HermioneMellark wanted me to make it longer, but it was only the first chapter, I didn't have much to write!
Well, if I had Prim at the Justice Building and going to the Capitol, I would, but I'm saving those for this chapter!
I turn around to the Peacekeepers. "Will you please stop prodding me with those guns?" I ask politely, but this urges them to do it even more. I sigh, and walk to the Justice Building. I sit in the room where I get my designated time with family and friends. First to see me are mother and Katniss. Mother's eyes are puffy, and she's mortified. She is obviously angry at Katniss, who didn't (in mothers eyes) try to volunteer, but she doesn't say anything. I try to force a smile, but it doesn't work.
"Promise me, little duck, that you'll come home alive?" Katniss says. I nod my head.
"I promise." Mother and Katniss hugs me, and I sit their, listening to their heartbeats, until the Peacekeepers take them away, and Gale's family come in. Rory runs up to me and hugs me. I smile, ruffling his hair.
"Gale said he'll protect you!" Rory says, smiling. "Even if it means his death!"
I sigh. "He won't die, and neither will I, Rory!" I say, smiling. He hugs me again, and that's when I realize he slipped something into my pocket. A pin. A small, gold pin in the shape of a Mockingjay. The same one Katniss was wearing earlier. I smile. "Rory, did you steal this?" I ask.
"Nu-uh. She gave it to me, to give to you!" He says.
That's when... That's when I kiss him.
Oh-la-la!
And with that, we end this chapter!
I hope it's better than the other one, but I'm on a bit of a writers block.
