Flowers grew lovely and lavishly on her backyard. In spring she would watch them for hours, as insects floated in the gentle breeze delighted with their nectars.
She loved flowers.
That was until she was trapped on a hospital bed, with limited movements, watching their beautiful colors fade away and die. They never lasted and the irony was evident, if she was stuck motionless for another day, her bored brain might just follow their lead and perish with each fallen petal.
Then, he entered the room with a long-term plant in his hands and a brilliant smile on his lips.
