A/N: For prompt party #83 An "accidental" kiss

"Robin! Stop!" Regina shrieks, not slowing a bit as her bare feet pad through the sand, sinking a bit with each step and slowing her down.

Not that her plea deters the stubborn boy of eleven. He's revenge to seek after all. Payback must be had for the mouthful of water he'd swallowed and the sting of saltwater in his eyes after Regina had snuck up behind him and dunked him in the water. He hadn't heard her approach and had therefore been taken off guard, further swept beneath the on coming wave she'd timed it with.

They're on holiday at the beach with their parents, left to their own devices as Cora, Henry, Helen, and Richard relax on the deck of the house they're renting for the week. Normally their fathers would be down here with them, playing around in the water and building sand castles. It won't be long until both of them are too old for such things and their parents want to soak up as much of it as they can. But they'd gone off to inquire about lunch and left Robin and Regina alone.

For awhile they'd searched the sand for sea glass, collecting a nice little pile for Regina to take home because she finds it so pretty. They've spent hours on this trip scouring the sand for it alone, but Robin doesn't mind. Not when her face lights up every time they find a piece.

He's not feeling as personable now as his eyes still sting from the salt remnants in them and he pumps his legs faster as he closes in on Regina further down along the beach, their little camp of towels and coolers filled with snacks and drinks fading in the distance. She may be quick, but his legs are longer and after a few more strides he's caught up with her, circling his arms around her waist to keep her from running. Regina yelps in surprise, giggle as she wiggles in his arms attempting to get away and overshoots, bringing the both of them down to the sand.

Her butt lands with a soft thump and Robin's elbow narrowly misses her hip as he lands on top of her grunting out an, "Oof," as he tries to catch himself but they're too tangled and Regina's knee slams into his thigh and their mouths bump against one anothers as he collapses.

It stuns them both for a minute and they lay there looking at each other with wide eyes before each of them blush and Robin is rolling over onto his back and staring up at the clear blue sky, catching his breath. "Caught you, you little weasel," he taunts when he has his wind back.

"Hey!" Regina protests, turning over and pinching his side. "That's not nice. Don't call me that!"

Robin laughs and mirrors her pose, using his fist to rest his head on as he grins at her. "Says the girl who tried to drown me."

"Oh I did not!" Regina huffs, but there's a smirk flirting along her mouth and an unmistakable mischievousness to her tone. "Besides, it was funny."

"For you, maybe. My eyes are still burning."

A slight frown draws her brows together, a little crinkle forming between them and Regina apologizes softly, had never meant to actually hurt him.

Robin waves it off, no longer mad about it. "Don't worry about it. I'll live." Not that he can ever truly stay mad at her for long. "Come on, let's go see if Dad and Henry talked our moms into making lunch or if we're getting pizza!"

Regina agrees heartily and laughs as she notices the sand now covering every inch of Robin's back and arms. Laughing, she brushes it off and he does the same for her, the pair of them making their way back to their rented beach house, Robin's arm slung around her shoulders and Regina's around his waist.

This little incident doesn't count. That brush of their lips against each others already forgotten. Won't even cross her mind until years later when she has her first real kiss. Also courtesy of Robin, standing beneath a sprig of mistletoe at Christmas.
