The two mages screamed their heads off as they plunged through the dark portal. It was cold, and there was nothing for quite awhile. Then Lucy started to feel her face freezing up, and suddenly realized her whole body was freezing and she couldn't move a muscle.

"Natsu! Can't mo-mmph!" She yelled, although that was all she could get out before her mouth was shut tight. She was scared. She couldn't hear Natsu, so he must've been frozen too.

It was miserable. Lucy felt scared. Scared and alone. It was just her, being plunged through darkness, frozen and not being able to move. Not being able to escape, and not being able to think...or breath. She was so scared that she had no idea she was being plunged through time. She was skipping the years that they were passing by, missing. And because she was going through time, she couldn't move, since it would take time to do anything. It would take time to talk, to breath, to think. When you were going through time and skipping years, all the things that you could do that would take time would have to stop, or else Telema's magic wouldn't be able to work.

But Lucy didn't know that. She had no idea what was going on. Her heart even stopped beating. And she began to forget where she was, eyes open, staring blankly and looking lifeless, as if she were dead.

Then, after what seemed like forever, there was a small opening that appeared, light filling the pitch black gap. Lucy's heart slowly started beating again, and even though she had to force it, she could blink her eyes. As they got closer to the gap, which was getting bigger, she could then move her arms, then her legs.

Lucy looked around, and with relief caught sight of a flash of spikey-pink hair in the distance.

"Natsu!"

Hearing Lucy's voice, Natsu's eyes flashed wide open, and slowly turned his head, then body, forcing himself to move and speak. "Lucy!"

They both floated towards each other in the dark hole, and finally being able to grab each other's hands. And as the light got bigger and the gap in the portal got larger, the two began to fall faster, holding onto each other and screaming wildly. Before they could even comprehend, Natsu and Lucy both were flying out of the hole, through the air, and into the trees below.

Grunting from hitting the ground so hard, Natsu sat up and scratched his head. "That stupid hole had to spit our asses right out of the sky, didn't it? It couldn't get closer to the ground where it wouldn't hurt so bad-"

"Natsu, would you quit complaining and help me!?" Lucy's voice called from above him. He looked up, and there she was, hanging from a tree branch by the skirt.

"Oh, sorry Luce," Natsu jumped up, grabbing his friend and helping her down.

"Thanks," Lucy brushed herself off and pulled a twig from her hair.

"So, uhhh..." Natsu's gaze drifted all around the forest they were stranded in. "Where are we?"

"I'm not so sure..." Lucy admitted, "But we need to be super careful. That Telema woman could show up out of nowhere and try to kill us."

Natsu's fist burned with fire as he held it up. "Let her come! I'll give her so much of a burn, she could call it a permanent tattoo!"

Rolling her eyes, Lucy walked around. "That's what you tried to do last time, idiot..." She muttered.

"Alright, lady!" He pointed a finger to the sky. "Come out! Let me burn your skin!"

"Natsu, shut up!" Lucy bonked him on the head with her fist. "You really think we're gonna get back to the guild by burning her? We need to talk to her!"

He stared at her blankly. "Oh sure, let's do that Luce! Let's ask a dark wizard who just threw us to the future or whatever to take us back!"

She was about to argue when she paused with realization. "Wait...we are in the future. I wonder how far we're into it though..."

Immediately, Natsu jumped up, seeming to forget about what happened. "Hey! I wonder how my future self looks! Wouldn't it be great to meet him? We could do our fire magic and see who's the strongest!"

Lucy's eyes lit up. That was it! She threw herself around Natsu. "Natsu, you're a genius!"

He blinked down at her in confusion. "I am?"

"Yes!" She squealed, pulling away from him and staring up at him with gleaming eyes. "We'll find the future Fairy Tail! They can help us get back! I'm sure they know of this Telema Time mage!"

Natsu then grew a huge grin on his face, crossing his arms and raising his head up proudly. "I guess I am a genius!"

"Great!" She grabbed his hand and began to pull him along. "Come on!"

"Wait, Luce!" Natsu stopped himself. "We have no clue where we're going. We're stranded in the middle of a forest."

Lucy blinked. Had he really thought ahead of her for once? That was unusual. She must have been going crazy. "You're right...we have no idea where we are! What do we do now?"

He thought for a second before suddenly grinning. "I got it!" He began to sniff the air for awhile, concentrating hard. Then, he must have picked up something, as his head popped up and motioned for Lucy to follow him as he ran. "This way, Luce!"

Lucy ran after him. "Oh yeah, I forgot you can smell things from miles away. What do you smell?"

"Something good," Natsu replied, licking his lips. "Like chicken!"

The blonde couldn't help but giggle. "Right, and chicken isn't going to be in the middle of a forest, so there has to be a town somewhere..."

After awhile of running, Natsu's grin widened. "It's getting stronger! We're close!"

Hope washed over Lucy knowing that they wouldn't be stranded for much longer. Maybe in this town there would be mages that knew of the mage that had sent them here and they could help them get back to their present time.

The sound of townspeople chattering filled up the two's ears, and as they scrambled through some bushes, they found themselves in a town with tons of people everywhere. And the town looked strangely familiar...

"Natsu...this is Hargeon!" Lucy exclaimed. Even if the town had changed over the years, it still looked just the same.

"Oh yeah, that town where I kicked that weird Bora guy's ass and met you!" Natsu remembered, continuing to walk around.

Everything looked so different as the mages walked around the town they had recognized so well. The shops changed, and there were a lot more people walking around. The walkway and sidewalks were painted whiter, and more bridges were built all around. It was definitely Hargeon, but better!

"Natsu, we can take the train to the Fairy Tail Guild! Like we did before!" Lucy reminded him with excitement. She was so happy to at least be around people and not stuck in the middle of a forest, in the future or not.

Natsu cringed, covering his mouth and gagging. "Uh, yeah...can we eat first?" Obviously, he wasn't too happy with the train idea.

"Sure," Lucy sighed. If it would make him feel better then it was worth it. The two were surprised to find the restaurant they had first ate at together, where Lucy had to use 1,000 of her jewel to buy him and Happy food. Immediately they rushed in and sat at one of the tables.

Lucy didn't really want anything. She just ordered Natsu some chicken.

She laughed as she watched Natsu shove the chicken in his mouth. "Hey, slow down! There's no rush!"

"I'm starvin!" Natsu managed to reply through the mouthful he had. He was finished in a flash.

"Okay," Lucy reached into her purse, "I'm gonna pay. Ready to go?"

"Wait," The boy looked around, "Where's their bathroom?"

Lucy sighed and pointed to the corner in the back. "There."

"Cool, be back in a sec," Natsu rushed to the corner Lucy pointed to.

Lucy looked around. The restaurant definitely changed; tables were set up differently, new colors on the walls. Everything looked so different, but still the same. Exactly how far into the future did Telema send them? Lucy knew one thing: however far, the had to find the future Fairy Tail.

But how? What if they changed the location of their guild hall?

Lucy shot up as she heard a voice from behind her.

"Mom...?"

The voice was quiet, shaky. As if the person it belonged to couldn't believe their eyes. Slowly, Lucy turned around, and saw that behind her was a small girl. She had long hair that was brought down her back, and her dark black eyes searched Lucy's.

The girl's expression looked surprised and hopeful. Her mouth hung open. Then as Lucy stared the girl down, she realized something that absolutely made her heart stop.

Her hair. The girl's hair, was in fact the same shade of pink as Natsu's. And as far as Lucy knew, no one had Natsu's hair.
