A Winnebago in Imperial Valley, California is belonging to a family using the last name "Casse", who are watching an old sci-fi film in their trailer.
"We created a race of robots, their function is to…" the man in the film says before the TV goes all static. An 11-year-old named Troy Casse is banging the TV to function the static properly. Nothing works.
"Miguel," Troy says, "the signal's all screwed up."
"Stop it," Troy's 17-year-old brother Miguel says as he's cooking breakfast, "you're gonna break it."
"It's so fuzzy," Troy says.
A 14-year-old named Melissa is also with him. She's their sister.
A pick-up truck arrives and the driver comes out. His name is Lucas.
"Oh, no," Miguel says, noticing Lucas, who takes weeds out from his pick-up truck. Miguel greets him by saying, "Morning, Lucas."
"You see these?!" Lucas said stressfully, showing Miguel the weeds, "I've got a whole goddamned crop full of these! If your father's not in the air in 20 minutes, I'm getting someone else."
Miguel is riding through the countryside on his motorcycle and notices a biplane being driven by a pilot. The pilot is named Russell Casse, Miguel's step-father, who's drunk. He is taking the plane on the joyride.
"Russell!" Miguel calls to him.
Russell happily and excitedly greets him by saying, "Hey, Miguel! Aha ha, whoo, whoo! Yahoo!"
As he flies across his field, he uses his plane to spray crop spray on it.
"Russell, what are you doing?" Miguel asks.
After spraying the field, he lands his plane next to the motorcycle.
"Just what in the hell do you think you're doing?" Miguel asks as a family comes over.
Russell gets out of his plane but falls.
"Whoa!" Russell says as he falls out.
"It's the wrong field, you idiot!" Miguel corrects him for his location of Lucas's farm, "Lucas's farm is on the other side of town!"
"Are you sure?" Russell asks in doubt.
Miguel doesn't respond, and instead, rides off. Russell notices the family has just arrived and are Hispanic-Americans. He learns that Miguel was right, and takes a swig of whiskey from his bottle.
Meanwhile, in space, circular pieces of the mothership break off, the bottom side looking like the Homeworld symbol. They flip into position and head towards Earth.
In the Moon Base, there are three Homeworld gems. One of them was Jade of the Blue Diamond court, who has long light green hair, a uniform similar to Peridot's, bit with sleeves. Her gemstone is on her front where her heart is inside the body if gems had hearts like humans did when it comes to biology. The other one is Azurite of the Yellow Diamond court, whose gemstone is on her head, and sports hair a lighter blue color than her skin, as well as a dress similar to Lapis Lazuli's, but with skinny, clingy, pants instead of a skirt. There was a third one leading the two. Her name is Jasper. She was the leader of an attack on Earth that led to Steven discovering Garnet to be a fusion the whole time. Her gemstone is where her nose should be.
In the aftermath of her comeback to the Crystal Gems, she forced Lapis to fuse with her into Malachite, which ended with them being dragged into the ocean thanks to Lapis. Months later, Alexandrite defeated Malachite, and some time afterwards, she officially joined the Crystal Gems. Jasper was stuck in the ocean until she fought Steven, who she thought was Rose Quartz, and Lapis, the latter winning thanks to her hydrokinesis. Jasper then collected corrupted gems to create an army to one-up Steven but failed in the time he and Amethyst first fused into Smoky Quartz.
Jasper fused with a corrupted gem to one-up them, but the fusion was split by Smoky Quartz using her three yo-yos as fans. The fusion with the gem caused Jasper to retract corruption from it, and become corrupted herself. However, Peridot poofed her by poking a metal bar through her using telekinesis. She was bubbled by Amethyst that same day.
Unfortunately, in a battle with a corrupted gem in the form of a dragon, which moved to the burning room, where the battle continued, the bubble containing Jasper and Bismuth were popped, freeing them. Steven spits on the gemstone on the dragon's neck, and some drops got on Jasper's gemstone as she reformed. The dragon was healed, and so was Jasper, the latter, unnoticing escaping the temple.
She found a ship to get back to Homeworld and told the Diamonds and inhabitants everything. They spared her and gained intel about Steven's existence, which embittered them, save for the secret loyalists of the Crystal Gems. During her time of being bubbled, Jasper gained the memories of the Crystal Gems and Steven of their lives, and now knows Steven for who the really is, no longer dubbing him "Rose Quartz".
The same goes to the five Rubies that came to Earth and were given names by Steven. The Ruby of the leg was Leggy, the noob. The Ruby of the arm was Army, the roughest, the Ruby of the belly was Navy, the peasant. The Ruby of the left eye was Eyeball, an admirer of Jasper, and the leader had a Ruby on her chest and wore yellow shades. Steven gave her the name, Doc. Eyeball had the same memory gain that Jasper did once, and told her teammates everything one day. They found Jasper, and one day, Eyeball and Jasper fused.
Clinohumite came into existence. She got used to herself, and her new weapon. Then found a testing ground to test it on. Doc and Army forced the other two to volunteer, and they were poofed by Clinohumite's weapon, which mixed Eyeball's dagger with Jasper's crash helmet. The two Rubies reformed, and Clinohumite unfused. The Rubies stayed with Jasper and contacted Yellow Diamond and the other two diamonds to remind them of the fusion. They learned that fusions have improved now, for their purposes. Jasper and Eyeball were spared.
Now, the Rubies are monitoring the reactivated moon base, and Jasper is in there with Jade and Azurite.
"How's it going with watching the Earth?" Jasper asks the Rubies.
The five Rubies turn to greet Jasper with the salute of the Diamonds. Jasper and the two new gems salute back, yet the Rubies become curious about Jade and Azurite.
"Who are they?" Doc asks.
"Jade of the Yellow Court," Jade says.
"Azurite of the Blue Court," Azurite follows.
"They're here to work with us in our plans to destroy Steven and the rest of the Earth," Jasper begins, "Have the Area Destroyers been deployed yet?"
The Rubies say yes, and Jasper looks at the saucers floating towards the Earth. She knows them as the Area Destroyers. A devilish grin appears on her face.
"Good," she says, "soon, our plans for Steven and Earth will continue without plans."
She stays there, watching the screen, as the Area Destroyers continue to slowly float their way towards their targets.
That's Chapter 2. I tried fusing a Ruby with a Jasper on the Gemsona Maker, and Clinohumite was the result. The City Destroyers are now called the Area Destroyers, because would they be called City Destroyers if they destroyed towns or farmlands that aren't cities at all? Expect me to write chapter 3 sometime in the future. Bismuth will be making an appearance in this story. Stay tuned, I plan to write a sequel, based on Resurgence, where Gem technology has been adapted, and Homeworld retaliates 20 years later.
