed to be a list of various achievements that Kuroko had decided to call special and use as blog decorations. Among the "hall of fame" were different offers from a multitude of fairly well-known basketball teams. "Kuroko! You play basketball? You didn't tell me that!"

Amused by the actions of the basketball idiot, the teal haired male shook his head. Of course Kagami would only notice the basketball related topics, compared to the larger awards coming from people much more important than some offers from scouts whose names he'd been tempted to delete from memory. For some reason, he'd held back on the clean-up, though he could never figure out why. "Watch your tenses, Kagami-kun. I played basketball until I graduated from college; I don't play anymore. Back then, it was only a hobby for me, so it was only natural that I stopped playing. It's more of a distraction now." He flexed the fingers of his right hand, practically imagining the feel of the orange ball in his hand as he carried the comfortable weight that had brought him so much happiness in the past and really only served as a reminder to what had happened in their last years of middle school. Kuroko shoved away his involuntary reflex to shiver at the memories.

Kagami's eyes softened as he watched his roommate's fingers curl around what seemed to be an invisible basketball, noticing the difference between Kuroko's words and actions. "One day- when you're not busy- we should hit the courts. If people from these schools were looking to scout you, you must've been good! Who'd you play for anyway?" He continued to scroll through the long list of names, briefly pausing a few times to click on the school's website to see their win-loss records, finding that they were all above average levels. To say he was impressed would definitely be an understatement.

"I played for Teikou during middle and high sc-…" Kuroko wasn't allowed to finish his sentence due to a rather loud outburst as Kagami jumped out of his seat (though he placed the laptop down gently on the table first), bounding over to Kuroko like an oversized puppy.

"You played for Teikou?" That school was (and is) legendary! They've never lost a single game no matter what sport and won every competition they entered in, even going so far as to beat teams of all levels to prove their worth. News of their amazing record with no losses spread throughout Asia and even reached America. There was a group of five basketball players, though, that rose above the rumors and earned their own title- The Generation of Miracles. It was impossible to not have heard of their name at least once- you could never forget them. They were like the deities of basketball, though he'd only been able to meet and play against four of the five legends. The fifth male- the captain- was said to be untouchable, having found victory as easy as breathing. There was a rumored sixth player, but Kagami couldn't remember ever playing him. Certainly he'd remember someone considered to be on the same level as the almighty group, right? Someone that the others acknowledged is no push over. "So what years did you play? Did you get to play with the Generation of Miracles?"

Kuroko sighed, leaning forward so that his elbows rested on his thighs as he linked the fingers of his two hands together, a small smile playing onto his face. "And what if I told you that I was in the same 'era' as the MiraGen?" He paused, enjoying the satisfaction that could be drawn from watching Kagami's excited (yet confused) features. "Saying 'Generation of Miracles' got tiring after a while (and it sounded really ridiculous), so Aomine-kun made the decision to shorten it after he almost butchered our name..." The tiger-like male before him grinned and Kuroko knew that meant to continue. "I was their…sixth man, so to speak. I didn't do much in middle school, since they were strong enough on their own and he decided that it wasn't worth putting me on court when they could easily handle the flow of the game on their own. During that time, I only went in when he thought that the other team needed to be taught a lesson or someone requested my presence on court. They didn't really need someone like me on court at the time, so I ended up being like another manager. It got a lot better in high school, though in college, I actually played a lot more."

"Someone like…you, huh," Kagami murmured, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried his best to break down the personal information he'd just been spoon-fed. Coming from someone as cryptic as Kuroko, it was no easy task, but he was determined to make the most out of what he had. "You mean your lack of presence? I guess I can see how that would make basketball harder, but-."

The detective shook his head, flicking Kagami on the forehead lightly. "I'll go with you to the basketball courts when we're done with this case to show you what I mean. For now, we're preoccupied with a case that Shintarou gave me." With a look of dread and a touch of hidden eagerness, the teal haired male flicked the briefcase open, reaching for the papers without a second thought. He scanned through the vital information, storing it in his memory for use at a moment's notice. When he was finished, he handed the papers to the taller male, gesturing for him to read through and give him a brief analysis. Of course, Kuroko knew he'd have to keep his standards low, since he wasn't talking to someone who had extensive practice with the art of deduction. "Tell me about this case and what you think is important. It's your first time, so don't worry too much, Kagami-kun.

Knowing that he was just going to get made fun of, Kagami rolled his eyes, exhaling a bit loudly. This was probably payback for earlier when he laughed at him while he was sitting in the huge chair. In his defense, Kuroko looked like a little kid and seeing him in a huge chair like that was hilarious. The proportions were too funny. Focusing on the paper, Kagami furrowed his eyebrows, leaning closer towards the information then farther away.

"I take it you've got no idea what's going on at all, correct? The first page was probably too much, wasn't it," Kuroko mumbled, assuming the answers to his questions instead of waiting for the redhead to answer them. It wasn't like there was any possible way he could wrap his mind around the case when they weren't even dealing with the complete information. Right now, they'd barely had anything to start with, anyway.

Kagami cleared his throat a little. "People screwed up

Well, any guess was better than no guess at all. "Yes, yes people did screw up a lot...and if we're lucky, we'll get to see the people that screwed up today. Usually, they're very busy, but I think they'll make time for us." Kuroko smiled just a little and that was when Kagami learned a valuable lesson

It was never good when he smiled

Kagami might as well have kissed his pride (and whatever else he had left) goodbye as soon as he stepped out of the cab as he was greeted by the sight of an abandoned mortuary whose iron gates were slowly losing their color to the sun. It was still daylight and he was pretty damn scared, since scary buildings meant scary stuff inside of them and scary abandoned buildings meant ghosts that were probably mad. Mad ghosts are very scary. Kagami doesn't want to go in. Kagami wants to say goodbye to Kuroko now. Bye-bye, Ku-.

"We just got here, Kagami-kun. It'd be rude to leave so soon, right?" He smiled again

The taller male turned white as the sheets he'd slept in last night. God, fuck his roommate and his creepy smiles already. He'd rather see no emotions than that cursed expression. This was probably goodbye to his nights of peaceful dreams. This negative thinking was probably the karma that caused his...unfortunate meeting with the police officers that would be helping the two with their investigation. What a small world, huh

The first police officer had messy, black hair and slanted eyes hidden from view by the reflection of his glasses. He was around the same height as Kagami, though his build was a little thinner than the redhead's. After all, he was a higher ranked officer, so it wasn't often that he was called out into the field. His smile came naturally as he recognized the pair in front of him, "Hey, hey, this is a bit unexpected, huh

"Hey, Taiga, it's been a few days, hasn't it

(A/N: Wow, ok. I'm not sure if I should be apologizing for the short update, the late chapter, the fact that I have no idea how to write the two characters I felt like adding in, or all of the above. Screw me. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you have an idea about who the police officers are. You can review this story and put who you think they are. That'd be fun. Haha. Congrats to four people for figuring out Moriarty. Sorry to the people who are/were actually waiting for me to update. I swear I'll update quicker now.)
