Chapter two: A thief lost in time

Three year ago…

Leonard Snart didn't know how he ended up in the desert. He, for sure, thought he had died but he didn't. He was found by a man name Rick O'Connell, an American, and his French Legion buddies. After asking some questions he found out that he was in 1923 and in Egypt. The French Legion were on a mission and they were in the middle of the desert so they brought him along with them. Leonard would have left a long time ago but he was out in the middle of the desert and had no way of getting back to civilization. A few days later they had found what they were looking for; Hamunaptra, the city of the dead. The moment Leonard step foot in the city he had a bad feeling about the place.

They have made camp but after a few days of digging they were being attack by an army of Arabs. Leonard only joined the fight because Rick had asked him to help and he had owned him. He hated being in debt to someone.

"If I actually do die because of this, remind me to kill you." Leonard said as he position his gun towards the Arabs. Wishing that he his cold gun.

"Got it, Snart." Rick smirked

Just as the army of Arabs was a couple hundred feet away from them the leader of the legion ran away.

"You gotta be kidding me." Leonard rolled his eyes

"You just got promoted." Beni said to Rick

Leonard knew his type and didn't trust him at all. Rick rolled his eyes and yelled everybody orders. When the army got closer Beni showed his coward side and flee too.

"You owe me fifty bucks, if we survive this, Rick." Leonard said sarcastically; he knew the little guy was a coward.

"Ready!" Rick yelled

When the army was a couple feet closer he gave the command to fire. They took down a few and so did the Arabs. When the Arabs crossed the wall everyone started to run away and shoot. Rick and Leonard calmly ran and reloaded their riffles. When they were out of those they used their pistols as they back away. Leonard managed to save Rick's life when an Arab came at him. It wasn't long until they were completely out of bullets that they started running to the temple as the Arabs started chasing them. Then they saw Beni running towards the big stone doorway.

"Run Beni, run!" Rick yelled "Get inside. Get inside."

They were almost safe until Beni started to close the door on them.

"Hey! You little Bastard, don't close that door!" Leonard yelled

Beni closed the door completely leaving them for dead.

"I'm gonna kill him." Leonard muttered

"This way, come on." Rick said

They ran around the temple as they tried to avoid being caught and shot at. They jumped, ran and dodge bullets till they reached a dead end. The two sighed and turned around to face their deaths. The Arab cocked their guns and aimed at them but they stopped. They notice the statue behind the Americans and could sense something off. Their horses got skittish and ran off; leaving the two there. When they left Leonard and Rick started to hear strange whispers. They then looked behind them and saw the statue of Anubis. Then other noises were heard and the sand started to shift. That's when they decided to run without even looking at it. The Arabs army had left after seeing the place is cursed and Leonard and Rick were not too far behind them. But they stopped when they heard some horse noise from above the cliffs. They turned and looked up to see a few men in black clothes watching everything. Not wanting to deal with it they just continued on walking.

Present…

After looking over at the map Kagome and Evy were believed it was Hamunaptra. They have showed the Curator the map but he wasn't convinced at all. Then as they argue the curator had the map close to a fire lit candle. He had set it on fire and burned half of the city. So seeing that they had no choice Kagome told Jonathan to tell them who he stole the box from. The man caved when Kagome gave him her famous glares. He stole it from some guy in a bar. Now the man and his partner are now being held in prison. They were escorted through the gallows courtyard by the warden.

"Come, come! Step over the threshold." The warden invited Evy, Jonathan and Kagome into the prison. "Welcome to Cairo Prison, my humble home!"

"You told me you found it on a dig down in Thebes!" Evy said to Jonathan

"I was mistaken." He said

"You lied to me! To us!" She tells him.

"I knew he was lying from the beginning Evy. He lies to everyone, what should make us special?" Kagome smirked

"Well I'm his sister." Evy said

"That just makes you more gullible." Jonathan said

Kagome just chuckled.

"You stole if from a drunk at the local Casbah!" Evy glared

"Picked his pocket, actually." Jonathan corrected her and tried to turn them around to leave. "So I don't think it's a very good idea…"

"Stop being so ridiculous." Evy said turning back and asked the warden. "Now, what exactly are these men in prison for?"

"Well one is here thievery; he stole the royal family cash and jewelry. The only reason we were able to catch him because of his friend that's here now. The other one, his friend, I'm not that sure. But when I heard that you were coming, I asked him that myself." The warden said

"What did he say?" Kagome asked

"He said…he was just looking for a good time." The warden said

The cell door opened and four guards dragged two men in chains to the visitor pen. One was had long brown hair with blues eyes and a scraggly beard. The other man was who caught Kagomes attention. He had dark black-brown hair and blue eyes two but there was something about him that looked familiar. It wasn't long till she finally recognized him. About two years ago she saw him coming to the museum a lot. It got her specious and one night she stopped him from robbing them.

Leonard was able to break in the museum with easy. He's been staking this place for a month and has learned every inch of this place; not to mention the woman work schedule that works here at times. He normally doesn't like distraction but there was something about her that he couldn't keep his mind off of her. Reaching the area he needed to be he found the diamond he was looking for. Before he could reach it a blade was placed under throat.

"I thought there was something sneaky about you." A woman voice said

He turned to the side and saw that it was Kagome; that was holding a sword. For some reason this seemed like déjà vu. Suddenly he saw her in Egyptian clothing for a second before turning back to normal. Kagome looked over Leonard and noticed something on his wrist that made her raised a brow.

"Its' called a watch, sweetheart." Leonard smirked when he notice her staring.

"A digital watch. They won't be invited for another 47 years. And yours is more fancy looking so it's somewhere from the 21st century, I believe." Kagome said

"How do you know that?" Leonard asked as he looked at her curiously

"Because I'm from modern time myself. Kagome Higurashi, 1998." Kagome said

"Leonard Snart, 2016." He said amazement

"You." Kagome said

"Hello to you too, sweetheart. Miss me?" Leonard smirked and winked at her

"You know this man, Kagome?" Evy asked

"Unfortunately." Kagome sighed

She had let him go that night and haven't told anyone about it.

"Who are you?" Rick asked "And who are the broads?"

"Broads!" Evy exclaimed

"Well…I'm just a local sort of missionary chap, spreading the good word." Jonathan nervously lied "But this is my sister Evy and her friend Kagome."

"How do you do?" Evy greeted with nervous

"Oh well. Guess they're not a total loss." Rick said

Evy was stunned and furious but Kagome wasn't offended. During her time in the past she had heard worst from a lot of guys that were threaten by her professional and smart. The warden started to yell at someone and told them that he'll back in a moment.

"Can't wait for your return warden." Leonard said sarcastically

One of the guards clubbed him and Kagome could see that he was used to this. She had a feeling that this wasn't his first prison.

"Ask him about the box?" Jonathan asked Kagome

"Um, my friends and I have found your puzzle box and we've come to ask you about it." She said to the men.

"You gotta be kicking me. You came here to ask us about Hamunaptra." Leonard said

Evy and Jonathan quickly looked around, hoping the guards didn't hear him. The three of them step closer to the pen.

"How do you know the box pertains to Hamunaptra?" Evy asked

"Because that's where we found it. We were there." Rick explained

Evy and Kagome were surprised to hear that.

"How do we know that's not a load of pig swallow?" Jonathan asked

Rick and Leonard seemed to recognize him a little as he got closer to them.

"Hey…don't I know you?" Rick asked

"Oh…no…I'm got one of those faces…" Jonathan said

"Rick, he's the guy that pick pocketed you." Leonard said

That's when Rick got mad and punched him in the jaw. Jonathan hits the floor and out cold. The guards clubbed the both of them and neither of them felt the pain. Evy and Kagome stepped over Jonathan and got closer to the bars.

"You two were actually at Hamunaptra?" Kagome asked

Leonard looked surprised that she was still talking to them.

"He just decked your friends' brother." He said

She just shrugged her shoulders.

"And? I've done that myself before. Besides knowing him he really deserved it." Kagome said

Leonard smirked

"Yeah we were there." He admits

"You swear?" Evy asked

"Every damn day." Rick said

"That's not what she means." Evy said

"I know what you two meant. We were there. Seti's place. City of the Dead." Rick confirms

"Could you tell us how to get there?" Kagome asked

"The exact location?" Evy asked

"You want to know?" Rick asked

They lean in closer.

"Yes." The girls said

"You really want to know?" Leonard asked

"Yes." They said again

They quester them to come closer and they both grabbed the women's face and kissed them. As much as Kagome wanted to slap Leonard, she actually liked it.

"Then get us the hell outta here!" Rick exclaims

The guards clubbed them harshly and picked them up to pull them away.

"Do it, lady!" Rick yelled

Leonard just winked at Kagome as they were being dragged out.

"Where are they taking him?" She asked

"To be hanged. Apparently the both of them had a very good time." The warden said as he came back

He and the girls headed to the gallows where hundreds of prisoners stare down as the hangman's noose is draped over Leonard's and Rick's neck.

"We'll give you one hundred pounds to spare their lives." Evy offed but Kagome knew that wouldn't work.

"Madame, I would pay one hundred pounds just to see them hang." The warden dismissed

"Two hundred pounds." She tried again

"Proceed!" The warden called out

Down below as one of the guard tighten the noose around their necks.

"Any last request, pigs?" He asked

"Yeah, why don't loosen the noose and let us go?" Leonard said

The guard told warned about his request and that just got him yelled at. Leonard rolled his eyes on how stupid the man was.

She tried again but the warden looked at her and placed a lecherous hand on Evy's leg and Kagome held on to her dagger. He tried to offer her something else but she quickly hit his hand away with her book. The prisoners saw this and laughed. That got the warden angry and ordered the Hangman to pull the lever.

"No!" Evy and I screamed

The hangman dropped them but they were still alive. The warden was amused and was going to let them hang there till they strangle to death. That's when Kagome and Evy had no choice but to tell him that Rick and Leonard knew where Hamunaptra was. It took some negotiation but when they were able to get a good price the warden had the hangman to cut them down.
