Chapter 2:

"When are we there?" Alastor asked. She was almost done with this. It first looked like a big adventure, to explore the forbidden basement. But now it was getting annoying. They were walking for a long time and Alastor got more impatient with each step they took. "Abby, we are walking forever. Where are we going? I'm not taking another step before you tell me." Alastor said. She glared in the direction she heard her sister walk. "Come, you'll see it when we get there." Abbygail said, without losing her pace. Alastor sighed. "Can you at least tell me where we are going? What are you planning, Abby?" Alastor started to follow Abbigail's footsteps again. She got more suspicious with each step she took. "Abby?" she asked again. But no answer from Abbygail.

Then before Alastor tried to call Abbygail again, Abbygail stopped. "We're here." She whispered. "We are?" Alastor asked uneasy. "I can't see anything! Are you sure?" She asked. Alastor tried to look around. But it was too dark to see anything. She could feel her sister close by, and something else. There was something with them down here. "Abby, do you feel that? I think something is here with us." Alastor now whispered. But Abbygail did not answer. Alastor started to get worried. Maybe going into the forbidden basement wasn't such a good idea. Now she could understand why her mother would lock off the basement. Alastor felt a strange sensation while standing there. And it wasn't a good sensation. There was something dangerous in here. Something that was locked up. And somehow Abbygail got in touch with it. Maybe it's got something to do with that book. "Is this were you found the book?" She then asked her younger sister.

First Abbygail didn't reply, than she started to chuckle. Than Alastor could hear her laugh. First softly, then Abbygail started to laugh hysterically. Alastor gulped, she knew she was in big trouble. She needed to get out of this basement. She needed to get her mother. "Abby, we need to get out of here, it's… not safe." She said soft but stern. Abbygail continued her laughter. Alastor waited for a moment for her sister to calm down, but the feeling of unease grew even larger. They both were there for far too long. There was something down there, it was getting closer. Alastor could feel it closing in on them, the air started was starting to get heavier. It got harder to breath. Alastor slowly started to panic. Abbygail was still in an unknown state, and Alastor knew that it didn't bode well for her. She couldn't wait any longer.

"I'm going back!" Alastor yelled, trying to break the heavy atmosphere and getting things back into her control again. She didn't wait for her sister and turned to the direction where they came from. Alastor started stomping off in the direction. Abbygail stopped laughing. Alastor noticed that the air got colder, but decided to ignore it. Something tried to get a hold of her, but Alastor refused to give in. Something inside her urged her to keep going, not to give into this strange feeling. Alastor's pace grew, she even began to run. But after a few steps she hit her head against a wall. After the impact she fell awkwardly backwards. She grabbed her nose and glared to the dark wall in front of her. "What…. What happened…a wall?" She said, while rubbing her nose. She sat up and with her hands she touched the wall in front of her. The wall in front of her was ice cold. Alastor shuddered, trying to shake the cold chill which came over her.

Her attention snapped back, when Alastor heard steps behind her. She carefully looked over her shoulder into the darkness. It took a moment before she recognized her sister's footsteps. Alastor sighed relieved, maybe Abbygail got back to her senses. Alastor stood up and folded her arms. "Are you finally done, you scared me." Alastor said annoyed. Abbygail started to chuckle. Alastor started to shudder again. It started to sink in that maybe the danger she felt wasn't an entity, but her sister. Abbygail led her here, after finding the book. Maybe something possessed her?

Alastor pushed her back against the wall, making herself ready to dash away. "Abby, are you…." Alastor whispered while staring intensely in front of her. She heard the soft paces from her sister get closer until they stopped right in front of her. Alastor tried to make something out of the darkness, but failed. She knew something was in front of her. She felt the cold breath in front of her. Alastor held in her breath, never closing her eyes. Her senses sharpened. They stood there for quite some time. Alastor tried to get her eyes adjusted to the darkness. It worked a bit, she now could make out the shape of Abbygail. But it was not Abbygail, not the way Alastor know her. She looked more wicked, more disturbed. Alastor concentrated on Abbigail's face, trying to spot Abbigail's familiar features. Slowly Alastor could see more. Abbygail smiled contently, her arms behind her back. She was holding something behind her. Alastor knew it must be something unpleasant for her. Then Alastor looked up to Abbigail's face. Abbygail had her eyes closed shut, it almost looked like she was musing something.

But Alastor knew that her sister wouldn't stand around like that for long. She was planning to do something to Alastor. And damned if she would stand around waiting here like a lamb for the slaughter. She needed to do something and fast. Alastor silently took a deep breath, she would make a run for it. Where she did not know, she couldn't hang around here. She counted to three before making a move. Then the moment Alastor moved, Abbygail also moved. Alastor could see that her sister draw something from behind her and thrust it towards Alastor's head. Alastor could barely dodge it. A quick sharp pain shot through her cheek, some warm liquid started to leak from the wound. Alastor grabbed her cheek and stared at her sister. She froze for a second when she looked in Abbigail's eyes. Two bloodshot eyes stared back malicious at her. Alastor saw how those eyes trailed from her eyes to her bloody cheek. It looked interested in the damage it done.

Alastor gulped, she had to get out, now. Before it was too late. Alastor called on all her courage and started yelling. With great strength she pushed Abbygail away from her. She made a run for in the opposite direction.

Jillian jumped up. She could have sworn she heard something. She looked at her alarm clock. It was almost 01.00 am. She yawned and lay back for a second. She looked at the ceiling. She wasn't tired, not in the least. She sat up. Maybe it was the stress her great aunt have given her tonight. Lillian sat down on the edge of her bed. She yawned while staring in front of her. Maybe some fresh water would help, she was feeling a bit nauseous. She stood up and put on her gown. Slowly Lillian traced her door and walked into the corridor. She headed for the stairs. Then Lillian noticed something strange. The door of the girls their room was open. How strange, Lillian knew she had closed the door when she checked up on them almost an hour ago. She walked to the door and peeked in. Both the girls' bed were empty. Lillian frowned. Where could they have gone off too, in the middle of the night?

Lillian sighed wearily. She would have a long heart to heart when she would find the two troublemakers. It sure wasn't easy to be mother of two half demons. She did her best to keep the two entertained, making sure that they could release their energy from time to time. Giving them harsh training while tutoring them. These two would never really fit into a normal school, they are so much more energetic than other kids. That's why Lillian decided to tutor her daughters herself. She put away her weapons and started to teach them lessons they needed in real life, while filling their heads with knowledge. She only hoped that it would keep them on the right way. Lillian sighed and thought about her husband. The girls looked a lot like him. Just as fanatic and rebellious. She wondered what her husband would have done if he was still around. She was sure he would have blown the whole house to bits. He wasn't a patient one. Especially if his patience was tested. She smiled at the times he got angry at her, and at the thought of the 'punishment' he would give her. She turned red when she thought about it. It still made her heart beat faster when she thought about those long nights together. They had a wonderful marriage. Why did he disappear? She needed him, now more than ever. The twin were getting out of hand lately. They were getting stronger and harder to handle at times, even for her.

She was pounding for some time when she was shocked out of her thoughts. The house shook, Lillian grabbed the door while trying to keep herself standing. "Earthquake?" She said confused. Then she focused her sense. She soon felt that something was wrong. She got an eerie vibe. She walked downstairs and looked around. Then she noticed that the door of the basement was opened "No, those two…" She gasped and turned around. She ran back up the stairs to her room. She walked towards her closet and opened it. Her eyes scanned the closet and after a moment she found what she was looking for on the last shelf. She took out a large leather suitcase. She walked to her desk and laid the suitcase on the desk. She lay her hand on the suitcase and softly spoke some incantations. The suitcase opened.

"Good thing I didn't threw this away." Lillian muttered while scanning the content. She then stroked with her right hand the equipment that was stored in here. "Long time no see, love." She whispered and took out a modified rifle. Next to the rifle was the ammo. She took some cartridges and stored some in the pocket of her nightgown. She had no time to change, the girls needed her. The last thing she took out was her old trusty stun rod. She smiled when she looked at it. "What sweet memories… Now, let's see if I still got it." She murmured while heading for the door.

When she stepped outside of her bedroom she heard Johnson calling from downstairs. "Lady Lillian? Miss Alastor. Miss Abbygail?" "Here, Mister Johnson!" Lillian shouted. "I'm coming down!" She added. She quickly paced down the stairs. She frowned when she saw her butler coming towards her. He had an old shotgun in hands. "Seems I'm not the only one who smelled a rat." Johnson chuckled. Lillian rolled her eyes. "I almost forgot that you've served in the army." She said dryly. "Yes, madam. I'm still not a defenseless old man." He replied, while giving her a smirk. Lillian sighed. "Well, be sure to use that experience. We are going to need it." Lillian pointed to the basement door. "The basement?" Johnson asked, while giving Lillian a curious look. "But that is always locked, isn't it? Is there something down there?" Lillian nodded. "It is locked, and for good reason. Seems like my little pumpkins found out my little secret." Lillian sighed. "Secret, madam? What are you hiding in the basement?" Lillian gave him one look, considering if she should tell him.

Then she decided that he should at least know what he's up against. "There is an old demon sealed up in there. My husband have sealed it here before the twins were born." She said. Johnson gave her a confused look. "A… demon?" He asked. "I…" He couldn't believe his ears. His mistress just told him that she hid a sealed demon in the basement. He gave Lillian a suspicious look. Lillian rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know it sounds weird. But it's true. I believe the twin has released it somehow." She looked at the basement door again. "We need to get them out of there and reseal the beast." She stated. She gave Johnson one last look. The older man stared at her, not knowing if he should believe her. "Believe it or not, Johnson. You don't have to go with me. The choice is yours if you want to leave now. I won't make you go down." Lillian turned and walked to the open door. She shot one last glance at the old man, before she made her way down into the darkness.

Johnson stood staring at the door for a while. He simply didn't believe what Lillian had told him about the demon. He did know that the girls were in danger, and he did not want his mistress to face off against the danger alone. It was his duty as butler of this family, to protect his employees. It was his nature to protect, just as his duty in the war was to protect his fellow soldiers. He checked his shotgun one last time, making sure he had enough ammo and followed his mistress.

Alastor didn't know where to go. She had been running for quite some time, and every time she thought she had found the exit. She bounced against another wall. It was almost if she was trapped inside a large cube. But she couldn't stand and thing about her next move for long. Abbygail was still in pursuit. It was a dangerous cat and mouse game. Alastor did not like the feeling of being the mouse. She liked it more when Abbygail was still a bore. This was so not like her sister, or… She never knew her sister at all. That was also a possibility. Abbygail could be eccentric at times. Like tonight, when she was talking about how to destroy her own gift. Maybe this is one side of Abbygail she simply did not see.

Alastor jumped aside when she felt the air move behind her. She was right in time to dodge the sharp object Abbygail used to attack Alastor. "That was close." Alastor gasped and turned around. She faced Abbygail again. Maybe she should use a different approach. Their mother didn't teach them self-defense for nothing. Before Abbygail could restore her form by readying her weapon again, Alastor went for an attack. She ran, and with a smooth twist she gathered a lot of momentum to give Abbygail a hard kick to the face. Abbygail fell hard to the ground. Before Abbygail could react, Alastor grabbed away the weapon. "Now, let's see what you've been assaulting me with." Alastor said. She took a quick look at the weapon in her hands. It was a long sword. Alastor gave it a curious look, it was lighter than she first thought. The way Abbygail handled it, it first looked like a massive weapon.

Abbygail got back on her feet. She threw Alastor a glare. Alastor felt her sister glaring at her and smirked. "Lost something?" she asked teasingly while holding the weapon in front of her. "Give it back!" Abbygail screamed inhumanly. Alastor took a step back, startled by her sister's shriek.

Alastor looked confused from her sister to the sword, and then back to her sister. "No." She simply said. "It's obviously making you crazy bonkers." Alastor stated while carefully eyeing her sister. Abbygail stood up, and with it her anger rose. Alastor took a step back again. She gave the sword a frowned look. "I start to see why mother kept this basement closed. We should have never come here. I can't believe that mother has kept this… thing. Why didn't she threw it out, if she knew it was going to influence us? … Correction, you." Alastor said glaring at her sister. She took a step back again, because Abbygail was getting closer. Abbygail spoke in a malformed voice again. "You can't comprehend its true power." Alastor cocked her brow at Abbygail, still walking backwards. Abbygail paced after her, not ever letting Alastor get out of sight. "True power? Are you blind? What power could this sword possibly have, not counting the driving you mad thing." Abbygail roared. "Give it back."

Alastor took another step back and almost cursed. She could feel the wall behind her. She has once again hit a dead end. Abbygail smirked. "You seem to have run out of options. Just give the Oroshi and die." She hurled at Alastor trying to take back the sword. Alastor struggled to keep the sword out of her sister's reach. "I don't think I like that option. I would take another option. Not giving you back the sword, and not dying." Abbygail growled. "That's not a decision you can make. Destiny has already chosen me as the true heir." Alastor held the sword high and tried with her other hand to push Abbygail away. "Destiny, huh?" She said and then chuckled. "I don't think mother would agree with destiny." She added. Both girls looked up. They could sense their mother coming into the basement. "You are in so much trouble." Alastor laughed. Then her laugh died down when Abbygail started to laugh. Louder than Alastor a moment ago. "Mother doesn't have a hold on us… She has been holding us down all this time. Preventing us from our true calling."

Alastor tried pushing Abbygail off from her. Every time she pushes Abbygail away, Abbygail came back, almost even stronger than before. "You shouldn't have eaten that spinach tonight." Alastor gasped, while holding off her crazy sibling. "And maybe you should just accept the things your superiors tell you." Abbygail sneered. She then kicked Alastor in the stomach. Alastor gasped and let the sword fall. Abbygail jumped to get it. But she didn't see that Alastor readied for another assault. She punched Abbygail in the face, throwing the girl off guard. "And maybe you should have put more effort in mother's training exercises. You never were one for putting effort in power training. Always thinking that your wits could overthrow anything." Alastor yelled. The girls both jumped at each other. They both had forgotten about the sword and started to fight ferociously. Both using the techniques mother taught them.

"Lady Lillian, wait for me. I'm coming." Johnson said. "Shh… be quiet, we don't know what we'll find there. Maybe we could get the element of surprise." Lillian whispered. Johnson nodded. "Why is it here so dark?" Johnson complained softly. "I can't see anything. How do we know where we are going?" Lillian reassured him. "Don't worry, Mister Johnson. I know this place like the back of my mind. We will find the children." Johnson nodded, then remembering that Lillian couldn't see his motion. "Yes, madam." He quickly said. Lillian smiled. She readied her weapon and started to walk through the dark space. "Follow my steps, Mister Johnson. If necessary, I could light up the place." She said. Johnson cursed something inaudible and followed the Lilian. They have been walking for quite some time. "How large is this basement? We have been walking for a long time." Johnson whispered. He was getting agitated, the darkness was closing in on him. Lillian reassured him that they were close. Before she could speak to him, they heard some fighting. "Oh, no." Lillian whispered. "What… what is it, mistress?" Johnson asked. "The girls are fighting. I could feel their struggle." Johnson looked weird. "Feel them?" "Don't ask now, later. They are fighting against each other. Luckily the seal is still intact." Johnson stared at the back of his mistress. "How do you know?" he asked goofily. "If the seal was broken, the air would be much colder, it would even hurt to breath." She explained. "Oh…" Johnson replied, not really getting it. It didn't make sense, in the first place, do demons exist. And the second, why does Lady Lillian know so much about it. He wanted to ask her this, but she hushed them. "Quiet, they are here. Behind this barrier." Johnson didn't ask, he didn't wanted to know. This place give him the creeps. Maybe it wasn't such a great job after all. If he had known he was working on a resting place for demons…

Then he snapped back. Lillian was muttering some words, then a small light appeared before fading. "So, the barrier is gone. Let's go find the girls." She said. "How did you do that?" Johnson asked amazed. "I know a few spells. It came in handy for when I was hunting." Johnson gasped. "Hunting, hunting what?" Lillian chuckled. "Hunting demons. I've been a demon hunter before I got married." Johnson snorted. "A demon hunter?" Lillian looked over her shoulder, to the silhouette behind her. "Is that so unbelievable?" she asked annoyed. Johnson shrugged. "Well, yes. I've never heard or seen anything about it. And I've seen a lot believe me… So, the girls' father is also a demon hunter?" He then asked. Lillian was quiet for a time. Johnson wondered if he had gone too far. Before he could give her an apology she started to speak again. "Not exactly." She said. "I've met him while I was still in the hunting business. He first had been an adversary. I hated him intensely. Then one day, after a deadly mission. I fell head over heels for him." Johnson scratched his head. "So, he's been a demon … sympathizer or something…?" Johnson asked. Lillian chuckled. "No, he's a demon. A demonic knight." Johnson was quiet, not knowing if he should believe her. Lillian noticed his doubts and started to chuckle again. "Nothing to say to that mister Johnson? And I thought nothing could surprise you, or so you told at the job interview." "I don't recall you mention something about demons during the interview." Johnson replied dryly. Lilian smirked while orientating herself in the dark room. Behind her she heard Johnson mutter. "No wonder her kids are so devious at times."

Both were on their way again, after a few small corridors they finally reached their destination. Now Johnson could hear fighting as well. Lillian was right, the girls were fighting. He could hear Lillian walk before him. She was walking to the sounds. She coughed and then spoke strict to her children. "And what are you two doing here. In the middle of the night. Come here at once." She jumped at the two girls and grabbed them both by the hair. She pulled them up and let them hang for a moment. Both girls looked shocked up to their mother. Lillian spoke some incantations, and the place lighted up with blue lights. Alastor sighed relieved when she saw her mother's face. "You are finally here." She squeaked. Abbygail remained quiet, she only stared blankly at her mother. "Yeah?!" Lillian roared. "Well, if it wasn't for you two I didn't have to be here in the first place. Do you have any idea what you have done?! What you could have done?!" Alastor stared confused at her mother. Abbygail looked at the ground.

"You two… Let's go upstairs… Mr. Johnson grab these two. I'm going to put on some protection wards and make sure no one can come here ever again." Lillian threw her daughters towards the confused butler. The man stared from the angry woman to the two youngsters and back. "What are you waiting for?" Lillian yelled. "Go, now." Johnson jumped a little and then obeyed the mistress. He nodded and grabbed the girls by the arms. "Come now, girls. You've heard your mother. Let's get out of here." Alastor nodded and let herself be pulled away. But Abbygail didn't budge. Johnson gave Abbygail a look. "Young lady, you've heard your mother. Let's go." But Abbygail stayed where she was.

"Miss Abbygail…" Abbygail shook of Johnson's hand and ran towards her mother. She stopped right behind Lillian. Lillian felt her daughter coming and turned around. She frowned at her daughter, trying to keep her anger down. "Why…..WHY….." Abbygail roared monstrously. "WHY DID YOU KEEP THIS FROM US?! WHY DID YOU IMPRISON HIM HERE?" Lillian frowned even deeper while she was giving her daughter a cautious look. "Abbygail… Did you disturb anything while you were here?" She asked carefully. Her youngest didn't answer. Abbygail threw her mother a destructive glare. Lillian sighed, she was afraid of this. Somehow the demon sealed here has gotten influence over one of her daughters. She knew Beelzebub could control others even when sealed away like this. But to have this great a hold over her. Lillian stepped towards her daughter. Abbygail backed away, never letting her eyes go from Lillian. "Mister Johnson, please leave now. Take Alastor with you." Lillian said calmly.

Alastor and Johnson snapped back to attention. They were both shocked at what was happening. "I knew it… Abbygail is possessed." Alastor whispered. Johnson looked at the young girl. "Let's go." He said and started to drag Alastor away. It took a moment before Alastor knew that the man was intended to get her away. They were going to leave mother and Abbygail behind. Alastor looked over her shoulder to where her sister and mother were. Then she held in her breath. A dark shadow was hanging over them. They were in danger. "No!" Alastor yelled. "We can't leave them here!" Alastor started to struggle. Johnson tried to hold on tighter. "Alastor, we've got to leave, your mother…" But Alastor didn't give in. "I DON'T CARE" She roared.

Johnson jumped a little and let the young girl go. Alastor didn't sounded normal. Just like Abbygail she was sounding different. But the intent of Alastor was different. Alastor has seen something, something that was influencing her sister. Making her sister malicious. Something inside her told her to help her mother and sister. To confront the danger.

Alastor ran towards her mother and sister. Lillian looked up from Abbygail to her other daughter. She sighed when she saw Alastor's eyes. They were changing. From the forest green eyes, Alastor's eyes turned red. Her eye pupil narrowed, her eyes almost looked like cats eyes. So Alastor was also losing control over her demon side. It couldn't be helped. The young siblings were sensitive to this influence. Just like their father was. He also could never back down. He confronted the dangers head on. She had once been like that, before she became a mother. She wished that her daughters wouldn't look like them and were protected from this. That they would run away from a fight. Lillian smirked. "How right he was, it's not easy to keep demons, even if they are half-bloods, from demonic influence… I hate it when he's right." She murmured while thinking about her husband. He had once told her the influence other demons had over him. That he still longed to crack some lesser beings heads, or to taste ones blood. He still craved for bloodshed and chaos. She ridiculed him and told him that their child (first they didn't knew it would be a twin) would have no such feelings. He smirked and told her that she would be wrong.

Alastor came closer and now Abbygail looked over her shoulder. She smirked when she saw Alastor coming right for them. Abbygail turned around again to face her mother. But was taking by surprise. Lillian held up her hand and started to whisper a spell. Abbygail recognized it, but could not react in time. A great gush of wind send the girls flying through the room. Lillian smirked when she saw her girls land with a loud bump. "Didn't expect that your mother could throw such a good 'punch' huh!" She yelled cocky. Lillian has been getting softer the last few years, but she still enjoyed a good fight. Even against her own teenage daughters. "I hope that you've learned your lesson well. Never double-cross your mother!" She said that while trying to hide her smile.

Both girls looked up to their mother. Alastor was in awe. She has never seen her mother this powerful. Abbygail was less impressed, more disgusted by her mother's display of power. "How disgusting, a human using a demon's spell." She sneered. Alastor cocked a brow. "How can you say that? Our mother can kick butt! I love it!" She yelled. "Tsk…" Abbygail glared at Alastor before standing up. She dusted off her nightgown and threw her mother a glare. "Don't give me that look, Abby. Now do as I say, get out of this basement. And wait for mother upstairs." Lillian said with great authority. Alastor stared at her mother, again in amazement. Abbygail was not impressed. She slowly took a step towards her mother again. Mother held up her hand again and waved. "A.a.a. Listen to your mother." She said while she shook her finger. Abbygail didn't wanted to give in and took another step. "Wait, I don't think that's a good idea." Alastor whispered. Abbygail ignored her and stepped forward, now faster. Mother blasted them back, again. "Why did you have to blast me away again?" Alastor sighed annoyed. "It was Abby who ignored you." She added. Lillian chuckled. "You both were going against my wishes. See it as your punishment." Alastor scratched her head and then nodded. "Ok."

Abbygail gave Alastor an irritated look. "You are so stupid. Didn't you know that mother was keeping things from us? She sealed a demon in here. She even kept things from us about our father." Alastor shrugged this off. "I guess mother had her reasons." She mused. Lillian smiled and nodded. "See, that's explains it why we weren't to go down here. I told you so." Alastor added. Abbygail shook her head. She was getting angry again. "You don't understand, you idiot." Alastor frowned at her sister. She was getting annoyed by her sister more and more. "What's your problem anyway?" Alastor asked. "My problem is that our mother always concealed the true about our heritage. We are half demons, Alastor. Just like the demon she imprisoned here. She could imprison us if she wanted." Alastor gave Abbygail a blank look. "Aha…" Abbygail slapped her own forehead. "You are so… It means we are weak. We are only half as powerful as the rest of the demons. If we were to be attacked… We would be sitting ducks. That's why we needed to be here. You and I. If you just had listened and be a good girl. We wouldn't be in this situation. Then mother and Johnson wouldn't have to die. Then we both would be happy."

Alastor snapped at Abbygail's comment. "Have to die? Look whose stupid now. If you hadn't always stuck your nose in those strange books and looked around, you should know that we are happy as can be." Alastor pointed at Lillian. "Mother taught us that there are people out there who have less than us, who are always sad." Abbygail shook her head. "Those are humans, not demons. Understand that that kind of happiness doesn't apply for us." Alastor knitted her brows together. "You are a stubborn one." Abbygail walked away from Alastor. "Well, no point in convincing you. It seems you've got too much human blood. I don't understand why you've been chosen as our father's namesake." Abbygail walked towards one side of the room. All watched curiously what Abbygail wanted to do. Then Lillian gasped. Abbygail has found the sword and held it up. "I should have done this earlier, when we both were fighting." Abbygail said. She cut open her wrist and muttered some dark incantations. Then she let some drops of her blood fall to the ground. "Stop it!" Lillian yelled, but it was too late.

Alastor looked confused around her, the air was starting to get colder. She started to tremble a bit. The sense of danger grew stronger. She looked at her mother. Lillian was frozen to the spot. "How did you know the spell to unleash Beelzebub?" She asked softly. Abbygail just smirked and watched how her summoning was changing the room. Johnson cursed and backed away. In the middle of the room a dark form appeared. Alastor shot the entity a suspicious look. Abbygail has done it. The demon was lose. Alastor also started to back away slowly. Deep inside it screamed to go somewhere safe. It was not safe to go against it, not now. She was too weak.

Lillian came into action and started to incantate other spells, but the entity started to hurl around her. It threw her in the air before catching her. Lillian fell how the air got squeezed out of her. It wasn't long before Lillian heard her bones crack. "It's been a long time…." The entity hissed. Abbygail smirked.

She walked forward towards the entity. "Don't forget your promise, I freed you." The entity hissed when it turned towards Abbygail. "And for that, you will be repaid. Demon spawn…" Abbygail smirked. "Then give me power, make me whole." The entity started to chuckle. "Whole you shall be, but not by my power. It will be your own doing." The entity turned back to Lillian again. "How I longed for this moment. But you are not mine to take." The entity let go of Lillian, letting her fall onto the ground. "As promised, they are yours. Kill them, make yourself stronger by spilling their blood, carving out their hearts." Abbygail nodded and smirked wickedly. "So it will be, master." She replied. She turned towards her mother. "Make sure to make it as painful as possible. Come to me after the ritual is done." The entity said before it dispersed into millions of flies. Alastor and Johnson ducked while it flew over them.

Quickly their attention went back to Abbygail and Lillian. Abbygail stood frozen in place, her gaze focused on her mother. Behind her a dark shadow grew. Alastor recognized if from earlier, when Abbygail chased her. It started to whisper. Alastor found it familiar, but couldn't make anything out of it. "Abby" Lillian whispered. But the girl did not response. She still stood there. The monstrous shadow started whispers again and made Abby walk towards her mother. Lillian looked closer at the girl, at her expression. Abby looked almost emotionless with her gaze on Lillian. After a few steps Abby stood right in front of Lillian. "Abby..." Lillian whispered again. Now the shadow of Abbygail spoke, in a language all could understand. "Let the ritual begin.…"

The eyes of Abby started to turn red. A wicked smile appeared on her face. She started laughing hysterically. After she was done laughing she looked deeply into her mother's eyes. "How I've waited patiently for this day." Abbygail now chuckled and put her hand inside nightgown. "What are you doing?!" Lillian asked her sternly. "Young lady, I demand an answer." But her voice died when she saw Abbygail not stopping. Abby has found what she looked for. Outside of her skirt, she showed a peculiar knife. Then she walked a circle around her mother. She looked almost like a predator. "Where did you get that?" Lillian yelled. But she got no answer. The longer she stared at her youngest daughter, the more the feeling sank in that was not herself anymore. She was gone…..

Abby stood in front of her again. And played with the knife. "Don't!" But Abby laughed at her mother's protest. Lillian had lost most of her strength when her arms and ribs were broken by Beelzebub. Without a warning Abbygail grabbed Lillian's hand. Before Lillian could pull back her hand, Abby strike. She removed Lillian's hand with one clean cut. Lillian looked at her arm, not knowing how to react. She was shocked than the pain sat in. She started to scream while grabbing her wounded arm. Both Alastor and Johnson stared at the scene in shock. When her mother started screaming in pain, Alastor got out of her shock. She stood up. She had to do something. She looked around and saw Johnson trembling in fear. She noticed the shotgun Mister Johnson had squeezed in his hands. "Mr. Johnson… Mr. Johnson?" She whispered trying to get his attention. Then she snapped back to the scene. She heard her mother scream again. Now Abbygail was started to carve her mother up. Alastor jumped up. She needed to do something. Johnson jumped up and ran away. Alastor looked behind and sighed disappointed. The butler couldn't handle it anymore. It was now up to her. Alastor stood up and slowly walked towards Abbygail and mother.

She didn't know what she would do if she reached them. Alastor started to look around and saw the sword laying on the ground. Alastor softly paced towards it and shot one glance at Abbygail. Abbygail was too enthralled by the blood on the knife. Alastor grabbed the sword and turned around. She quickly mustered her strength and ran towards her sister. Abbygail noticed a change in the air and looked around. She saw Alastor storming at her, with Oroshi in hand. Abbygail smirked and in the last second dodged Alastor's attack. Alastor ran against the wall behind her mother.

She turned around quickly and saw her sister walking towards her. Abbygail had an amused smile. "Abby…" Alastor wanted to stop her sister but her voice trailed off. She took a good look at her sister. Abby now stopped in front of her. Her blood-soaked eyes fixed on Alastor. Alastor took a deep breath and called upon her courage. She got a better look and saw that her sister was covered in blood. She could smell that it was her mother's blood. Her anger grew when Abbygail showed her the bloody knife. "What have you done?" Alastor asked with a very deep growling voice. The growls from Abbygail's shadow died down.

Abby started to laugh. "What have I done? You tell me sister! I've been doing the things our father should have done. Instead he betrayed the people he belonged to." Anger is starting to dwell up in Alastor. Abbygail could read the disgust in her sister's eyes and smiled wickedly. "Will you join me, sister? Let's fix our father's mistake. Let's become what we were meant to be in the first place. Let's shed away our disguise and reach our true form, let's become one soul again, sister. " She held the knife in front of Alastor. Alastor reached for the knife, she hesitated a moment before taking it from her sister. She held the knife in hand and looked at it. The blood on the knife was still warm. A dark impulse started to rise in her body. Her heart started pounding. There was something curious about this whole situation. It was deliciously maleficent. Almost as if she was witnessing a real execution. With a strange nostalgic look she glanced from her sister to her mother and then to the knife. She examined it further. While she examined the knife, her heart began to pound even harder. With each beat it almost felt like her heart would explode. Alastor was starting to get enthralled by the blood, by the atmosphere, by her sister. Slowly, but steadily her demon side took over. Alastor stood up and smirked wickedly at her sister. Her sister answered her smile and pointed at her mother. Alastor nodded, she wanted to step forward. But before she could motion herself to finish of the job Abbygail began. A deep, manly voice sounded in her head. "Don't do follow the commands of a lesser being. You're my blood, my heir. You are to follow my path, to keep my oath." The voice woke Alastor up from her blood thirst. She could think clearly now, the thirst for murder and killing in Alastor subdued. She glanced from the knife to Abbygail again.

Abby slowly backed down. She could see that something inside Alastor has changed. "I can't allow you to go any further. Stop at once, or… I'll kill you." Alastor roared. Abbygail smirked and gave Alastor a curious look. Alastor glared at her sister. Both were circling each other for some time, looking for a weak point. Lillian was still lying on the ground, barely conscious. She never would have guessed that this could happen. She knew her daughters, she knew that she has done everything in her power to save her darlings from the power sealed inside this house. But it wasn't enough. Lillian reminiscence about the times she has spent with her daughters, training. Lillian thought that her time training them has strengthened the girls' resilience against their demon side. As she was into thought, trying to ignore the immense pain, she tried to sit up. She panted while pushing herself up against the wall. With tears in her eyes she tried to get a grip on her situation. She looked toward the middle of the room. There she could see the siblings facing each other.

It almost looked like an eternity for something happened. Alastor still had the knife in hand when Abbygail finally started to make her move. With a swift round kick, she disarmed Alastor. With one move, Abbygail took back the knife and held it in front of her. Alastor jumped back, eyeing her sister carefully. "That was a good move... Guess I should have paid more attention." Alastor noted. Abbygail shrugged amused. "Yes, you still have a short attention span." She smirked. Alastor sighed annoyed and took a fighting stance. Both were staring at each other, waiting for a good opportunity to make a first move. Alastor glanced at the knife. She was at a disadvantage. With the knife, Abbygail could do a lot of damage. Alastor quickly glanced through the room, while keeping a watchful eye on Abbygail. The sword she took a moment before, was out of reach. If she would went for that Abbygail would impale her with the knife. That wasn't a pleasant prospect, so Alastor scanned the room again. Now she noticed a strange statue in the corner of the room. She hadn't noticed it before. She quickly shot a curious glance at it. Abbygail chuckled and gave Alastor an amused smile. "Really, Alastor. Have you yet again lost all interest in me?" She straightened herself and pointed at the statue. "It is an interesting piece, I have to agree. The only thing in this whole house that give us an idea of our father's appearance. Before he shed away his true form." Alastor carefully gave the statue another look. Then she snorted. "Really, was our father that ugly? He looked like a giant horned bat." She said insulting. Abbygail wanted to jump in on her insult but was shoved away by Alastor. She fell to the ground and glared at Alastor, who was now running to the statue.

Abbygail sighed annoyed and started to chase after her. When Alastor reached the statue she turned around, seeing how Abbygail came after her. She saw how Abbygail readied the knife to deliver a deadly blow. She waited until Abbygail could almost thrust the knife and at the last moment and sidestepped. Alastor circles around Abbygail until she was next to her and grabbed Abbygail in the neck. Then with all her strength, Alastor slammed Abbygail with her face against their father's statue. Then Alastor jumped up and in midair she rotated. She reached the ceiling. Then she pushes herself off from the ceiling and rotated until she reached the statue. With all her strength she kicked the top of the statue. She then set herself off against the wall and landed on the ground. She looked at how the statue collapsed on her sister. It didn't really crush Abbygail, but it did pleases Alastor. She did outwit Abbygail for once. Normally it was Alastor who was outsmarted by Abbygail.

Alastor stared at her sister for a moment. She could tell that Abbygail was unconscious and not that. This made her relax for a second. How much she hated Abbygail at times, it still pains Alastor to hurt her. After all, they were twin sisters. If one was feeling sad or was in pain, this affected the other. It was a strong bond. A bond that Alastor still enjoyed. Then Alastor turned around and walked towards the middle of the room. She stared at her mother, who was as white as a sheet. Alastor guessed that her mother has falling unconscious in the middle of the fight due to bloodless. The ground was covered with the red liquid which was still dripping out of her mother's stub. Alastor was starting to get nauseous seeing her mother like this. She tore a piece from her own nightgown and tied it around her mother's wound.

Alastor sat down for a second examining the room blankly before she noticed the sword again. There was something familiar about the sword, something nostalgic. She stood up and glanced at her mother. Her mother needed help and fast. Alastor looked again at the sword. She would help her mother, and paced to the sword. It could come in handy. Alastor still didn't feel at ease being in the basement, it still looked like another monster would jump out from the shadows. With a weapon she could at least defend herself and her mother.

She then quickly went to her mother's side again. "Mother…" she whispered. "Mother?" Alastor touched her mother's cheeks. They were cold. Alastor shuddered while glancing at her mother's ashen face. She felt herself getting colder as she watched her mother lying on the cold floor. Alastor stroke her mother's face. Then her mother started to shake a bit. Alastor could now notice her mother's small breaths. "Mother, I'm so sorry." Alastor whimpered. She sat down next to her mother, she could feel the tears coming up. But like always, she didn't shed them. It was like she couldn't cry, even when her mother was dying. She knew that it was pointless to help her mother. She should have done something sooner, before Abbygail had the chance to free an evil demonic entity. She should have stopped Abbygail from taking their mother by surprise, stop her from amputating her hand. From mutilating mother. She should have done something. Then she noticed that her mother started moving. She looked next to her and saw that her mother let out a loud gasp.

Alastor laid down her sword and kneeled down. She started to stroke her mother's cheek. Lillian was slowly getting conscious back. She had been in worse situations, but this was something she never expected. Lillian felt cold, she shuddered but it didn't help. She felt so tired, she glanced around. Alastor gulped when her mother's eyes turned towards her. They looked empty. Alastor showed a weak smile, but couldn't held back the hurtful look of her eyes. Lillian smiled softly and reached to Alastor with her hand. Alastor bowed over her mother and let her mother stroke her cheek. Both kept quiet, afraid to break the silence. Lillian continued to stroke Alastor's cheek while Alastor took Lillian in an embrace. "I'm sorry." Alastor whispered after a while. Lillian smiled, with her good arm she petted Alastor. "I know." She whispered.

Alastor didn't know how long she was sitting next to her mother. It almost felt like an eternity. She felt remorseful. If they had listened to their mother and ignored the basement. Nothing of this would have happened. Behind her, Alastor could hear something moving. The sound of stone scrapping the floor and then after a loud thump Alastor could hear footsteps slowly coming for them. Alastor didn't look behind her. She kept looking at her mother. Lillian still laid on the floor, Alastor could still hear her breathing. But something told her not for long. "I'm sorry, mother." Alastor whispered while reaching for the sword next to her. "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." She spoke softly while standing up.

Alastor looked behind her. She saw Abbygail approaching. Alastor closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She summoned all the strength she had left. This is for mother… She thought. She unsheated the sword and held it in front of her small body. Then with a swift move she tried to slash her sister in half.

But Abbygail backed down and dodging the sword easily. She shot her sister a hateful look. "It's not fair. Why were you first born? I should have been the only heir. I should have been the one to restore my father's power." She screamed. Alastor frowned when she heard her sister. She did not know what Abbygail was talking about, and honestly, she didn't wanted to know. It was strange to see her sister this way. She never was one for showing strong emotions. Alastor wondered if Abbygail has held those emotions back. If they weren't in this situation, Alastor would find it intriguing. But after all that has happened, she knew that she couldn't let Abbygail get her way. This wasn't her sister, but a monster.

Alastor gave Abbygail a careful look as she cautiously readied the sword again. Abbygail watched her sister closely. The hatred in Abbygail's eyes threw Alastor off. Then it was Abbygail who attacked. Both siblings were fighting. Abbygail was like a fury, never backing down. Her demon side took complete control which made Abbygail almost unstoppable. Meanwhile Alastor felt exhaustion taken over. She was tired, physically and emotionally. It felt like Abbygail was getting stronger by the minute, while Alastor started to struggle more and more. Then in an instant, Abbygail speeded up and thrust with her hand through Alastor's stomach.

Alastor shouted in pain and backed off. After a few steps she felt the cold wall behind her. With one hand she grabbed her wound, with the other she held the sword in front of her. Abbygail came closer, in her hand, Alastor now noticed the knife. She wondered for a moment, when Abbygail could have picked it up. But that thought was driven away when Abbygail came too close. When they stood eye to eye Abbygail smiled sweetly. "It's over…" She whispered. Alastor stared at Abbygail blankly. Both were staring at each other. "Why?" Alastor whispered. "Why would you do this? Aren't we family?" Abbygail gave Alastor a strange look, then her eyes soften for a moment. "It doesn't matter anymore…." She took a step forward and lay a hand on Alastor's shoulder. "Sleep." She whispered. Alastor's eyes widened. She felt the knife pressing against her chest. Than a thrust was heard and both fell to the ground. Both the girls' eyes were wide open. Abbygail gave Alastor a shocked look. Alastor sat on top of her sister while pushing the sword through Abbigail's stomach.

"Forgive me." Alastor whispered while she pushed Oroshi deeper inside her sister's stomach. Abbygail gasped and grabbed the sword with both hands. Her hands started to bleed as she tried to free herself from the sword. But Alastor stopped her by pushing her to the ground and stab her sister again, now in straight into the chest. Abbygail screamed while Alastor retracted the sword and stabbed her several times.

She continuously stabbed Abbygail until she did not have the strength again. She retracted the sword while she let herself fall on the ground, next to her sister. She was tired. She glanced at Abbygail who lay lifeless. "I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…" Alastor stuttered. She closed her eyes for a moment. She started to sob, "I'm so sorry." She said again. She felt tears running down her cheeks. "I'm sorry… I'm sorry… I'm sorry…" She whimpered. She felt herself getting colder. "I'm sorry… I'm sorry…" She repeated until exhaustion finally got to her.
