Chris jolted awake from a nightmare. His mother and older brother, Paul, were in his room.

"You know... I'm not really feeling great so I don't think-", Chris started.

"No. You aren't going to school today. You're going to take a little break, for us to find out just what the hell you have been doing at night", Chris's mother said.

"Okay... that works", Chris said. His mother left the room, and Paul stayed. Paul closed the door.

"So... who's that person that gave you a ride last week? Chet?", Paul asked.

"Yeah... I think that's his name. How do you know?", Chris asked.

"Well a friend of yours told me. I think his name's Jerk", Paul replied.

"Yeah, and what about that?", Chris asked.

"Well, on the same day you got picked up by "Chet", the police department got a call from someone claiming there were a bunch of vampires settled in an old church", Paul said.

"What about it?"

"Well, the operator thought it sounded like your voice, but I'm not sure. He mentioned something about being turned. I'm not really sure".

"And... why are you telling me this?", Chris asked.

"Because I think you made that call. And it wasn't a prank call, the police raided that place", Paul said.

"So what?", Chris asked.

"So, that means you called them, and the person who called them said they were turning into a vampire", Paul said.

"Look, I'm not a vampire. I don't know how you could think that"

Paul opens his jacket. He is wearing a necklace underneath it, with a cross attached to it. Almost instantly, Chris squinted at it as if his eyes were burning inside.

"Paul?", Chris's mother called.

"I'll be there in a minute", Paul replied.

"Chris, you better-", Paul started, but noticed Chris was gone.

"Mom! Get over here!", Paul yelled.

"What is it Paul?", his mother asked.

As she entered the room, she stood in shock.

"Chris isn't here", Paul said.

"I think he ran away", Paul suggested.

"Why?", Paul's mother asked.

"Because he's a vampire"...
