Like most rivals in the world at one point of time Ash and Gary were the best of friends. "Like brothers" Professor Oak would comment when he saw them playing together outside the lab. But soon the friendship became bitter and fights become frequent and then they became rivals instead of friends. But what could make to friends change so quickly? This like others started with a girl. Daisy Oak, the older sister of Gary whom Ash had a serious crush on. It all started like another day in Pallet Town Mrs. Ketchem had gone out and Professer Oak was happy to watch after the little rascals for her. Gary had been exicted to show Ash his new pokemon stuff when his sister came out. Ash's eyes winded and shined. "You never told me you had a sister" Ash said. Gary rolled his eyes. "That's not a sister thats a monster" Gary joked. Daisy approched the two. "Now Gary you know you love me" Daisy told him. Gary coughed. "Dream on" While Daisy asked. "Who's this cutie?" Refering to Ash. Gary looked over at Ash and almost barfed. "The name's Ash Ketchem" Ash told her proudly. Daisy smiled and Gary rolled his eyes. "Don't you have some training to be doing oh wonderful pokemon trainer?" Gary mocked saracascily. "Your a pokemon trainer?" Ash asked. Daisy smiled. "Yes I am want to see my pokemon?" Daisy asked. Ash nodded as his head and she showed him her Clefairy and Ash looked in amazment. "Wow" "Wow" Gary mocked behind Ash's back. "Look Daisyhead Ash and me have things to do" Gary interuptted. Dragging Ash away as Ash dreamily watched Daisy from behind.
"Are you always so mean to her?" Ash asked when they were out of sight. "Of course its in the little brother book of being a annoying pain" Gary responded. "Your sister is pretty cool" Ash said. Gary rolled his eyes. "Yeah and I'm going to be a great trainer someday" Gary muttered. "Look is something bothering you?" Ash asked. Gary faked a smile. Not at all Gary thought bitterly. "Look Ash do you have any idea what its like?" Gary shouted. Ash gave him a strange look and Gary countained. "I had everything I ever loved ever cared about taken from at a young age you have everything Ash so why are you trying taking something away from me?" Gary screamed. Ash stood in sliance for a moment then spoke. "Your jealousy of me?" Ash asked then started to laugh. Which Ash reacived a full blow to the face the two started to fight and all the emotions and anger Gary had was taken out on Ash. And then ever since that day they were rivals in everything. From daily tasks to eventually pokemon. Where the comptation only grew and grew.
