IF YOU HAD QUESTIONS READ THIS THINGY! ^^ Actually Read It Anyway! If you do ill give u a hug! (^^)
Thanks for readin! Your awesome by the way! All of my readers are so patient! Which is good! Very good! So for those of you wondering how Marshall did survive the spell binding with Ashley (I did give a hint-hint toward it but I can see if some of you guys missed it) don't worry I will clarify on that subject later. Think of it as something to look forward to. In this fic the Master's face will be revealed. The question about the 18 year old 'making out' with a 14 year old being pervy it really isn't. The maturity difference is odd, but it will change as they good older besides a lot of people in my life have this same age difference. I know Xero kinda freaked out about it, but this is MY view on the subject not hers. Ask your parents they probably aren't the same age. My cousin is dating a guy four years older than her, he's in college and we're both still in high school (They are having two totally different experiences so this isn't the best thing they could be doing. He'll meet girls on campus and she'll meet guys who want to take her to prom who haven't already been) but being four years apart isn't the problem. My brother is dating a girl 4 years younger than him (they are both in college and so they get to share similar experiences) My ex bff's parents are like six years apart (her mom is older) and my "sister's" parents are i think ten years apart. My other best friend's girlfriend is four years younger than him. My own parents are two years apart. My grandparents are like four or five years apart. Age isn't really an issue. BTW Marshall is "18" just like PG. It is a Fiolee fanfic after all. Anyway if you can't stomach an innocent kiss of the first date between two teens 4 years apart then why are you here, good sir? (it's rated Teen and it is FANFICTION so you can expect far worse on here) To the amazing child who asked if Xero was me then wow I've been found out! Hehe. What gave it away? Well in all actuality Xero is similar to me but she isn't me. Some of the things in Xero's life are experiences I've had and some are made up. In the end she's just an OC very loosely based off myself, but I swear to the fact it is a Fiolee fanfic and not and MarshallxOC (he's more like a brother than a love interest to Xero which I prefer cause Fiolee is just so darn cute!). This fic is a lot of comedy but I promise the same amount of drama and romance as the show (even though I'm not even a quarter as awesome as Pen Ward) I shall try to entertain you peps! Thanks to those who read and if you have anymore questions/ critiques/ or suggestions then please go ahead. Don't be shy, I only bite on days ending with Y. Like a Dear Ryan only a Dear Xero (YouTube fanatic yeah I love me some Ryan Higa!) Review good people, REVIEW
The Treehouse….
The sunrise was a beautiful thing. The way the dark indigos and deep violets melted into the pure oranges and subtle reds was a ballet of a new day. It's truly breathtaking to see such a wonder that happens every single day. Yet when your sleeping in the oh-so-comfortable bed all warm and snuggled its hard to appreciate the source of light biting at your eyelids, forcing you awake.
Fionna didn't much care for mornings. She liked to sleep. However, Cake liked making breakfast in the morning and when she made breakfast she liked to sing.
It wasn't that Cake's singing was bad; Fionna just didn't appreciate it as much at the crack of dawn. She just groaned and retreated back into the covers. She found herself drifting back into dreamless sleep.
It was a different day, though. Cake was singing and making breakfast and Fionna was sleeping but the sun had decided to sleep in too. The sun hadn't shown its face yet. Instead the clouds blocked the warm rays of life and began to grey the sky. It cried.
The rain was very heavy and the winds were harsh. It wasn't a good day to go out. It was, however, a good day to sleep in. Perhaps play games on BMO and sit on the couch all day. Watch movies. Mess around. Of course they wouldn't play Card Wars, not after the last time with Cake.
But right now Fionna wanted to sleep. The rhythmic sound of the rain, the cool temperature and warmth under the covers, the total darkness and eerie mood outside: it was all just perfect.
Peaceful she was. Steady was her chest, rising with every breath and falling with every exhale. Her eyes were closed, her mouth was slightly open, and her unbrushed hair hung in her face.
She was asleep. She was confortable. She was peaceful. She looked just so cute….and she looked so vulnerable!
The vampire's smile widened across his face. He almost chuckled to himself, he was so clever. Then again, he was also pretty stupid thinking this would end well.
That smell of bacon pancakes was calling to me, and I had no clue when the last time I'd eaten was. So the last thing I wanted to do was watch Marshall scare Fionna in her bedroom and get his teeth knocked out for it. Well, actually scratch that. I would enjoy seeing that last part but I'd rather have a steaming plate of Cake's cooking while watching it!
But I knew I'd have to be introduced before barging in. And although I snuck in, I snuck in with Marshall as the uninvited guests' uninvited guest. So it was okay as long as he told them who I was.
"Are you going to scare her or not?" I hissed at him.
We were hiding in the rafters and I would rather be on the ground. Heights and I don't get along. Heights and spiders. And the fact there was a possibility one of those creepy crawlers was roaming about up here I was not gonna chance sticking around. Nope, I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Marshall didn't quite feel the same way. He held up his index finger to his lips and smiled. "Shhhh." He whispered through his pursed lips. "Patience. It takes the right about of quietness, presence, position, and surprise to make the perfect scare. "
I rolled my eyes. "Can you hurry up the patience, please?" I snapped. Patience? I have no patience for patience!
My stomach growled. I had really no clue the last time I'd eaten or what I'd eaten. I remembered this feeling though because I've had it before. It's that feeling when your running late to a flight so you skip breakfast and then by the time you've landed and are looking for the rental car the only thing you've had in your system is half a ginger ale from the flight and a bag of Doritos or a honey bun (depending on what's in the air port vending machine).
It was a loud roar of my belly. Somehow it caused Fionna to stir and she moaned a bit as she switched from lying on her left side to the right, curling herself in a ball.
Marshall glared at me. I just shrugged and mouthed the word 'starving'. He rolled his eyes and looked back down at his prey and returned into his 'zone'.
I must've broken his concentration. Pft! As if! He should feed me! All I desire is food!
Suddenly Marshall began to make his move. FINALLY! Gezz, this guy puts way too much effort into this kinda stuff. Then again he is a vampire. More like a demon, but whatever.
He silently crept down and made his way to the end of her bed. He scratched the side of the wood with his nails causing Fionna to become aware of the noise. She barley sat up and scanned the room, nothing. So she laid back down.
A tapping against the window made Fionna bolt upright. She noticed it was one of the braches. I'm sure she felt stupid getting worked up over a branch. But that was what Marshall wanted her to believe.
He made a quick motion on the floor of the other side of the room. Fionna averted her attention to the darkness. "C-cake? Is that you?" She asked.
Marshall looked up at me and mouthed something. I couldn't understand so I leaned in a bit. Creek! And that would be the rafters under my feet alerting Fionna. She looked around desperately. "Cake? BMO? Guys? You tryin' to scare me? Cause it won't work!" She yelled. I would've believed her if it weren't for the fact her voice cracked at the end, her hiding under the covers, and the obvious fear in her eyes. But other than that, sure, I would've believed her.
I saw Marshall mouth something else. 'Good job'. Oh great. I've become an accomplice.
I just rolled my eyes, which apparently had been going on a lot this early in the morning, and continued watching. Marshall used the dark again to his advantage.
Suddenly the window threw itself open. Fionna quickly jumped up to close it and looked around the dark room. Marshall again crept on the sides. He made sure she knew something was there but made sure she didn't know what.
Whatever his scare was going to be it was well thought out. Sadly instead of using that brilliant mind for good me must use it for crap like this. Great work, Marshy, you can scare a fourteen year old girl.
Marshall positioned himself behind Fionna. Shrouded by the dark and unseen by the confused girl. I could tell he was about to make his final move. Closer I leaned in. Closer. I wanted to see. For some reason I wanted to see. So I got closer.
Closer, closer, then I felt it.
For a moment my breath escaped me, the world paused, time turned against me. I slipped. And I was going to fall.
Down I fell to the floor below. I landed on my side, which really hurt by the way, but the pain wasn't what I was freaking out about. It was the teenage girl standing three feet away.
Quickly she drew her sword and screamed. "MONSTER!" Was the first thing she shouted.
I scrambled to get up, avoiding a swing of the sword as I did so. "Watch it!" I yelled.
Fionna paused and glared at me. "Who are you? And what are you doing in my bedroom?!" She demanded.
"Okay! Okay. Chill, girl! Uhhh I come in peace?" I stuttered. I looked over at Marshall, who was giggling silently. That little-
"What the stuff, man?" Fionna yelled at me. I looked at her questionably, still keeping my distance as best as I could. "Who are you?" She stepped forward again.
"I-um-er-uhh-" Gob, why couldn't I get the words out?! I just want to live, man!
She advanced further. "I will mess you up!" She threatened.
I couldn't fight off Fi! No way! I took karate once but I only got to like a green belt and that was nine years ago when I was seven! TV fight scenes don't fail me now!
"Cool it, Fi. This one is with me." Marshall said, from the darkness. He was right behind Fionna and I heard her shriek again.
"Glob, Marshall! You scared the stuffing outta me!" She yelled.
He chuckled. "I try. Actually looks like Xero beat me to it." He said.
"Xero?" She said, looking at me.
"Yeah. Uh- that'd be me!" I told her.
She hit Marshall on the back of the head. "What the fudge, Marshall? I was asleep!"
"I know! And you were so adorable. So peaceful that I just had to ruin it." He teased.
"What's with bringing this guy?" She demanded.
I walked forward to help explain but tripped and landed on Fionna. Down we tumbled. I was on top…..of Fionna….in her room….Crap. Just like a stupid anime moment. Only less romantic unless it's a yuri fic which I'd never let it turn into one.
I've come to the conclusion that straight girls don't like yuri and straight boys don't like yoai. Actually, I've been proven wrong on that last one but ony once and he was a ginger so it doesn't count.
Marshall sighed. "Wait to go, Z."
Fionna looked up at me and blushed a bit. "Wha? Get off of me, jerk!"
"What's goin' on here?" Cake asked as she and BMO barged in. They must've heard Fionna scream. What else did she see but me on top of Fionna. And of course she got the wrong idea.
She raged at me. And I quickly leapt off Fionna who stood up and grabbed Cake. "Relax! He's with Marshall!" She explained.
Still on the ground I felt that anger mark appear again. "I'm a FEMALE, DARN IT!" I screamed.
Marshall laughed. "Oh, Z! You're a riot!"
I glared at him. "Yeah? And you're something alright." I mumbled.
Marshall smiled at me. "You upset there, little girl?"
I stood up and glared at him. "Whatever is wrong with you, It's no little thing."
"Will someone please tell me what's goin' on?" Cake asked.
"Marshall wanted to scare Fionna and dragged me along for the ride." I explained.
"Okay. That is not- well, actually yeah it is what happened." He laughed again.
"Nice to know you get your kicks by scaring kids, Marshy." I teased.
"Wait! I still don't understand who you are?" Fionna pointed to me.
"A vampire friend? Oh, wait! A girlfriend?" Cake inquired.
Marshall and I both gaged.
"Ew gross! No! This freak? No way! Not in a million years! Nuh-uh! Nope! Never! Not gonna happen! Ever!" We both screamed back at once.
"Z is just a friend! Whom I occasionally tease and attempt to seduce!" He winked at me and to make his point he put his arm around my waist, which I swatted away.
Fionna blushed a bit and glared at me. "Who the stuff are you?!"
If I didn't know any better then I'd say Fionna was slightly jealous of me. "Occasional? Marshall, I swear, on a regular basis I attempt to knock your teeth out." I snapped.
He chuckled.
"Marshall are you donkin' with my head? What's going on here?!" She growled.
Marshall put a hand on Fionna's shoulder. "Relax, Fi. This is my friend, Xero. And she's a human. Just like you."
With gasps from the girls and Fionna's big blue eyes getting bigger. Thanks to Marshall I had just become Fionna's new person of interest.
Somewhere in Aaa…
You could say Ashley wasn't a girl to hold a grudge. You could say she wasn't a girl obsessed with what people thought of her. You could say she wasn't interested in power or control. You could say she was a level headed girl who thought things through and didn't let revenge rule her heart. Then again you could also say she wasn't a sadist, too.
You could say it. But that didn't make it true.
Just like her you could say anything about Ashley. It didn't have to be true, just so long as it kept her sane she'd tell herself that.
I'm over him, I don't need Marshal!
I'm a good person, I am.
I'm powerful now, so friends don't matter.
They laughed at me! They ridiculed me! They deserved it!
I don't care about anyone but me, myself, and I!
I'm in control! I am! I have everything the way I want!
I'M NOT CRAZY! I'M NOT LONLEY! I'M NOT!
She knew she was lying. It was the most dangerous type of lying, too. Yeah, there are different types. Each has it's own level of urgency.
When you lie to a stranger, it works, because you probably will never see them again so the three second impression you made is all they'll ever know of you for however long you stick in their memory.
When you lie to someone you know, it doesn't work as well. Family, friends, classmates, teachers-you live with these people. You see them regularly. Eventually you will be found out. And it's sucks to be surviving in the after affect of the storm.
The worst type, here it is, is lying to that person you see everyday looking back at you in the mirror.
You.
Because you live with yourself everyday. You lie and lie and lie until you begin to believe it. It starts off as a small lie. Then you reassure yourself with it, as if this lie is keeping you sane. In order to keep yourself sane you keep lying. Then it becomes a truth. This truth begins eating you away, ever so slowly, and then you see it but by then it's too late. You're not you anymore.
Now you have to live with yourself everyday, you liar. No. You aren't a liar anymore. You are the lie.
A lie is like a snowball on top of a big mountain. It starts off small. A ball of fluff thrown together, but it seems sturdy. So people begin testing how sturdy it really is. In order to survive it has to keep moving, just out of reach of others, and as it rolls down it gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger until one of two things happen: The snowball hits the ground and you're forced to pick up the pieces. If you clean up nice enough, you might still have something left from that wreck. Or, you're already at the bottom, trying to catch your snowball, and you get crushed by the weight.
She shook her head vigorously. There was no time to think such things. She had work to do.
A top of the lap? A lap topper? A laptop? Whatever this strange device was, her master wanted it. So, in short, he was going to get it.
She had to think this out wisely. She couldn't just seduce someone, get what she wanted, and flee. Even her new powers wouldn't do much against the Vampire King.
But she could defeat anyone! Fionna was tough, but no match for her now. Cake? Mrs. Stretchy Stretch? Not an issue? Prince Gumball? Prince No-Balls is more like it. Flame Prince? Water spells would keep her plenty safe from him. BMO? As if that'd ever be a problem! That new kid. That new human. He obviously wasn't around from this horrid wasteland of a world. Not a threat, but an interest.
Ashley despised mortals. Fionna was the last of those wretched humans and she had no problem with that other than the fact she was still alive and Marshy liked her better. But this new guy. Something new, a fresh device of torture or love. Maybe both? Who says romance isn't painful?
This mortal held possession of this device. All she needed was to get to him and keep him away from the others. Her new powers were very strong and could easily defeat her enemies but if that group came at her at once she'd be in trouble.
Marshall would be the only challenge, but her master would help her so she knew she'd be just fine. Just as long as the human kid cooperated she'd have it all. The device, her master's praise, and a new pet! How delightful! She could already hear him screaming! Music to her ears.
Ashley licked her lips. She could no longer wait. She'd make her move today at sun-up. Soon she'd have everything. Just like she always wanted.
In the Treehouse's Kitchen…
I felt a weird chill up my spine, the kind of ominous feeling you get before something bad happens, but I figured it was the vampire sitting next to me still teasing Fionna about his morning scare. But I couldn't shake this feeling.
"You feelin' okay, hun'?" Cake asked, putting another round of bacon pancakes on my plate.
"Yeah! Just hungry, that's all. Mr. Vampire doesn't believe in hospitality for his quests." I snarled at him then began wolfing down the pancakes.
He shrugged.
"You're really human?" Fionna asked.
I shrugged. "Yeah. Just like you."
I guess Fionna was either really interested in my face or was trying to burn two holes in my head with the laser vision she must not have yet perfected.
I wolfed down more pancakes.
"I've never seen someone put away so much food!" Cake exclaimed.
"I've haven't eaten in ages! Or have I? When was the last time I ate? What did I eat? Meh, I can't remember. I'm having trouble remembering a lot of stuff."
Cake looked at me troubled. "Amnesia?"
"No, not that bad. Just foggy. Like I don't remember how I got here or the last thing I was doing or anything like that. More please!"
Marshall shrugged. "Yeah? Kinda odd. No clue how you ended up here?"
"Nada." I replied, my mouth full of pancakes.
"Ending up here? Where are you form then?" Fionna asked.
I looked at Marshall, silently asking him if it was okay to say anything. He shrugged. Well I told him and the fabric of time didn't combust so I guess I could tell them too?
"Earth. More specifically, the past."
"The past? Where is Earth? Are you an alien? I thought you were human?!" Fionna blurted out.
"I am human! I am! And this is Earth, after the Mushroom War. Before the war, humans were very common. Everywhere. In fact all these creatures are new to Earth."
They all looked flabbergasted.
"And what's that thing you've got in your lap?" Cake asked.
"This?" I held up my laptop. "It's my laptop!" I held it in pride as the girls marveled at it.
"It makes me uneasy." Marshall said.
"What does it do?" Fionna asked.
"Is it from the past?" Cake asked.
"My name is BMO!" BMO said probably because it was the first thing she thought of and she had to say it because everyone was saying something.
"Yeah, It's from the past. It allows me to access the internet when I'm in the past and I can write stories on here. I can also video chat, play games, shop, search, learn, teach, communicate- a lot of stuff." I explained, ignoring Marshall.
"It is dangerous." He said.
"What is your damage with my stuff?" I yelled.
"It controls this world, that isn't natural!" He yelled back.
"It controls Aaa?" Fionna inquired.
"And the people in it." Marshall told her.
"Can I try?" Cake asked.
"No one is trying!" Marshall stated.
"OH, why not? It'll be fine! Just one thing." I said, handing my laptop to Cake.
"You wouldn't let me!" Marshall whined.
"That is because you irresponsible, reckless, and you. Besides I like Cake, Fionna, and BMO better than you!" I said, sticking out my tongue.
"How does this work?" Cake asked.
I scotched next to her and typed in my password and showed her the page. "You type what you want to happen. For instance-"
It started raining gumballs.
As if by magic the rain turned into a rainbow of hard, round gum. All marveled at this. I tried acting like it was no biggie and I totally understood it, but I don't think I did a good job. Yet I still didn't' care. I had a freaking power!
"It isn't working for me." Cake said.
Lord M came and whisked Cake away to a picnic.
Hmmm. Sweet. "Dunno." I shrugged.
"Maybe only humans can write on it. I couldn't either." Marshall said.
"When did you-"
"When you weren't looking." He smirked.
"How do you know my p-"
"Saw you type it in."
"Stupid, idiot, menaie, rude, inconsiderate-" I grumbled under my breath.
"Let me try! Maybe Marshy is right." Fi suggested.
I handed her my laptop and she typed it up and shook her head.
"It wont work for me either." She said.
"It looks like it only works for you." Marshall stated.
My face went pale. ""You mean, only me?"
"Z?" Marshall asked. "You okay?"
"Maybe it's got something to do with our time differences? Like how your from the past and we're from the future."
"Maybe you're special?"
I looked at the floor. I'm the only one?
"Z? Xeeerrrooo?" Marshy called in a sing-song voice. "Did you finally crack?" He asked again.
I looked up and laughed. "I HAVE LIKE A FLUFFING SUPERPOWER! WHOO HOO!" I threw my arms up. "This is so cool!"
All Marshall did was slap his forehead with me still stupidly smiling.
The Master's Lair….
The mystic, foggy orb which held the visions of both the girl Ashley, the 'laptop', and this new human garbage played out for the master for his mind to plot his next move.
The Dark Prince was surrounded by mortals. Mortals were so weak and so boring. Too fragile to play with. Especially those humans. He'd thought the world was finally rid of those things. Of course the Fionna child still lived, it was the last of them. But another human popped up. He'd rid himself of that one too. In the end he'd rid himself of all light and of all mortals.
So none of this trivial information of who this human was, where it has come from, or why it was here mattered. It would be dead soon enough.
"It looks like it only works for you." The dark prince said.
The master returned his full attention to the orb. "WHAT?!" He growled.
If this human was the only one capable of accessing this power he needed it alive. At least for now, until he could figure out a way to accesses it on his own. Once he did that he could dispose of the garbage and the rest of the waste on this light-lit Gob forsaken world!
He had to tell his apprentice. There was a change of plans. And he did so hate it when things didn't go the way he desired.
Outside the Treehouse/ Ashley's Mind….
Ashley loved the observing. Until it got boring. Once she'd run out of threats in her mind and made a plan and fought in her head she was done and ready for action! Sadly, this plan was different. How was she gonna get this kid away from everyone when he is the Gobdarned center of attention!
"Fudge!" She muttered under her breath. "Stop being so popular!" She hissed.
Why couldn't she have friends like that? Why was she unable to be with people? Marshall, Fionna, Cake, BMO, and that new kid….they're all so chummy. It made her sick. Her stomach literally turned in nausea. But it also set her heart ablaze in envy.
She wanted a friend. She wanted Marshall. But she didn't want him. No matter what she told herself, she was interested in the new mortal Marshall seemed to have befriended and gotten quite close to. Of course, he'd die in the end. They all would.
But…they all look so happy. Real friends. Maybe one day she could have friends like that. Maybe-
Wait! NO! Eyes on the prize! The laptop! THE LAPTOP! If this kid kept getting in the way of her mission she'd have to kill him. It would be too soon. No time for fun. But the mission came first.
Right. She had to stay focused. No time for fun. No matter how much glorious torture she could inflict on him. No matter how tempting. Marshall didn't work out as a pet, but maybe a mortal would be better anyway. Yes. Fun awaited her. Just as long as she completed her mission.
Suddenly there was heavy pain in her head. As if her skull was about to burst open. A ringing sound in her ears and suddenly Ashley felt her conciseness slip away from her.
Crap. It is happening again. The Calling.
She was floating. She liked this part. She wore a white dress, which flowed all around her. Her long hair swirling in majesty. She was submerged in the coolness of water. No sound. Peace. She smiled.
Then.
A shock. A change. She hated this part. She was thrown at the feet of her master. A firry pit of anger. Hot, hate, despair, fear, the air's stench almost unbearable it made her want to retch. She may not have been naked, but she felt like it. So she attempted to cover herself. She sat on the ground and looked pathetic and vulnerable.
"I have a new mission for you." The voice growled.
"Master?"
"Not only do I want the laptop, I want the human as well. For certain purposes. Bring me both! And make it quick."
"Of course, MI 'lord. But do you request him alive?"
"Alive enough to steal its secrets. By all means, have fun. Just so long as it can breathe and talk I shall be satisfied."
"Thank you, Ml'lord! I shall not fail you! I promise!"
Then it all faded away. For a moment there was that horrid pain. The ringing, the fading, the screaming, the hurting-
But it was worth it.
Because for just another second longer she was able to submerse herself again and cool herself. Even if it only lasted a second, it was enough.
