Chapter II: One Million Bucks B.C.
[Narrator's POV]
Last time on Total Drama Action, when Owen's jaw was un-wire, it unleashed a hunger like no other. Owen stopped stuffing his face when he and Leshawna were snatched and stuff into safes. The Grips managed to free Owen with the aroma of sweet~ chicken. Still mad at Leshawna, the Gapers decided to let her rot in her cell, quite possibly…forever!
"Uh-hu. Guys!" Leshawna said.
Tough guy Duncan got the fright of his life when he was faced with our newest cast member…Alexandria. Who I, personally, brought to the show. Hey, what can I say, new contestants bring in more ratings. The Grips lost and Owen took the lame-o-zin to the nearest drive-thru. With only eight contestants left, maybe one of them will stand a chance…on another… 'aw' inspiring episode of…Total…Drama…Action!
~Insert Theme Song Here~
It was a calming morning; everyone was woken up by Chris and got ready for today's movie challenge except for Alex. She was already up and, in the woods, gathering supplies for a little potion. But while she was getting the right plants, her mind was elsewhere.
'I can't believe Duncan carried me back to bed after I fell asleep in his arms. That was…sweet of him.' Alex thought as she walked back to the girl's trailer.
Meanwhile in the girl's trailer, the other girls were getting ready.
"What about poor Owen? -Gasp- Or that boy I like, Tyson?" Lindsey asked brushing her hair.
"Tyler." Beth and Heather corrected.
"Girls all loaded up. I oughta try it," Leshawna said walking up to the mirror. "Get me the big bucks for being locked up in that safe all day."
"You stole my spa day! Do the crime, do the time." Heather said.
"Wasn't your spa day, besides I could've starved in their people." Leshawna replied.
"I seriously doubt that." Heather commented, before walking away from the mirror.
"And what is it you plan on doing at the spa without washing your hair?" Leshawna said, smirking.
Heather narrowed her eyes at Leshawna when Lindsey said that she got her hair in a knot and asked Beth for help. But Heather volunteered to help.
~Heather's Confession~
"It kills me, that Lindsey has all that hair on her head. When it's her fault that I lost mine. I would've chopped it off, but all I had was a hairbrush."
~Done~
"OW! Heather! I think you pulled my eyes into the back of my head." Lindsey said, after Heather pulled the brush.
"Oh. How's the new girl, Alex? Is it true she's wearing cat-ears?" Leshawna asked.
"She's really nice. Alex said that her cousin dared her to wear them while she's here." Beth answered.
"Yeah and those cat-ears look so~ cute on her." Lindsey commented before Heather pulled her hair again.
"Is that so? I have to meet this girl." Leshawna said.
~Heather's Confession~
"I have got to get me some hair. Not Leshawna's gross weave or Beth's pathetic ponytail. And I'm way~ to smart to be Lindsey blond. But Alex…hers would be perfect. *Pulls out some scissors* I'm just gonna borrow these, kay."
~Done~
Heather pulled the brush through Lindsey's hair one more time before, finally, getting the knot. But once she got the knot out, Alex walked in.
"Hey girls. Sorry I was out, I had to get some supplies for a formula." Alex said, setting the basket on the table.
"It's alright, Alex. What did you get?" Beth asked.
"Just some herbs from the forest. But be careful, there's some poison ivy in there too." Alex said, getting something from her bag before standing up and said, "It's an honor to finally meet you in person, Leshawna."
"Nice to meet you too, Alex. And Lindsey was right, those ears are cute on you." Leshawna said.
"Thank you, Leshawna." Alex replied, while crushing some of the herbs together in a bowl.
"You know, it's great to have your hair –uh here! Here! It's great to have you here, Alex." Heather said, fixing her mistake.
Before any of the girls could comment, a load horn was heard from somewhere on the movie lot. Leshawna asked what was that but it was non-other than Chris. The girls walked out of the trailer and walked towards the area where they heard the sound with the guys. Alex walked out of the trailer last with the crushed herbs, now in another bowl mixed together with some liquid ingredients.
'Now all it has to do is bath in the sun for a few hours, than I have to find some kind of liquid to make sure it will stay together. Why didn't I take some from Mom's lab when I had the chance?' Alex thought; while putting the bowl on top of the trailer. After that, she ran to catch up with the others. But Alex ran into Duncan.
"Sorry, my fault." Alex said.
"It's alright. C'mon, we better catch up with the others." Duncan said, leading the way and asked, "So, how are you this morning?"
"I'm alright. And you?" Alex replied.
"Great, now that you're here." He said, making Alex laugh.
"Um…thanks." Alex said, giving him a small smile.
~Duncan's Confession~
"You know, ever since Alex came, she's made things a little more interesting for me."
~Done~
"Hey, I was wondering if…Well that is if you don't mind…If and only if you really don't mind if I…" Duncan began to say, but seemed to be lost in his own words.
"What is it Duncan? Is there something you want to ask me?" Alex asked, tilting her head to the side making the bell on her collar shake a little. Duncan's eyes widen while his face turned a little red. Alex smiled and giggled at the look on Duncan's face.
~Alex's Confession~
"Who would of thought boys could be cute and funny at the same time? Well…other than my cousin, of course."
~Done~
Before Duncan could say another word, Alex asked to see his injured hand. She gently took his hand and removed her scarf. Once the scarf was off his hand, she saw a small bruise. 'The spell worked nicely. It's a good thing Mom taught me healing spells when I was little.' Alex thought, while rubbing her thumb across the bruise.
"It's healing quite nicely. The bruise should disappear soon, so you won't need to wrap it again." Alex said, letting go of his hand and was about to put away the scarf. But before she could, Duncan grabbed her hand making Alex look at him with a confuse look.
"Wait, can I…keep your scarf?" Duncan asked making Alex narrow her eyes. But before she could say anything, he added, "Just until my hand is fully healed."
"…I guess. But be careful; it's very special to me." Alex said, handing the scarf to him.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Thanks, Kitten." Duncan replied, making Alex blush a little. She walked a little faster, hoping he didn't see.
~Alex's Confession~
"It's kind of nice that Duncan gave me a nickname. I mean, the only people who gives or calls me by a nickname is my family. Don't get me wrong, my family's cool and I love them but…*Shyly rubs the back of her neck* I never had someone outside my family give me a nickname. Except for…freak, half-breed, and others along those lines."
~Done~
~Duncan's Confession~
"I called Alex 'Kitten' because she looks like a kitten with those ears on her head. I don't know why but it makes her look…innocent. I mean, when she tilted her head, she looked really cute; like an actual kitten. *Looks at the scarf that means a lot to the girl he was talking about, but froze stiff* Why do I get the feeling someone wants me dead?"
~Done~
Alex made it to the others in time to hear Heather's comment on Chris's outfit for today's movie challenge.
"Is that boy wearing a loincloth?" Leshawna asked, pointing at Chris.
"Like it?" Chris asked, making Duncan laugh.
"Oh, it hurts. A lot." Duncan said, laughing at Chris.
"You think that hurts; wait 'til you hear today's challenges. Now let's get started." Chris said, but remembered something. "As soon as I take care of a few conditions. Just to get Alex here, her parents laid out some rules."
"You said there are no rules." Duncan pointed out.
"There might, if you have over-protective parents like mine." Alex said, covering her face from the rest.
"Chef, hand me the list." Chris said, while Chef handed him a piece of paper. "Okay. Rule 1: Not withstanding that contestants are not permitted contact with the outside world, Alex may keep her cell phone."
"What! That's so not fair! I have a boyfriend!" Beth yelled.
"Care to take that up with our legal department, Beth? Huh?" Chris asked, pointing at Chef, who broke a stand making the girl return her comment. "Didn't think so. Rule 2: After everyone falls asleep, Alex must train for at least 2 hours. No less."
"Are you kidding me? I already know that." Alex said, confused.
"Let me finish, Alex. You also get to eat with the producers and myself, while everyone else gets their food from Chef." Chris said, making the others turn on Alex.
"What! No way!" Heather and Lindsey said at the same time.
"Wait! That can't be right." Alex said.
"Oh, and I forgot to mention that she gets her own…private…bathroom." Chris said, adding more fuel to the fire.
Before Alex could say anything, her phone went off. When she heard the lion roar, she froze. Alex brought out her phone and gulp in fear. When she answered it, everyone noticed her left hand was shaking. Duncan looked confused, but at the same time, concern about Alex.
"Hi, Dad. How are you? Are you guys watching the show?" Alex said, trying to stay calm. "Okay…Alright, I'll put you on speaker." Alex said, before pressing the speaker button.
"Hello, everyone." The voice said, making everyone stand straight.
"You got their attention, Dad. Please don't scare them." Alex said.
"I'll try not to, my little cub. As for the rest of you, do not yell at Alex. The conditions my wife and I set were for Alex to train at night for 2 hours, keep her phone, all her outfits for the challenges will be made by her sister, and…well you know the last one, don't you Alex?" Alex's father said.
"Yeah, I know it. Don't worry about that, Dad." Alex replied.
"Good. Now get me off speaker and hand the phone to Mr. McClain." Alex's father said.
Alex turned off the speaker and handed the phone to Chris, who looked nervous and scared. Chris took the phone and walked away to speak in private. But when Chris left, the others started asking Alex about her father.
"My dad was just using his military voice. Trust me when I say this, but you do NOT want to get on his bad side. Or my mom's bad side." Alex said, giving a stern look to the camera.
"Why? What happens if we get on their bad side?" Beth asked.
"Well…each member of my family, including myself, has a list of ten threats. If you make, for example, my sister and my cousin mad, they have a combine threat list. But if you hurt one member or get on every members' bad side, you face the family threat list." Alex explained, looking at the ground.
"Is the family threat list that bad?" Lindsey asked, slightly scared.
"Let's just say, people might not find you or recognize you after we're done with you." Alex answered, giving everyone a blank look.
Before they could ask any more questions, Chris came back but he was, somewhat, pale. He, slowly, gave Alex her phone back. Alex looked at Chris; silently asking what threat her father said. He didn't answer but held up three fingers.
~Alex's Confession~
"Seriously, Dad! You threaten Chris with threat number three!"
~Done~
"Alright, getting back to business. I think today's movie challenges will bring out your more…primal instincts. Today's genre…the period movie." Chris said, acting like nothing happen.
"Oh, I love period movies. All the pretty petty-coats and dresses with puff sleeves." Beth commented, making Alex shudder a little.
"Do we get wigs?" Heather asked, hoping there is one.
"Chef! Do we have a wig?!" Chris yelled.
Chef took a red wig from the rack and threw it at Heather. She commented about the wig smelling like raw-meat. Chris explained that today's challenge was the caveman period. Even though the wig was gross, Heather wanted hair; so, she just sucks up her pride and put the wig on her head.
"Okay. Cave people in prehistoric flexes do two things. Make fire and use tools made of bones. Technically, you should also know how to bring down a mammoth with a stick. But since Owen's no longer here. No mammoth; no challenge." Chris said, before walking up to the rack next to Chef and said, "Here are your costumes. Get into character, people."
"You gotta be kidding?" Alex and Duncan asked.
"I never kid." Chris said, before laughing a little and continued, "Actually I do but never about something this funny. Oh, and Alex. Here; your sister already made your outfit for the challenge."
Chris tossed Alex a small box. She opened it but quickly closed it again. 'Out of all the designs, she creates a panther skin bikini.' Alex thought as she goes to the woods and change, after making sure no cameras were nearby. (A/N: Think of the same design as Courtney's but this one is all black.) Under the outfit was a letter. Alex picked it up and read it:
Dear little sister,
Hope you're having a fun time on the show. Mom and Dad miss you and Damian…well let's just say that he slept in your room last night. But, whatever, I mean our cousin's always doing something weird. We're cheering for you, Alex! Good Luck!
From, your sister.
P.S: Mom wrote this letter, so you know what to do when your done reading and I made a hole for your tail.
Alex finished reading the letter and then the letter burst into flames. After she put her normal clothes in the box, she walked to the trailer to put her boots and the box away. Alex walked out of the trailer, barefoot, and stared walking back to the others. Once she got there, she heard a catcall and a wolf-whistle. She turned her head to see Duncan and Justin looking at her before they started glaring at each other. Alex rolled her eyes and went to meet up with the other girls.
"Hey, girls. Those costumes look good on you." Alex said.
"But not as good as you, girl. That tattoo is nice." Leshawna said.
Alex looked down and saw a protective magic symbol over her heart. "Oh, thanks Leshawna. I've had this since I was little."
"Aw, Alice. You have a tail and it so~ go with your ears." Lindsey commented, pointing at Alex's tail.
"Thanks, Lindsey. And my name's Alex." Alex said.
After that comment, Chris came and said, "Hello, cast. I see you're all decked out for the competition. And might I say, you all look pre-histarical."
"Who knew I'd look so hot in leopard skin?" Harold commented.
'I wish I was wearing my normal clothes.' Alex thought, but was knocked out of her thoughts when she saw Heather holding scissors. Alex turned towards her and gave her a curious look but Heather just pulled the scissors back and gave Alex a smile.
"Chef! The tools for the first stone age challenge, please!" Chris yelled. Chef started handing everyone a rock while saying 'here's your rocks.'
Duncan raised his rock up a little and said, "Rocks? Aren't we taking this stone age thing a little to literally."
"Shows how much you know, Duncan." Harold commented, "Rocks are an awesome resource." He was about to continue but Duncan drop his rock on Harold's foot, making him shut up. Alex rolled her eyes but didn't interfere.
"First team to collect the hidden firewood and use the 'flint' stones to make fire, earns something to help them with the next challenge. Ready…and…action!" Chris explained.
Everyone ran in different directions to find the firewood. Beth and Lindsey found some firewood behind some rocks while Alex found some behind a tree. Leshawna found five pieces behind a bush and Harold ran off somewhere that might have the hidden firewood. Duncan was about to continue his search but Chef pulled him back. Duncan lowered the fabric to cover himself but Chef ignored him and told him to hand over the modern materials. The delinquent threw out four materials but Chef knew he had one more. Duncan was about to cough it up but stopped when they heard Harold scream. Duncan noticed that Chef was distracted and put the last object back in his pocket. Two seconds later, Harold came running away from a giant prehistoric beaver.
Chris walked over to Chef and Duncan, laughing, before he said, "Looks like Harold found the wooden beaver-dam on the set of…Rodents, Who Kill"
Chef put Duncan down than said, "And Rodents, Who Kill Part 2"
Harold ran around the three and it appears that two prehistoric beavers were chasing him now. Duncan asked if the killer beavers were animatronics. Chris said yes, but he winked at the camera.
"That's right, keep those knees up!" Duncan commented, as Harold ran past them.
~Harold's Confession~
"Duncan and I have our differences. For example, where as I hate him; he can't stand me. But we're guys. And guys can put stuff like that aside; for the sake of the team. We can also pee standing up."
~Done~
"Help me!" Harold yelled, as he ran behind Duncan.
Duncan tripped Harold and commented on him getting the wood. The beaver was about to drag Harold away but a stick flew past the boys and hit one of the beavers. Duncan turned around and saw Alex glaring at the beavers. The beaver that got hit shook its head and growled. Alex walked up to the beavers and stood between them and the boys. She looked down at the beavers and with a low, dark, voice, she hissed, "Get lost." But when she blinked, her eyes turned from green to red. The beavers quiver in fear before running off, back to their dam. Alex close her eyes and took a deep calm breath to calm down; when she opened them again, her eyes were back to their original color.
Alex turned around and asked, "Are you guys alright?"
At first, the boys didn't say anything. Duncan was shocked that Alex just scared away two giant prehistoric beavers and act like nothing happen. Harold was surprise that someone, besides Leshawna, actually helped him when he was in danger. Alex asked the guys again but they still didn't reply. Before she could snap her fingers, Harold dashed at her and hugged her legs. She almost fell over but Duncan grabbed her hand and kept her balance.
"Oh, thank you! Thank you, Alex!" Harold yelled.
"Your welcome, Harold. But could you let go of my legs, please?" Alex asked.
"Oh, right." Harold said, letting Alex go and standing up.
"Are you guys alright? Those beavers didn't hurt you, did they?" Alex asked, still holding Duncan's hand.
"We're good, Kitten. You pretty much just saved geek-ward over here from them." Duncan replied.
"Alright. I better get back to my team, I'll see you guys later." Alex said, and was about to walk away but Harold stopped her.
"Wait! Here, take these." Harold said, holding up the firewood he got from the beaver-dam.
"But Harold, those are yours." Alex said, not taking the wood but let go of Duncan's hand; making the boy sad.
"As a way of me saying thanks." Harold said, still holding the wood.
Alex looked at the wood but pushed them back. Before Harold could say anything, Alex said, "How about this? When the teams merge, you, Leshawna, Duncan, and I form an alliance. With all of us working together, we can easily get to the final four."
The boys looked at each other but didn't say anything. Alex saw this and sighed. Then she said, "I'll give you guys time to think about my offer. Harold, can you tell Leshawna my plan?"
"Sure, thing. C'mon Duncan." Harold said before walking away with the wood.
"Go back to your team, Duncan. We can hang out during break." Alex said, before Duncan can say a word.
Alex gave Duncan a smiled before walking away. The delinquent watched the girl walk away while letting his eyes look at her up and down. While she was walking, he couldn't tell if the tail was moving from her movements or if it was moving on its own; but he loved the view. Before he could continue checking his kitten out, Leshawna called him over. He rolled his eyes but walked over to start the fire.
"I don't get it; how do you make fire with a rock? Oh, is this like the game rock, paper, scissor?" Lindsey asked, as Alex and Beth finish setting the wood.
"Um…no Lindsey, it's not like that. Here let me try to show you." Alex said, nicely taking the stones from her.
~Lindsey's Confession~
"Ally is so~ nice. But I bet she doesn't know, that when I was 12, my flat iron once accidentally set fire to my Grandma's house. Twice!"
~Done~
"Let's see if I can do this. I always go camping with my dad and my cousin during the summer." Alex said, pounding the two stones together to get the right spark.
Meanwhile, Duncan was in charge of starting the fire for the Gapers. Harold told Leshawna about Alex's plan about the alliance. She thought it was a good idea. Duncan looked at Alex and smirked because, to him, Alex looked cute with an irritating look on her face. Said girl felt eyes on her back and, without turning around, she said, "Stop staring at me, Duncan." Which resulted with Duncan flinching a little from the sudden command.
~Duncan's Confession~
"How'd she know I was staring at her? I mean, yeah, I admit I was staring at Alex but, it's just ever since she came on the show, Alex just *says in a daze voice while looking at the ceiling* drives me crazy." But he suddenly straightens up when he felt like someone was pressing a knife to his spine. "Seriously, why do I get the feeling someone wants me dead?"
~Done~
~Alex's Confession~
"I always had a sense when someone was behind me or looking at me. It's really useful at times. For example, whe-" Stops mid-sentence and turns around to see Heather holding some scissors; ready to cut Alex's hair. "Heather, what are you doing?"
"Ugh…nothing." Heather said before running off.
Alex points at where Heather was standing while staring at the camera with a smug smile and said, "And there was your live example of the sense I obtain."
~Done~
"Things are finally heating up." Chris announce, when Alex and Duncan started a contest to see who can start their fire first.
"Go Duncan! Burn her!" Heather cheered.
"Go Alex!" Beth cheered with Lindsey.
Both Alex and Duncan pounded their rocks to make fire but neither of them seems to ignite. Alex thought she got it but instead got her left pointer finger. She dropped the rocks and rubbed her finger; to make a little of the pain disappear. Lindsey picked up the rocks but before she could tap them together, Duncan was able to make fire. The Gapers cheered and Duncan was gloating by acting like a real caveman.
"Alex, I thought for sure you be the first to burst into flames. Gapers win the first challenge." Chris announced, walking over to the Grips.
"The reason I didn't burst into flames is because I crushed my finger." Alex explained, gaining Duncan's attention before continuing, "Luckily I didn't put a lot of force, so my finger should be alright. It's a good thing my right hand is cold."
Lindsey looked at the rocks in her hands and lightly tapped them together; when she did, she instantly started the fire. Alex looked surprise and impress; someone can't do everything. She smiled at Lindsey, silently congratulating her for starting the fire so fast. Alex stood up and told Chris that she needs to check on something. Chris allowed it but she had to get back on set in 20 minutes. Alex walked back to the trailers but she stopped half way and turned around to see Duncan jump behind something. The girl silently laughed at the delinquent for trying, and failing, to be a ninja.
"I know you're there, Duncan." Alex said.
"How'd you know?" Duncan asked, coming out from behind a prop.
"I kinda have a sixth sense when it comes to stuff like that; thanks to my cousin." Alex replied, when she started walking again.
"That be useful when you try to vandalize." Duncan said, mostly to himself but Alex still heard it.
Alex rolled her eyes and shook her head but still continued walking to the trailers with Duncan right behind her. They walked in silence for a minute until they reached the trailers. Alex climbed the girl's trailer to get the bowl she put there this morning. Once she got it, she was about to jump off but she slipped. Alex thought she was going to hit the ground but Duncan caught her. She looked up at him and smiled; Duncan just smirked.
"Thanks for catching me, Duncan." Alex said, when he put her down.
"No prob, Kitten." Duncan replied, using the nickname he gave her.
Alex smiled at him before looking at the bowl. The ingredients were now boiling a little and turned the liquid into a brown like substance. She nodded and went inside the trailer; leaving Duncan with a confuse expression. He followed her inside and saw her mix the weird liquid. Then she walked over to her stuff and bent over to get something. Even though Duncan was enjoying the sight of her ass in front of him, he, slowly, walked over to what she was mixing. To him, it was just a bunch of stuff mixed together; but to Alex, it was something that might help one of the other players with their current problem. Duncan was about to touch it, but a hand stopped him. His eyes followed the arm and looked at Alex.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Alex said, pushing Duncan away and stood in front of the bowl.
"What is that stuff?" Duncan asked standing behind her.
"Just something. Don't worry it's not poisonous or anything like that." Alex said, mixing the substance.
Duncan wanted to ask more questions but decided not to because she might not tell him and he knows he wouldn't understand what she might say. So, he just stayed silent and watched her mix…whatever it was. Alex told him that he could sit down if he wants but he preferred to stay where he is. She didn't say anything after that and just continue at the task at hand. After a few minutes, Alex looked at the clock and noticed that they have less than five minutes to get back. She told Duncan and they exited the trailer. Before Alex ran back to the set, she put the bowl back on top of the trailer, to further bake the ingredients.
'Just need to add one more ingredient than the potion will be complete. I hope it works.' Alex thought while she catches up with Duncan.
When they got back to the set, Alex noticed that Chris was about to blow his prehistoric horn. Alex covered her ears, thus making Duncan look confused but understood why she did that when he heard the same loud noise that he heard that morning. When Alex uncovered her ears, she thought that she heard Chris say, 'Yep, still loving this crazy thing.' The girl rolled her eyes before walking over to her team. Everyone lined up when Chris started talking.
"Time for our second caveman movie challenge. But first, Chef will pass out your rewards from this morning. Chef, weapons please." Chris said before the camera moved to Chef, who uncovered a pile of…
"Excuse me? Our reward is bones." Leshawna said, asking the question on everyone's mind.
"Hey, for cave-people bones were cutting edge technology. And they're not your reward." Chris said, while Chef passed out the bones to everyone. For the Gapers, they got small bones but when Duncan looked at the Grips, he noticed that they got bigger bones.
"Hey! What gives? We won the challenge; I made fire!" Duncan commented.
"Actually, you didn't. We reviewed the footage caught on camera and…you made fire with a lighter. Which is not a stone-age tool; which means…Lindsey made fire first. The Grips are the winners!" Chris explained and announced; making the Grips cheer.
Alex turned towards Duncan and raised an eyebrow; silently asking, 'Did you really use a lighter?' But all she got in response was a wink from the delinquent. Alex just rolled her eyes and smiled before Chris continued.
"The prop department for caveman movies are bare-bones. Which means these are all actors have to fight their on-screen enemies with." Chris said, holding a bone.
"And who might these enemies be?" Leshawna asked, getting irritated.
"Each other, of course." Chris said, throwing away the bone. "Grip tribe vs. Gaper tribe."
"Cool; we get to fight each other with bones." Duncan said, not realizing that someone was behind him.
Alex sneaked up behind Duncan and slams her bone on his head; thus, making him falls to the ground. When he turned around, he saw her laughing. He was about to yell at her but Chris came in and said that everyone will be fighting over a fake bubbling tar pit. If you knock your opponent off their column, earns a point for their team. When Chris said tar pit, Alex gave a small smirk.
'A tar pit! That's what the potion is missing! But…he said it was fake tar, so it might not work so well. I'll come later after the challenge and see if the potion will take the substitute. I think I might have real tar somewhere in the trunk, I mean luggage, my mom packed for me.' Alex thought as Leshawna and Lindsey go up the columns.
"I'm supposed to knock her off with this tinny wincey little bone?" Leshawna asked, holding up her bone.
"How do we know when to start?" Lindsey asked, looking at the others.
"Oh, don't worry! You'll know!" Chris said, before laughing. Then he took a deep breath and blow the prehistoric horn…again.
The vibrations from the horn cause the columns to shake a little. Leshawna was able to keep her balance but Lindsey fell into the tar pit, screaming. The Gapers cheered while Leshawna commented that her challenge was way too easy. Beth asked Lindsey if she was alright from the fall; her response was that the tar felt like a cool mud bath and wondered if it was good for the skin. Justin pulled Lindsey out of the tar pit before asking her to let him know if it was. Next up were Beth and Heather but something interesting will come in the fight because Lindsey's scream attracted a swarm of prehistoric Pterodactyls. Justin commented about the dinosaurs being special effects but Chris walked back to the horn while the girls get to their columns.
"Why don't you jump off now and save us all the time." Heather said before a Pterodactyl grabbed her wig; thus, making her scream. "My hair! Let go or your dead meat, Tweedy!"
The dinosaur took Heather's wig but during the process, she lost her balance thus making her fall; but she grabbed onto Beth's bone to keep her in the game. Heather told Beth to let go and she did; making her fall into the pit and earn a point for the Grips. When Heather hit the tar, the Grips and Leshawna cheered.
~Beth's Confession~
"They make us do a lot of horrible humiliating thing to each other on the show, and I haven't been very good at most of them, but when I knocked Heather off her high pedestal and made her fall into a pit of bubbling tar…well, that was my high pint of the competition. Maybe my whole life."
~Done~
"Hey, whose side are you on anyway?" Duncan question when she cheered.
"Yours. And hers. But it's kinda lose, win. Know?" Leshawna replied.
"Isn't anyone gonna help me out of here?" Heather asked.
"Here, Heather. Grab this." Alex said, holding one end of her bone to the fallen girl.
Heather grabbed the bone and Alex pulled her out. When Heather was out, she, and everyone else, looked at Alex; confused and surprise that someone actually helped Heather out…willingly! Said girl saw everyone's confuse faces but just gave a small smile in return. Alex nodded to Heather before walking over to her team, who were still confuse and shock. After a few more seconds of silence, Chris announced that the next fight would be Justin and Harold. The two consistencies went to their column and waited for the horn. While the two wait, Justin made a pose for the camera.
~Justin's Confession~
"I'm gonna win the million and Alex but that shot of me standing on top of this stone column is worth even more. It's gonna be an iconic image for the series. *Looks at his arm* Hey, Lindsey was right about the tar. My skin does look even better."
~Done~
"Watch me beat this twerp for the team, Alex!" Justin yelled but got an irritated eye-roll from the girl in response.
Before he could say anything else, Chris started the fight. Justin started swing his bone to try and knock him down but Harold kept dodging. While Harold was keeping his balance, he noticed that the prehistoric beavers came back. Duncan noticed the beavers and tries to get Harold to ignore them. Sadly, whenever Duncan tries to state a fact, the beavers do the exact opposite.
~Harold's Confession~
"I never thought I say this: but I'm scared of…beavers; especially fake prehistoric beavers."

When one of the beavers started climbing the column, a rock came out of nowhere and hit it on the head; thus, knocking him into the tar. The other beaver, who was eating the column, looked in the direction where the rock came from, only to get hit in the eye with the incoming rock. When the beavers came back up, they started growling; only to be stop when they noticed the person glaring at them with bright red eyes.
"I thought I told you two to get lost!" Alex said, holding her bone in a way like she was about to hit them. The beavers whimpered a little before growling again. They both got out of the tar pit and ran towards Alex.
"Oh, so you want the hard way! So be it!" Alex yelled as she dodges an attack and hit the other one on the head with her bone.
The beavers got ready for an attack and Alex got in an attack stance. The three stared each other down while everyone else stood back and watch the fight between Alex and the beavers. One of the beavers ran towards Alex to bit her arm while the other one ran around her to bit her leg, but Alex was too fast for them and hit the beaver in front of her with the bone before withdrawing her leg and kick the other beaver. The beavers ran around Alex, in opposite directions, to try to confuse her; sadly, that didn't work on her.
'Thank you, Dad!' Alex thought as she stood straight and closed her eyes.
Everyone saw this and looked confused. Alex was just standing there while the beavers were closing in on her. Duncan was about to yell at her to move or attack but stopped when he saw a small smirk form on her face. Alex slowly opened her eyes, Duncan noticed that they were red instead of their normal green and raised her bone in front of her; just that movement gave the beavers the chance to attack the girl. Alex jumped a little and spun in the air. That attacked allowed her to hit both beavers at the same time; thus, knocking them back. When Alex landed on her feet, she turned towards the two prehistoric beavers and glared at them until they ran back to their dam. Once the beavers were gone, Alex closed her eyes and took a deep breath to control her anger. She turned towards the rest of the cast and open her eyes, they returned back to their normal green. Everyone looked shocked that Alex fought against two prehistoric beavers…AND WON! Before anyone could say anything, the column that Harold was on started to sway. He tried to keep his balance but the column started to fall. Instead of going down alone, he grabbed Justin, who was staring at Alex, and they both fell into the tar pit.
"That was awesome!" Chris yelled, "Nice job fighting the beavers, Alex! Anyways, that leaves the teams tied and us with a match between Duncan and Alex…on the same column! You just can't write this stuff."
"This might be a short fight." Alex said, softly, hoping that no one heard her.
When Duncan and Alex were on the column, Alex was having trouble keeping her balance and had to hold onto Duncan to stay on the column. Duncan laugh and said a weird, to Alex anyway, comment, which brought back a weird feeling that been following him all day. 'What the hell! Why do I keep getting this feeling when I talk to/about Alex?' Duncan thought; but unknown to him, Alex heard his thoughts due to her panther like hearing.
"What's wrong, Duncan? You look stiff." Alex asked, tilting her head to the side, making her collar bell ring.
Before he could answer, Chris started the fight. They both raise their bones to attack; but that movement alone, made both of them almost lose their balance. Alex grabbed Duncan's hand and pulled herself back to the center of the column but that movement was strong enough to almost make the two fighters kiss. Alex ducked her head so it landed on Duncan's chest while Duncan's chin hit her forehead; making the girl yelp. Duncan was about to asked if he hurt her but got pushed off the column by the girl. Before he fell completely, he grabbed onto something, which was Alex's tail. Alex yelps again and sat down because of the pain.
Alex turned her head around to look at Duncan and said, in a soft child-like voice, "Duncan…you're hurting me. Please… let go…"
Duncan looked up at the girl and froze because Alex was giving him the cutest pout with blur-water eyes he has ever seen. Then Duncan was hit in the face with a bone; thus, making him loose his grip and making him fall into the tar pit.
~Duncan's Confession~
"It's like they were two Alex's up there. The innocent child that was giving me that look and the hottie in the fur bikini." He stopped and looked around before he said, "I swear that feeling keeps coming back!"

~Alex's Confession~
"Did I just do the sad kitten eyes on Duncan? I never thought I would use it here but I guess, my cousin was right. Thanks, Damian! I owe you one! And sis, did you have to give me a bikini?!"

"Well, I guess the Gapers had a better chance at the 1 million BC. BC before Alex. As for the Grips, they win today's reward: a mammoth size prehistoric barbeque!" Chris said, as Chef comes with the reward on a golf cart. "But don't worry, the Grips may have won today's reward but we're not going to let the Gapers go hunger." Chris continued before throwing an egg over to Harold.
"A Pterodactyl egg?" Harold asked.
"Should be enough for four. You do have fire." Chris said but the fire burned out. "Maybe if you're lucky, the Grips will throw you a bone when they're done."
Justin, Beth, and Lindsey all walked over to the golf cart; ready to eat the mammoth meat. But when Chef got off the cart, it moved back and almost fell into the tar if it wasn't for the two bones that landed behind the wheels. The Grips looked up and saw Alex jump onto the golf cart, to untie the meat before jumping off. When she landed on the ground, the cart broke loose and fell into the tar pit. The Grips and Chef gasped; realizing that Alex just saved the reward. Before Chris could comment on what happened, everyone heard a shriek.
"Uh, Harold. I think the Pterodactyl wants its egg back." Chris said, a little scared
Harold was about to drop it but the egg was stuck to his hands due to the tar. The dinosaur swooped down to get her egg from Harold but was tackled by Heather because the bird had her wig. When the situation was resolved, thanks to Heather, Alex asked Chef if she could use one of his kitchen knives to cut the meat. He nodded and went to get one. When he came back he handed the knife to Alex, who sliced the meat down between the bones so each bone can have the same amount of meat. She thanked Chef for the knife and returned it to him before giving team members their share of the meat. Beth and Lindsey thanked Alex before running to their fire to eat their meat. Justin thanked Alex and asked if she wanted to feed him the meat while he rests his head on her lap. Alex just gave him a blank look before kicking him back into the tar pit. After Alex kicked Justin away from her, she walked over to the Gapers camp.
"How long for a soft-boiled Pterodactyl egg?" Harold asked, holding the egg above the fire.
"I'm guessing about…three hours." Leshawna said.
"Um…Leshawna?" Harold said.
"Yes, sweetie?" Leshawna answered.
"My hands feel ouchie." Harold said.
"I have some cool gel with me back in the trailer if you need some, Harold." Alex said standing a little away from the group.
Harold and Leshawna turned around and saw Alex with her share of the reward. Heather looked up and asked, "What are you doing here? Come and rub the reward in our faces?"
"No, actually. I came to share my part of the meat with you guys. It's not out of pity or sympathy, I just want to try to be friends; even though we're on different teams." Alex said, shyly turning her head to the side near the end.
The Gapers looked a little shocked at the answer but agreed to let her sit with them. Alex smiled before tearing some meat off the bone and handed it to everyone; Leshawna had to hold Harold's share because of the egg. The group sat around the fire and enjoyed their dinner.
"So…where did you learn those moves, Alex?" Harold asked.
"My dad. He wanted to make sure me, my sister, and my cousin can protect ourselves when we need too." Alex answered, before taking a bite out of her meat. "Truth be told, I've never actually been in a fight before."
"Those were some sick moves. You sure you weren't in some fights?" Duncan asked.
"Positive." Alex said, throwing her bone in the fire.
The conversation ended after that because Alex stood up and bid everyone goodnight before walking to the trailers. When she was half way to the trailers, Alex sensed someone behind her. She turned around and saw Heather with scissors in her hand. Before Alex could say anything, Heather reached forward to grab Alex but, said girl moved out of the way and tackled Heather down.
"What the hell, Heather?!" Alex exclaims.
"Give. Me. Your. Hair!" Heather yelled.
Alex kept Heather down and made sure she doesn't reach for the scissors. Heather kept at it for a while before giving up; she laid there, breathing heavenly. Alex stayed quiet before saying something.
"Are you done with your little hair-withdrawal outbreak?" Alex asked, getting a nod from Heather. Alex got off of Heather and continued, "Heather, I may have something that could help you."
"Really?" Heather asked, looking at Alex with a slight hope in her eyes.
"My mom knows a formula that would grow hair back to its natural length in 24 hours. It worked for my uncle because someone shaved half his beard off when he was asleep." Alex explained.
"What! Do you have some? How long will it take you to make it?" Heather asked.
"Calm down, Heather." Alex said, placing her hands on the girl's shoulders. "I started working on it this morning. All I need to do is add one more ingredient, stir, and let it sit for five minutes. After, that we'll rub some on your head."
Heather smiled before nodding her head. Alex let her go and they both walked to the trailers. The walk was silent when the girls got to the trailer. Alex told Heather to relax and take a shower; when she was out, the formula will be ready. Heather agreed and went to grab her things, before heading to the showers.
~Heather's Confession~
"I can't believe Alex is helping me! She is willingly helping me get my hair back. And…I've been trying to cut her hair today. Wow…I never thought someone would be generally nice to me before."

When Heather left the trailer, Alex went to her luggage and dug through it to find that one ingredient that's needed. After a minute of searching, she was able to find it. Alex took the small jar and put the right amount of tar in the bowl; after going outside and getting it from the roof. She mixed the materials together before whispering the right spell. The bowl shined and shimmered before dying down, just in time too. Because right after it died down, Leshawna, Lindsey, and Beth came.
"Hey, Alex. What are you doing?" Beth asked.
"Oh, nothing much. Just making something." Alex said, grabbing the bowl and holding it close to her so the others don't get it.
"What's you got there, sweetie?" Leshawna asked.
"Nothing special. Just something I cooked up." Alex said, putting the bowl down to get her clothes. "To tell you the truth girls, I'm going to go change into my pjs."
"Why don't you change here?" Beth asked.
"Cameras." Alex simply said before walking out with her workout clothes and the bowl in hand.
After she walked out, Alex went to the showers to see if Heather is done and ready for the potion. On her way there, someone jumped out behind her. Thanks to her sense, Alex kicked the person away but was careful enough not to spill the potion. She turned around and saw…
"Justin? What are you doing?" Alex asked, clutching her clothes and the potion closer to her.
"Ow…that hurt. Is a bruise forming? Why did you kick me?" Justin asked, ignoring Alex.
"Never sneak up on a girl." Alex simply said.
"Still. You didn't have to kick me. I could have gotten a bruise on my chest or a scratch on my back from the fall." Justin argued.
"…Are you done? Cause if you are, I'm leaving." Alex said, turning around.
"Wait!" Justin called out.
"Bye, Justin." Alex said, walking away.
Justin was about to follow her but was pushed down by Duncan. Alex ignored the yelling that was coming from the guys and walked into the showers.
"Heather! Heather, are you here?" Alex called out.
"Yeah. I'm right here, Alex." Heather said, walking out of the stall in her pjs.
"Alright Heather, the formula is ready. I'll put some on your head but can I change out of this costume first?" Alex asked.
"Sure, Alex." Heather said, walking to the mirror while Alex walked into the stall.
After two minutes, Alex walked out in a black tank top and sweatpants. She walked over to Heather and told her to sit down while she rubs the formula on her head. Heather did what the neko-witch said without complaint and sat on the edge of the sink. Alex turned Heather's head towards the mirror than put on the gloves, that were in her pocket. She told Heather to relax until she's done. Alex got some of the potion in her hands and rubbed it on Heather's head. She spread the potion with her fingers, making sure to get only that area. After five minutes of silence, Alex was done.
"Okay Heather; I'm done. Now, in order for this to work, you have to wear the wig Chris gave you today for the whole day tomorrow. The sun can't hit that spot for no more than five minutes. For example, if someone takes your wig, you have to get it back immediately or else the formula won't work." Alex explained, while she throws away the gloves and get her costume.
"Alright, I can do that." Heather said, putting her wig on and getting her stuff before turning towards Alex. "Alex…thank you for this; but why are you helping me? You saw the first season, I played a lot of people in order to get to the final three."
"That may be true, but I believe that most girls, no matter what they did in the past, should have a friend that'll have their backs. In this case, I saw how badly you wanted hair and I wanted to help; so, I made the formula because…I want to be Heather's friend." Alex said, holding the door for the other girl.
Heather was shocked to say the least, so Alex grabbed Heather's hand and walked out. They walked in silence; Heather was lost in her thoughts about what Alex said and Alex was looking around because she had a feeling Justin might want to talk to her again. Once the girls got to the trailer, Alex let go of Heather's hand and opened the door. Heather smiled before walking in. Immediately, Heather and Leshawna glared at each other and Alex ignored the tension between the girls to put her cave-girl costume away. Lindsey and Beth ignored the girls and went to bed. Alex said night to the girls before walking outside to start her training.
Alex did her stretched and made a fire like last night. She un-wrap her tail and looked around before casting the mirror spell again. The fire took Alex's form and got in defense while Alex took offence. She sparred with her fire self for about half an hour before switching sides for the other half hour. After that, Alex cancel the spell and the fire went back to normal. She sat down on a stump and stared at the fire; letting the cold air-cool her body. After taking a break, Alex crossed her legs and folded her arms, still sitting on the stump and her tail still out. She closed her eyes and meditate; but before she could clear her mind, Alex felt two pair of eyes on her form from the boys' trailer.
Without opening her eyes, Alex said, "I know you two are watching. You can come out now; I won't bite."
Alex heard the door open and footsteps coming towards her. Duncan and Harold sat on the stumps on the other side of the fire. No one said anything for a while; the boys were getting a little uncomfortable with the silence and were about to speak but Alex spoke first.
"How long were you two watching." Alex asked; she still had her eyes close.
"When you sat down 'til you spotted us." Harold said.
"Why were you watching me?" Alex asked.
The boys stayed quiet before Duncan answered, "We were wondering if…we could…join you?"
"You guys want to join me in my training?" Alex repeated, opening her eyes.
"You got awesome moves. It would be an honor to train under someone with skill, such as yours." Harold said, bowing his head.
"It would be cool to learn new moves to ditch the cops, plus I want to see if I could obtain that sixth sense you have." Duncan said.
Alex looked at the boys; silently debating with herself to see if she should allow them. After a minute of silence, she sighed and stood up before speaking, "Very well. I'll train you guys. But I'll only train you for 1 hour. Because I need to review some moves my dad taught me that I'm still having trouble with. It's best to train with the air, alone, then with someone else and break a bone."
"Understandable." Duncan said, while Harold nodded.
"Thank you, Sensei." Harold said, standing up and bowing.
"Raise your head, Harold. There's no need to bow." Alex said.
"It's a sign of respect." Harold replied.
"I know, but if you really want too, only do it at the beginning of the lesson. Do you guys want to start now or tomorrow night?" Alex asked, keeping her tail hidden behind her.
Harold said tomorrow and Duncan said today. After a debate between the three, Alex taught them some basic moves. She just taught them the right way to punch, kick, block, and dodge. Duncan and Harold were fast learners but they were still messing up. Harold kept over-exaggerate with the kicks, so Alex had to keep an eye on that. While Duncan was doing fine but he didn't put a lot of strength in his punches or kicks. She stood in front of him and told him to punch her. Duncan, hesitated at first, send his fist and, no doubt, Alex caught it. She looked at his fist and patted it, saying that the knuckles have to be hard. He tried again and noticed the difference; than he tried kicking. He didn't keep his balance at first but Alex was able to help him.
When the hour was over, the boys learned a lot and was able to feel the difference. Alex sent them to bed, Harold bowed while Duncan just nodded before they went to their trailer. Harold went to bed with a smile on his face; happy that he made a new friend and learned some moves to, hopefully, impress Leshawna. Duncan went to bed with a smile on his face; he got closer to Alex and noticed that her attitude changed from challenges to training. He could still feel the heat from Alex's hands on his shoulders, back, arms, legs, and hands.
Alex silently watched as her new 'students' went to their trailer; mentally laughing at the fact that she's a teacher now. Alex sighed deeply, before putting out the fire with dirt and a bucket of water she had nearby. Luckily, she was able to hide her tail from them by swinging it in the other direction and hide it in the dark. After the fire was out, she walked back to the girls' trailer.
'Today was an eventful one. Made a potion, fought prehistoric beavers, made friends with the Grips, and now I have 2 training partners here.' Alex thought as she gets to her bed but before she could drift into dreamland, one last thought went came to mind. 'This could be interesting.'
