I wanted to more than anything that's why I had to leave. But he'd asked me not to, I wasn't even supposed to know but then one night he just broke, he told me what he was planning. I've never seen him like that John, he never once showed remorse for anything he said or did. But this, he was torn apart, Moriaty was closing in and he was cornered. He had no other choice. He did it to save us. But that doesn't make it feel any better. It's like he's dead, I don't know where he is, what's going on or even if he's still the same man he was. I hope he is. Just think of the hell that I was in John, I could speak to no-one, not even my closest friend. So I had to go I'm sorry.

He stopped sending books. Every month he sent me a book. Some were on psychology, and the others were just random, copies of Dickens, Shakespeare, even one on astronomy. At first I didn't know it was him, but then I realised that every book had a tiny 'SH' just inside the cover. Typical dramatic Sherlock. But I was grateful all the same. It was his way of telling me that he was alive and it prevented me from trying to find him. But he didn't send one this month. I think he's in trouble John. He needs us.
