I see you guys are liking the story so far, thank you all for the feedback. It inspired me to update, so here's the other chapter.
Oh, and if any of you guys are thinking why Dawn is so snotty and conceited, then I'll just tell you that's how I wanted her to be.
Here's the next chapter…don't own Pokemon and hope you guys enjoy.
Dawn sighed and closed her diary before putting it under her bed, but it was a little out. She started to think about her life again. Her mother was her closest friend before her marriage. She was even closer to Dawn than Leona, and Dawn loved that more than anything else. She barely got along with her father presently and there was no way that she could ever get along with May. Her love life was just nearly down the drain and now she has serious competition with Serena.
She hoped everything would get better and things would go her way.
May came out of the bathroom and handed her the dress to Dawn. "Thank you…next time, don't even try to look at this dress." Dawn said coldly as she put it in her closet. Dawn then went into the bathroom to change.
May sighed before walking across the room, before she stumbled and nearly tripped over something. "Huh?" She said to herself as she saw a pink book below her feet. She put her brown strands of hair behind her hair, puzzled and reached down to pick it up. It marked 'Dawn's Diary'. She gasped, unaware that Dawn had a diary. Staring at it more and more just made her want to rip it open, but that would be invading her sister's privacy.
Then again, what has Dawn ever done for her? Sometimes May considered her to be too nice to others. She was battling with herself whether to open it or not and was pondering. If she opened it Danw found out, that would be the end of her life. But if she opened it and Dawn didn't find out, then May would find out why Dawn's acting this way. When she decided she would open it, Dawn came out of the bathroom and May hid the book behind her back so she wouldn't notice.
Dawn wouldn't notice anyway as she was too busy not noticing her. She then plunked upon the bed before going off to a deep slumber. May then sighed a breath of relief before going on to her bed to read Dawn's diary. "Sorry, Dawn, but I'm doing this to help you. I don't want you to hate me and I just want to know why you hate me so much." As she read a few pages, it practically answered her questions immediately. May understood Dawn's situation…it was hard to adjust to a new life, but it still didn't cover up the fact that Dawn should hate her and treat her so badly.
Then, she read about Ash. She knew about Dawn's crush on Ash, but she didn't know that she was that obsessed with Ash. Dawn couldn't speak to Ash? She was in a very critical situation. Then she eventually read about Serena. "Ohh…so that's Serena.." She said to herself.
She closed the book, deciding to not read any more. She decided that she would help Dawn-to get Ash. And maybe Dawn would finally realize how genuine May was towards her. She then put it under Dawn's bed and went back to sleep.
The next day at school was actually going in Dawn's favour, because Ash had actually talked to her.
"Hey I heard what happened. You alright?" Ash asked as Dawn took out some books from her lockers. Dawn widened her eyes, she was shocked. Was Ash really talking to her?
"Y-Yeah, I-I'm fine….why?" Dawn quivered. She even attempted to hide her face, but his face was so intimidating that she couldn't look away. Those brown eyes really got to her.
"I was worried about you yesterday, I mean you were cheering for me and then you fainted." Ash said. That caught Dawn's attention.
"You noticed me?" She slightly blushed. Ash chuckled.
"Yeah…not at first though, afterwards when you were cheering with this other girl, Leona." He smiled and Dawn smiled as well.
"Heh, you're a really good basketball player and you're very good at home runs." Ash laughed.
"Do you mean 'three point shots'?" Ash asked. Dawn face-palmed and silently cursed in her mind. She couldn't believe she embarrassed herself again. She finally was talking to Ash and she made a fool of herself once again.
"Relax, Dawn, I know you're not that acquainted with sports." Ash continued chuckling. Dawn sighed.
"Yeah. Hey, can I ask you a question?" She asked, shyly, while looking down.
"Sure." He said.
"Do you…like…Serena?" She asked, waiting for his reply. He stared at her for a while, which made Dawn slightly blush for a while.
"I don't know." He shrugged.
"Oh." Dawn plainly said.
"I mean, I really don't know. I don't really know much about her so I can't really say anything about her. She asked me out for coffee yesterday, but I refused afterwards because I saw that you had fainted." Dawn cooed hearing that, silently at least. She also squealed inside because it was confirmed that Ash and Serena weren't going out. So that means she still had a chance. She smiled.
"What's wrong?" Ash broke her spell.
She flinched, "Oh, umm nothing, ohh look at the time I must be going now, seeya!" She ran off to her class, leaving a bewildered Ash.
"That was weird; we still had a couple minutes before homeroom." Ash said to no one in particular before walking more across the halls.
Dawn giggled to herself and sighed happily as she sat down in her chair and began day-dreaming again. Leona waved at her.
"Ok, something must've happened to put you in such a good mood." Leona said.
"Ash finally talked to me! And I talked back…we are so getting married. What do you think I should name our three children?" Dawn asked. Leona face-palmed.
"Dawn! You're already thinking about that? First, complete high school, then marry Ash." Leona said.
"Ughh, when did you turn into my wife?" Leona just rolled her eyes and Dawn giggled.
"I'm just planning for the future. It's never too early, you know." She winked.
"I like this new Dawn, she's much more confident." Leona said.
"Me too, maybe I can talk to Ash without embarrassing myself." Dawn said.
"Yeah, that'll happen." Leona said sarcastically. Dawn glared at her before they laughed together.
After a while, homeroom commenced, where the week's events were told to the students and then class officially began. Then class had officially started, Dawn's first class was History. Dawn HATED this class, she thought it was very boring and uninteresting. And it made it worse when it was taught by an uninteresting teacher. Seriously, Dawn considered rocks to be more interesting than Ms. Locks.
"Okay class…now's the time for a project to do together." The whole class groaned, "But first I need all your names in a folded paper up front so pass them up please." After that was done, Ms. Locks began to further explain. "This project is going to be based on how electricity came to be. You will be doing this with a partner. You must provide visual presentation and you will come up and present your project to the class. One more thing, this project is due in three weeks."
The class murmured a little. Dawn was uninterested; there was no way she was doing a boring, futile project.
"I will pick the partners for you." She said as she unfolded a paper. "Dawn." She said and then unfolded another paper. "Dawn, you're with Ash."
Ok, now Dawn was interested. She looked back and saw Ash smiling at her. "Yes." She said softly to herself. This could finally be her chance to win Ash's heart. She immediately wanted to rub it in Serena's face. Speaking of which, where was she?
"I'm here, sorry I'm late everyone." Serena burst through the door abruptly.
Speak of the devil and she appears…
"Where were you, Ms. Serena?" Ms. Locks asked.
"I just came back after a flight in Los Angeles because my mother fell sick and well, I had to take care of her because she's a lonely woman." Serena said ever so innocently. Dawn couldn't believe one word of this. 'Taking care of her mother'? Yeah, right! Well, it didn't matter anyways, now Dawn could finally brag about what happened to her. She was all up in her face, it was finally Dawn's turn.
"Oh how is your mother doing?" Ms. Locks asked. Dawn couldn't believe she was buying her ridiculous story. Then, again, teachers will believe anything right?
"She's doing better, but she told me to go to school. She considers it to be more important than her health." Serena said.
"Well, have a seat and Dawn, why don't you explain the project that's due?" Ms. Locks said. Dawn widened her eyes.
"Yeah, Dawn, please do tell me of this project that's due. After all, I just came back from a flight from L.A…."She smirked and Dawn growled. But then her brain suddenly gave her an idea to wipe it off.
"Sure, why not? We have a history project to do with a partner that's due in three weeks. It entails finding how electricity came to be. Ms. Locks will choose your partner, just so you know, she already selected mines: Ash." Dawn smirked and Serena flinched. She just stared at her, grinning that she was able to wipe that ridiculous smile off her face.
"Serena, you're with…Ben." Dawn started laughing out loud. Serena gasped. "Ben? You mean that ugly nerd?"
"Hey, I'm right here!" Ben retorted, and then he wiped his snot with his hand. He always seemed to be sick.
"Ughh, ewww, that is disgusting…" Serena was weirded out, but Dawn couldn't control her laughter. Finally, her day was going in her favour after all.
At lunch, Dawn and Leona were talking about their day at school so far. Dawn couldn't believe that it was going good for her so far, it was almost like a dream. Leona got paired up with someone named Kenny.
"Hey, shouldn't you plan what to do with the project with Ash?" Leona asked.
"I don't really care about projects, Leona. Plus, if I do any work, it'll just be for Ash, that's it." Dawn said.
"You must be pretty happy you're paired up with Ash." Leona said as she bit into her sandwich.
"I know! This day cannot just get any better." Dawn stated.
Suddenly Ash came towards the two girls. Dawn wondered what he wanted to ask. "Hey, Dawn, I really think we should start working on the project from today." Dawn got up from her seat and walked towards him.
"But it's not due until three weeks."
"Yeah, I know, but I might be busy with basketball the week after this one, so I'll have limited time to help prepare for it." Ash said.
"Oh, so what are we gonna do?" She asked. Ash thought for a moment.
"How about we work on it at your place?" Ash suggested and Dawn flinched. Ash…at her house? She had never thought that Ash would come over to her place. This was definitely Dawn's lucky day.
"Oookayy." She said, dreamily. Leona knocked her in the head to prevent her from day-dreaming. She cleared her throat, "So what time are you going to be there?" Dawn asked.
"Is around 6 good?" He asked.
"Anything's good, as long as you're there." Dawn said, giggling.
"Huh?" He asked.
"Just be there at 6." She smiled and he smiled and nodded before walking away.
Dawn immediately squealed at her friend, "I swear nothing could ruin this day, Leona."
"What, what do you mean May has to be here?" Dawn asked her mother who was in the kitchen making some food.
"A guy coming to over your house with the intention of only doing a project? No, no no, no matter how simple and innocent the boy is, there has to be someone to look over." Johanna said.
"Ok, but why can't you do it?" Dawn whined.
"Because I'll be at work helping your father." Dawn rolled her eyes again.
"But mom.." Dawn whined once again.
"Stop it, Dawn. I just want the best for you, that's all. Plus, May will keep an eye on you guys."
"But May is just gonna ruin everything.." Dawn said, then covered her mouth, hoping her mother didn't hear that.
"What do you mean, 'ruin everything'?" Johanna asked.
"Uhh, did I just hear the doorbell, I'll be right back." Dawn said as she ran past her mother and went to the door outside.
"No, May's not gonna ruin it…she better not." Dawn thought to herself.
And that's the end. The next chapter will be longer, maybe over 6000 words. Heck, it might be even 7000 words. And it'll be the last chapter..
Well, I hope this chapter satisfies you guys.
See you all next time! :D
