The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS and into the public square

"isn't this just simply amazing Pond? here we are in the middle of a bustling city and my TARDIS sensors all say we're in a jungle. I don't even SEE a jungle for miles!"

"So what? it's just a city, there's probably a thousand more just like them. why do we care?" said Amy

"Even my sonic screwdriver says there's a forest!"

"Doctor, are you even listening?"

"I mean i don't see anything at all! and there's jungle a mere 3 cm in every direction from here!" said the doctor slipping the screwdriver back inside his tweed jacket

"nope, off in your own little world again"

The Doctor spun around to face Amy "I'll have you know that my world is a great big world, ful of wonderous things like planets and stars and Jammy Dodgers, actually i could go for one right now. TO THE TARDIS!" he said spinning around and heading back inside the police box.

"Doctor, I thought you were going out there to figure out why we can't leave yet? why are we back in here?"

"Ah, Yes, Well, of course I am, but you can never investigate on an empty stomach. remember that Pond, Jammy Dodgers, they make the universe go round" said the Doctor

"I thought it was fish fingers and custard"

"OH! Do you have that!? Oh that would right hit the spot right about now!"

"Doctor!"

"Yes, yes you're right. sorry. onward! to the investigation!" said the Doctor spinning about and running down below the control deck

"Doctor aren't the doors that way?"

"well, yes, but I can't very well go outside looking like this. I need something more cool."

"oh and your bow-tie wont cover it this time?"

"what!? oh heavens no! now let's see...no...no...no...stetson?...maybe another day...Gah, Rubber chickens are so last regeneration...no...a ha! yes this will do perfectly"

The Doctors eyes lit up as he pulled out a childrens beaner. "Yes this will do. How do I look?" he said as he beamed

"You look dorkier than usual"

"Which is why I'll wear it, I know deep down you meant cool, just like you think that my bow tie is cool. which it is. and look this hat even has a little propeller so you know this is right cool!"

"Whatever you say Doc" retorted Amy

"And off we go!"

The Doctor and Amy walked out the TARDIS doors back into the world. Eyeing around they observed people walking by tending to their day to day things. as far as cities go this one was pretty out there with it's oddly shaped buildings that look dilapitated, and yet oddly well constructed. the residents were humanoid, yet...not somehow. the Doctor was the first to speak

"So Pond what do you see?"

"I see no different than any other city. we've been to outside of earth" responded Amy

"well, yes, but what do you see in the corner of your eye?"

looking around, Amy saw everything to be as it should be. nothing necessarily looked out of place. upon a second glance though she realized something was different."what about that boy there?" she asked?

"Right you are Pond! everyone is talking and laughing and socializing, but not him. He's by himself. Shall we take a gander?"

"right behind you Doctor"

The boy in question was standing by the water fountain playing witha yo-yo. he wasn't anything special size wise, just your average boy. he took himself a bit of loaner but that was alright, nobody seemed to understand him and nobody bothered to try anymore.

"Hello!" said a voice. looking up he was greeted with the sight of a man with a ridiculous looking hat. "I'm the Doctor!" his greeting was a bit out of the ordinary for anybody around town, but he ignored it just the same. he wasn't in a talking mood as usual.

"Hi, I'm Amy, how are you?" shifting his gaze towards the red headed girl, he saw her greeting as equally unimpressive and continued with his yo-yo

"Doctor, we're getting nowhere with this boy. besides. I thought we were trying to fight out why your finnicky TARDIS is stuck?"

"My TARDIS is NOT finnicky!" he complained like a child who'd been told his shoes were an ugly colour "My TARDIS happens to be one of the most sophisticated ships in all the universe!"

"we always seem to end up in the wrong place, so it can't be all that great"

"well you just don't know class when you see it. Let me try something else." whipping out his psychic paper he said" hello, I'm the head police officer around here, I need you to tell me where we are and what you're doing in a place like this"

the boy loked at the blank paper with a bit of confusion but quickly dismssed the man as being a bit crazy upstairs and tured to walk away.

"how odd. the psychic paper had no effect. i wonder if he's psychic at all?"said the doctor pulling out his sonic screwdriver once more. "and it still says there's Jungle no less than 2cm away from here! what is going on!? Amy, we've gotta ask someone else around here, let's go!"

"Right behind you Doctor!"
