The next day Narcisse decided to stay away from the court for some days. He felt sad and tired. As soon as he woke up, he heard that someone was knocking on the door.
-"I don't want to see anyone today."
The knocking stopped and against his request the door opened slowly. A servant stood in front of him.
-"Excuse me, my lord. The queen mother sent me to tell you that..."
The servant was a bit frightened because of the look of Narcisse.
-"Tell me what? Come on, I don't have time for it all day."
-"Her majesty wants you to join her for dinner."
-"For dinner?"
-"Yes, my lord."
-"In the morning?"
The servant was looking down while he said.
-"It's late afternoon, my lord. Nobody knows about your arrival. For the command of the queen mother. And in this way, nobody was brave enough to wake you up earlier."
Narcisse stood up and walked to the window. It has just started to be dark.
-"Thank you boy. Go and tell her majesty that I would be there but I don't feel well."
The servant bowed and went out. Narcisse was all alone again. He went back to his bed and laid down.
-"Ahh, you returned."
She was excited. It's been a long time since she and Narcisse had been together.
The servant bowed as he entered Catherine's chambers.
-"Your majesty. Lord Narcisse refused your offer. He doesn't feel well."
Catherine was shocked but she covered it.
-"You can go."
The servant escaped from her chambers without thinking.
As soon as the door opened she sent away her servants, sat down and started to thinking. She couldn't understand this situation. He said he feels something for her before he went. And Lola isn't here anymore. Why doesn't he wants to be with her then? Her thoughts didn't let her do anything else.
Some hours later she decided to have dinner in her chambers. Alone. She felt betrayed again and doesn't wanted anyone to see her. The dinner was ready, the servants brought her everything she wanted for tonight. As soon as she sat down and touched the fork she heard steps behind her.
-"Something is missing from your table, isn't it?"
Catherine turned back.
-"Narcisse? You told my servant that you can't come."
-"Your servant told me nobody could harass me all day. For the command of the queen mother."
He was smiling at her and went closer. Catherine stood up and turned away from him.
-"I wanted you to recover as soon as it's possible. You had a long and dangerous trip here."
-"So nice from you. Thank you Catherine."
-"Is that all you wanted to tell me?" said Catherine.
-"In fact..."
He touched her shoulder and kissed her neck. He felt she enjoys it. He started to whisper.
-"I missed you, my queen."
Catherine was very nervous but these words made her heart melt. She let him continue. He turned her and looked in her eyes. She wanted to kiss him but he didn't let her.
-"Ohh, Catherine. You invited me for dinner, didn't you?"
-"This meal is only for one person. I thought..."
Narcisse put one of his fingers on her lips.
-"Shhh... Come."
He made Catherine to sat down to the table, touched the fork and knife, started to cut the meat and put it into Catherine's mouth. She let him feed her. When she finished her meal, she stood up and hugged him so tight.
-"I missed you too..."
Narcisse felt he mustn't go yet. He saw a glass of wine next to Catherine. He grabbed the glass and led Catherine to her bed.
-"Narcisse... What are you doing? I need my servants to undress me."
-"I am your faithful servant, Catherine."
He started with her corset and then he continued with her skirts. He finally finished with her undressing. Catherine was standing in front of him without clothes.
-"My robe please."
He gave it her with a glass of wine and then they sat down to the bed.
