The Fifth Kazekage burst through the double door of the hospital with his usual impassive expression on his face as his emerald eyes narrowed into slits before walking ahead. The doctors and nurses knwe better than to get in the way of their cold leader because the anger of the red haired man isn't something they pray to fall on their heads so carefully, they try not to even stand in his way as they go about in their business.

He went down a long hallway to the left, his gourd bouncing slightly on his back as he moved. Taking a sharp turn to the left again, he came to a stop in front of a brown door which he opened to reveal another hallway with two doors on each side but his sight was on the first one by the right.

The door that hid something he had to see urgently, prompting him to leave in the middle of a council meeting.

The walk to it took like forever, though in reality it was merely a few seconds. He swallowed a lump, trying to dismiss the nervousness and eagerness that welled up within him. His hand took hold of the knob, twisted it and entered.

Temari and Kankuro turned to him as the door opened. A tall, blond doctor with a small scar by his temple was also in the ward with them. He stopped the checkup he was performing on a woman unconscious in the bed beside him and greeted Kazekage but Gaara didn't answer or looked at him-or anyone for that matter-because his whole attention gaze was fixed on the last person in the ward.

The person being a kohl-haired, comatose woman who laid on the bed in front of him. Her skin looked exceedingly pale, almost sickening. Bandages were wrapped around her entire body, leaving just her small face-that a tube was placed between her pale lips-and her right arm-which an IV was connected to her skin-to be visible.

Yet, Gaara-and his elder siblings-recognized who it is. Or the person it is supposed to be.

That person-woman, the word held a distaste on his mouth-is the one and only Uchiha Sasuke, the last of the great Sharingan clan-that is if you ignore the one eye Sharingan that Hatake Kakashi has.

But this is where he's flummoxed.

See, Uchiha Sasuke died a year ago, from the injures he got after him and Naruto killed Madara Uchiha-his supposedly dead ancestor. For four good month, Naruto mourned the loss of his best friend. He blamed himself greatly for not saving his precious person, for letting the one he so much wanted to see him become the Hokage-just as he had always say-die. It took tremendous efforts and patience from everyone to make the Jinchuriki stop moping over the death of his best friend and take up the hat of the Hokage as the Seventh.

But the Fifth Kazekage has a feeling he is still mourning the Uchiha's death deep down in his heart.

Selfish bastard. Gaara clutched his hands into fists. He managed to cheat death just because he wanted to live forever, exactly like that ancestor of his. Or better yet, all Uchihas are like that. They think they're so superior and that they should be the one to rule the world. Gaara scoffed mentally. Such wretched race.

He lifted his eyes to his siblings who start explaining the situation. "She was found in a pretty bad state just outside the village by three shinobis who were coming back from a mission last night." Temari said. "Her entire body was covered with bruises and wounds and quite a lot of fractures to accompany in which Ihari says it'd take her a month at least to be able to move."

Gaara tilted his head a bit to the blond doctor's direction who took it as an affirmation to speak.

"She has three broken ribs, four fractures in her left arm, a fractured femur, few tore tissues that cause some inner bleeding and a heavy blow on her head that i'm hoping will not cause her memory lost." Ihari's eyes skimmed over the clipboard he is holding before saying something that shocked the Sand siblings. "And she's has been violently raped. Quite a lot, to be exact."

Questions filled the head of Gaara, questions that no one only the person lying on the bed can answer and he has to wait until she wakes up.

But patience isn't exactly one of Gaara's thing.

"Also," The doctor spoke, break through Kazekage's thought. "There is a small amount of chakra in her system but I don't think it'd have been enough to tend off her attacker, or attackers.".

Not that he needs to, Gaara mused. He has always been an outstanding ninja, the one of the best Konoha has to offer other than the Seventh Hokage and as far as anyone can tell, he's the only one that can hold a fight with the Jinchuriki's in his full rage. Not even him can fight against the last Uchiha in his full power, he begrudgingly admit.

That's just a point in his long list of why he hates the Uchiha.

"When she will she wake up?" He asked in his usual emotionless tone.

"I can't say, Kazekage-sama. She hasn't opened her eyes since she was brought in." Ihari said.

"When she finally does, let me be the first to know, and i don't want you to breathe a word of this to anyone, is that clear?" He ordered, addressing everyone in the room who nodded quickly nod in respond.

Casting a last withering glare to an unconscious Sasuke, Gaara exist the ward with his stoic mask fixed in place, and his two elder siblings two feet behind him. To say he was confused by the Uchiha's presence in Suna-of all places-would be an understatement of the year. He doesn't understand why he'd come here where he isn't that liked when he knows that Konoha is more of a safety haven for him. Something just isn't right somewhere. And if it's some sick twisted game that Sasuke is playing which can affect his village greatly, oh, he's going to wish he's never been born by the time he is done with him.

Two weeks and three days later, Uchiha Sasuke is still in coma.

Gaara patiently waited for him to wake up though he didn't tell anyone about him being alive-save from his siblings who found out themselves-but not because he doesn't want to, but it's because one person who is called Naruto.

The idiot will probably run here when he hears that his best friend, his precious person is still alive and welcome him back with open arms to Konoha. Now that's not something he wants. At least until he knows the reason the Uchiha disappeared for a year and the evil scheme he have been plotting. He loves Naruto and he isn't ready to see Sasuke hurt his best friend again hence he keeps it a secret.

Also, he tighten the security in Suna, telling his shinobis to take account of everyone entering the village and study them carefully. He's taking precaution now so he would be ready for any attack the last Uchiha has to surprise him.

Though there has been nothing throughout the two weeks, everything is relatively peaceful.

Currently in his office, he is sorting through the tons of paperworks that were submitted on his desk were his office door opened. Gaara couldn't help the small sigh of relief that escaped his lips when his sister entered. Kami knows he could really use a good distraction now from this monstrous paperworks.

A smile twitched on the lips of Temari but she didn't say a word. She closed the door behind softly her and said the news that brought her here. "He's awake."

Already, Gaara knew who she is talking about and he wouldn't lie of the eagerness and exciting that's welling up within him. Finally, he thought and got up from his seat. Finally he'll get some answers to his questions.
