After a particularly tough few days Hopper is pretty close to hanging up his belt for good, until he remembers why he chose to join the force in the first place. Canon Divergent AU of S1, where Jim finds El before anyone else. And lands himself in a whole load of trouble. Dear Fanfic Readers
First off I want to thank Candy95, Lacymarie78 and snowzone5 for following this story, and Kitkat39612 for encouraging me to continue it via a lovely review. It's always really great to see people are reading what I'm putting out there, and getting as excited about the residents of Hawkins as I am. Aren't they all just precious cinnamon rolls? (Except for Brenner of course, Brenner can burn in hell)

Anyway I am currently working on plotting a sequel to Giving up the badge involving waaaay more Elopper! Which you might have seen via the change in description. However I am also going on holiday to Greece for a week and won't have access to constant wifi connection. Hope you'll be patient for the next instalment and who knows I might be able to whack out 2 chapters to compensate!
