Chapter 2 - The Dogs' Mansion and Carter's Venture
The next day at the Tiny Tots Preschool, Stewie looked down in despair instead of playing with his friends. Olivia Fuller couldn't help but notice.
"Are you okay, Stewie?" she asked.
"No, I'm not," Stewie answered. "Brian and Vinny, my two dogs, have recently moved out of our house and decided to live in a mansion. They've just become DecaMillionaires."
"So, they've won $10 MILLION from the Writers Sweeping Home," Penelope, Olivia's rival, guessed. "I guess they're probably swimming in a pool full of chocolate ice cream."
"Don't listen to Penelope, Stewie," Olivia dismissed. "She doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. Penny, dogs like Brian and Vinny can't eat chocolate. They'd die if they do that."
"When dogs like Brian and Vinny are rich, they can pay other people to die for them," Penelope replied. Turning to Stewie, she continued, "I bet they wouldn't need you anymore, Stewart."
"No, Penelope," Stewie disagreed. "B-ry and Vin aren't like that. They'd still be my friends no matter what happens to them."
Penelope crossed her arms. "You're wrong, Stewie," she replied. "The rich are different than you and me. And I take it you and your family were rich before, and look where it led you."
This prompted Stewie to recall the events from Season 10 Episode 1, "Lottery Fever".
A few days later, at the mansion he shared with Brian, Vinny sat in a sofa, bored.
"Well," he began, "I drank from my water dish and ate from my food dish. Now what?"
"Master Vincenzo," the butler addressed, coming in, "your brother has returned from his tennis game."
"Send him in, Jarvis," Vinny requested.
Jarvis did what Vinny asked him, and with a couple claps, Brian came in, wearing his gym clothes.
"Hey, Vin," Brian greeted. "My personal trainer, Tina, says that my serve is getting real formidable. So, what do you say we head on over to the pet store and buy more chew toys?"
"Actually," Vinny replied, "I think we have enough chew toys there is."
Pause.
"Hey, I have an idea," Brian suddenly brightened. We should call Peter and Lois and see what our friends are up to."
"That's a great idea, B," Vinny replied, happily. "It's a good thing our mansion has a playroom where Stewie can go."
The next day, Peter drove his station wagon on the way to the mansion after picking Meg, Chris and Stewie up. Lois was sitting on the front passenger seat.
"I dunno, Lois," Peter said, unsure. "I'm just afraid I'll use the wrong spoon or something."
"Honey, they're our dogs," Lois replied. "It doesn't matter what spoon you're going to use."
"Money can change people, Lois."
"Peter, don't be ridiculous." No sooner did she reply that, she saw the mansion in awe. "Wow. Are you sure this is the place?"
"Yeah," Peter replied. "Look at the plaque."
Lois did so.
"H. Brian and V. Antonio Griffin, esquire," she read.
"Antonio?" Peter repeated.
"I didn't think Vinny had a middle name," Lois replied.
"Maybe he bought one, Mom," Chris guessed.
Peter pulled the station wagon over to the front gate and tapped the knocker. Afterwards, Jarvis opened it from the inside.
"That sure doesn't look like either Brian or Vinny," Meg whispered into Chris' ear.
"Of course not," Chris whispered back. "That's their butler."
"Please come in," Jarvis requested. "Masters Brian and Vincenzo have been expecting you."
The Griffins went in.
"So, I slipped the President a few bills," Brian addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, who were visiting, "and then I said to her, 'Just think of Vinny and I as concerned citizens.'"
The two dogs noticed their owners come in.
"Peter, Lois, Megan, Christopher and Stewart," Vinny greeted. "Brian and I have been expecting you. Please sit down."
"Thanks," Peter replied as they sat on the sofa.
"Jarvis," Brian began, "can you please take young Stewart up to the playroom?"
"As you wish, Master Brian," Jarvis nodded as Lois handed Stewie to him.
"Jarvis is a wonder with kids," Vinny informed the other four as the butler carried Stewie upstairs.
"So, nice place, boys," Lois complimented.
"It sure is," Brian replied.
"I'm afraid that Brian and I have paid a bit much for it," Vinny added, "but you know how these things are."
Chris chuckled nervously.
"Guys, I must show you my new glass alligator," Brian suggested, walking to the giant glass ornament between the two sofas. "It's custom-made."
Inside the playroom, Stewie and Olivia were busy playing with the hybrid gaming system that Vinny bought for the room.
"Boy, Olivia, I have to tell you," Stewie gestured, "those dogs of mine sure do know how to please kids like us."
"Yeah, Stewie," Olivia agreed, "they sure do."
"Well," Penelope said, coming in and getting their attention, "I have to give those dogs of yours credit, Stewart. They did okay for themselves."
"Oh," Olivia regarded, crossing her arms. "Hello, Penelope."
"Really?" Stewie replied.
"Of course," Penelope answered. "I always thought they had something on the ball, and this proves it. I mean, their playroom has more toys than any of us."
"They do?" Stewie's eyes widened.
"Yes," Penelope replied. "What do you guys want to play?"
Back in the foyer, Carter Pewterschmidt, Lois' dad, who had already come in at the time, had joined Brian in a laugh at a joke Brian told.
"That's a good one, Brian!" Carter said. "Now, to business." With that, he pulled out his briefcase. "I'd like to show the two of you the prospectus on this venture. My company has this concept that's going to revolutionize oral hygiene in America. And I, for one, and get the two of you in on the ground floor. Say hello to...the CroMaster!"
With that, he pulled out a yellow bowl-like devise with a strap and a hand pump. It was a prototype of the new CroMaster.
"What does it do?" Vinny asked.
"I'm glad you asked, Vincenzo," Carter replied. "It will spray powder on the wearer's speed bag after they take their baths."
"Daddy, are you sure this is okay to share with my dogs?" Lois asked.
"Of course it is, my little Lolo," Carter answered. "It's the least I could do for them since they're rich."
