Chapter 1 – Being Replaced
A/N – I am going to make this a long story. However I have other stories which need updating so I won't update very often.
Buffy, Cyrus and Andi walked into the Spoon, just as they had many times before. However, this time it was different, sitting in a booth on the right hand side was Marty, with a girl. This girl was not Buffy nor any girl at Jefferson middle school. When Marty noticed the three by the door he got out of his seat and referenced for them to come over. "Hey, I want you to meet my girlfriend, Allie." Marty introduced Allie to the group. "Oh, you have a girlfriend." For a moment Buffy looked crestfallen but quickly replaced her upset face for a large, fake grin.
"Come on Buffy, let's take a seat!" Andi forced Buffy into a booth and Cyrus quickly ordered a round of Baby Taters and Milkshakes. Buffy wasn't concentrating through the performance of Tater theatre and also wasn't listening to Andi go on and on about Jonah and his confusing mannerisms. "Buffy! Buffy!" Cyrus had noticed she hadn't been paying attention and was calling to make her listen.
"What!" Buffy replied startled from her daydreaming. "I gotta go," She stumbled out of the booth and stormed out of the door of The Spoon. As Buffy walked down the street she wondered why it bothered her that Marty had a girlfriend. She didn't like Marty – or did she?
Back in the diner, Marty wondered what had made Buffy so distant earlier. He knew they hadn't talked in a while, after the chat they had on the bridge. But, why was she acting strange. Marty looked back over at Allie who was twiddling her hair and looking up at the signage on the wall. "Oh Marty, I cannot wait until you start high school!" Marty smiled awkwardly and continued thinking. He thought about how Buffy would not bore him with pointless conversation, instead would have endless banter with him. "Marty! I was talking about you joining high school. Keep Up!" Allie had been droning on for about 5 minutes when she had checked Marty was following on.
"How is the track team at High School?" Marty asked, trying as hard as he could to sound engaged in the conversation. Allie looked down at Marty and chuckled. "You! On the track team! What is your time?" Allie waited for a response from the now growing uncomfortable Marty. "…11.5…." He responded while shifting in his seat. "Good Luck!" Allie then said in a very sarcastic tone. With that Marty looked down at his phone and lied. "Family Emergency! I have to go, see ya later"
After walking out The Spoon he texted Buffy. *You okay?* he continued wandering back towards his house and when he reached the porch he saw a girl sitting there with tear stained eyes…
