The letter that the Weinermans received was from the mayor and chief of a Scottish town named Portree. The chief was inviting the whole family plus a guest to come to the town in the name of their late relative, great uncle Stuart Weinerman.

"Oh sweet, we are invited to a celebration!" said Howard

"It is a shame about uncle Stuart. But it seems that the people of this town really liked him. We should totally go there." said Mort Weinerman the father of Howard and Heidi.

"So what are we gonna do?" asked Heidi being a little suspicious.

"Well, we're going of course. This family could use a family vacation. Randy would you like to come along?" asked Mort

"I'm not sure, its in your family honor and everything." said Randy trying not to be rude

After the Weinermans received that letter, Randy stayed behind to see what was so fancy about it. But it seemed that like by a turn of fate he was going along for this Scottish adventure.

"Oh nonsense Randy, your almost part of the family. Besides someone's got to keep Howard and Heidi from killing each other." said Mort

"HEY!" said both of the Weinerman youngsters

"Although he does have a point." added Howard only to get slapped behind the head by Heidi

"Well, when you put it like that, I'll go ask my mom if that's alright." said Randy

"Sure you go do that." said Mort

Randy went to his house where his mom was currently talking on the phone with her latest client. Elizabeth Cunningham was an inside decorator and was the best one in all of Norresville. She was around her early forties and wore a pale blue shirt, beige pants and short heel shoes. She had curly purple hair and blue eyes similar to Randy.

"Yes Mr. Anderson, we can change the wall color for green, but that may clash with the curtains your mother-in-law got you. Alright, I'll see you on Thursday." said Elizabeth Cunningham hanging up the call.

"Hi mom, I'm home." said Randy

"Hi honey, how was school?" asked Randy's mom

"It was ok I guess. I was just at Howard's place and he and his family were just invited to Scotland for a party in their honor and they kinda want to drag me along. As crazy as it sounds." explained Randy

"It sounds a little fishy, but Mort and Heidi do seem to be in dire need of a vacation. I suppose you can go. On the sole condition that you tell me your girlfriend's name." said Elizabeth with a smile

"Oh, um what are you talking about mom? I don't have a girlfriend." said Randy trying to be sneaky.

"Young man you aren't fooling anyone. Is she someone that I know or someone I don't? What's her name?" asked Elizabeth

"You really aren't going to let this go are you?" asked Randy knowing he was beaten

Elizabeth looked at her son and slowly nodded. Randy sighed and then looked at his mom.

"Her name is Gothetta. I met her back in Transylvania before the black out." explained Randy

"Oh honey, that's all you had to say. I would love to meet her." said Elizabeth giving her son a kiss on the forehead

Randy entered his room and pulled out his duffle bag for the trip. He started to put some coats and clothes in it when something caught his eye. He turned and saw that the Ninjanomicon was glowing, which meant that the ancient book needed to speak to him. However, instead of the normal red colored light it was dark red almost blood colored. Randy rolled his eyes and picked up the book.

"This better be something important." said Randy as he sat on the floor crosslegged.

The ancient book opened up and shlooped Randy inside it. Randy went down until he found himself at the top of a mountain right next to where his master, Nobu the First Ninja, was meditating.

"Ah Randy, good of you to drop by." said Nobu

"It's good to see you sensei, but I have to ask; what's the problem this time?" asked Randy

The First Ninja pointed to the bottom of the mountain where two people were arguing. They both slid down and saw who were discussing. It was Plop Plop, the First Ninja's loyal friend, and Rosalyn, the vampire spirit. It turned out that Rosalyn's spirit was now living in the Ninjanomicon and from time to time she got into scuffles with the other spirits. It was annoying.

"For the last time woman, you cannot alter the ancient book to suit your needs." said Plop Plop

"Oh cry me a river, I only made one tiny spot to have more shade than usual. I have sensitive skin, even if that's not the real sun." said Rosalyn

"Can't you two just get along?" asked Randy cutting in the conversation

"Oh Randy finally, someone that's on my side. Please tell this one that I have a claim to a part of this book for my own self. Although I wouldn't mind a visit from time to time." said Rosalyn wrapping her arm around Randy

"Rosalyn, please. I thought we had an agreement? You could stay here as long as you three got along. There are dark areas in the Nomicon, you don't need to go and change others." said Randy

"But those woods creep me out. Plus, I get so bored. These two never want to do anything with me." said Rosalyn pointing at both Plop Plop and Nobu

"In our defense, stalk the prey in not fun when we are being hunted like animals." said Nobu

"Rosalyn, please try to play nice. You're no longer living on your own book." said Randy

"Fine, I'm sorry Plop Plop." said Rosalyn with a sigh

"Apology accepted." replied Plop Plop

"Thank you Randy, she seems to be more complacent when you speak to her." said Nobu with a bow

"No problem. If that's all I'll take my leave." said Randy as the sky suddenly turned pitch black.

They all looked to the sky and saw that the sun had been turned into a full silver colored moon with dark clouds surrounding it. Plop Plop then turned to Rosalyn with daggers in his eyes.

"Rosalyn." demanded Plop Plop

"This isn't my doing. The book has pretty good taste though." said Rosalyn looking at the moon

Just then words began to appear on the moon.

"Beware the Beasts that wear the skin of man, when the light of the moon shines bright."

Once the words were read out loud by Randy he began to think. This kind of wisdom was not very much like the usual kind that the Nomicon provided.

"What do you think it means?" asked Randy

"I have an idea, but you won't like it." said Rosalyn

"What, am I going to fight monsters again?" asked Randy

"Maybe, a ninja should remain alert at all times." said Nobu before Randy was sent out of the Ninjanomicon.

Randy found himself back in his room and proceeded to finish packing. Once he was finished with the packing he checked his phone for any new messages. He found one from Gothetta.

'Hope you have a great summer. Call me whenever you can. Missing you.'

Randy replied the text message before heading to bed for the long trip that he had in stored.
